The tetranuclear complex [Fe(III)2(L')(OH)(CH3O)]2, 1, has been synthesised from the reaction of either ferrous [in excess as 4:1 or stoichiometric 2:1 iron(II) : H4L] or ferric ions [4:1 iron(III) : H4L] with the large macrocycle, H4L, using aerobic conditions in methanol in the presence of triethylamine. The structure of 1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. These reaction conditions lead to the modification of the original macrocycle through the incorporation of a methylene group between two amine groups to give an imidazolidine ring in (L')4-. The controlled addition of formaldehyde into the reaction system results in a significantly improved yield of 1, suggesting that it is involved in the reaction mechanism. The (L')4- macrocycle binds to two, well-separated, iron(III) centres [Fe(1)...Fe(1a) > 8 A]. Each iron(III) centre is further linked via hydroxy and methoxy bridges to equivalent iron(iii) centres contained in a second macrocycle. Overall this gives a structure containing two {Fe(OH)(CH(3)O)Fe} dimers [Fe(1)...Fe(2)ca. 3.2 A] sandwiched by two (L')4- macrocycles. The complex was further characterised by SQUID magnetic measurements and can be interpreted in terms of two isolated antiferromagnetically coupled Fe(III) dimers (J=-23.75 K).  相似文献

In this report, we describe the reversible dioxygen reactivity of ((6)L)Fe(II) (1) [(6)L = partially fluorinated tetraphenylporphyrin with covalently appended TMPA moiety; TMPA = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine] using a combination of low-temperature UV-vis and multinuclear ((1)H and (2)H) NMR spectroscopies. Complex 1, or its pyrrole-deuterated analogue ((6)L-d(8))Fe(II) (1-d(8)), exhibits downfield shifted pyrrole resonances (delta 28-60 ppm) in all solvents utilized [CH(2)Cl(2), (CH(3))(2)C(O), CH(3)CN, THF], indicative of a five-coordinate high-spin ferrous heme, even when there is no exogenous axial solvent ligand present (i.e., in methylene chloride). Furthermore, ((6)L)Fe(II) (1) exhibits non-pyrrolic upfield and downfield shifted peaks in CH(2)Cl(2), (CH(3))(2)C(O), and CH(3)CN solvents, which we ascribed to resonances arising from the intra- or intermolecular binding of a TMPA-pyridyl arm to the ferrous heme. Upon exposure to dioxygen at 193 K in methylene chloride, ((6)L)Fe(II) (1) [UV-vis: lambda(max) = 433 (Soret), 529 (sh), 559 nm] reversibly forms a dioxygen adduct [UV-vis: lambda(max) = 422 (Soret), 542 nm], formulated as the six-coordinate low-spin [delta(pyrrole) 9.3 ppm, 193 K] heme-superoxo complex ((6)L)Fe(III)-(O(2)(-)) (2). The coordination of the tethered pyridyl arm to the heme-superoxo complex as axial base ligand is suggested. In coordinating solvents such as THF, reversible oxygenation (193 K) of ((6)L)Fe(II) (1) [UV-vis: lambda(max) = 424 (Soret), 542 nm] also occurs to give a similar adduct ((6)L)Fe(III)-(O(2)(-)) (2) [UV-vis: lambda(max) = 418 (Soret), 537 nm. (2)H NMR: delta(pyrrole) 8.9 ppm, 193 K]. Here, we are unable to distinguish between a bound solvent ligand or tethered pyridyl arm as axial base ligand. In all solvents, the dioxygen adducts decompose (thermally) to the ferric-hydroxy complex ((6)L)Fe(III)-OH (3) [UV-vis: lambda(max) = 412-414 (Soret), 566-575 nm; approximately delta(pyrrole) 120 ppm at 193 K]. This study on the O(2)-binding chemistry of the heme-only homonuclear ((6)L)Fe(II) (1) system lays the foundation for a more complete understanding of the dioxygen reactivity of heterobinuclear heme-Cu complexes, such as [((6)L)Fe(II)Cu(I)](+), which are models for cytochrome c oxidase.  相似文献

