With glycine or L-alanine as ligands, a series of novel 3d-4f heterometallic Ln(6)Cu(24) clusters with the formulas of [Sm(6)Cu(24)(mu(3)-OH)(30)(Gly)(12)(Ac)(12)(ClO(4))(H(2)O)(16)].(ClO(4))(9).(OH)(2).(H(2)O)(31) (1) and [Ln(6)Cu(24)(mu(3)-OH)(30)(Ala)(12)(Ac)(6)(ClO(4))(H(2)O)(12)].(ClO(4))(10).(OH)(7).(H(2)O)(34) (2.Ln) (Ln = Tb, Gd, Sm, and La) were synthesized by self-assembly, among which 1 and 2.Tb were characterized by X-ray structure analysis. The metal skeleton of the clusters may be described as a huge [Ln(6)Cu(12)] octahedron (constructed with 6 Ln(III) ions located at the vertices and 12 inner Cu(II) ions located at the midpoints of the edges) connected by 12 additional Cu(II) ions (every 2 are connected to 1 Ln(III) vertex). The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibilities of 2.Ln was investigated and was found to vary with the central rare-earth ions. Impedance spectroscopic measurements of 2.Ln reveal that they are ionic conductors.  相似文献

The enantiomers of N,N'-bis(1-phenylethyl)-2,6-pyridinedicarboxamide (L), namely, (R,R)-1, and (S,S)-1, react with Ln(III) ions to give stable [LnL(3)](3+) complexes in an anhydrous acetonitrile solution and in the solid state, as evidenced by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, NMR, luminescence titrations, and their X-ray crystal structures, respectively. All [LnL(3)](3+) complexes [Ln(III) = Eu, Gd, Tb, and Yb; L = (R,R)-1 and (S,S)-1] are isostructural and crystallize in the cubic space group I23. Although the small quantum yields of the Ln(III)-centered luminescence clearly point to the poor efficiency of the luminescence sensitization by the ligand and the intersystem crossing and ligand-to-metal energy transfers, the ligand triplet-excited-state energy seems relatively well suited to sensitize many Ln(III) ion's emission for instance, in the visible (Eu and Tb), near-IR (Nd and Yb), or both regions (Pr, Sm, Dy, Er, and Tm).  相似文献

The pinene-bipyridine carboxylic derivatives (+)- and (-)-HL, designed to form configurationally stable lanthanide complexes, proved their effectiveness as chiral building blocks for the synthesis of lanthanide-containing superstructures. Indeed a self-assembly process takes place with complete diastereoselectivity between the enantiomerically pure ligand L(-) and Ln(III) ions (La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er), thus leading to the quantitative formation of a trinuclear supramolecular architecture with the general formula [Ln(3)(L)(6)(mu(3)-OH)(H(2)O)(3)](ClO(4))(2) (abbreviated as tris(Ln[L](2))). This class of C(3)-symmetrical compounds was structurally characterized in the solid state and solution. Electrospray (ES) mass spectrometric and (1)H NMR spectroscopic analyses indicated that the trinuclear species are maintained in solution (CH(2)Cl(2)) and are stable in the investigated concentration range (10(-2)-10(-6) m). The photophysical properties of the ligand HL and its tris(Ln[L](2)) complexes were studied at room temperature and 77 K, thus demonstrating that the metal-centered luminescence is well sensitized both for the visible and near-IR emitters. The chiroptical properties of tris(Ln[L](2)) complexes were investigated by means of circular dichroism (CD) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). A high CD activity is displayed in the region of pi-pi* transitions of bipyridine. CPL spectra of tris(Eu[(+)-L](2)) and tris(Tb[(+)-L](2)) present large dissymmetry factors g(em) for the sensitive transitions of Eu(III) ((5)D(0)-->(7)F(1), g(em)=-0.088) and Tb(III) ((5)D(4)-->(7)F(5), g(em)=-0.0806). The self-recognition capabilities of the system were tested in the presence of artificial enantiomeric mixtures of the ligand. (1)H NMR spectra identical to those of the enantiomerically pure complexes and investigations by CD spectroscopic analysis reveal an almost complete chiral self-recognition in the self-assembly process, thus leading to mixtures of homochiral trinuclear structures.  相似文献

