A numerical model based on ray optics formulation taking the optical path length into account was described and applied to numerical investigations on a thermal birefringence compensation scheme proposed and experimentally demonstrated by Q, Lüet al. [Opt. Quantum Electron.28 (1996) 57]. Taking into consideration the thermal lensing effects of laser rods depolarization losses and spatial intensity profiles of depolarized beams were calculated for the scheme. It was theoretically confirmed that using a polarization rotator and imaging optics effective compensation for the birefringence in rods is possible for a wide range of pumping power.  相似文献

There can be found some notable discrepancies with regard to the resonance structures when R-matrix calculations from the Opacity Project and other sources are compared with recent absolute experimental measurements of Bizau et al [Astron.Astrophts.439 387(2005)] for B-like ions N2+,O3+ and F4+.We performed close-coupling calculations based on the R-matrix formalism for the photoionizations of ions mentioned above both for the ground states and first excited states in the near threshold regions.The present results are compared with experimental ones given by Bizau et al and earlier theoretical ones.Excellent agreement is obtained between our theoretical results and the experimental photoionization cross sections.The present calculations show a significant improvement over the previous theoretical results.  相似文献

We propose a novel deterministic protocol that two senders are capable of remotely preparing arbitrary two-and three-qubit states for a remote receiver using EPR pairs and GHZ state as the quantum channel.Compared with the existing deterministic protocols [An et al.2011 Phys.Lett.A 375 3570 and Chen et al.2012 J.Phys.A:Math.Theor.45 055303],the quantum resources and classical information in our scheme are decreased,and the whole operation process is simplified.  相似文献

研制一台激光二极管(LD)侧面抽运双棒串接准连续Nd∶YAG折叠腔高功率绿光激光器,理论分析了热致双折射效应对系统的影响,并对用石英旋转片补偿前后的情况进行模拟对比。在考虑了补偿后的情况下设计了热稳定谐振腔。实验中采用两个串接的由30个20 W的LD阵列侧面抽运的Nd∶YAG棒和Ⅱ类临界相位匹配HGTR-KTP晶体,在抽运电流均为21.6 A,重复频率为27.2 kHz时,获得了最大平均输出功率为164 W,脉冲宽度为130 ns的532 nm绿光输出,光-光转换效率为13.7%,测得光束质量因子为M2x=9.52, M2y=9.86,不稳定度为2.3%。实验结果显示,经补偿后的激光系统能在宽的稳区范围内稳定运转。  相似文献

Based on the pioneer work of Konishi et al, a new control method is presented to suppress the traffic congestion in the coupled map (CM) car-following model under an open boundary. A control signal concluding the velocity differences of the two vehicles in front is put forward. The condition under which the traffic jam can be contained is analyzed. The results are compared with that presented by Konishi et al [Phys. Rev. 1999 E 60 4000--4007]. The simulation results show that the temporal behavior obtained by our method is better than that by the Konishi's et al. method, although both the methods could suppress the traffic jam. The simulation results are consistent with the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Abstract

Optical effects of the first and second order with respect to the order parameter (1 is antiferromagnetic vector) have been studied in Cr2O3 around its phase transition at TN = 306 K from the antiferromagnetic to paramagnetic state. The magnetic linear birefringence is characterized by a rather large magnitude Δn sp ? 10?3 and by a large contribution of fluctuations of the order parameter to the birefringence. The study of the nonreciprocal optical rotation induced by an electric field has shown that the phase transition has a well defined first-order character. This result is also supported by the observation of a nonlinear (quadratic in the electric field) nonreciprocal rotation in a narrow temperature region ΔT = 0.15 K around TN . The temperature variation of the order parameter l(T) below TN is well described by a power low l where τβ = (TN - T)/TN and β = 0.355. We also observed a very reproducible effect of the rotation of the optical indicatrix in opposite directions for two types of antiferromagnetic domains. The possible explanation of this effect could be related to the so-called gyrotropic birefringence, an effect related to kili terms in the dielectric permeability.  相似文献

183-W, M(2) = 2.4 Yb:YAG Q-switched laser   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
We have fabricated a diode-array end-pumped Yb:YAG rod laser with output powers greater than 200 W cw and 195 W Q -switched at 5 kHz. At an output power of 183 W and a repetition rate of 5 kHz, the beam quality was measured to be M(2)=2.4 . The laser design incorporates a hollow lens duct to concentrate the diode pump light for delivery to the end of the laser rod while maintaining access to the laser beam. This configuration provides increased flexibility for the resonator design and permits the use of birefringence compensation in the cavity to yield polarized output with increased efficiency. Using the recently described birefringence compensation method of Clarkson et al. [in Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (Optical Society of America, Washington, D.C., 1998), paper CTuI3], we obtained 112 W of cw power with a polarized beam of M(2)=3.2.  相似文献