Nitrosylation of the biomimetic reduced- and oxidized-form rubredoxin [Fe(SR)4]2-/1- (R = Ph, Et) in a 1:1 stoichiometry led to the formation of the extremely air- and light-sensitive mononitrosyl tris(thiolate) iron complexes (MNICs) [Fe(NO)(SR)3]- along with byproducts [SR]- or (RS)2. Transformation of [Fe(NO)(SR)3]- into dinitrosyl iron complexes (DNICs) [(RS)2Fe(NO)2]- and Roussin's red ester [Fe2(mu-SR)2(NO)4] occurs rapidly under addition of 1 equiv of NO(g) and [NO]+, respectively. Obviously, the mononitrosyl tris(thiolate) complex [Fe(NO)(SR)3]- acts as an intermediate when the biomimetic oxidized- and reduced-form rubredoxin [Fe(SR)4]2-/1- exposed to NO(g) were modified to form dinitrosyl iron complexes [(RS)2Fe(NO)2]-. Presumably, NO binding to the electron-deficient [Fe(III)(SR)4]- and [Fe(III)(NO)(SR)3]- complexes triggers reductive elimination of dialkyl/diphenyl disulfide, while binding of NO radical to the reduced-form [Fe(II)(SR)4]2- induces the thiolate-ligand elimination. Protonation of [Fe(NO)(SEt)3]- yielding [Fe(NO)(SPh)3]- by adding 3 equiv of thiophenol and transformation of [Fe(NO)(SPh)3]- to [Fe(NO)(SEt)3]- in the presence of 3 equiv of [SEt]-, respectively, demonstrated that complexes [Fe(NO)(SPh)3]- and [Fe(NO)(SEt)3]- are chemically interconvertible. Mononitrosyl tris(thiolate) iron complex [Fe(NO)(SPh)3]- and dinitrosyl iron complex [(EtS)2Fe(NO)2]- were isolated and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The mean NO bond distances of 1.181(7) A (or 1.191(7) A) in complex [(EtS)2Fe(NO)2]- are nearly at the upper end of the 1.178(3)-1.160(6) A for the anionic {Fe(NO)2}9 DNICs, while the mean FeN(O) distances of 1.674(6) A (or 1.679(6) A) exactly fall in the range of 1.695(3)-1.661(4) A for the anionic {Fe(NO)2}9 DNICs.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterisation of a pyridazine-containing two-armed grid ligand L2 (prepared from one equivalent of 3,6-diformylpyridazine and two equivalents of p-anisidine) and the resulting transition metal (Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, Fe, Mn) complexes (1-9) are reported. Single-crystal X-ray structure determinations revealed that the copper(I) complex had self-assembled as a [2 x 2] grid, [Cu(I) (4)(L2)(4)][PF(6)](4).(CH(3)CN)(H(2)O)(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25) (2.(CH(3)CN)(H(2)O)(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25)), whereas the [Zn(2)(L2)(2)(CH(3)CN)(2)(H(2)O)(2)][ClO(4)](4).CH(3)CN (1.CH(3)CN), [Ni(II) (2)(L2)(2)(CH(3)CN)(4)][BF(4)](4).(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25) (5 a.(CH(3)CH(2)OCH(2)CH(3))(0.25)) and [Co(II) (2)(L2)(2)(H(2)O)(2)(CH(3)CN)(2)][ClO(4)](4).(H(2)O)(CH(3)CN)(0.5) (6 a.(H(2)O)(CH(3)CN)(0.5)) complexes adopt a side-by-side architecture; iron(II) forms a monometallic cation binding three L2 ligands, [Fe(II)(L2)(3)][Fe(III)Cl(3)OCl(3)Fe(III)].CH(3)CN (7.CH(3)CN). A more soluble salt of the cation of 7, the diamagnetic complex [Fe(II)(L2)(3)][BF(4)](2).2 H(2)O (8), was prepared, as well as two derivatives of 2, [Cu(I) (2)(L2)(2)(NCS)(2)].H(2)O (3) and [Cu(I) (2)(L2)(NCS)(2)] (4). The manganese complex, [Mn(II) (2)(L2)(2)Cl(4)].3 H(2)O (9), was not structurally characterised, but is proposed to adopt a side-by-side architecture. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility studies yielded small negative J values for the side-by-side complexes: J=-21.6 cm(-1) and g=2.17 for S=1 dinickel(II) complex [Ni(II) (2)(L2)(2)(H(2)O)(4)][BF(4)](4) (5 b) (fraction monomer 0.02); J=-7.6 cm(-1) and g=2.44 for S= 3/2 dicobalt(II) complex [Co(II) (2)(L2)(2)(H(2)O)(4)][ClO(4)](4) (6 b) (fraction monomer 0.02); J=-3.2 cm(-1) and g=1.95 for S= 5/2 dimanganese(II) complex 9 (fraction monomer 0.02). The double salt, mixed valent iron complex 7.H(2)O gave J=-75 cm(-1) and g=1.81 for the S= 5/2 diiron(III) anion (fraction monomer=0.025). These parameters are lower than normal for Fe(III)OFe(III) species because of fitting of superimposed monomer and dimer susceptibilities arising from trace impurities. The iron(II) centre in 7.H(2)O is low spin and hence diamagnetic, a fact confirmed by the preparation and characterisation of the simple diamagnetic iron(II) complex 8. M?ssbauer measurements at 77 K confirmed that there are two iron sites in 7.H(2)O, a low-spin iron(II) site and a high-spin diiron(III) site. A full electrochemical investigation was undertaken for complexes 1, 2, 5 b, 6 b and 8 and this showed that multiple redox processes are a feature of all of them.  相似文献

