A ring R is called left P-coherent in case each principal left ideal of R is finitely presented. A left R-module M (resp. right R-module N) is called D-injective (resp. D-flat) if Ext1(G, M) = 0 (resp. Tor1(N, G) = 0) for every divisible left R-module G. It is shown that every left R-module over a left P-coherent ring R has a divisible cover; a left R-module M is D-injective if and only if M is the kernel of a divisible precover A → B with A injective; a finitely presented right R-module L over a left P-coherent ring R is D-flat if and only if L is the cokernel of a torsionfree preenvelope K → F with F flat. We also study the divisible and torsionfree dimensions of modules and rings. As applications, some new characterizations of von Neumann regular rings and PP rings are given.  相似文献

A right module M over a ring R is said to be retractable if Hom R (M, N) ≠ 0 for each nonzero submodule N of M. We show that M ? R RG is a retractable RG-module if and only if M R is retractable for every finite group G. The ring R is (finitely) mod-retractable if every (finitely generated) right R-module is retractable. Some comparisons between max rings, semiartinian rings, perfect rings, noetherian rings, nonsingular rings, and mod-retractable rings are investigated. In particular, we prove ring-theoretical criteria of right mod-retractability for classes of all commutative, left perfect, and right noetherian rings.  相似文献

Let R be any ring. A right R-module M is called n-copure projective if Ext1(M, N) = 0 for any right R-module N with fd(N) ≤ n, and M is said to be strongly copure projective if Ext i (M, F) = 0 for all flat right R-modules F and all i ≥ 1. In this article, firstly, we present some general properties of n-copure projective modules and strongly copure projective modules. Then we define and investigate copure projective dimensions of modules and rings. Finally, more properties and applications of n-copure projective modules, strongly copure projective modules and copure projective dimensions are given over coherent rings with finite self-FP-injective dimension.  相似文献

Let R be an arbitrary ring with identity and M a right R-module with S = EndR(M). Let F be a fully invariant submodule of M and I?1(F) denotes the set {mM:Im?F} for any subset I of S. The module M is called F-Baer if I?1(F) is a direct summand of M for every left ideal I of S. This work is devoted to the investigation of properties of F-Baer modules. We use F-Baer modules to decompose a module into two parts consists of a Baer module and a module determined by fully invariant submodule F, namely, for a module M, we show that M is F-Baer if and only if M = FN where N is a Baer module. By using F-Baer modules, we obtain some new results for Baer rings.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and M a fixed right R-module. A new characterization of M-flatness is given by certain linear equations. For a left R-module F such that the canonical map M? R F → Hom R (M?, F) is injective, where M? = Hom R (M, R), the M-flatness of F is characterized via certain matrix subgroups. An example is given to show that R need not be M-coherent even if every left R-module is M-flat. Moreover, some properties of M-coherent rings are discussed.  相似文献

An R-module M is called strongly duo if Tr(N, M) = N for every N ≤ M R . Several equivalent conditions to being strongly duo are given. If M R is strongly duo and reduced, then End R (M) is a strongly regular ring and the converse is true when R is a Dedekind domain and M R is torsion. Over certain rings, nonsingular strongly duo modules are precisely regular duo modules. If R is a Dedekind domain, then M R is strongly duo if and only if either MR or M R is torsion and duo. Over a commutative ring, strongly duo modules are precisely pq-injective duo modules and every projective strongly duo module is a multiplication module. A ring R is called right strongly duo if R R is strongly duo. Strongly regular rings are precisely reduced (right) strongly duo rings. A ring R is Noetherian and all of its factor rings are right strongly duo if and only if R is a serial Artinian right duo ring.  相似文献

A right module M over a ring R is said to be ADS if for every decomposition M = ST and every complement T′ of S, we have M = ST′. In this article, we study and provide several new characterizations of this new class of modules. We prove that M is semisimple if and only if every module in σ[M] is ADS. SC and SI rings also characterized by the ADS notion. A ring R is right SC-ring if and only if every 2-generated singular R-module is ADS.  相似文献

Let M be a left R-module. Then M is a McCoy (resp., dual McCoy) module if for nonzero f(X)∈R[X] and m(X)∈M[X], f(X)m(X) = 0 implies there exists a nonzero rR (resp., mM) with rm(X) = 0 (resp., f(X)m = 0). We show that for R commutative every R-module is dual McCoy, but give an example of a non-McCoy module. A number of other results concerning (dual) McCoy modules as well as arithmetical, Gaussian, and Armendariz modules are given.  相似文献

All rings are commutative with identity and all modules are unital. Anderson proved that a submodule N of an R-module M is multiplication (resp. join principal) if and only if 0(+) N is a multiplication (resp. join principal) ideal or R(M). The idealization of M. In this article we develop more fully the tool of idealization of a module, particularly in the context of multiplication modules, generalizing Anderson's theorems and discussing the behavior under idealization of some ideals and some submodules associated with a module.  相似文献

