In this paper we prove that if f is a C1 diffeomorphism that satisfies Axiom A and the strong transversality condition then it is structurally stable. J. Robbin proved this theorem for C2 diffeomorphisms. In addition to reducing the amount of differentiability necessary to prove the theorem, we also give a new proof combining the df metric of Robbin with the stable and unstable manifold proof of D. Anosov. We also prove structural stability in the neighborhood of a single hyperbolic basic set (independent of its being part of a diffeomorphism that satisfies Axiom A and the strong transversality condition). These proofs are adapted to prove the structural stability of C1 flows in another paper.  相似文献

In this paper, we define robust weak ergodicity and study the relation between robust weak ergodicity and stable ergodicity for conservative partially hyperbolic systems. We prove that a Cr(r > 1) conservative partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism is stably ergodic if it is robustly weakly ergodic and has positive (or negative) central exponents on a positive measure set. Furthermore, if the condition of robust weak ergodicity is replaced by weak ergodicity, then the diffeomophism is an almost stably ergodic system. Additionally, we show in dimension three, a Cr(r > 1) conservative partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism can be approximated by stably ergodic systems if it is robustly weakly ergodic and robustly has non-zero central exponents.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to give an uniform approach to different kinds of degenerate hyperbolic Cauchy problems. We prove that a weakly hyperbolic equation, satisfying an intermediate condition between effective hyperbolicity and the C Levi condition, and a strictly hyperbolic equation with non-regular coefficients with respect to the time variable can be reduced to first-order systems of the same type. For such a kind of systems, we prove an energy estimate in Sobolev spaces (with a loss of derivatives) which gives the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem in C. In the strictly hyperbolic case, we also construct the fundamental solution and we describe the propagation of the space singularities of the solution which is influenced by the non-regularity of the coefficients with respect to the time variable.  相似文献

We give a method for computing upper and lower bounds for the volume of a non-obtuse hyperbolic polyhedron in terms of the combinatorics of the 1-skeleton. We introduce an algorithm that detects the geometric decomposition of good 3-orbifolds with planar singular locus and underlying manifold S 3. The volume bounds follow from techniques related to the proof of Thurston’s Orbifold Theorem, Schläfli’s formula, and previous results of the author giving volume bounds for right-angled hyperbolic polyhedra.  相似文献

In this paper we study centers of planar polynomial Hamiltonian systems and we are interested in the isochronous ones. We prove that every center of a polynomial Hamiltonian system of degree four (that is, with its homogeneous part of degree four not identically zero) is nonisochronous. We introduce an algorithm which transforms every four-dimensional cubulation into a cusped finite-volume hyperbolic four-manifold. Combinatorially distinct cubulations give rise to topologically distinct manifolds. Using this algorithm we construct the first examples of finite-volume hyperbolic four-manifolds with one cusp. More generally, we show that the number of k-cusped hyperbolic four-manifolds with volume ? V grows like C V ln V for any fixed k. As a corollary, we deduce that the 3-torus bounds geometrically a hyperbolic manifold.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global existence and the asymptotic behavior of classical solution of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear hyperbolic system with constant multiple and linearly degenerate characteristic fields. We prove that the global C1 solution exists uniquely if the BV norm of the initial data is sufficiently small. Based on the existence result on the global classical solution, we show that, when the time t tends to the infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 traveling wave solutions. Finally, we give an application to the equation for time-like extremal surfaces in the Minkowski space-time R1+n.  相似文献

In [Xiang Zhang, The embedding flows of C hyperbolic diffeomorphisms, J. Differential Equations 250 (5) (2011) 2283-2298] Zhang proved that any local smooth hyperbolic diffeomorphism whose eigenvalues are weakly nonresonant is embedded in the flow of a smooth vector field. We present a new and more conceptual proof of such result using the Jordan-Chevalley decomposition in algebraic groups and the properties of the exponential operator.We characterize the hyperbolic smooth (resp. formal) diffeomorphisms that are embedded in a smooth (resp. formal) flow. We introduce a criterion showing that the presence of weak resonances for a diffeomorphism plus two natural conditions imply that it is not embeddable. This solves a conjecture of Zhang. The criterion is optimal, we provide a method to construct embeddable diffeomorphisms with weak resonances if we remove any of the conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, by means of a constructive method based on the existence and uniqueness of the semi-global C2 solution, we establish the local exact boundary observability for a kind of second order quasilinear hyperbolic systems. As an application, we obtain the one-sided local exact boundary observability for a kind of first order quasilinear hyperbolic systems of diagonal form with boundary conditions in which the diagonal variables corresponding to the positive eigenvalues and those corresponding to the negative eigenvalues are decoupled.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the mixed initial-boundary value problem for diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear boundary conditions on a half-unbounded domain . Under the assumptions that system is strictly hyperbolic and linearly degenerate, we obtain the global existence and uniqueness of C1 solutions with the bounded L1L norm of the initial data as well as their derivatives and appropriate boundary condition. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we also prove that when t tends to infinity, the solutions approach a combination of C1 travelling wave solutions. Under the appropriate assumptions of initial and boundary data, the results can be applied to the equation of time-like extremal surface in Minkowski space R1+(1+n).  相似文献