We measured the two-dimensional birefringence compensation in laser-diode (LD) pumped Nd:glass (HAP4) laser rods with a high-sensitivity polarimeter. The compensation was performed by inserting a 90° quartz rotator between two identical LD pumped Nd:glass rods with conductive cooling. A considerable reduction of birefringence loss from 9.8% to less than 0.9% after compensation was observed.  相似文献

The fundamental infrared band vibrational shifts of HCl diluted in dense Ar and Kr have been calculated by means of molecular dynamics simulation techniques and compared with the experimental data reported by Pérez et al. (J. Chem. Phys. 122, 194507 (2005)). The results have been analysed along the liquid–vapour coexistence line as in several supercritical states, with good agreement between the theoretical and experimental values.  相似文献

The quantum non-adiabatic theory of atomic collisions in the presence of a weak radiation field is applied to describe the Ba-rare-gas (RG) optical collision. The absorption coefficient as well as linear and circular polarizations of collisionally redistributed fluorescence light are calculated for a range of detuning around the barium (λ3 = 5535Å) resonance line. Closecoupling calculations involving the relevant X1Σ, 1Σ,1II, 3Σ and 3II states for each Ba-RG pair are carried out based on the new theoretical potential curves obtained by Czuchaj within the valence ab initio scheme. Our attention is mainly paid to the role of spin-changing transitions between the (6s6p) 1P and (6s6p) 3P states in the process investigated. The numerical results show that the singlet-triplet mixing is important in the red-wing part of the spectra. The calculated absorption coefficients and polarizations are thermally averaged over the collision energy and compared with the experimental results of Alford et al. [1984, Phys. Rev. A, 30, 2366] and Ni et al. [1996, Z. Phys. D, 38, 303].  相似文献

A kind of improved high birefringence photonic crystal fibre (PCF) is proposed in this paper. The characteristics of birefringence, dispersion and leakage loss are studied by the multipole method. Numerical results show that the improved PCF possesses the properties of a flat dispersion and single mode operation. Moreover, with the operating wavelength λ = 1.55μm, the modal birefringence increases greatly in comparison with that of the original PCF, and the leakage loss is about 104 times smaller than that of the original PCF because the modification gives rise to the strong confinement of guided modes. It is expected that the improved PCF can be used as high birefringence and dispersion flattened fibres.  相似文献

A multiresolution solver for fully numerical linear response calculations of excitation states via the time-dependent Hartree–Fock and density functional theory (TD-HF/DFT) is presented. The linear response method Yanai et al. previously reported [J. Chem. Phys., submitted] was limited to the Tamm–Dancoff approximation and could only use the Hartree–Fock exchange and the local-spin density approximation (LSDA) with a crude asymptotic correction. The present development enables us to perform full TD-HF/DFT calculations employing generalized gradient approximation (GGA) exchange-correlation potentials as well as hybrid ones. The linear response of TD-HF/DFT is computed by means of iteratively solving the coupled integral equations with the Green's functions. In this study, Tozer and Handy's asymptotic correction (AC) is applied to existing DFT exchange-correlations, and is found numerically stable and efficient. Furthermore, the new hybrid exchange-correlation functional CAM-B3LYP, which was recently proposed by Yanai et al. [Chem. Phys. Lett. 393, 51 (2004)], is implemented. The implementation requires a new separated representation of the integral kernel for the Coulomb-attenuated potential. We demonstrate linear response calculations free of basis set error for the excited states of Be, N2, C2H4 and C6H6 using LSDA, HCTH, CAM-B3LYP and PBE0 exchange-correlation functionals. The mean absolute errors of the C6H6 calculations with HCTH and CAM-B3LYP are 0.12 and 0.18?eV, respectively. The second derivative of exchange-correlation functionals is represented fully numerically at O(N) computation cost.  相似文献

The decoy-state quantum key distribution protocol suggested by Adachi et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. 99 180503 (2007)) is proven to be secure and feasible with current techniques. It owns two attractive merits,i.e.,its longer secure transmission distance and more convenient operation design. In this paper,we first improve the protocol with the aid of local operation and two-way classical communication (2-LOCC). After our modifications,the secure transmission distance is increased by about 20 km,which will make the protocol more practicable.  相似文献