Let R be any ring with identity. Let N(R) (resp. J(R)) denote the prime radical (resp. Jacobson radical) of R, and let Spec r (R) (resp. Spec l (R), Max r (R), Prim r (R)) denote the set of all right prime ideals (resp. all left prime ideals, all maximal right ideals, all right primitive ideals) of R. In this article, we study the relationships among various ring-theoretic properties and topological conditions on Spec r (R) (with weak Zariski topology). The following results are obtained: (1) R/N(R) is a Gelfand ring if and only if Spec r (R) is a normal space if and only if Spec l (R) is a normal space; (2) R/J(R) is a Gelfand ring if and only if every right prime ideal containing J(R) is contained in a unique maximal right ideal.  相似文献

Let R be a left coherent ring. We first prove that a right R-module M is strongly copure flat if and only if Ext i (M, C) = 0 for all flat cotorsion right R-modules C and i ≥ 1. Then we define and investigate copure flat dimensions of left coherent rings. Finally, we give some new characterizations of n-FC rings.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study the dual notion of simple-direct-injective modules. Namely, a right R-module M is called simple-direct-projective if, whenever A and B are submodules of M with B simple and M/A ? B ?M, then A ?M. Several characterizations of simple-direct-projective modules are provided and used to describe some well-known classes of rings. For example, it is shown that a ring R is artinian and serial with J2(R) = 0 if and only if every simple-direct-projective right R-module is quasi-projective if and only if every simple-direct-projective right R -module is a D3-module. It is also shown that a ring R is uniserial with J2(R) = 0 if and only if every simple-direct-projective right R-module is a C3-module if and only if every simple-direct-injective right R -module is a D3-module.  相似文献

R is called a left PS (resp. left min-coherent, left universally mininjective) ring if every simple left ideal is projective (resp. finitely presented, a direct summand of R). We first investigate when the endomorphism ring of a module is a PS ring, a min-coherent ring, or a universally mininjective ring. Then we characterize PS rings and universally mininjective rings in terms of endomorphisms of mininjective and min-flat modules. Finally, we study commutative min-coherent rings and (universally) mininjective rings using properties of homomorphism modules of special modules.  相似文献

We carry out an extensive study of modules M R with the property that M/f(M) is singular for all injective endomorphisms f of M. Such modules called “quasi co-Hopfian”, generalize co-Hopfian modules. It is shown that a ring R is semisimple if and only if every quasi co-Hopfian R-module is co-Hopfian. Every module contains a unique largest fully invariant quasi co-Hopfian submodule. This submodule is determined for some modules including the semisimple ones. Over right nonsingular rings several equivalent conditions to being quasi co-Hopfian are given. Modules with all submodules quasi co-Hopfian are called “completely quasi co-Hopfian” (cqcH). Over right nonsingular rings and over certain right Noetherian rings, it is proved that every finite reduced rank module is cqcH. For a right nonsingular ring which is right semi-Artinian (resp. right FBN) the class of cqcH modules is the same as the class of finite reduced rank modules if and only if there are only finitely many isomorphism classes of nonsingular R-modules which are simple (resp. indecomposable injective).  相似文献

A ring R is called “left generalized morphic” if for every element a in R, there exists b ∈ R such that l(a)? R/Rb, where l(a) denotes the left annihilator of a in R. The aim of this article is to investigate these rings. Several examples are given. They include left morphic rings and left p.p. rings. As applications, some homological dimensions over these rings are defined and studied.  相似文献

A ring R is called a left APP-ring if for each element aR, the left annihilator lR(Ra) is right s-unital as an ideal of R or equivalently RlR(Ra) is flat as a left R-module. In this paper, we show that for a ring R and derivation δ of R, R is left APP if and only if R is δ-weakly rigid and the differential polynomial ring R[x;δ] is left APP. As a consequence, we see that if R is a left APP-ring, then the nth Weyl algebra over R is left APP. Also we define δ-left APP (resp. p.q.-Baer) rings and we show that R is left APP (resp. p.q.-Baer) if and only if for each derivation δ of R, R is δ-weakly rigid and δ-left APP (resp. p.q.-Baer). Finally we prove that R[x;δ] is left APP (resp. p.q.-Baer) if and only if R is δ-left APP (resp. p.q.-Baer).  相似文献

The left quotient ring (i.e., the left classical ring of fractions) Qcl(R) of a ring R does not always exist and still, in general, there is no good understanding of the reason why this happens. In this article, existence of the largest left quotient ring Ql(R) of an arbitrary ring R is proved, i.e., Ql(R) = S0(R)?1R where S0(R) is the largest left regular denominator set of R. It is proved that Ql(Ql(R)) = Ql(R); the ring Ql(R) is semisimple iff Qcl(R) exists and is semisimple; moreover, if the ring Ql(R) is left Artinian, then Qcl(R) exists and Ql(R) = Qcl(R). The group of units Ql(R)* of Ql(R) is equal to the set {s?1t | s, t ∈ S0(R)} and S0(R) = RQl(R)*. If there exists a finitely generated flat left R-module which is not projective, then Ql(R) is not a semisimple ring. We extend slightly Ore's method of localization to localizable left Ore sets, give a criterion of when a left Ore set is localizable, and prove that all left and right Ore sets of an arbitrary ring are localizable (not just denominator sets as in Ore's method of localization). Applications are given for certain classes of rings (semiprime Goldie rings, Noetherian commutative rings, the algebra of polynomial integro-differential operators).  相似文献
