We study the holomorphic structure of certain complex manifolds associated withW algebras, namely, the flag manifoldsW /T andW 1+/T 1+, and the spacesW /SL(),R) andW 1+/GL(,R), whereT andT 1+ are the maximal tori inW andW 1+. We compute their Ricci curvature and show how the results are related to the anomaly-freedom conditions forW andW 1+. We discuss the relation of these manifolds with extensions of universal Teichmüller space.Supported in part by the U.S. Department of Energy, under grant DE-AS05-81ER40039Supported in part by the U.S. Department of Energy, under grant DE-FG03-84ER40168  相似文献

Consider the system of particles on d where particles are of two types—A andB—and execute simple random walks in continuous time. Particles do not interact with their own type, but when anA-particle meets aB-particle, both disappear, i.e., are annihilated. This system serves as a model for the chemical reactionA+B inert. We analyze the limiting behavior of the densities A (t) and B (t) when the initial state is given by homogeneous Poisson random fields. We prove that for equal initial densities A (0)= B (0) there is a change in behavior fromd4, where A (t)= B (t)C/t d /4, tod4, where A (t)= B (t)C/tast. For unequal initial densities A (0)< B (0), A (t)e cl ind=1, A (t)e Ct/logt ind=2, and A (t)e Ct ind3. The termC depends on the initial densities and changes withd. Techniques are from interacting particle systems. The behavior for this two-particle annihilation process has similarities to those for coalescing random walks (A+AA) and annihilating random walks (A+Ainert). The analysis of the present process is made considerably more difficult by the lack of comparison with an attractive particle system.  相似文献

We define the positive resonance points of self-adjoint operators without using the analytical continuation of corresponding resolvents and show that the limiting amplitude principle for the abstract wave equation does not take place in general, if 2 = , where is the disturbing frequency and is the resonance point. The asymptotics of corresponding solutions as t are obtained, which imply the growth of the oscillation amplitude as t , 0<<1, or as ln t, t .  相似文献

The symmetric spin-boson model without external field is treated for any type of coupling to the boson bath and any initial bath density matrix. With initially fully aligned spin (z (0)= =1), the proof is given that a partial relaxation (z (+) t1<) implies that there is no asymptotic-time (up-and-down) symmetry breaking (i.e. that z (+)=0). For the problem of a particle (interacting with free bosons) in a symmetric double well without spatial symmetry breaking before the infinite time limit, this means that att + the particle distribution becomes symmetric (irrespective of the full initial asymmetry) unless the particle fully remains (att + ) in Ihe starting well.  相似文献

Two solutions 5(x, x s) and 6(x, x s) related to the irregular singular point atx=+ of the radial wave equation in Schwarzschild's space-time are studied as functions of the independent variablex and the parameterx s. Analytic continuations of 5 and 6 are derived and their relation to the flat-space case solutions is established. Explicit expressions for 3(x, x s) and 4(x, x s) (the solutions about the regular singular point atx=x s) are given. From these expressions and the analytic continuations of 5 and 6 the coefficients relating linearly 5 and 6 with i (i=1, 2, 3, 4) are calculated.  相似文献

LetH l be the Hamiltonian in aP()2 theory with sharp space cutoff in the interval (–l/2,l/2). LetE l =inf(H l ), (l)=–E l /l, and let l be the vacuum forH l . discuss properties of (l) and l . In particular, asl, there are finite constants <0 and such that (l), ((l)–)l, and hence (l)=+/l+o(l –1). Moreover exp(–c 1 l) l 1exp(–c 2 l) forc 1,c 2 positive constants, where l 1 is theL 1(Q, d0) norm of 1 with respect to the Fock vacuum measure. A variety of rigorous inequalities for critical exponents is proved. Most notable is the low-temperature Josephson inequalitydv +2 2–. Others are 1 1 +v, 1 1 , 1,d 1 + 1/ (for d),dv, 3 + (for d), 4 , and 2m 2m+2 (form 2). The hypotheses vary; all inequalities are true for the spin-1/2 Ising model with nearest-neighbor ferromagnetic pair interactions.NSF Predoctoral Fellow (1976–1979). For the Ising model with nearest neighbour interaction it is shown that the spin correlations A B - A B decrease exponentially asd(A, B) in a pure phase when the temperature is well belowT c. This is used to prove that the free energyF(,h) is infinitely differentiable in and has one sided derivatives inh of all orders forh=0. The bounds are also used to prove that the central limit theorem holds for several variables such as e.g. the total energy and the total magnetization of the system, the limit distribution being gaussian with variances determined by the second derivatives ofF(,h).  相似文献

Let ()() and () () be the von Neumann algebras associated with the space-tiem regions and respectively in the vacuum representation of the free neutral massive scalar field. For suitably chosen spacelike separated regions and it is proved that there exists a normal product state of (), Some consequences for the algebraic structure of the local rings are pointed out.  相似文献

We consider gradient systems of infinitely many particles in one-dimensional space interacting via a positive invariant pair potential with a hard core. The main assumption is that is strictly convex within the rangeR of (whereR is a fixed number ). Under some technical conditions we prove the following theorems: Let the initial distribution be given by a translation invariant point process onR 1. Then there exists only one extreme equilibrium state with a given intensityI() satisfyingI()R –1, and all ergodic initial distributions with an intensityI()R –1 converge weakly ast to the extreme equilibrium state with the same intensity.  相似文献

