In this paper we study nonlinear elliptic boundary value problems with monotone and nonmonotone multivalued nonlinearities. First we consider the case of monotone nonlinearities. In the first result we assume that the multivalued nonlinearity is de_ned on all . Assuming the existence of an upper and of a lower solution, we prove the existence of a solution between them. Also for a special version of the problem, we prove the existence of extremal solutions in the order interval formed by the upper and lower solutions. Then we drop the requirement that the monotone nonlinearity is defined on all of . This case is important because it covers variational inequalities. Using the theory of operators of monotone type we show that the problem has a solution. Finally, in the last part we consider an eigenvalue problem with a nonmonotone multivalued nonlinearity. Using the critical point theory for nonsmooth locally Lipschitz functionals we prove the existence of at least two nontrivial solutions (multiplicity theorem).  相似文献

In this paper we study two boundary value problems for second order strongly nonlinear differential inclusions involving a maximal monotone term. The first is a vector problem with Dirichlet boundary conditions and a nonlinear differential operator of the form xa(x, x′)′. In this problem the maximal monotone term is required to be defined everywhere in the state space ℝN. The second problem is a scalar problem with periodic boundary conditions and a differential operator of the form x ↦ (a(x)x′)′. In this case the maximal monotone term need not be defined everywhere, incorporating into our framework differential variational inequalities. Using techniques from multivalued analysis and from nonlinear analysis, we prove the existence of solutions for both problems under convexity and nonconvexity conditions on the multivalued right-hand side.  相似文献

This is the first part of a work on second order nonlinear, nonmonotone evolution inclusions defined in the framework of an evolution triple of spaces and with a multivalued nonlinearity depending on both x(t) and x(t). In this first part we prove existence and relaxation theorems. We consider the case of an usc, convex valued nonlinearity and we show that for this problem the solution set is nonempty and compact in C^1 (T, H). Also we examine the Isc, nonconvex case and again we prove the existence of solutions. In addition we establish the existence of extremal solutions and by strengthening our hypotheses, we show that the extremal solutions are dense in C^1 (T, H) to the solutions of the original convex problem (strong relaxation). An example of a nonlinear hyperbolic optimal control problem is also discussed.  相似文献

We study the periodic problem for differential inclusions in R~N.First we look for extremal periodicsolutions.Using techniques from multivalued analysis and a fixed point argument we establish an existencetheorem under some general hypotheses. We also consider the“nonconvex periodic problem”under lowersemicontinuity hypotheses, and the“convex periodic problem”under general upper semicontinuity hypotheseson the multivalued vector field. For both problems,we prove existence theorems under very general hypotheses. Our approach extends existing results in the literature and appear to be the most general results on the nonconvexperiodic problem.  相似文献

In this paper we study nonlinear parabolic equations using the method of upper and lower solutions. Using truncation and penalization techniques and results from the theory of operators of monotone type, we prove the existence of a periodic solution between an upper and a lower solution. Then with some monotonicity conditions we prove the existence of extremal solutions in the order interval defined by an upper and a lower solution. Finally we consider problems with discontinuities and we show that their solution set is a compact R -set in (CT, L 2(Z)).  相似文献

In this paper we examine nonlinear parabolic problems with a discontinuous right hand side. Assuming the existence of an upper solution φ and a lower solution ψ such that ψ ≤ φ, we establish the existence of a maximum and a minimum solution in the order interval [ψ, φ]. Our approach does not consider the multivalued interpretation of the problem, but a weak one side “Lipschitz” condition on the discontinuous term. By employing a fixed point theorem for nondecreasing maps, we prove the existence of extremal solutions in [ψ, φ for the original single valued version of the problem.  相似文献

In this paper we consider two quasilinear boundary value problems. The first is vector valued and has periodic boundary conditions. The second is scalar valued with nonlinear boundary conditions determined by multivalued maximal monotone maps. Using the theory of maximal monotone operators for reflexive Banach spaces and the Leray-Schauder principle we establish the existence of solutions for both problems.  相似文献

