We present a dispersive analysis of the decay amplitude for \(\eta '\rightarrow \eta \pi \pi \) that is based on the fundamental principles of analyticity and unitarity. In this framework, final-state interactions are fully taken into account. Our dispersive representation relies only on input for the \({\pi \pi }\) and \({\pi }\eta \) scattering phase shifts. Isospin symmetry allows us to describe both the charged and neutral decay channel in terms of the same function. The dispersion relation contains subtraction constants that cannot be fixed by unitarity. We determine these parameters by a fit to Dalitz-plot data from the VES and BES-III experiments. We study the prediction of a low-energy theorem and compare the dispersive fit to variants of chiral perturbation theory.  相似文献

We study the quark-mass dependence of \(\omega \rightarrow 3\pi \) decays, based on a dispersion-theoretical framework. We rely on the quark-mass-dependent scattering phase shift for the pion–pion P-wave extracted from unitarized chiral perturbation theory. The dispersive representation then takes into account the final-state rescattering among all three pions. The described formalism may be used as an extrapolation tool for lattice QCD calculations of three-pion decays, for which \(\omega \rightarrow 3\pi \) can serve as a paradigm case.  相似文献

There are valuable arguments to perform neutrinoless double beta (\(0\nu 2\beta \)) decay experiments with several nuclei: the uncertainty of nuclear-matrix-element calculations; the possibility to test these calculations by using the ratio of the measured lifetimes; the unpredictability of possible breakthroughs in the detection technique; the difficulty to foresee background in \(0\nu 2\beta \) decay searches; the limited amount of isotopically enriched materials. We propose therefore approaches to estimate the Majorana neutrino mass by combining experimental data collected with different \(0\nu 2\beta \) decay candidates. In particular, we apply our methods to a next-generation experiment based on scintillating and Cherenkov-radiation bolometers. Current results indicate that this technology can effectively study up to four different isotopes simultaneously (\(^{82}\)Se, \(^{100}\)Mo, \(^{116}\)Cd and \(^{130}\)Te), embedded in detectors which share the same concepts and environment. We show that the combined information on the Majorana neutrino mass extracted from a multi-candidate bolometric experiment is competitive with that achievable with a single isotope, once that the cryogenic experimental volume is fixed. The remarkable conceptual and technical advantages of a multi-isotope investigation are discussed. This approach can be naturally applied to the proposed CUPID project, follow-up of the CUORE experiment that is currently taking data in the Gran Sasso underground laboratory.  相似文献

We examine the possibility to extract information about the DN and interactions from the reaction. We utilize the notion that the open-charm mesons are first produced in the annihilation of the antiproton on one nucleon in the deuteron and subsequently rescatter on the other (the spectator) nucleon. The latter process is then exploited for investigating the DN and interactions. We study different methods for isolating the contributions from the D 0 p and D p rescattering terms.  相似文献

SABRE (Sodium iodide with Active Background REjection) is a direct detection dark matter experiment based on arrays of radio-pure NaI(Tl) crystals. The experiment aims at achieving an ultra-low background rate and its primary goal is to confirm or refute the results from the DAMA/LIBRA experiment. The SABRE Proof-of-Principle phase was carried out in 2020–2021 at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS), in Italy. The next phase consists of two full-scale experiments: SABRE South at the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory, in Australia, and SABRE North at LNGS. This paper focuses on SABRE South and presents a detailed simulation of the detector, which is used to characterise the background for dark matter searches including DAMA/LIBRA-like modulation. We estimate an overall background of 0.72 cpd/kg/\(\hbox {keV}_{\hbox {{ee}}}\) in the energy range 1–6 \(\hbox {keV}_{\hbox {{ee}}}\) primarily due to radioactive contamination in the crystals. Given this level of background and considering that the SABRE South has a target mass of 50 kg, we expect to exclude (confirm) DAMA/LIBRA modulation at \(4~(5)\sigma \) within 2.5 years of data taking.

The convergence of the decay widths and some of the Dalitz plot parameters of the decay \(\eta \rightarrow 3\pi \) seems problematic in low energy QCD. In the framework of resummed chiral perturbation theory, we explore the question of compatibility of experimental data with a reasonable convergence of a carefully defined chiral series. By treating the uncertainties in the higher orders statistically, we numerically generate a large set of theoretical predictions, which are then confronted with experimental information. In the case of the decay widths, the experimental values can be reconstructed for a reasonable range of the free parameters and thus no tension is observed, in spite of what some of the traditional calculations suggest. The Dalitz plot parameters a and d can be described very well too. When the parameters b and \(\alpha \) are concerned, we find a mild tension for the whole range of the free parameters, at less than 2\(\sigma \) C.L. This can be interpreted in two ways – either some of the higher order corrections are indeed unexpectedly large or there is a specific configuration of the remainders, which is, however, not completely improbable.  相似文献