Reactions of lanthanide(III) perchlorate (Ln = Dy, Tb, and Gd), nickel(II) acetate, and ditopic ligand 2-(benzothiazol-2-ylhydrazonomethyl)-6-methoxyphenol (H(2)L) in a mixture of methanol and acetone in the presence of NaOH resulted in the successful assembly of novel Ln(2)Ni(2) heterometallic clusters representing a new heterometallic 3d-4f motif. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that all compounds are isostructural, with the central core composed of distorted [Ln(2)Ni(2)O(4)] cubanes of the general formula [Ln(2)Ni(2)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(OH)(OAc)(4)(HL)(2)(MeOH)(3)](ClO(4))·3MeOH [Ln = Dy (1), Tb (2), and Gd (3)]. The magnetic properties of all compounds have been investigated. Magnetic analysis on compound 3 indicates ferromagnetic Gd···Ni exchange interactions competing with antiferromagnetic Ni···Ni interactions. Compound 1 displays slow relaxation of magnetization, which is largely attributed to the presence of the anisotropic Dy(III) ions, and thus represents a new discrete [Dy(2)Ni(2)] heterometallic cubane exhibiting probable single-molecule magnetic behavior.  相似文献

The syntheses, structural determinations and magnetic studies of tetranuclear M(II)Ln(III) complexes (M = Ni, Zn; Ln = Y, Gd, Dy) involving an in situ compartmentalized schiff base ligand HL derived from the condensation of o-vanillin and 2-hydrazinopyridine as main ligand are described. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that all complexes are closely isostructural, with the central core composed of distorted {M(2)Ln(2)O(4)} cubes of the formulas [Ni(2)Ln(2)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(L)(2)(OAc)(4)(H(2)O)(3.5)](ClO(4))(2)·3H(2)O (Ln = Y 1 and Gd 2), [Ni(2)Dy(2)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(L)(2)(OAc)(5)(EtOH)(H(2)O)(1.5)](ClO(4))·EtOH·H(2)O (3) and [Zn(2)Ln(2)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(L)(2)(OAc)(5)(EtOH)(H(2)O)](ClO(4))·2EtOH·1.5H(2)O (Gd 4 and Dy 5). The Ln(III) ions are linked by two hydroxo bridges and each M(II) ion is also involved in a double phenoxo-hydroxo bridge with the two Ln(III) ions, so that each hydroxo group is triply linked to the two Ln(III) and one M(II) ions. The magnetic properties of all complexes have been investigated. Ni(2)Y(2) (1) has a ferromagnetic Ni(II)Ni(II) interaction. A weak ferromagnetic Ni(II)Ln(III) interaction is observed in the Ni(2)Ln(2) complexes (Ln = Gd 2, Dy 3), along with a weak antiferromagnetic Ln(III)Ln(III) interaction, a D zero-field splitting term for the nickel ion and a ferromagnetic Ni(II)Ni(II) interaction. The isomorphous Zn(2)Ln(2) (Ln = Gd 4, Dy 5) does confirm the presence of a weak antiferromagnetic Ln(III)Ln(III) interaction. The Ni(2)Dy(2) complex (3) does not behave as a SMM, which could result from a subtractive combination of the Dy and Ni anisotropies and an increased transverse anisotropy, leading to large tunnel splittings and quantum tunneling of magnetization. On the other hand, Zn(2)Dy(2) (5) exhibits a possible SMM behavior, where its slow relaxation of magnetization is probably attributed to the presence of the anisotropic Dy(III) ions.  相似文献

