Pure and tin doped zinc oxide (Sn:ZnO) thin films were prepared for the first time by NSP technique using aqueous solutions of zinc acetate dehydrate, tin (IV) chloride fendahydrate and methanol. X-ray diffraction patterns confirm that the films are polycrystalline in nature exhibiting hexagonal wurtzite type, with (0 0 2) as preferred orientation. The structural parameters such as lattice constant (‘a’ and ‘c’), crystallite size, dislocation density, micro strain, stress and texture coefficient were calculated from X-ray diffraction studies. Surface morphology was found to be modified with increasing Sn doping concentration. The ZnO films have high transmittance 85% in the visible region, and the transmittance is found to be decreased with the increase of Sn doping concentration. The corresponding optical band gap decreases from 3.25 to 3.08 eV. Room temperature photoluminescence reveals the sharp emission of strong UV peak at 400 nm (3.10 eV) and a strong sharp green luminescence at 528 nm (2.34 eV) in the Sn doped ZnO films. The electrical resistivity is found to be 106 Ω-cm at higher temperature and 105 Ω-cm at lower temperature.  相似文献

Tin dioxide (SnO2) nanoparticles having 3 nm size were synthesized by irradiating pure tin metal using high power Nd:YAG laser in deionized water. Formation of nano-SnO2 crystallites was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and AFM study. UV-vis absorption spectral studies showed a peak at 240 nm. FTIR spectrum showed a band in the range of 400-700 cm−1 which was assigned to Sn-O antisymmetric vibrations. Photoluminescence spectrum of synthesized SnO2 nanoparticles showed peak corresponding to 3.175, 2.901 and 2.613 eV respectively.  相似文献

Photoluminescence of CdS nanoparticles embedded in a starch matrix   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
CdS nanoparticles were synthesized by precipitation in aqueous solution using starch as the capping molecule, and the effect of the pH of the solution on the optical absorption, photoluminescence, and size of the nanoparticles was studied. Absorption spectra, obtained by photoacoustic spectroscopy, indicated that the band gap energy of the crystalline nanoparticles decreased from 2.68 eV down to 2.48 eV by increasing the pH of the solution from 9 up to 14. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the CdS nanoparticles were of zinc blende structure, and that the particle size increased from 1.35 nm up to 2.45 nm with increasing pH. In addition, temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) measurements of the capped material showed a blue-shift of the emission peak for temperatures higher than 150 K, indicating the influence of starch on the formation of defect levels on the surface of the CdS nanoparticles.  相似文献

Epitaxially grown ZnO thin film on 6H-SiC(0 0 0 1) substrate was prepared by using a spin coating-pyrolysis with a zinc naphthenate precursor. As-deposited film was pyrolyzed at 500 °C for 10 min in air and finally annealed at 800 °C for 30 min in air. In-plane alignment of the film was investigated by X-ray pole-figure analysis. Field emission-scanning electron microscope, scanning probe microscope, and He-Cd laser (325 nm) was used to analyze the surface morphology, the surface roughness and photoluminescence of the films. In the photoluminescence spectra, near-band-edge emission with a broad deep-level emission was observed. The position of the near-band-edge peak was around 3.27 eV.  相似文献

In this work the preparation, characterization and photoluminescence studies of pure and copper-doped ZnS nanophosphors are reported, which are prepared by using solid-state reaction technique at a temperature of 100 °C. The as-obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-VIS Reflectance spectroscopy. The XRD analysis confirms the formation of cubic phase of undoped as well as Cu2+-doped ZnS nanoparticles. Furthermore it shows that the average size of pure as well as copper-doped samples ranges from 15 to 50 nm. The room-temperature PL spectra of the undoped ZnS sample showed two main peaks centered at around 421 and 450 nm, which are the characteristic emissions of interstitial zinc and sulfur vacancies, respectively. The PL of the doped sample showed a broad-band emission spectrum centered at 465 nm accompanied with shoulders at around 425, 450 and 510 nm, which are the characteristic emission peaks of interstitial zinc, sulfur vacancies and Cu2+ ions, respectively. Our experimental results indicate that the PL spectrum confirms the presence of Cu2+ ions in the ZnS nanoparticles as expected.  相似文献

Sm3+-doped zinc oxide nanophosphors were synthesized by solution combustion method. The size of the ZnO:Sm3+ nanostructures ranges from 40-60 nm. The photoluminescence spectra of ZnO:Sm3+ nanostructures is different from that of pure ZnO. The emission spectra of ZnO:Sm3+ nanostructures show a strong narrow emission peak at 425 nm and weak peaks at 457, 472 and 482 nm when excited with 255 nm.  相似文献