The cascade mass reconstruction approach was used for mass reconstruction of the lightest $ \tilde \tau $ \tilde \tau produced at the LHC in the cascade decay $ \tilde g \to \tilde bb \to \tilde \chi _2^0 bb \to \tilde \tau _1 \tau bb \to \tilde \chi _1^0 \tau \tau bb $ \tilde g \to \tilde bb \to \tilde \chi _2^0 bb \to \tilde \tau _1 \tau bb \to \tilde \chi _1^0 \tau \tau bb . The $ \tilde \tau _1 $ \tilde \tau _1 mass was reconstructed assuming that masses of gluino, bottom squark, and two lightest neutralinos were reconstructed in advance. SUSY data sample sets for the SU(3) model point containing 160k events each were generated which corresponded to an integrated luminosity of about 8 fb−1 at 14 TeV. These events were passed through the AcerDET detector simulator, which parametrized the response of a generic LHC detector. The mass of the $ \tilde \tau _1 $ \tilde \tau _1 was reconstructed with a precision of about 20% on average.  相似文献

The minimal SO(5) / SO(4) linear \(\sigma \) model is extended including an additional complex scalar field, singlet under the global SO(5) and the Standard Model gauge symmetries. The presence of this scalar field creates the conditions to generate an axion à la KSVZ, providing a solution to the strong CP problem, or an axion-like-particle. Different choices for the PQ charges are possible and lead to physically distinct Lagrangians. The internal consistency of each model necessarily requires the study of the scalar potential describing the \(SO(5)\rightarrow SO(4)\), electroweak and PQ symmetry breaking. A single minimal scenario is identified and the associated scalar potential is minimised including counterterms needed to ensure one-loop renormalizability. In the allowed parameter space, phenomenological features of the scalar degrees of freedom, of the exotic fermions and of the axion are illustrated. Two distinct possibilities for the axion arise: either it is a QCD axion with an associated scale larger than \(\sim 10^{5}\) TeV and therefore falling in the category of the invisible axions; or it is a more massive axion-like-particle, such as a 1 GeV axion with an associated scale of \(\sim 200\) TeV, that may show up in collider searches.  相似文献

The transverse momentum distributions of final-state particles produced in collisions at energies available at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are studied by using the two-Boltzmann distribution and Tsallis statistics. Experimental distributions described by the two-Boltzmann distribution can be described by the Tsallis statistics. The two-temperature emission described by the two-Boltzmann distribution reflects temperature fluctuation of interacting system. The Tsallis statistics can describe the temperature fluctuation and the degree of non-equilibrium. The results calculated by the two-Boltzmann distribution and the Tsallis statistics are in agreement with the experimental data available at the LHC energies. In some cases, the two-Boltzmann distribution degenerates to (single) Boltzmann distribution.

In this work, we revisit the problem of legitimate topologically trivial Gribov copies inside the Gribov horizon. We avoid the reducibility problem which hampered the standard construction of van Baal, and then we are able to build a valid example with spherical symmetry. We also apply the same technique in the presence of a background of a Polyakov instanton in a Euclidian 3D spacetime, in order to study the effect of a non-trivial environment in the generation of multiple copies inside the horizon.  相似文献

The Einstein-Maxwell equations for non-static charged shear-free spherically symmetric perfect fluid distribution reduce to a second-order non-linear differential equation in the radial parameter. Several solutions of this equation have been obtained in earlier work without considering the general requirement for physical relevance of the solutions. Generally physically acceptable relativistic fluid models demand that the solutions satisfy the reality conditions ρ ≥ 0, p ≥ 0, ρ r ≤ 0, etc. throughout the fluid model. In this article the expression for density gradient ρ x (or ρ r ) has been utilized to produce charged shear-free relativistic fluid models with non-positive density gradient (NDG)ρ r ≤ 0. Eventually, we have found that none of the Riccati solutions have NDG including Vaidya metric. Also, the solutions with NDG neither possess Lie-symmetries nor Painlevé property. Further, it is observed that the solutions with NDG have no uncharged analogue.  相似文献

The three-vertex loop amplitude in a strong magnetic field are analyzed in a general form by using the asymptotic behavior of the electron propagator in an external field. The process \(\gamma \gamma \to \nu \bar \nu\) is studied in terms of the scalar-vector-vector (SVV), pseudoscalar-vector-vector (PVV), vector-vector-vector (VVV), and axial-vector-vector-vector (AVV) combinations of couplings. It is shown that only in the case of the SVV combination does the amplitude grow linearly with increasing magnetic-field strength, the amplitudes evaluated with the other combinations of couplings (PVV, VVV, and AVV) featuring no linearly increasing terms. The process \(\gamma \gamma \to \nu \bar \nu\) is also studied within the left-right model, which is an extension of the Standard Model of electroweak interactions and which may involve an effective scalar ννee coupling. Possible astrophysical manifestations of this process are discussed.  相似文献

The CUPID-0 detector hosted at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso, Italy, is the first large array of enriched scintillating cryogenic detectors for the investigation of \(^{82}\)Se neutrinoless double-beta decay (\(0\nu \beta \beta \)). CUPID-0 aims at measuring a background index in the region of interest (RoI) for \(0\nu \beta \beta \) at the level of 10\(^{-3}\) counts/(keV kg years), the lowest value ever measured using cryogenic detectors. CUPID-0 operates an array of Zn\(^{82}\)Se scintillating bolometers coupled with bolometric light detectors, with a state of the art technology for background suppression and thorough protocols and procedures for the detector preparation and construction. In this paper, the different phases of the detector design and construction will be presented, from the material selection (for the absorber production) to the new and innovative detector structure. The successful construction of the detector lead to promising preliminary detector performance which is discussed here.  相似文献