Reactions of 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triyl-tris(methylenephosphonic acid) [notpH(6), C(9)H(18)N(3)(PO(3)H(2))3] with different lanthanide salts result in four types of Ln-notp compounds: [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(NO(3))(H(2)O)].4H2O (1), [Ln = Eu (1 Eu), Gd (1 Gd), Tb (1 Tb)], [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(H2O)]Cl.3H2O (2) [Ln = Eu (2 Eu), Gd (2 Gd), Tb (2 Tb)], [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(H2O)]ClO4.8H2O, (3) [Ln = Eu (3 Eu), Gd (3 Gd)], and [Ln{C(9)H(20)N(3)(PO(3)H)(2)(PO(3))}(H2O)]ClO4.3H2O (4), [Ln = Gd (4 Gd), Tb (4 Tb)]. Compounds within each type are isostructural. In compounds 1, dimers of {Ln2(notpH4)2(NO3)2(H2O)2} are found, in which the two lanthanide atoms are connected by two pairs of O-P-O and one pair of mu-O bridges. The NO3- ion serves as a bidentate terminal ligand. Compounds 2 contain similar dimeric units of {Ln2(notpH4)2(H2O)2} that are further connected by a pair of O-P-O bridges into an alternating chain. The Cl- ions are involved in the interchain hydrogen-bonding networks. A similar chain structure is also found in compounds 3; in this case, however, the chains are linked by ClO4- counterions through hydrogen-bonding interactions, forming an undulating layer in the (011) plane. These layers are fused through hydrogen-bonding interactions, leading to a three-dimensional supramolecular network with large channels in the [100] direction. Compounds 4 show an interesting brick-wall-like layer structure in which the neighboring lanthanide atoms are connected by a pair of O-P-O bridges. The ClO4- counterions and the lattice water molecules are between the layers. In all compounds the triazamacrocyclic nitrogen atoms are not coordinated to the Ln(III) ions. The anions and the pH are believed to play key roles in directing the formation of a particular structure. The fluorescence spectroscopic properties of the Eu and Tb compounds, magnetic properties of the Gd compounds, and the catalytic properties of 4 Gd were also studied.  相似文献

Eight new lanthanide metal complexes [LnL(NO(3))(2)]NO(3) {Ln(III) = Nd, Dy, Sm, Pr, Gd, Tb, La and Er, L = bis-(salicyladehyde)-1,3-propylenediimine Schiff base ligand} were prepared. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), molar conductivity measurements and spectral studies ((1)H NMR, FT-IR, UV-vis, and luminescence). The Schiff base ligand coordinates to Ln(III) ion in a tetra-dentate manner through the phenolic oxygen and azomethine nitrogen atoms. The coordination number of eight is achieved by involving two bi-dentate nitrate groups in the coordination sphere. Sm, Tb and Dy complexes exhibit the characteristic luminescence emissions of the central metal ions attributed to efficient energy transfer from the ligand to the metal center. Most of the complexes exhibit antibacterial activity against a number of pathogenic bacteria.  相似文献

(Z)-4-(4-Methoxyphenoxy)-4-oxobut-2-enoic acid and its solid rare earth complexes LnL3.2H2O (Ln=La, Eu, Tb) were synthesized and characterized by means of MS, elemental analysis, FTIR, 13C NMR and TG-DTA. The IR and 13C NMR results show that the carboxylic groups in the complexes coordinated to the rare earth ions in the form of a bidentate ligand, but the ester carboxylic groups have not taken part in the coordination. The luminescence spectra of Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes in solid state were also studied. The strong luminescence emitting peaks at 616nm for Eu(III) and 547nm for Tb(III) can be observed, which could be attributed to the ligand has an enhanced effect to the luminescence intensity of the Eu and Tb.  相似文献