The reaction of the dimeric iron(III) complex [Fe2(CN)10]4– with a large excess of thiourea, tu, takes place in a series of stages, the first two of which have been examined in detail. The first stage is a one equivalent outer sphere electron transfer to form [Fe2– (CN)10]5– and the radical cation tu+· which dimerises to form the disulfide tu22+. There is kinetic evidence for the formation of a significant proportion of a precursor complex [Fe2(CN)10]4–·tu at high concentrations of tu. The second stage involves cleavage of the mixed valence dimer to yield [Fe(CN)5tu]2– and [Fe(CN)5H2O]3–. On standing, substitution of H2O by tu and oxidation by air occurs slowly, and finally all of the original iron is observed as [Fe(CN)5tu]2–.  相似文献

The reaction of iron sulfate with 1-carboxymethyl-4,7-dimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (L) and hydrogen peroxide in aqueous ethanol gives a brown dinuclear complex considered to be [Fe2(N3O-L)2(mu-O)(mu-OOCCH3)] + (1), which converts upon standing in acetonitrile solution into the green tetranuclear complex [Fe4(N3O2-L)4(mu-O)2]4+ (2). A single-crystal X-ray structure analysis of [2][PF6]4.5MeCN reveals 2 to contain four iron(III) centers, each of which is coordinated to three nitrogen atoms of a triazacyclononane ligand and is bridged by one oxo and two carboxylato bridges, a structural feature known from the active center of methane monooxygenase. Accordingly, complex 2 was found to catalyze the oxidative functionalization of methane with hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution to give methanol, methyl hydroperoxide, and formic acid; the total turnover numbers attain 24 catalytic cycles within 4 h. To gain more insight into the catalytic process, the catalytic potential of 2 was also studied for the oxidation of higher alkanes, cycloalkanes, and isopropanol in acetonitrile, as well as in aqueous solution. The bond selectivities of the oxidation of linear and branched alkanes suggest a ferroxy radical pathway.  相似文献

