This paper presents a theory of differential inequalities for two-point boundary value problems (B.V.Ps) associated with the system of n th order non-linear differential equations. Using these inequalities as a tool we establish the existence and uniqueness of solutions to three-point B.V.Ps associated with the system of n th order non-linear differential equations by using the idea of matching solutions.     

Bounds for solutions of multipoint boundary value problems

Solutions of an nth order differential inequality with n boundary conditions are compared to solutions of an nth order disconjugate differential equation. It is shown the ratios of certain of these solutions are monotone.     

Exponential stability of impulsive stochastic functional differential equations

In this paper, we investigate the pth moment and almost sure exponential stability of impulsive stochastic functional differential equations with finite delay by using Lyapunov method. Several stability theorems of impulsive stochastic functional differential equations with finite delay are derived. These new results are employed to impulsive stochastic equations with bounded time-varying delays and stochastically perturbed equations. Meanwhile, an example and simulations are given to show that impulses play an important role in pth moment and almost sure exponential stability of stochastic functional differential equations with finite delay.     

Moment exponential stability and integrability of stochastic functional differential equations

The main objective of the paper is to present sufficient conditions ensuring the pth mean and almost sure exponential stability, as well as the pth mean integrability of solutions to non-linear stochastic functional differential equations and, especially, to stochastic differential equations with time-varying lags. Some examples are given to illustrate the theoretical considerations.     

Sensitivity analysis of the differential matrix Riccati equation based on the associated linear differential system

Perturbation bounds are given for the solution of the nth order differential matrix Riccati equation using the associated linear 2nth order differential system. The new bounds are alternative to those existing in the literature and are sharper in some cases. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Stability analysis of stochastic functional differential equations with infinite delay and its application to recurrent neural networks

In this paper, we investigate the stochastic functional differential equations with infinite delay. Some sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the pth moment exponential stability and pth moment global asymptotic stability of stochastic functional differential equations with infinite delay by using Razumikhin method and Lyapunov functions. Based on the obtained results, we further study the pth moment exponential stability of stochastic recurrent neural networks with unbounded distributed delays. The result extends and improves the earlier publications. Two examples are given to illustrate the applicability of the obtained results.     

Linear relations among algebraic solutions of differential equations

For any univariate polynomial with coefficients in a differential field of characteristic zero and any integer, q, there exists an associated nonzero linear ordinary differential equation (LODE) with the following two properties. Each term of the LODE lies in the differential field generated by the rational numbers and the coefficients of the polynomial, and the qth power of each root of the polynomial is a solution of this LODE. This LODE is called a qth power resolvent of the polynomial. We will show how one can get a resolvent for the logarithmic derivative of the roots of a polynomial from the αth power resolvent of the polynomial, where α is an indeterminate that takes the place of q. We will demonstrate some simple relations among the algebraic and differential equations for the roots and their logarithmic derivatives. We will also prove several theorems regarding linear relations of roots of a polynomial over constants or the coefficient field of the polynomial depending upon the (nondifferential) Galois group. Finally, we will use a differential resolvent to solve the Riccati equation.     

一类微分方程的解及其解的导数与不动点的关系

研究了一类亚纯系数微分方程的复振问题,通过应用亚纯函数的分解和模的增长估计,得到了该类方程的级的精确估计,同时对方程的解及其一阶导数与不动点间的关系进行了研究,指出由于受到微分方程的制约,该类方程的不动点密度与解的增长性有着密切的关系.     

Small solutions of nonlinear differential equations near branching points

We construct parametric families of small branching solutions to nonlinear differential equations of the nth order near branching points. We use methods of the analytical theory of branching solutions of nonlinear equations and the theory of differential equations with a regular singular point. We illustrate the general existence theorems with an example of a nonlinear differential equation in a certain magnetic insulation problem.     

Groups of partial differential operators and the generalized Bessel functions

Considering the generalized Bessel functions satisfying a special ordinary differential equation of mth order, we derive some addition theorems and generating functions with the help of some algebra constructed for a group of first order partial differential operators grounding on the recurrence relations for these functions.