Four novel high-nuclear 3d-4f heterometallic clusters were obtained through the self-assembly of Ln(III), Cu(II), and amino acid ligands (2-methylalanine (mAla), glycine (Gly), and L-proline (Pro), respectively). The metal skeleton of cluster 1, [Gd6Cu24(mu3-OH)30(mAla)16(ClO4)(H2O)22].(ClO4)17.(OH)2.(H2O)2(0), may be described as a huge {Gd6Cu12} octahedron connected with 12 additional Cu(II) ions. The structure of cluster 2, Na4[Tb6Cu26(mu3-OH)30(Gly)18(ClO4)(H2O)22].(ClO4)25.(H2O)42, may be described as a {Tb6Cu24} main structure connected with two [Cu(Gly)(H2O)2]+ groups. Compounds {[Ln6Cu24(mu3-OH)30(Pro)12(Ac)6(ClO4)(H2O)13]2Cu(Pro)2}.(ClO4)18.(OH)16.(H2O)55 (Ln= Sm (3), Gd (4)) are 61-nuclear clusters, which represent the largest known 3d-4f clusters so far, the structure can be described as two {Ln6Cu24} octahedral units connected by a trans-Cu(proline)2 bridge. The electrical conductivity measurements reveal that they are temperature-sensitive semiconductors. The magnetic susceptibility measurements display that compound 4 is ferromagnetic.  相似文献

Two tripodal ligands, bis(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (L(1)) and bis(2-pyridylmethyl)(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)amine (L(2)), were synthesized. With the third chromophoric ligand antipyrine (Antipy), three series of lanthanide(III) complexes were prepared: [LnL(1)(Antipy)(3)](ClO(4))(3) (series A), [LnL(1)(Antipy)Cl(H(2)O)(2)]Cl(2)(H(2)O)(2) (series B), and [LnL(2)(NO(3))(3)] (series C). The nitrate salt of the free ligand H(2)L(1).(NO(3))(2) and six complexes were structurally characterized: Pr(3+)A, Y(3+)A, Eu(3+)B, Eu(3+)C, Gd(3+)C and Tb(3+)C, in which the two A and three C complexes are isomorphous. Crystallographic studies showed that tripodal ligands L(1) and L(2) exhibited a tripodal coordination mode and formed 1:1 complexes with all lanthanide metal ions. The coordination numbers of the lanthanide metal ions for the A, B, and C complexes were 7, 8, and 10, respectively. Conductivity studies on the B and C complexes in methanol showed that, in the former, the coordinated Cl(-) dissociated to give 3:1 electrolytes and, in the latter, two coordinated NO(3)(-) ions dissociated to give 2:1 electrolytes. Detailed photophysical studies have been performed on the free ligands and their Gd(III), Eu(III), and Tb(III) complexes in several solvents. The results show a wide range in the emission properties of the complexes, which could be rationalized in terms of the coordination situation, the (3)LC level of the complexes, and the subtle variations in the steric properties of the ligands. In particular the Eu(3+)A and Tb(3+)A complexes, in which the central metal ions were wholly coordinated by chromophoric ligands of one L(1) and three antipyrine molecules, had relatively higher emission quantum yields than their corresponding B and C complexes.  相似文献