This report describes routes to iron dithiolato carbonyls that do not require preformed iron carbonyls. The reaction of FeCl 2, Zn, and Q 2S 2C n H 2 n (Q (+) = Na (+), Et 3NH (+)) under an atmosphere of CO affords Fe 2(S 2C n H 2 n )(CO) 6 ( n = 2, 3) in yields >70%. The method was employed to prepare Fe 2(S 2C 2H 4)( (13)CO) 6. Treatment of these carbonylated mixtures with tertiary phosphines, instead of Zn, gave the ferrous species Fe 3(S 2C 3H 6) 3(CO) 4(PR 3) 2, for R = Et, Bu, and Ph. Like the related complex Fe 3(SPh) 6(CO) 6, these compounds consist of a linear arrangement of three conjoined face-shared octahedral centers. Omitting the phosphine but with an excess of dithiolate, we obtained the related mixed-valence triiron species [Fe 3(S 2C n H 2 n ) 4(CO) 4] (-). The highly reducing all-ferrous species [Fe 3(S 2C n H 2 n ) 4(CO) 4] (2-) is implicated as an intermediate in this transformation. Reactive forms of iron, prepared by the method of Rieke, also combined with dithiols under a CO atmosphere to give Fe 2(S 2C n H 2 n )(CO) 6 in modest yields under mild conditions. Studies on the order of addition indicate that ferrous thiolates are formed prior to the onset of carbonylation. Crystallographic characterization demonstrated that the complexes Fe 3(S 2C 3H 6) 3(CO) 4(PEt 3) 2 and PBnPh 3[Fe 3(S 2C 3H 6) 4(CO) 4] feature high-spin ferrous and low-spin ferric as the central metal, respectively.  相似文献

A simple method to prepare57Fe enriched K4[Fe(CN)6] and K3[Fe(CN)6] is described. The yields of the products are much better than those reported in the literature so far. The enrichment is essential for57Fe Mössbauer investigation in a variety of Prussiate type complexes and other inorganic compounds which are conveniently prepared from K4[Fe(CN)6] and K3[Fe(CN)6]. K4[Fe(CN)6] was obtained by reacting freshly prepared Fe(OH)3 with glacial acetic acid and treating with iron acetate in boiling aqueous solution of KCN. The novel feature of the procedure to obtain K3[Fe(CN)6] is that the oxidation of K4[Fe(CN)6] has been carried out in the solid state by passing chlorine gas over the powdered specimen. K3[Fe(CN)6] was crystallised from alkaline solution of this oxidised powder. The compounds were characterised by Mössbauer spectroscopy.  相似文献

Dinuclear iron(II)-cyanocarbonyl complex [PPN](2)[Fe(CN)(2)(CO)(2)(mu-SEt)](2) (1) was prepared by the reaction of [PPN][FeBr(CN)(2)(CO)(3)] and [Na][SEt] in THF at ambient temperature. Reaction of complex 1 with [PPN][SEt] produced the triply thiolate-bridged dinuclear Fe(II) complex [PPN][(CN)(CO)(2)Fe(mu-SEt)(3)Fe(CO)(2)(CN)] (2) with the torsion angle of two CN(-) groups (C(5)N(2) and C(3)N(1)) being 126.9 degrees. The extrusion of two sigma-donor CN(-) ligands from Fe(II)Fe(II) centers of complex 1 as a result of the reaction of complex 1 and [PPN][SEt] reflects the electron-rich character of the dinuclear iron(II) when ligated by the third bridging ethylthiolate. The Fe-S distances (2.338(2) and 2.320(3) A for complexes 1 and 2, respectively) do not change significantly, but the Fe(II)-Fe(II) distance contracts from 3.505 A in complex 1 to 3.073 A in complex 2. The considerably longer Fe(II)-Fe(II) distance of 3.073 A in complex 2, compared to the reported Fe-Fe distances of 2.6/2.62 A in DdHase and CpHase, was attributed to the presence of the third bridging ethylthiolate, instead of pi-accepting CO-bridged ligand as observed in [Fe] hydrogenases. Additionally, in a compound of unusual composition ([Na.(5)/(2)H(2)O][(CN)(CO)(2)Fe(mu-SEt)(3)Fe(CO)(2)(CN)])(n)((1)/(2)O(Et)(2))(n) (3), the Na(+) cations and H(2)O molecules combining with dinuclear [(CN)(CO)(2)Fe(mu-SEt)(3)Fe(CO)(2)(CN)](-) anions create a polymeric framework wherein two CN(-) ligands are coordinated via CN(-)-Na(+)/CN(-)-(Na(+))(2) linkages, respectively.  相似文献

