High spin states in 178Ir have been studied via the 152Sm(31P, 5nγ)178Ir reaction through excitation functions, X-γ and γ-γ-t coincidence measurements. According to the band structure characteristics and the measured intraband B(M1)/B(E2) ratios, two rotational bands are identified and assigned to be associated with the πh 9/2⊗νi 13/2 and πh 11/2⊗νi 13/2 configurations, respectively. Both bands show the signature inversion feature. Received: 23 March 2000 / Accepted: 31 July 2000  相似文献

High-spin properties of the triaxial strongly deformed potential well in 163Lu at excitation energies above resolvable bands have been investigated. Gated E γ-E γ spectra display clear ridges with moments of inertia corresponding to those observed for the discrete strongly deformed bands. A fluctuation analysis of the ridges yields a number of two-step paths of ≈ 40 and ≈ 20, when gating on triaxial strongly or normally deformed bands, respectively. These results show that a potential well at large deformation coexists with the normally deformed well, and indicate a mixing between states in the two wells at higher excitation energy. High-spin properties of the nucleus 169Hf have been studied through the fusion evaporation reaction 96Zr(76Ge,3n)169Hf at a beam energy of 310 MeV. The known rotational bands have been extended considerably and 6 new bands have been established, four of which form coupled bands with pronounced M1 connections. Quasiparticle assignments are suggested for the new band structures, and it appears that coupling to vibrational degrees of freedom plays a role. Both coupled bands involve the excitation of quasiprotons. In the region of highest spin, a large alignment gain is interpreted in terms of a mixed crossing where an h 9/2 and an h 11/2 quasiproton provide the two signatures of the aligning configuration. Excited states of the 119Xe nucleus have been studied by using in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy with the 107Ag ( 16O, p3n) 119Xe fusion-evaporation reaction at a beam energy of 85 MeV. The level scheme of 119Xe has been derived from γ-γ coincidence and γ-γ angular correlation analyses. We have, for the first time, established the second negative-parity favored and unfavored states built on the 11/2- state, namely the yrare rotational bands in 119Xe. In contrast to the behavior of the yrast bands where the favored states are lying lower in energy, the yrare favored states were observed to lie above the unfavored band. Such a signature inversion in 119Xe is changed to be normal at I = 12?. Received: 8 January 2002 / Accepted: 18 April 2002  相似文献

We report the identification of six new superdeformed (SD) bands in 197,198Pb observed with the EUROBALL IV spectrometer. The results are interpreted in the framework of cranked Hartree-Fock calculations with approximate projection on the particle number by means of the Lipkin-Nogami method. A mixing between quasi-particle excitations and an octupole vibration is suggested in the two SD isotopes. We have estimated the ordering of the neutron valence orbitals and confirm indirectly a N = 118 SD gap. Received: 20 December 2000 / Accepted: 24 January 2001  相似文献