We have studied luminescence enhancement of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles with the average size of 30 nm on several metal surfaces at low temperatures. Bandedge luminescence originated from bound exciton (BE) annihilation is observed at 3.360 eV, and strongly depends on the kind and surface roughness of metal. The luminescence intensity is about 10 times larger for Ag surface than that for quartz surface. Furthermore, the luminescence increases remarkably when the roughness of Ag surface is almost the same as the particle size. The intensity ratio of the fast decay component to the slow one decreases for Ag surface compared with quartz. These results suggest that the luminescence enhancement is partially attributed to suppressing of the nonradiative recombination process in ZnO nanoparticles on metal surface.  相似文献

We report the formation of mesoporous zinc sulphide, composed by the fine network of nanoparticles, which was formed via a single precursor Zn(SOCCH3)2Lut2 complex. The complex was chemically synthesized using zinc carbonate basic, 3,5-lutidine and thioacetic acid, in air. The metal precursor complex was characterized using different conventional techniques. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) result indicates that the decomposition of the complex starts at 100 °C and continues up to 450 °C, finally yielding ZnS. ZnS nanocrystals were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), N2-sorption isotherm, UV-vis spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The grain diameter of nanocrystals was found to be 4-5 nm. The material followed Type-IV N2-sorption isotherm, which is the characteristic of mesoporous materials. The band gap energy, as obtained from optical measurements was around 3.8 eV.  相似文献

Colloidal cupric oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were formed by using a colloid-thermal synthesis process. X-ray diffraction patterns, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images, high-resolution TEM images, and X-ray energy dispersive spectrometry profiles showed that the colloidal CuO nanoparticles were formed. The optical band-gap energy of CuO nanoparticles at 300 K, as determined from the absorbance spectrum, was 3.63 eV. A photoluminescence spectrum at 300 K showed that a dominant emission peak appeared at the blue region. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy profiles showed that the O 1s and the Cu 2p peaks corresponding to the CuO nanoparticles were observed.  相似文献

Zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized using chemical method in alcohol base. During synthesis three capping agents, i.e. triethanolamine (TEA), oleic acid and thioglycerol, were used and the effect of concentrations was analyzed for their effectiveness in limiting the particle growth. Thermal stability of ZnO nanoparticles prepared using TEA, oleic acid and thioglycerol capping agents, was studied using thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). ZnO nanoparticles capped with TEA showed maximum weight loss. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used for structural and morphological characterization of ZnO nanoparticles. Particle size was evaluated using effective mass approximation method from UV-vis spectroscopy and Scherrer's formula from XRD patterns. XRD analysis revealed single crystal ZnO nanoparticles of size 12-20 nm in case of TEA capping. TEA, oleic acid and thioglycerol capped synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were investigated at room temperature photoluminescence for three excitation wavelengths i.e. 304, 322 and 325 nm, showing strong peaks at about 471 nm when excited at 322 and 325 nm whereas strong peak was observed at 411 for 304 nm excitation.  相似文献

This work reports the synthesis of indium oxide nanoparticles and their thermal, structural, microstructural and optical characterization. The preparation method is based on a surfactant-free room temperature soft chemistry route. Spherical indium oxide nanoparticles (about 8 nm in diameter) were obtained after thermal treatment of gels at 400 °C for 2 h, as shown by X-ray diffraction experiments and nitrogen adsorption measurements. Transmission electron microscopy observations confirm the single-crystalline nature of the produced nanoparticles. The photoluminescence emission spectrum at room temperature shows a broad peak with onset at approximately 315 nm as a result of quantum size effect as revealed by small-angle X-ray scattering.  相似文献

We report a simple soft chemical method for the synthesis of ZnS nanoparticles using varying concentration of cationic surfactant CTAB and examine its surface properties. Powder X-ray diffraction, UV-vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, selective area electron diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy are used to characterize the as prepared ZnS nanoparticles. XRD and TEM measurements show the size of polydispersed ZnS nanoparticles is in the range of 2-5 nm with cubic phase structure. The photoluminescence spectrum of ZnS nanoparticles exhibits four fluorescence emission peaks centered at 387 nm, 412 nm, 489 nm and 528 nm showing the application potential for the optical devices. In Raman spectra of ZnS nanoparticles, the modes around 320, 615 and 700 cm−1 are observed.  相似文献

Zinc oxide/zinc germanium oxide (ZnO/Zn2GeO4) porous-like thin film and wires has been fabricated by simple thermal evaporation method at temperature about 1120 °C for 2.5 h. The structural and optical properties of the porous-like-thin film and wires have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. Metal semiconductor metal (MSM) photodetector structure was used to evaluate the electrical characteristics by using current-voltage (I-V) measurements. Room temperature photoluminescence spectrum of the sample shows one prominent ultraviolet peak at 378 nm and a shoulder at 370 nm. In addition, broad visible blue emission peak at wavelength 480 nm and green emission peak at 500 nm are also observed. Strong photoelectric properties of the MSM in the UV demonstrated that the porous-like-thin film and wires contribute to its photosensitivity and therefore making ZnO/Zn2GeO4 wires potential photodetector in the shorter wavelength applications.  相似文献

