Three new binudear cobalt (II) complexes with extended te-tracarboxylato- bridge have been synthesized and characterized, namely [Co2 (PMTA) (bpy)4] (1), [Co2(PMTA)-(phen)4] (2) and [Co2(PMTA) (NO2phen)4] (3), where PMTA represents the tetraanion of pyroniellitic acid, and bpy, phen, NO2-phen denote 2,2'-bipyridine, 1,10-phenan-throline; 5-nirto-1, 10-plienanthroline, respectively. Based on elemental analyses, molar conductivity measurements, IR and electronic spectra studies, it is proposed that these complexes have PMTA-bridged structures and consist of two cobalt (II) ions, each in a distorted octahedral environment. These complexes were further characterized by variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements (4-300 K) and the observed data were successfully simulated by the equation based on the spin Hamiltonian operator, giving the exchange integral J = - 1.02 cm-1 for 1, J = -1.21 cm-1 for 2 and J = - 1.18 cm-1 for 3, respectively. This article describes synthesis of novel Schiff base and its complexation properties with Fe(III) and Cr(III). Firstly 1,3,5-tris (formylphenoxymethyl)benzene (1, TRIPOD) with tris aldehyde groups were synthesized using the 1,3,5-trisbromomethylbenzene and 4-hydroxybezaldehyde. The compound 1 was converted to the Schiff base derivative (2, TCPIM-TRIPOD) with p-aminobenzoic acid. The prepared TCPIM-TRIPOD were reacted with four new trinuclear Fe(III) and Cr(III) complexes involving tetradenta Schiff bases N,N-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine-(salenH2) or bis(salicylidene)-o-phenylenediamine-(salophenH2) and characterized by means of elemental analysis carrying out infrared spectroscopy (IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG), nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), elemental analysis and magnetic susceptibility measurement. The complexes can also be characterized as low-spin distorted octahedral Fe(III) and Cr(III) bridged by carboxylic acids. The tricarboxylic acids play a role as bridges for weak antiferromagnetic intramolecular exchange.  相似文献

Seven new cyano-bridged heterometallic systems have been prepared by assembling [M'(rac-CTH)]n+ complexes (M' = CrIII, NiII, CuII), which have two cis available coordination positions, and [M(CN)6]3- (M = FeIII, CrIII) and [Fe(CN)2(bpy)2]+ cyanometalate building blocks. The assembled systems, which have been characterized by X-ray crystallography and magnetic investigations, are the molecular squares (meso-CTH-H2)[{Ni(rac-CTH)}2{Fe(CN)6)}2].5H2O (2) and [{Ni(rac-CTH)}2{Fe(CN)2(bpy)2}2](ClO4)4.H2O (5), the bimetallic chain [{Ni(rac-CTH)}2{Cr(CN)6)}2Ni(meso-CTH)].4H2O (3), the trimetallic chain [{Ni(rac-CTH)}2{Fe(CN)6)}2Cu(cyclam)]6H2O (4), the pentanuclear complexes [{Cu(rac-CTH}3{Fe(CN)6}2].2H2O (6) and [{Cu(rac-CTH)}3{Cr(CN)6)}2].2H2O (7), and the dinuclear complex [Cr(rac-CTH)(H2O)Fe(CN)6].2H2O (8). With the exception of 5, all compounds exhibit ferromagnetic interaction between the metal ions (JFeNi = 12.8(2) cm-1 for 2; J1FeCu= 13.8(2) cm-1 and J2FeCu= 3.9(4) cm-1 for 6; J1CrCu= 6.95(3) cm-1 and J2CrCu= 1.9(2)cm-1 for 7; JCrFe = 28.87(3) cm-1 for 8). Compound 5 exhibits the end of a transition from the high-spin to the low-spin state of the octahedral FeII ions. The bimetallic chain 3 behaves as a metamagnet with a critical field Hc = 300 G, which is associated with the occurrence of week antiferromagnetic interactions between the chains. Although the trimetallic chain 4 shows some degree of spin correlation along the chain, magnetic ordering does not occur. The sign and magnitude of the magnetic exchange interaction between CrIII and FeIII in compound 8 have been justified by DFT type calculations.  相似文献