The even-even nucleus 128Nd was studied via in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy using the 40Ca + 82Mo reaction at 190 MeV. Two new bands were observed besides the yrast one, that has been extended up to spin 34+. Configurations were assigned to the three bands by analysing their rotational properties and by comparison with the neighboring even-even nuclei. The 106, 108Rh and 110, 112Ag nuclei have been produced as fission fragments following the fusion reaction 28Si + 176Yb at 145 MeV bombarding energy and studied with the Eurogam2 array. The yrast high-spin states of these four odd-odd nuclei, which are observed for the first time, consist of rotational bands in which the odd proton occupies the πg 9/2 subshell and the odd neutron the νh 11/2 subshell. Their behaviour as a function of spin values does not vary with the number of neutrons: as observed in the odd-N neighbouring nuclei, the motion of the odd neutron remains decoupled from the motion of the core, from N = 61 to N = 65. Moreover, the staggering observed in the yrast bands of odd-odd isotopes is strongly reduced as compared to the large values displayed by the rotational bands built on the πg 9/2 subshell in the odd-A Rh and Ag isotopes. The results of particle-rotor calculations indicate that this reduction is related to a change of the core deformation. The 109,111,113Rh nuclei have been produced as fission fragments in the fusion reaction 18O + 208Pb at 85 MeV. Their level schemes have been built from gamma-rays detected using the Euroball IV array. High-spin states of the neutron-rich 111,113Rh nuclei have been identified for the first time. Several rotational bands with the odd proton occupying the πg 9/2, πp 1/2 and π(g 7/2/d 5/2) sub-shells have been observed. A band of low-energy transitions has been identified at excitation energy around 2 MeV in 109,111Rh, which can be interpreted in terms of three-quasiparticle excitation, πg 9/2νh 11/2νg 7/2/d 5/2. In addition another structure built on states located at low excitation energy (608 keV in 111Rh, 570 keV in 113Rh) points out that, as already observed in the lighter isotopes 107,109Rh, triaxial deformation plays a role in the neutron-rich Rh isotopes well beyond the mid-shell. High spin states of 126La have been populated using the reaction 116Sn+14N at 68 MeV. γ-rays and conversion electrons were detected with the GAREL array. Multipolarities of the lowest-lying in-band dipole transitions have been determined from the deduced internal conversion coefficients. Experimental B(M1)/B(E2) ratios have been derived for the bands and compared with calculated values using the D?nau-Frauendorf geometrical model. Configurations are proposed for the bands comparing them with cranked shell model calculations and on the basis of the measured B(M1)/B(E2) ratios. The β-decay of 126La has also been revisited. The population of the 126Ba levels gives a probable spin value of five for the decaying high-spin 126La state with T 1/2≈ 64 s which may indicate a signature inversion in the πh11/2νh11/2 band. The configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky approach has been employed to study the properties and band structures at high spin in the Z = N odd-odd nuclei 46V and 50Mn. The observed bands are explained and terminating states are confirmed by the calculations. The calculated and observed bands are in good agreement without normalization, especially for terminating states. Possible bands with rotation around the intermediate axis and the effect of γ-deformation on the total energy of several interesting configurations are discussed. The even-even nucleus 122Ba was studied via in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy using the 40Ca + 92Mo reaction at 190 MeV. Five bands were observed, four more that can be found in the literature. Configurations were assigned to the various bands from the comparison with the neighboring even-even nuclei. Received: 10 July 2001 / Accepted: 10 October 2001  相似文献

High spin states of 101Rh have been populated using the reaction 70Zn+36S at 130 MeV. γ-rays were detected with the EUROGAM2 array. New high-spin bands have been observed in this nucleus up to 45/2, 57/2 and 65/2+ states. They have been interpreted using the Nilsson-Strutinsky cranking formalism as terminating configurations. Two of the bands were observed up to the predicted terminating states which are built up from g9/2 protons as well as d5/2, g7/2 and h11/2 neutrons relative to a 90Zr core. The band structures built on the 5- isomeric state ( T 1/2 = 3.46 m) in the doubly odd 130Cs nucleus have been established up to I = 24? via the 124Sn(11B, 5n)130Cs reaction. The previously observed bands based on the πh 11/2⊗νh 11/2, πg 7/2⊗νh 11/2 and πd 5/2⊗νh 11/2 configurations and a positive-parity side band with multiple connections to the α = 0 signature partner of the yrast πh 11/2⊗νh 11/2 band have been extended to higher spins. A new band based on the πh 11/2⊗νg 7/2 configuration is observed. The yrast πh 11/2⊗νh 11/2 band exhibits anomalous signature splitting whose magnitude decreases up to spin 15 and then increases without restoring the normal signature splitting. High-spin states in 178Ir were investigated by means of in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy techniques using the multidetector array GASP. Excited states of 178Ir were populated through the 159Tb(24Mg, 5n) fusion-evaporation reaction at E(24 Mg) = 131-141 MeV. Several rotational bands were observed. Among them, the πi 13/2⊗νi 13/2 structure has been identified up to spin 36 ?. This band exhibits an anomalous signature splitting and a signature inversion around spin 25 ?. High-spin states of 103 43Tc have been identified for the first time, this nucleus being produced as fission fragment following the fusion reaction 37Cl + 176Yb at 170 MeV bombarding energy. The high-spin level scheme has been built from the prompt gamma rays detected using the Euroball III array. It exhibits similarities with those of the neighbouring isotopes and isotones. All the band head configurations observed in the 97-105Tc isotopes are identified from the behaviour of the rotational bands built on them. The single-proton states located around the Fermi level are discussed as a function of deformation of these nuclei. Received: 19 January 2001 / Accepted: 23 February 2001  相似文献