Manganese nanoparticles were grown in silica glass and silica film on silicon substrate by annealing of the sol-gel prepared porous silicate matrices doped with manganese nitrate. Annealing of doped porous silicate matrices was performed at various conditions that allowed to obtain the nanocomposite glasses with various content of metallic Mn. TEM of Mn/SiO2 glass indicates the bimodal size distribution of Mn nanoparticles with mean sizes of 10.5 nm and 21 nm. The absorption and photoluminescence spectra of Mn/SiO2 glasses were measured. In the absorption spectra at 300 nm (4.13 eV) we observed the band attributed to the surface plasmon resonance in Mn nanoparticles. The spectra proved the creation of Mn2+ and Mn3+ ions in silica glass as well. The absorption spectra of Mn/SiO2 glasses annealed in air prove the creation of manganese oxide Mn2O3. The measured reflection spectra of Mn/SiO2 film manifest at 240-310 nm the peculiarity attributed to surface plasmons in Mn nanoparticles.  相似文献

Single phase zinc ferrite (ZnFe2O4) nanoparticles have been prepared by the coprecipitation method without any subsequent calcination. The effects of precipitation temperature in the range 20–80 °C on the structural and the magnetic properties of zinc ferrite nanoparticles were investigated. The crystallite size, microstructure and magnetic properties of the prepared nanoparticles were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transmission infrared spectrum, transmission electron microscope (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer and vibrating sample magnetometer. The XRD results showed that the coprecipitated nanoparticles were single phase zinc ferrite with mixture of normal and inverse spinel structures. Furthermore, ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles have the crystallite size in the range 5–10 nm, as confirmed by TEM. The magnetic measurements exhibited that the zinc ferrite nanoparticles synthesized at 40 °C were superparamagnetic with the maximum magnetization of 7.3 emu/g at 10 kOe.  相似文献

ZnS nanoparticles were prepared by a simple chemical method and using PVP (poly vinylpyrrolidone) as capping agent. The sample was characterized by UV-vis spectrophotometer, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Z-scan technique. XRD pattern showed that the ZnS nanoparticles had zinc blende structure with an average size of about 2.18 nm. The value of band gap of these nanoparticles was measured to be 4.20 eV. The nonlinear optical properties of ZnS nanoparticles in aqueous solution were studied by Z-scan technique using CW He-Ne laser at 632.8 nm. The nonlinear absorption coefficient (β) was estimated to be as high as 3.2×10−3 cm/W and the nonlinear refractive index (n2) was in order of 10−8 cm2/W. The sign of the nonlinear refractive index obtained negative that indicated this material exhibits self-defocusing optical nonlinearity.  相似文献

Nickel nanoparticles were grown in silica glass by annealing of the sol-gel prepared silicate matrices doped with nickel nitrate. TEM characterization of Ni/SiO2 glass proves the formation of isolated spherical nickel nanoparticles with mean sizes 6.7 and 20 nm depending on annealing conditions. The absorption and photoluminescence spectra of Ni/SiO2 glasses were measured. In the absorption spectra, we observed the band related to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) in Ni nanoparticles. The broadening of SPR was observed with decrease of Ni nanoparticle size. The width of the surface plasmon band decreases 1.5 times at the lowering of temperature from 293 to 2 K because of strong electron-phonon interaction. The spectra proved the creation of nickel oxide NiO clusters and Ni2+ ions in silica glass as well.  相似文献

Mn-doped Zn2SiO4 phosphors with different morphology and crystal structure, which show different luminescence and photoluminescence intensity, were synthesized via a low-temperature hydrothermal route without further calcining treatment. As-synthesized zinc silicate nanostructures show green or yellow luminescence depending on their different crystal structure obtained under different preparation conditions. The yellow peak occurring at 575 nm comes from the β-phase zinc silicate, while the green peak centering at 525 nm results from the usual α-phase zinc silicate. From photoluminescence spectra, it is found that Zn2SiO4 nanorods have higher photoluminescence intensity than Zn2SiO4 nanoparticles. It can be ascribed to reduced surface-damaged region and high crystallinity of nanorods.  相似文献

ZnO nanosheet thin films have been synthesized through a solvothermal route. These obtained nanosheets disperse quasi-vertically and homogenously on the copper substrates and range in thickness from 80 nm to 250 nm. The as-grown nanosheet thin films were then annealed in the oxygen-presented atmosphere. Field emission plots indicate that the value of turn-on field is reduced from 2.86 V/μm to 1.52 V/μm and the corresponding value of threshold field decreases from 7.19 V/μm to 4.45 V/μm after annealing processing. Room temperature photoluminescence spectrum from the sample annealed at 850 °C in almost pure oxygen atmosphere shows only UV emission and a blue shift while the visible light band is unobservable compared with those of the other two samples, indicating that the crystalline quality of the obtained zinc oxide nanosheet thin films is greatly improved through annealing treatment. This solution approach combined with annealing treatment can, therefore, be regarded as a convenient route to fabricate high-quality crystalline ZnO nanomaterials.  相似文献