Let X be a non-trivial Banach space. L. Maligranda conjectured CNJ(X)?1+J2(X)/4 for James constant J(X) and von Neumann-Jordan constant CNJ(X) of X. Satit Saejung gave a proof of it in 2006. In this note, we show that the last step in Satit Saejung's proof is not valid. Using his proof, the result should be . On the other hand, we give a new proof of CNJ(X)?1+J2(X)/4. We consider mappings of the m-dimensional torus Tm (m ≥ 2) that are C 1-perturbations of linear hyperbolic automorphisms. We obtain sufficient conditions for such mappings to be one-to-one hyperbolic mappings (i.e., Anosov diffeomorphisms). These results are used to study the blue-sky catastrophe related to the vanishing of a saddle-node invariant torus with a quasiperiodic winding in a system of ordinary differential equations.  相似文献

We study partially hyperbolic attractors ofC 2 diffeomorphisms on a compact manifold. For a robust (non-empty interior) class of such diffeomorphisms, we construct Sinai-Ruelle-Bowen measures, for which we prove exponential decay of correlations and the central limit theorem, in the space of Hölder continuous functions. The techniques we develop (backward inducing, redundancy elimination algorithm) should be useful in the study of the stochastic properties of much more general non-uniformly hyperbolic systems.  相似文献

We consider the hyperbolic Casimir operator C defined on the tangent sphere bundle SY of a compact hyperbolic Riemann surface Y. We prove a non-trivial bound on the L2-norm of the restriction of eigenfunctions of C to certain natural hypersurfaces in SY. The result that we obtain goes beyond known (sharp) local bounds of L. We prove a dichotomy of C2 partially hyperbolic sets with one-dimensional center direction admitting no zero Lyapunov exponents, either hyperbolicity over the supports of ergodic measures or approximation by a heterodimensional cycle. This provides a partial result to the C1 Palis Conjecture that claims a dichotomy, hyperbolicity or homoclinic bifurcations in a dense subset of the space of C1 diffeomorphisms. Moreover, a theorem of Ma?é applied in the proof is modified to have an additional property concerning the Hausdorff distance between a periodic orbit and the support of a hyperbolic ergodic measure.  相似文献

We show that any asymptotically locally Euclidean (ALE) metric which is obstruction-flat or extended obstruction-flat must be ALE of a certain optimal order. Moreover, our proof applies to very general elliptic systems and in any dimension n ≥ 3. The proof is based on the technique of Cheeger–Tian for Ricci-flat metrics. We also apply this method to obtain a singularity removal theorem for (extended) obstruction-flat metrics with isolated C 0-orbifold singular points.  相似文献

The general stereographic projection which maps a point on a sphere with arbitrary radius to a point on a plane stereographically and its inverse projection have the Pythagorean-hodograph (PH) preserving property in the sense that they map a PH curve to another PH curve. Upon this fact, for given spatialC 1 Hermite data, we construct a spatial PH curve on a sphere that is aC 1 Hermite interpolant of the given data as follows: First, we solveC 1 Hermite interpolation problem for the stereographically projected planar data of the given data in ?3 with planar PH curves expressed in the complex representation. In this paper we show that a C real hypersurface in Cn+1 of finite D'Angelo type admitting a weakly contracting local CR automorphism is CR equivalent to a weighted homogeneous hypersurface. As an application, we show that a bounded pseudoconvex domain in Cn+1 with C boundary of finite D'Angelo type with a hyperbolic orbit accumulation point is biholomorphically equivalent to a domain defined by a weighted homogeneous polynomial.  相似文献