We consider a semilinear differential inclusion in a Banach space assuming that its linear part is a nondensely defined Hille–Yosida operator whereas Carathèodory-type multivalued nonlinearity satisfies a regularity condition expressed in terms of the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness. We apply the theory of integrated semigroups and the fixed point theory of condensing multivalued maps to obtain local and global existence results and to prove the continuous dependence of the solutions set on initial data. An application to an optimization problem for a feedback control system is given.  相似文献

We consider an abstract first-order evolutionary inclusion in a reflexive Banach space. The inclusion contains the sum of L-pseudomonotone operator and a maximal monotone operator. We provide an existence theorem which is a generalization of former results known in the literature. Next, we apply our result to the case of nonlinear variational–hemivariational inequalities considered in the setting of an evolution triple of spaces. We specify the multivalued operators in the problem and obtain existence results for several classes of variational–hemivariational inequality problems. Finally, we illustrate our existence result and treat a class of quasilinear parabolic problems under nonmonotone and multivalued flux boundary conditions.  相似文献

This paper deals with quasilinear elliptic differential inclusions defined in all of N and governed in general by a nonpotential quasilinear elliptic operator of the Leray–Lions type and a multivalued term in form of a (nonmonotone) state-dependent subdifferential. We prove the existence of entire extremal solutions within a sector of an ordered pair of appropriately defined upper and lower solutions without imposing any condition at infinity. Therefore, standard variational methods cannot be applied here. Furthermore, due to the unboundedness of the domain and due to lack of monotonicity of the operators involved, no comparison results are available such that the problem under consideration becomes even more difficult.  相似文献

In this paper we consider an initial boundary value problem for a parabolic inclusion whose multivalued nonlinearity is characterized by Clarke's generalized gradient of some locally Lipschitz function, and whose elliptic operator may be a general quasilinear operator of Leray-Lions type. Recently, extremality results have been obtained in case that the governing multivalued term is of special structure such as, multifunctions given by the usual subdifferential of convex functions or subgradients of so-called dc-functions. The main goal of this paper is to prove the existence of extremal solutions within a sector of appropriately defined upper and lower solutions for quasilinear parabolic inclusions with general Clarke's gradient. The main tools used in the proof are abstract results on nonlinear evolution equations, regularization, comparison, truncation, and special test function techniques as well as tools from nonsmooth analysis.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a general nonlinear boundary value problem for second-order differential inclusions. We prove two existence theorems, one for the ``convex' problem and the other for the ``nonconvex' problem. Then we show that the solution set of the latter is dense in the C 1 (T,R N ) -norm to the solution set of the former (relaxation theorem). Subsequently for a Dirichlet boundary value problem we prove the existence of extremal solutions and we show that they are dense in the solutions of the convexified problem for the C 1 (T,R N ) -norm . Our tools come from multivalued analysis and the theory of monotone operators and our proofs are based on the Leray—Schauder principle. Accepted 18 September 1997  相似文献

In this paper we study semilinear second order differential inclusions involving a multivalued maximal monotone operator. In this paper, we consider nonlinear evolution problems, defined on an evolution triple of spaces, driven by a nonmonotone operator, and with a perturbation term which is multivalued. We prove existence theorems for the cases of a convex and of a nonconvex valued perturbation term which is defined on all of T × H or only on T × X with values in H or even in X* (here X - H - X* is the evolution triple). Also, we prove the existence of extremal solutions, and for the “monotone” problem we have a strong relaxation theorem. Some examples of nonlinear parabolic problems are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an initial boundary-value problem for a class of quasilinear parabolic equations whose lower-order nonlinearity is of d.c. function type with respecxt to the dependent variable. Assuming the existence of an ordered pair of weak upper and lower solutions, we establish a generalized quasilinearization method for the problem under consideration. A characteristic feature of this generalized quasilinearization method consists in the construction of monotone sequences converging to the unique solution within the interval of upper and lower solutions, and whose convergence rate is quadratic.  相似文献

By solving a deterministic Skorohod problem in the framework of evolutional triple, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions to multivalued stochastic evolution equations involving maximal monotone operators. The existence and uniqueness of invariant measures associated with the solutions as Markov processes are also considered in the present paper. Moreover, we apply the results to stochastic differential equations with normal reflecting boundary conditions and with singular drift terms, as well as a class of multivalued nonlinear stochastic partial differential equations with possibly discontinuous coefficients.  相似文献