The reactions of meso-1,2-bis(ethylsulfinyl)ethane (meso-L) with Ln(ClO(4))(3) [Ln(NO(3))(3) or Ln(NCS)(3)] in MeOH and CHCl(3) gave a series of new lanthanide coordination polymers, [[Ln(micro-meso-L)(rac-L)(2)(CH(3)OH)(2)](ClO(4))(3)](n) [Ln: La (1), Nd (2), Eu (3), Gd (4), Tb (5), Dy (6), and Yb (7)], [Yb(micro-meso-L)(1.5)(NO(3))(3)](n) (8), and [La(micro-meso-L)(2.5)(NCS)(3)](n) (9). All the structures were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 1-7 are isostructural with infinite single micro-chain structure, in which the L ligands take two kinds of coordination modes: bidentate chelating and bis-monodentate bridging. Six sulfur atoms of the sulfoxide groups around each Ln(III) center adopt alternatively the same R or S configuration in the chain. In addition, the configuration change of partial ligands occurred from the meso to the rac form when reacting with Ln(ClO(4))(3). To our knowledge, this is the first example of disulfoxide complexes with two kinds of coordination modes and three kinds of configurations (R,R, S,S, and R,S) occurring simultaneously in the same complex. 8 exhibits single-double bridging chain structure, in which dinuclear macrometallacycles formed through bridging two Yb(III) by two meso-L ligands are further linked by another meso-L ligand. In 9 each La(III) ion is linked to five other La(III) ions by five meso-L ligands to form a 5-connected 2-D (3/4,5) network containing two types of macrometallacyclic arrays: quadrilateral and triangle grids. The structural differences among 1-7, 8, and 9 show that counteranions play important roles in the framework formation of such coordination polymers. In addition, the luminescent properties of 3 and 5 were also investigated.  相似文献

The reactions of potentially hexadentate H2bbpen (N,N'-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-ethylenediamine, H2L1), H2(Cl)bbpen (N,N'-bis(5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzyl)-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine, H2L2), and H2(Br)bbpen (N,N'-bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzyl)-N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine, H2L3) with Ln(III) ions in the presence of a base in methanol resulted in three types of complexes: neutral mononuclear ([LnL(NO3)]), monocationic dinuclear ([Ln2L2(NO3)]+), and monocationic trinuclear ([Ln3L2(X)n(CH3OH)]+), where X = bridging (CH3COO-) and bidentate ligands (NO3-, CH3COO-, ClO4-) and n is 4. The formation of a complex depends on the base (hydroxide or acetate) and the size of the respective Ln(III) ion. All complexes were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and elemental analyses; in some cases, X-ray diffraction studies were also performed. The structures of the neutral mononuclear [Yb(L1)(NO3)], dinuclear [Pr2(L1)2(NO3)(H2O)]NO3.CH3OH and [Gd2(L1)2(NO3)]NO3.CH3OH.3H2O, and trinuclear [Gd3(L3)2(CH3COO)4(CH3OH)]ClO4.5CH3OH and [Sm3(L1)2(CH3COO)2(NO3)2(CH3OH)]NO3.CH3OH.3.65H2O were solved by X-ray crystallography. The [LnL(NO3)] or [Ln2L2(NO3)]+ complexes could be converted to [Ln3L2(X)n(CH3OH)]+ complexes by the addition of 1 equiv of a Ln(III) salt and 2-3 equiv of sodium acetate in methanol. The trinuclear complexes were found to be the most stable of the three types, which was evident from the presence of the intact monocationic high molecular weight parent peaks ([Ln3L2(X)n]+) in the mass spectra of all the trinuclear complexes and from the ease of conversion from the mononuclear or dinuclear to the trinuclear species. The incompatibility of the ligand denticity with the coordination requirements of the Ln(III) ions was proven to be a useful tool in the construction of multinuclear Ln(III) metal ion arrays.  相似文献

The syntheses, crystal structures and magnetic studies are reported for a series of Ln(4) clusters formulated as Ln(4)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(php)(2)(OAc)(6)(H(2)O)(2)]·4MeOH·nH(2)O (Ln = Gd (1), Tb (2), Dy (3) (n = 2) and Ho (4) (n = 0); H(2)php = 2,6-(picolinoylhydrazone)pyridine). The overall metal core of each cluster is comprised of two edge-sharing triangular Ln(3) units linked by μ(3)-OH bridges. Direct-current (dc) magnetic susceptibility studies reveal that the Ln(III) ions are very weakly coupled in all four compounds. Alternating-current (ac) magnetic susceptibility studies for 3 indicate that field-induced slow relaxation phenomenon occurs for this compound.  相似文献