Six novel oxovanadium(IV) binuclear complexes have been synthesized and characterized,namely,[(VO)2(CA)La]SO4 [L denotes 5-methyl-l,10-phenanthroline (Me-phen);2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Me2-phen); 5-chloro-l,10-phenanthroline (Cl-phen); diaminoethane (en); 1,3-diaminopropane (pn) and 1,2-diaminopropane (ap) respectively.],where CA represents the dianion of chloranilic acid.Based on elemental analyses, molar conductivity and room temperature magnetic moment measurements,IR and electronic spectral studies,it is proposed that these complexes have CA-bridged structures and consist of two vanadium(IV) ions in a square-pyramidal environment. The complexes [(VO)2(CA)(Me-phen)2]SO4 (1) and [(VO)2(CA)(Me2-phen)2]SO4 (2) were characterized by variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements (4~300 K) and the observed data were fitted to the modified Bleaney-Bowers equation by the least-squares method, giving the exchange integral J=-15.8 cm-1 for 1 and J=-10.6 cm-1 for 2.This result indicates that t  相似文献

Five new chloranilato-bridged binuclear chromium (III) complexes have been synthesized and identified as [Cr2(CA)L4]-(ClO4)4[L denotes 5-methyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Me-phen); 2,9-dimethyl-1, 10-phenanthroline ( Me2-phen); 5-chloro-1,10-phenanthroline(Cl-phen); diaminoethane (en) or 1,3-diaminopropane (pn)], where CA represents the dianion of chloranilic acid. Based on elemental analyses, molar conductivity and magnetic moment of room-temperature measurements, and IR and electronic spectral studies, it is proposed that these complexes have CA-bridged structures and consist of two chromium (III) ions, each in an octahedral environment. The complexes [Cr2(CA)(Me-phen)4](ClO4)4(1) and [Cr2(CA)(Me2-phen)4](ClO4)4(2) were further characterized by variable temperature (4.2-300 K) magnetic susceptibility measurements and the observed data were successfully simulated by the equation based on the spin Hamiltonian operator, , giving the exchange parameter J = -7.8 cm-1 for (1) and J= -6.5 cm*1 for (2). To examine properties of pentavalent uranium, U(V), we have carried out electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical studies on UO(2)(saloph)L [saloph = N,N'-disalicylidene-o-phenylenediaminate, L = dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF)]. The electrochemical reactions of UO(2)(saloph)L complexes in L were found to occur quasireversibly. The reduction processes of UO(2)(saloph)L complexes were followed spectroelectrochemically by using an optical transparent thin layer electrode cell. It was found that the absorption spectra measured at the applied potentials from 0 to -1.650 V versus ferrocene/ferrocenium ion redox couple (Fc/Fc(+)) for UO(2)(saloph)DMSO in DMSO have clear isosbestic points and that the evaluated electron stoichiometry equals 1.08. These results indicate that the reduction product of UO(2)(saloph)DMSO is [U(V)O(2)(saloph)DMSO](-), which is considerably stable in DMSO. Furthermore, it was clarified that the absorption spectrum of the [U(V)O(2)(saloph)DMSO](-) complex has a very small molar absorptivity in the visible region and characteristic absorption bands due to the 5f(1) orbital at around 750 and 900 nm. For UO(2)(saloph)DMF in DMF, the clear isosbestic points were not observed in the similar spectral changes. It is proposed that the UO(2)(saloph)DMF complex is reduced to [U(V)O(2)(saloph)DMF](-) accompanied by the dissociation of DMF as a successive reaction. The formal redox potentials of UO(2)(saloph)L in L (E(0), vs Fc/Fc(+)) for U(VI)/U(V) couple were determined to be -1.550 V for L = DMSO and -1.626 V for L = DMF.  相似文献

A novel tetrameric cluster, (enH2)3.5H15[{FeIIFeIII12(mu3-OH)12(mu4-PO4)4}(B-alpha-PW9O34)4].83H2O (1; en = ethylenediamine), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by IR, optical diffuse reflectance, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The skeleton of 1 is composed of four tri-FeIII-substituted [FeIII3(mu3-OH)3(B-alpha-PW9O34)]3- Keggin moieties fused together through a FeII2O2 unit and four mu4-PO4 bridges, resulting in a unique tetramer with C2 symmetry. Magnetic measurements indicate that 1 reveals the antiferromagnetic interactions between FeII and FeIII centers.  相似文献

A novel mutual selectivity of lanthanoids in the N,N'-bis(5-nitrosalicylidene)ethylenediamine (H2Nsalen)-KCl and N,N'-bis(5-nitrosalicylidene)-o-phenylenediamine (H2Nsaloph)-KCl extraction systems was evaluated by the X-ray analysis of similar model complexes for extracted species. Cerium(IV) complexes with N,N'-bis(5-chlorosalicylidene)ethylenediamine (H2Clsalen), N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-o-phenylenediamine (H2saloph) and N,N'-bis(3,5-dibromosalicylidene)-o-phenylenediamine (H2Br2saloph) were selected as the models. The result of the X-ray analysis suggested that [Ln(III)(Nsalen)2]- and [Ln(III)(Nsaloph)2]- are meridional type (two ligands are oriented perpendicular to each other) and sandwich type (two ligands are oriented parallel to each other), respectively. It was suggested that the selectivity of the meridional structure is superior to that of the sandwich structure in these extraction systems.  相似文献