Reaction of MnCl(2).4H(2)O with H(3)L (H(3)L = tris(6-hydroxymethyl-2-pyridylmethyl)amine) in methanol gives hepta-coordinated [Mn(H(3)L)]Cl(2) involving attachment of Mn(II) to all four nitrogens and three hydroxymethyl arms. Reaction of H(3)L with Fe(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O in CH(3)CN in the presence of NaO(2)CC(6)H(5) in an attempt to make [Fe(III)OH(H(3)L)(O(2)CC(6)H(5))](ClO(4)), a putative model for soybean lipoxygenase-1, instead gave rise to the linear triiron(III) complex [Fe(3)L(2)](ClO(4))(3) with all three hydroxymethyl arms deprotonated and forming three alkoxide bridges between each Fe(III) centre. The central Fe(III) is hexa-coordinated to only the alkoxide bridges and flanked by two hepta-coordinated iron(III) centres analogous to the Mn(ii) complex. [Fe(3)L(2)](ClO(4))(3) exhibits two reversible 1e(-) reductions to mixed-valence [Fe(3)L(2)](2+) and [Fe(3)L(2)](+) forms. Structure data and magnetochemistry on [Fe(3)L(2)](ClO(4))(3) reveals the tightest Fe-O-Fe angle (87.4 degrees ) and shortest Fe...Fe distance (2.834 A) yet found for any weakly antiferromagnetically-coupled high spin alkoxide-bridged di- or triiron(iii) system and challenges current theories involved in correlating the extent/nature of magnetic interactions in such systems based on Fe-O(bridge) distances and Fe-O-Fe angles. The central hexa-alkoxide coordinated Fe(III) is novel and shows a remarkable resistance towards reduction to Fe(II).  相似文献

1 INTRODUCTION Recently polynuclear iron (Ⅲ) clusters have attracted considerable attention in bioinorganic chemistry due to their presence in the protein ferritin and the related materical hemosiderin[1, 2]. The binuclear oxo-bridge non-haem iron com- plexes (containing the FeⅢOFeⅢ unit) which provide models for the diiron site in the protein involved in the storage (haemrythrin) and on the reductive activation (methanemonoxygenas, ribonclectidereductas) of dioxygen[3,4]. The difluorcarbene complex [Fe2(CO)8(mu-CF2)] (2) reacts with AsMe3 under CO substitution to give the mu-CF2 containing complexes [Fe2(CO)6(AsMe3)2(mu-CF2)] (4) and [Fe2(CO)5(AsMe3)3(mu-CF2)] (5) which have an [Fe2(CO)9]-like structure as shown by X-ray analyses. In the solid state, 4 forms two isomers, 4a and 4b, in a 3 to 1 ratio, which differ in the position of the mu-CF(2) ligand; 4a has a local C(2) axis and 4b has C1 symmetry. The Fe-Fe distances in 4 and 5 are 2.47 A and are the shortest ones found in [Fe2(CO)9]-like compounds. Efforts were also undertaken to replace one or more CO groups in 2 by other ligands, such as N (bpy, phen, pzy, etc.) or P donors (dppe, dppm). With dppm, only the CF(2) free complex, [Fe2(CO)4(mu-Ph2PCH2PPh2)2(mu-CO)] (6), could be detected and characterized by X-ray analysis. Most of the reactions resulted in the formation of red-brown materials which were insoluble in the usual solvents and which could not be characterized. The use of CH2Cl2 during the attempts to crystallize a product from the reaction of 2 and phen gave [Fe(phen)3]Cl2 (7) in low yields. For 4 and 5, the electronic structures were analyzed using the atoms in molecules (AIM) theory. No electron density was found between the two iron atoms, and the short contacts can be interpreted in terms of a pi-interaction.  相似文献