It was found by numerical analysis that a 320 nm wide and flat spectrum at 20 dB less than the central maximum intensity is generated from cross-phase modulated soliton pulses with 3.5 ps pulse width and 2.3 W peak power, which are propagated through a 2.4km length of dispersion-flattened/decreasing fiber (DFDF). The cross-phase modulation (XPM) at a central wavelength of 1.55 μm is achieved by exciting two orthogonally polarized modes into the principal axes. The wave-vector mismatch between the orthogonal pulses can be neglected because of soliton trapping when the modal birefringence of the DFDF is less than |nox - n0y| = 10−6. The effect of modal birefringence on supercontinuum generation is discussed in temporal and spectral regimes by numerical analysis.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The almost multiferroic perovskite EuTiO3 (ETO) has been prepared as films on substrates of SrTiO3. For all prepared film thicknesses highly transparent insulating films with atomically flat surfaces and excellent orientation have been grown. They were characterized by X-ray diffraction, magnetic susceptibility and birefringence measurements and found to exhibit bulk properties, namely an antiferromagnetic transition at TN = 5.1 K and a structural transition at TS = 282 K. The latter could only be identified due to the high transparency of the samples since the optical band gap is of the order of 4.5 eV and larger than observed before for any bulk and thin film samples.  相似文献

Laser ion source (LIS) is the only type of source capable of generating 10–30 mA beams of highly charged ions for the ITEP–TeraWatt (TWAC) accelerator/accumulator facility [B.Yu. Sharkov et al., Nucl. Instrum. Methods Phys. Res. A 415 20 (1998).]. The assembling stage of the new LIS based on 100 J/1 Hz master oscillator–power amplifier CO2-laser system [Yu. Satov, et al., J. Russ. Laser Res. 25(3) 205 (2004).] is in progress at ITEP now. In the first phase, the ion beam parameters (charge state distribution, current, pulse length and emittance) will be specified for different elements and target irradiation conditions. According to the planning, the new LIS and the new high-current injector [D. Kashinsky, et al., Proceedings of the Heavy Ion Fusion Conference, Moskow (2002).] will be used to deliver the beams of highly charged ions for the ITEP–TWAC accelerator/accumulator facility.  相似文献

A multiparty simultaneous quantum identity authentication protocol based on Greenberger--Horne--Zeilinger (GHZ) states is proposed. The multi-user can be authenticated by a trusted third party (TTP) simultaneously. Compared with the scheme proposed recently (Wang et al 2006, Chin. Phys. Lett. 23(9) 2360), the proposed scheme has the advantages of consuming fewer quantum and classical resources and lessening the difficulty and intensity of necessary operations.  相似文献

A simple white light interferometric method is used to study the effects of plasma on the steady-state linear birefringence of polyester sheet films. Glow-discharge nitrogen-plasma of power 13 W with nine different exposure times from 0 to 25 min is applied to films of 0.22 mm thickness. The relationship between the linear birefringence and some atomic parameters is derived theoretically and tested experimentally. Effects on the linear birefringence, the linear retardance and Herman's orientation parameter are investigated. The increase of plasma exposure time produces an increase in the linear birefringence and Herman's orientation parameter. Characterization of plasma-treated and plasma-untreated polyester samples have been thoroughly examined using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. It is noted that no new bands have appeared after treatment for all the tested samples at different time intervals. There is an increase in intensity and band definition, and a shift of some bands that were already present in the spectrum of the untreated sample, assigned to the trans conformer.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The ferroelastic phase transitions in KFe(MoO4)2 have been studied by means of polarized light microscopy. The crystal undergoes a sequence of ferroelastic phase transitions. It has been found that the second transition consists of two transitions separated by the temperature interval of about 0.4 K. Both these transitions are of the first order and are evidenced through a phase front passing, without the domain structure rebuilding. The disposition of optical indicatrix axes ng, nm has been established, and the birefringence has been measured in the plane (0001) in the temperature range covering all ferroelastic phases. From temperature studies of the morphic birefringence, a critical exponent of the order parameter has been estimated.  相似文献

A tunable continuous wave(cw) mid-infrared(MIR) laser based on difference-frequency generation(DFG) in a 1.5-cm long AgGaS2 nonlinear crystal for trace gas detection is reported.Two visible and near-infrared diode lasers were used as pump and signal sources.The MIR-DFG laser was tunable in a wavelength range of 4.75 μm-4.88 μm.The phase-matching(PM) condition was non-critically achieved by adjusting the temperature of the crystal for fixed pairs of input pump and signal wavelengths.The required PM temperatures of the generated MIR-DFG wavelengths have been calculated by using three sets of recent Sellmeier equations and the temperature-dispersion equations of AgGaS2 given by Willer U,et al.(Willer U,Blanke T and Schade W 2001 Appl.Opt.40 5439).Then the calculated PM temperatures are compared with the experimental values.The performance of the MIR-DFG laser is shown by the trace detection of the P(16) carbon monoxide(12C16O) absorption line in a laboratory-fabricated absorption cell.The enhanced sensitivity of about 0.6×10 4 was obtained through the long path absorption provided by consecutive reflections between coated cylindrical mirrors of a constructed cell.  相似文献