In this study, firstly, two single substitute novel ligands have been synthesized by reacting melamine with 3,4,-dihydroxybenzaldeyhde or 4-carboxybenzaldehyde. Then, eight new mono nuclear single substitute [Salen/Salophen Fe(III) and Cr(III)] complexes have been synthesized by reacting the ligands [2-(3,4-dihydroxybenzimino)-4,6-diamimo-1,3,5-triazine and 2-(4-carboxybenzimino)-4,6-diamimo-1,3,5-triazine)] with tetradentate Schiff bases N,N′-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine-(salenH2) or bis(salicylidene)-o-phenylenediamine-(salophen H2). And then, all ligands and complexes have been characterized by means of elementel analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, 1H NMR, LC–MS, thermal analyses and magnetic suscebtibility measurements. Finally, metal ratios of the prepared complexes were determined using AAS. The complexes have also been characterized as disorted octahedral low-spin Fe(III) and Cr(III) bridged by catechol and COO? groups.  相似文献

Two new iron(III) complexes, Fe(III)(LF*)3 (1) and FeIII(L(t-Bu*))3 (2), of remote substituted o-aminophenol-based ligands are reported; complexes 1 and 2 contain three O,N-coordinated o-iminobenzosemiquinonate(1-) radical anions with ferric centers in high-spin and low-spin configurations. The crystal structures of 1 and 2 were determined by X-ray diffraction at 100 and 293 K, and the electronic structures were established by various physical methods including M?ssbauer (4-290 K) and variable-temperature (2-290 K) susceptibility measurements. Electrochemical measurements (cyclic and square-wave voltammetry) indicate primarily ligand-centered redox processes. Complex 1, with the more electron-withdrawing fluoro substituents, retains the high-spin character of the ferric ion throughout the temperature range studied (2-290 K) and exhibits, as expected, strong antiferromagnetic coupling operating between three radicals (SR = 1/2) and the high-spin Fe(III) center (SFe = 5/2) yielding an St = 1 as the ground state. In contrast, the occurrence of a thermally induced spin crossover process (SFe = 5/2 <--> SFe = 1/2) is observed for complex 2 FeIII(L(t-Bu*))3, in which more electron donating tert-butyl substituents in the ligand are present. A rationale for the control of the electronic state of ferric ions in 2 together with spin-coupling schemes for 1 and 2 are provided.  相似文献

Self-assembly of a tetradentate ligand, N, N'-bi(salicylidene)-2,6-pyridinediamine (H 2L), with Cu(II) or Co(II), affords a dinuclear [Cu 2L 2] complex ( 1) or a trinuclear [Co 3L 3] complex ( 2), which were characterized by the single crystal X-ray diffraction study. The coordination geometry of the Cu (II) centers in 1 is between square planar and tetrahedral, with the ligand adopting a cis-cis conformation to give a centrally symmetric structure, which can be regarded as a mesocate. However, the coordination geometry of Co (II) centers in 2 is distortedly tetrahedral, and the ligand adopts a cis-trans conformation. The whole complex of 2 is of a pseudo- C 3 symmatrical, torus-like structure, which can be regarded as a circular helicate. Both the mesocate and the helicate exhibit expanded supramolecular structures due to elaborate intercomplex pi-stacking interactions. These two complexes were also characterized by element analysis, IR spectra, and TGA. To verify the stability of 2, ESI-MS was carried out on both the crystal and the powdered samples. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal that both 1 and 2 display antiferromagnetic properties. DFT calculations were carried out on 1 to verify the antiferromagnetic coupling between intracluster metal centers.  相似文献

A hydrated tetra-carboxylato-bridged dinuclear copper(Ⅱ) complex [Cu2(mEP)2(H2O)2]2 (1) (mEp is mono -ethyl phthalate or 1,2-benzenedicarboxylate monoethyl ester) has been prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction single crystal structure analysis and magnetic measurements. This dinuclear complex adopts dimeric paddle-wheel cage structure and the coordination model around each copper(Ⅱ) atom is square-pyramidal with four oxygen atoms of the carboxylate groups from four different mono-ethyl phthalate ligands and one oxygen atom of water as apical position. The magnetic data for 1 exhibited strong intramolecular antiferromagnetic interaction between the two paramagnetic metal ions with 2J=-315.18 cm-1. Comparing with other related complexes in structure and magnetic propertity, the main factor which determines the strong antiferromagnetic interaction in the dimeric copper(Ⅱ) carboxylates is the electronic structure of the bridging O-C-O moiety.