A novel heterobimetallic alkynyl-bridged complex, [Re(bpy)(CO)(3)(C[triple bond]C[bond]C(6)H(4)[bond]C[triple bond]C)Fe(C(5)Me(5))(dppe)], 1, and its oxidized species, [Re(bpy)(CO)(3)(C[triple bond]C[bond]C(6)H(4)[bond]C[triple bond]C)Fe(C(5)Me(5))(dppe)][PF(6)], 2, have been synthesized and their X-ray crystal structures determined. A related vinylidene complex, [Re(bpy)(CO)(3)(C[triple bond]C[bond]C(6)H(4)[bond](H)C[double bond]C)Fe(C(5)Me(5))(dppe)][PF(6)], 3, has also been synthesized and characterized. The cyclic voltammogram of 1 shows a quasireversible reduction couple at -1.49 V (vs SCE), a fully reversible oxidation at -0.19 V, and a quasireversible oxidation at +0.88 V. In accord with the electrochemical results, density-functional theory calculations on the hydrogen-substituted model complex Re(bpy)(CO)(3)(C[triple bond]C[bond]C(6)H(4)[bond]C[triple bond]C)Fe(C(5)H(5))(dHpe) (Cp = C(5)H(5), dHpe = H(2)P[bond](CH(2))(2)[bond]PH(2)) (1-H) show that the LUMO is mainly bipyridine ligand pi* in character while the HOMO is largely iron(II) d orbital in character. The electronic absorption spectrum of 1 shows low-energy absorption at 390 nm with a 420 nm shoulder in CH(2)Cl(2), while that of 2 exhibits less intense low-energy bands at 432 and 474 nm and additional low-energy bands in the NIR at ca. 830, 1389, and 1773 nm. Unlike the related luminescent rhenium(I)-alkynyl complex [Re(bpy)(CO)(3)(C[triple bond]C[bond]C(6)H(4)[bond]C[triple bond]C[bond]H)], 4, complex 1 is found to be nonemissive, and such a phenomenon is attributed to an intramolecular quenching of the emissive d pi(Re) --> pi*(bpy) (3)MLCT state by the low-lying MLCT and LF excited states of the iron moiety. Interestingly, switching on of the luminescence property derived from the d pi(Re) --> pi*(bpy) (3)MLCT state can be demonstrated in the oxidized species 2 and the related vinylidene analogue 3 due to the absence of the quenching pathway.  相似文献

Mossbauer spectroscopy has been applied to the investigation of reaction of Sn[Fe(CN)6] on magnesia, 7-alumina, silica and activated carbon. It was found that the thermal decomposition products of supported Sn[Fe(CN)6] are quite different from those of the unsupported one as a result of the interaction between the complex and supports. The supports could promote the oxidation in the air atmosphere and their effect led to high dispersion of the decomposition products on the surface.  相似文献