Lanthanide ions, Ln(III), are known functional mimics of Ca(II) ions and have been shown to affect the bone remodeling cycle. Exploiting this disruption to the bone remodeling cycle has potential for the treatment of bone density disorders, such as osteoporosis. In an effort to find new orally active agents for these disorders, a series of Ln(III) containing complexes incorporating small, non-toxic, bidentate pyrone and pyridinone ligands have been synthesized and characterized (LnL(3), Ln = La, Eu, Gd, Tb, Yb, L = 3-oxy-2-methyl-4-pyrone (ma(-)), 3-oxy-2-ethyl-4-pyrone (ema(-)), 3-oxy-1,2-dimethyl-4-pyridinone (dpp(-)) and 3-oxy-2-methyl-4(1H)-pyridinone (mpp(-))). Preliminary biological analysis included cytotoxicity, cell uptake and bidirectional transport studies in Caco-2 cells and in vitro hydroxyapatite (HA) binding studies. The proportion of intact compounds bound to HA was calculated based on determination of Ln(III) concentration by ICP-MS and by UV-vis spectrophotometric assay of the proligand in solution. The LnL(3) species were found to have IC(50) values at least 6 times greater than that of cisplatin, >or= 98% HA-binding capacity, and permeability coefficients in the moderate range. La(dpp)(3) was ascertained to be the lead compound for the treatment of bone density disorders with the highest percentage cell uptake of 9.07 +/- 2.33% and the highest preliminary P(app) value of 3.54 +/- 2.86 x 10(-6) cm s(-1) compared to the other LnL(3) complexes tested.  相似文献

Metathesis of lanthanide tris di-tert-butyl beta-diketonates ([Ln(thd)3] Ln=Pr, Nd, Eu, Tb) with one or two equivalents of group 1 salts of the sulfur bridged binaphtholate dianion [1,1'-S(2-OC10H4But(2)-3,6)2]2-, [M2L], M=K, Li affords luminescent mono- and bis-ligand substituted complexes ML[LnL(thd)2].L; M=K, Ln=Pr , Nd , Eu and Tb (L=thf, diethyl ether or toluene) and M(thf)2[LnL2(thd)]; M=Li, Ln=Pr , Nd , Eu , Tb . The potassium salt [K2L] affords mono-L substituted complexes most cleanly, while the lithium salt [Li2L] yields the bis-L substituted complexes most cleanly. The L ligands function as antenna for the sensitised lanthanide-centred emission in Eu3+ and Tb3+ complexes. The X-ray single-crystal structures of mono- and bis-L lanthanide complexes of Nd3+ are presented.  相似文献

The hydrolysis of terminal (t)butyl-ester groups provides the novel nonadentate podand tris[2-[N-methylcarbamoyl-(6-carboxypyridine-2)-ethyl]amine] (L13) which exists as a mixture of slowly interconverting conformers in solution. At pH = 8.0 in water, its deprotonated form [L13 - 3H](3-) reacts with Ln(ClO(4))(3) to give the poorly soluble and stable podates [Ln(L13 - 3H)] (log(beta(110)) = 6.7-7.0, Ln = La-Lu). The isolated complexes [Ln(L13 - 3H)](H(2)O)(7) (Ln = Eu, 8; Tb, 9; Lu, 10) are isostructural, and their crystal structures show Ln(III) to be nine-coordinate in a pseudotricapped trigonal prismatic site defined by the donor atoms of the three helically wrapped tridentate binding units of L13. The Ln-O(carboxamide) bonds are only marginally longer than the Ln-O(carboxylate) bonds in [Ln(L13 - 3H)], thus producing a regular triple helix around Ln(III) which reverses its screw direction within the covalent Me-TREN tripod. High-resolution emission spectroscopy demonstrates that (i) the replacement of terminal carboxamides with carboxylates induces only minor electronic changes for the metallic site, (ii) the solid-state structure is maintained in water, and (iii) the metal in the podate is efficiently protected from interactions with solvent molecules. The absolute quantum yields obtained for [Eu(L13 - 3H)] (Phi(Eu)(tot)= 1.8 x 10(-3)) and [Tb(L13 - 3H)] (Phi(Eu)(tot)= 8.9 x 10(-3)) in water remain modest and strongly contrast with that obtained for the lanthanide luminescence step (Phi(Eu) = 0.28). Detailed photophysical studies assign this discrepancy to the small energy gap between the ligand-centered singlet ((1)pi pi*) and triplet ((3)pi pi*) states which limits the efficiency of the intersystem crossing process. Theoretical TDDFT calculations suggest that the connection of a carboxylate group to the central pyridine ring prevents the sizable stabilization of the triplet state required for an efficient sensitization process. The thermodynamic and electronic origins of the advantages (stability, lanthanide quantum yield) and drawbacks (solubility, sensitization) brought by the "carboxylate effect" in lanthanide complexes are evaluated for programming predetermined properties in functional devices.  相似文献