High-spin states of 155Gd were populated by using the 154Sm(α,3nγ)155Gd reaction at E α= 33 MeV. γ-γ coincidence, E γ singles, excitation function, and the DCO ratios were measured. we have identified three intermediate bands with ΔI= 2 feeding the positive yrast band. The bands are interpreted as such candidate bands that are mixed with the negative-parity ground state band. This observation can provide a plausible explanation for unusually large population of the positive-parity yrast band observed in a recent Coulomb excitation. Received: 2 November 1999  相似文献

The lifetime and the -decay to the 0+ ground state of the lowest 3- state in 148Gd has been determined. The reduced strength B(E3, 3- 0+)=41 (6) W.u. agrees well with the theoretical value from empirical shell model calculations and can be directly compared with the 12+ 9- two-octupole-phonon one-octupole-phonon strength obtained in the same Recoil Distance Method lifetime measurement. The results of our search for a three octupole-phonon state built on the state is also reported. Received: 7 March 2000 / Accepted: 12 May 2000  相似文献

Lifetimes of states in the yrast superdeformed bands of 163Lu and 164Lu were determined in a Doppler-shift attenuation-method experiment. From fractional Doppler shifts and line shapes, average transition quadrupole moments, Q t = 8.2-0.6 +1.0 b and 7.1-0.6 +0.5 b, were deduced for one of the bands in 163Lu and 164Lu, respectively. These values are much larger than the quadrupole moment of the normal-deformed yrast band in 163Yb, Q t = 4.9-0.4 +1.3 b, that was also determined in this experiment. Comparison to cranking calculations indicates that both superdeformed bands correspond to a local potential energy minimum with a pronounced triaxiality, γ∼ 20°. For a level scheme investigation of 142Gd an experiment with the γ -spectrometer EUROBALLIII has been carried out and lifetimes have been measured with EUROBALL IV using the Doppler-shift attenuation method. The high-spin states have been populated in these experiments by means of the 99Ru(48Ti, 2p3n) reaction at a beam energy of 240MeV and the 114Sn(32S, 2p2n) reaction at 160MeV, respectively. Reduced E2 transition probabilities B(E2) were determined for 15 members of four quadrupole bands. For the interpretation of the positive-parity even-spin quadrupole bands, calculations in the cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky as well as interacting boson models have been performed. From the former calculations it was concluded that the high-spin states of the (+ , 0)1 band in 142Gd represent a triaxial nucleus rotating around the longest principal axis.  相似文献

High-spin states in 59Cu were populated using the fusion-evaporation reaction 28Si + 40Ca at a beam energy of 122 MeV. The Gammasphere Ge-detector array in conjunction with the 4π charged-particle detector array Microball allowed for the detection of γ-rays in coincidence with evaporated light particles. The resulting extensive high-spin decay scheme of 59Cu is presented, which comprises more than 320 γ-ray transitions connecting about 150 excited states. Their spins and parities have been assigned via directional correlations of γ-rays emitted from oriented states. Average quadrupole moments of rotational bands have been determined from the analysis of residual Doppler shifts. Shell model calculations in the fp shell are invoked to study some of the low-spin states, while the experimental characteristics of the rotational bands are analyzed in the configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky (CNS) approach.