Current theoretical and experimental evidence points toward X = N as the identity of the interstitial atom in the [MoFe7S9X] core of the iron-molybdenum cofactor cluster of nitrogenase. This atom functions with mu6 bridging multiplicity to six iron atoms and, if it is nitrogen as nitride, raises a question as to the existence of a family of molecular iron nitrides of higher nuclearity than known dinuclear Fe(III,IV) species with linear [Fe-N-Fe]5+,4+ bridges. This matter has been initially examined by variation of reactant stoichiometry in the self-assembly systems [FeX4]1-/(Me3Sn)3N (X = Cl-, Br-) in acetonitrile. A 2:1 mol ratio affords [Fe4N2Cl10]4- (1), isolated as the Et4N+ salt (72%). This cluster has idealized C2h symmetry with a planar antiferromagnetically coupled [Fe(III)4(mu3-N)2]6+ core containing an Fe2N2 rhombus to which are attached two FeCl3 units. DFT calculations have been performed to determine the dominant magnetic exchange pathway. An 11:8 mol ratio leads to [Fe10N8Cl12]5- (3) as the Et4N+ salt (37%). The cluster possesses idealized D2h symmetry and is built of 15 edge- and vertex-shared rhomboids involving two mu3-N and six mu4-N bridging atoms, and incorporates two of the core units of 1. Four FeN2Cl2 and four FeN3Cl sites are tetrahedral and two FeN5 sites are trigonal pyramidal. The cluster is mixed-valence (9Fe(III) + Fe(IV)); a discrete Fe(IV) site was not detected by crystallography or M?ssbauer spectroscopy. The corresponding clusters [Fe4N2Br10]4- and [Fe10N8Br12]5- are isostructural with 1 and 3, respectively. Future research is directed toward defining the scope of the family of molecular iron nitrides.  相似文献

The syntheses of the parent compounds [(p-Bu(t)-calix[4]-(O)2(OR)2)Fe-L] [R = Me, L = THF, 5; R = Bu(n), L = THF, 6; R = PhCH2, L = THF, 7; R = SiMe3, L = none, 8] have been performed by reacting the protonated form of the dialkylcalix[4]arene with [Fe2Mes4] [Mes = 2,4,6-Me3C6H2]. All of them undergo one-electron oxidative functionalization. By use of different oxidizing agents, the following iron(III) derivatives have been obtained: [(p-Bu(t)-calix[4]-(O)2(OR)2)Fe-X] [X = Cl, R = Me, 9; X = I, R = Me, 10] and [(p-Bu(t)-calix[4]-(O)2(OR)2)2Fe2(mu-X] [X = O, R = Me, 11; X = O, R = Bu(n), 12; X = S, R = Me, 13], 9 and 10 being particularly appropriate for a further functionalization of the metal. The last three display typical antiferromagnetic behavior [J = -78.6 cm-1, 11; J = -64.1 cm-1, 13]. In the case of 7 and 8, the reaction with O2 led to the dealkylation of one of the alkoxo groups, with the formation of a dimeric iron(III) derivative ([mu-p-Bu(t)-calix[4]-(O)3(OR))2Fe2] [R = PhCH2, 14; R = SiMe3, 15] [J = -9.8 cm-1]. The reaction of the parent compounds with ButNC and diazoalkanes led to the formation of [Fe=C] functionalities supported by a calix[4]arene oxo surface. The following compounds have been isolated and characterized: ([p-Bu(t)-calix[4]-(O)2(OR)2)Fe=CNBut] [R = SiMe3, 16, nu CN = 2175 cm-1], ([p-Bu(t)-calix[4]-(O)2(OR)2)Fe=CPh2] [R = Me, 17; R = PhCH2, 18; R = SiMe3, 19]. The three carbene complexes 17-19 display quite an unusual high-spin state, which is a consequence of the formation of a weak pi interaction between the metal and the carbene carbon, as confirmed by the extended Hückel calculations. The carbene functionality has been removed from the iron center in the reaction with O2 and HCl. The proposed structures have been supported by X-ray analyses of complexes 8, 9, 12, 14, 16, 17, and 19.  相似文献