On the planar hexagonal lattice , we analyze the Markov process whose state (t), in , updates each site v asynchronously in continuous time t0, so that v (t) agrees with a majority of its (three) neighbors. The initial v (0)'s are i.i.d. with P[ v (0)=+1]=p[0,1]. We study, both rigorously and by Monte Carlo simulation, the existence and nature of the percolation transition as t and p1/2. Denoting by +(t,p) the expected size of the plus cluster containing the origin, we (1) prove that +(,1/2)= and (2) study numerically critical exponents associated with the divergence of +(,p) as p1/2. A detailed finite-size scaling analysis suggests that the exponents and of this t= (dependent) percolation model have the same values, 4/3 and 43/18, as standard two-dimensional independent percolation. We also present numerical evidence that the rate at which (t)() as t is exponential.  相似文献

Particle creation by a black hole is described in terms of temperature corrections to the Casimir effect. The results of Levin, Polevoy, and Ritov for spectral and total Poynting vector for a fluctuating electromagnetic field in a plane vacuum gap between two arbitrary media with different temperatures in flat spacetime are applied to clarify the situation that exists between the horizon of a nonrotating black hole and spatial infinity. This helps to reveal the mechanism of particle creation. The Hawking radiation is born inside the bell formed by a potential barrier of a black hole in all the region [2M, ]. Its blackbody spectrum is due to the interaction of field fluctuations with the surface of the bell. The particles between the walls are virtual ones. They can become real after passing through the [3M, ] tail, appearing to an observer at future infinityJ + as real ones. The arguments for and against the present standpoint are discussed.  相似文献

It is shown that the standard model of the electroweak interactions holds at an infinite sublayer quark level, insofar as we consider the weak isospin doublet (u L,u L cp , whereu is an infinite number of quarks at an infinite sublayer level.  相似文献

The basic equations of the dynamics of the continuous distribution of dislocations analogical to Maxwell equations are derived in a series of papers [I, II, III]. The analogy of the elastic and electromagnetic fields is analyzed. In part [III] some special problems are discussed, such as the density of the forces acting on the dislocations, the energy dissipation during the movement of dislocations, which is expressed by an equation analogical to Ohm's law. The equations derived in the previous parts in four-dimensional symbolics are considered in the three-dimensional differential and integral form. It is found that in special cases the relations become the known ones of elastodynamics, hydrodynamics and the static theory of the continuous distribution of dislocations. It is found that Kröner's method of integrating the equations of the dislocation field by means of so-called incompatibility tensors is analogical to the integration of the Maxwell equations by means of Hertz vectors. The analogy between the elastic dislocation field and the electromagnetic field is discussed in detail.

We study the time evolution of a three dimensional quantum particle under the action of a time-dependent point interaction fixed at the origin. We assume that the strength of the interaction (t) is a periodic function with an arbitrary mean. Under very weak conditions on the Fourier coefficients of (t), we prove that there is complete ionization as t, starting from a bound state at time t=0. Moreover we prove also that, under the same conditions, all the states of the system are scattering states. On leave from Dipartimento di Matematica, Università di Roma, La Sapienza, Italy.  相似文献

In general relativity, conservation of energy and momentum is expressed by an equation of the form /x= 0, where –gT represents the total energy, momentum, and stress. This equation arises from the divergence formula dV v = (/x v )d 4 d. Here we show that this formula fails to account properly for the system of basis vectors e(x). We obtain the (invariant) divergence formula e dV v = e (/x v + )d 4 d. Conservation of energy and momentum is therefore expressed by the covariant equation (/x v ) + = 0. We go on to calculate the variation of the action under uniform displacements in space-time. This calculation yields the covariant equation of conservation, as well as the fully symmetric energy tensor . Finally, we discuss the transfer of energy and momentum, within the context of Einstein's theory of gravitation.  相似文献

We show that in the limitp ,N 0,=p/N 0 the limit free energy of the Hopfield model equals in probability the Curie-Weiss free energy. We prove also that the free energy of the Hopfield model is self-averaging for any finite .  相似文献

We present a study of finite-size effects in a model exhibiting a first-order temperature-driven symmetry-breaking structural phase transition in theL × cylindrical geometry in theL limit. Exact studies demonstrate the applicability of our scaling ansatz even in the one-dimensional limit, making this model ideal for studying finite-size effects. The scaling ansatz, similar to the previously developed ansatz for field-driven transitions, demonstrates that latent heat is crucial in driving these transitions. This ansatz is supported by a 2×2 phenomenological transfer matrix based upon the symmetries of the system; this produces an analytic free energy which has the scaling form. Order parameter probability distributions show that the high- and low-temperature phases coexist only in a small finite-size-affected regime near the bulk transition temperature; this regime vanishes exponentially fast asL diverges.  相似文献

The diluted-field Ising model, a random nonnegative field ferromagnetic model, is shown to have a unique Gibbs measure with probability I when the field mean is positive. Our methods involve comparisons with ordinary uniform field Ising models. They yield as a corollary a way of obtaining spontaneous magnetization through the application of a vanishing random magnetic field. The correlation lengths of this model defined as (lim n-(1/n) log 0; n)-1, wheren is the site on the first coordinate axis at distancen from the origin and 0; n is the origin ton two-point truncated correlation function, is non-random. We derive an upper bound for it in terms of the correlation length of an ordinary nonrandom model with uniform field related to the field distribution of the diluted model.  相似文献