The proton and metal complex equilibria of trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine-N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(methylenephosphonic acid) (CDTP) with lanthanide(iii) ions, where Ln(III) = La(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III), Tb(III), Ho(III) and Lu(III) were studied. The stoichiometry, protonation and complex formation constants were determined by potentiometric titration at 25.0 degrees C and ionic strength of 0.1 mol dm(-3) (KCl). All metal ions form several species: [LnH4L]-, [LnH3L](2-), [LnH2L](3-), [LnHL](4-), [LnL](5-), [LnH(-1)L](6-) and [LnH(-2)L](7-) in the pH range between 2 and 11. The stability constants log beta(LnL) were found to be between 14.7 and 16.7. The studied complexes were also characterized by spectroscopic methods (31P NMR, UV-Vis absorption and emission spectroscopy). These studies allowed to reveal a distinct structural change of the Ln(III)-CDTP complex which occurs between protonated and hydroxy species in solutions at pH around 7.5. The major change is caused by the involvement of both nitrogen donors in the metal ion coordination occurring in ML species. The data obtained from UV-Vis spectroscopy allowed to draw conclusions about complex symmetry and to estimate a number of coordinated water molecules. The hydration number or more precisely the number of two OH oscillators was found to be approximately one in all species formed over the pH range between 5 and 10. The structure of the major hydroxy complex was supported by X-ray crystallographic data. The crystal structures of the Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes clearly show that the CDTP ligand is coordinated to the Ln(III) ion by two nitrogen and four oxygen atoms in such a way that only one oxygen atom from each phosphonic group is placed in the lanthanide inner sphere. The monomeric complex anion is connected to a symmetry related ion through short hydrogen bonds formed by two hydroxy ions and one water molecule. In this way the two neighbouring anions form a quasi-dimer in which one of the Ln(III) ion is seven-coordinate (two N atoms, four O atoms and one hydroxy ion) and the other is eight-coordinate (two N atoms, four O atoms, one hydroxy ion and one water molecule).  相似文献

The new heteronuclear iminodiacetic acid (H2L) complexes [LnCu6(mu 3-OH)3(HL)2(L)4](ClO4)(2).25H2O with Ln = La (1) and Tb (2) have been prepared in aqueous solution and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction to be isomorphous (crystallographic data for 1 and 2: hexagonal, P63/m; a = b = 12.6425(14) A, c = 24.541(5) A, Z = 2 (1); a = b = 12.5802(9) A, c = 24.285(4) A, Z = 2 (2)). Ln3+ was found to be located in the center of the trigonal prismatic cage formed by six Cu2+ ions, with a tricapped trigonal prismatic coordination environment of nine O atoms. The magnetic properties of complexes 1 and 2 have been studied. The results indicate the presence of ferromagnetic couplings between Tb3+ and Cu2+ in compound 2.  相似文献