The reaction between [Fe(III)(dmf)(6)](ClO(4))(3) and the ligand S-methyl-1-phenyl-isothiosemicarbazide, H(2)[L(Me)], and triethylamine (1:3:6) in methanol under an argon blanketing atmosphere at elevated temperatures (reflux) yields a purple solution from which upon cooling to 20 degrees C dark green crystals of [Fe(III)(L(Me)(*))(2)(SCH(3))] (1) were obtained in 15% yield. From a similar reaction mixture using FeCl(3) as starting material in the solvent acetone under anaerobic conditions at -80 degrees C, dark green crystals of [Fe(III)(L(Me)(*))(2)Cl] (2) were obtained in 21% yield. The structures of complexes 1 and 2 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography at 100 K. Both complexes are five-coordinate square base pyramidal ferric species containing two N,N-coordinated, monoanionic pi radicals, (L(Me)(*))(1)(-), of the parent S-methyl-1-phenyl-isothiosemicarbazide(2-) dianion in the basal positions whereas the axial position is occupied by methylthiolate in 1 and chloride in 2, respectively. The electronic structure of both species has been elucidated by their electronic spectra, magnetic properties, and X-band EPR and M?ssbauer spectra. Both possess an S(t) = (1)/(2) ground state which is attained via an antiferromagnetic coupling between the spins of an intermediate spin ferric ion (S(Fe) = (3)/(2)) and two ligand pi radical anions (S(rad) = (1)/(2)).  相似文献

Three bis-tetradentate acyclic amine ligands differing only in the arm length of the pyridine pendant arms attached to the 4,6-positions of the pyrimidine ring, namely, 4,6-bis[N,N-bis(2'-pyridylethyl)aminomethyl]-2-phenylpyrimidine (L(Et)), 4,6-bis[N,N-bis(2'-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl]-2-phenylpyrimidine (L(Me)), and 4,6-[(2'-pyridylmethyl)-2'-pyridylethyl)aminomethyl]-2-phenylpyrimidine (L(Mix)) have been used to synthesize nine air-sensitive diiron(II) complexes: [Fe(II)(2)L(Et)(NCS)(4)]·MeOH·(3)/(4)H(2)O (1·MeOH·(3)/(4)H(2)O), [Fe(II)(2)L(Et)(NCSe)(4)]·H(2)O (2·H(2)O), [Fe(II)(2)L(Et)(NCBH(3))(4)]·(5)/(2)H(2)O (3·(5)/(2)H(2)O), [Fe(II)(2)L(Me)(NCS)(4)]·(1)/(2)H(2)O (4·(1)/(2)H(2)O), [Fe(II)(2)L(Me)(NCSe)(4)] (5), [Fe(II)(2)L(Me)(NCBH(3))(4)]·(3)/(2)H(2)O (6·(3)/(2)H(2)O), [Fe(II)(2)L(Mix)(NCS)(4)]·(1)/(2)H(2)O (7·(1)/(2)H(2)O), [Fe(II)(2)L(Mix)(NCSe)(4)]·(3)/(2)H(2)O (8·(3)/(2)H(2)O), and [Fe(II)(2)L(Mix)(NCBH(3))(4)]·(3)/(2)H(2)O (9·(3)/(2)H(2)O). Complexes 3·(5)/(2)H(2)O, 4·(1)/(2)H(2)O, 5, 6·(3)/(2)H(2)O, and 8·(3)/(2)H(2)O were structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography, revealing, in all cases, both of the iron(II) centers in an octahedral environment with two NCE (E = S, Se, or BH(3)) anions in a cis-position relative to one another. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements showed that all nine diiron(II) complexes are stabilized in the [HS-HS] state from 300 K to 4 K, and exhibit weak antiferromagnetic coupling. M?ssbauer spectroscopy confirmed the spin and oxidation states of eight of the nine complexes (the synthesis of air-sensitive complex 3 was not readily reproduced).  相似文献
