This paper is devoted to studying the initial value problems of the nonlinear Kaup Kupershmidt equations δu/δt + α1 uδ^2u/δx^2 + βδ^3u/δx^3 + γδ^5u/δx^5 = 0, (x,t)∈ E R^2, and δu/δt + α2 δu/δx δ^2u/δx^2 + βδ^3u/δx^3 + γδ^5u/δx^5 = 0, (x, t) ∈R^2. Several important Strichartz type estimates for the fundamental solution of the corresponding linear problem are established. Then we apply such estimates to prove the local and global existence of solutions for the initial value problems of the nonlinear Kaup- Kupershmidt equations. The results show that a local solution exists if the initial function u0(x) ∈ H^s(R), and s ≥ 5/4 for the first equation and s≥301/108 for the second equation.  相似文献

We establish the existence of fundamental solutions for the anisotropic porous medium equation, ut = ∑n i=1(u^mi)xixi in R^n × (O,∞), where m1,m2,..., and mn, are positive constants satisfying min1≤i≤n{mi}≤ 1, ∑i^n=1 mi 〉 n - 2, and max1≤i≤n{mi} ≤1/n(2 + ∑i^n=1 mi).  相似文献

Let u=u(x,t,uo)represent the global solution of the initial value problem for the one-dimensional fluid dynamics equation ut-εuxxt+δux+γHuxx+βuxxx+f(u)x=αuxx,u(x,0)=uo(x), whereα〉0,β〉0,γ〉0,δ〉0 andε〉0 are constants.This equation may be viewed as a one-dimensional reduction of n-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The nonlinear function satisfies the conditions f(0)=0,|f(u)|→∞as |u|→∞,and f∈C^1(R),and there exist the following limits Lo=lim sup/u→o f(u)/u^3 and L∞=lim sup/u→∞ f(u)/u^5 Suppose that the initial function u0∈L^I(R)∩H^2(R).By using energy estimates,Fourier transform,Plancherel's identity,upper limit estimate,lower limit estimate and the results of the linear problem vt-εv(xxt)+δvx+γHv(xx)+βv(xxx)=αv(xx),v(x,0)=vo(x), the author justifies the following limits(with sharp rates of decay) lim t→∞[(1+t)^(m+1/2)∫|uxm(x,t)|^2dx]=1/2π(π/2α)^(1/2)m!!/(4α)^m[∫R uo(x)dx]^2, if∫R uo(x)dx≠0, where 0!!=1,1!!=1 and m!!=1·3…(2m-3)…(2m-1).Moreover lim t→∞[(1+t)^(m+3/2)∫R|uxm(x,t)|^2dx]=1/2π(x/2α)^(1/2)(m+1)!!/(4α)^(m+1)[∫Rρo(x)dx]^2, if the initial function uo(x)=ρo′(x),for some functionρo∈C^1(R)∩L^1(R)and∫Rρo(x)dx≠0.  相似文献

We study large time asymptotics of solutions to the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation ut+uux-uxx+uxxx=0,x∈R,t〉0. We are interested in the large time asymptotics for the case when the initial data have an arbitrary size. We prove that if the initial data u0 ∈H^s (R)∩L^1 (R), where s 〉 -1/2, then there exists a unique solution u (t, x) ∈C^∞ ((0,∞);H^∞ (R)) to the Cauchy problem for the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation, which has asymptotics u(t)=t^-1/2fM((·)t^-1/2)+0(t^-1/2) as t →∞, where fM is the self-similar solution for the Burgers equation. Moreover if xu0 (x) ∈ L^1 (R), then the asymptotics are true u(t)=t^-1/2fM((·)t^-1/2)+O(t^-1/2-γ) where γ ∈ (0, 1/2).  相似文献

We extend the results for 2-D Boussinesq equations from ℝ2 to a bounded domain Ω. First, as for the existence of weak solutions, we transform Boussinesq equations to a nonlinear evolution equation U t + A(t, U) = 0. In stead of using the methods of fundamental solutions in the case of entire ℝ2, we study the qualities of F(u, υ) = (u · ▽)υ to get some useful estimates for A(t, U), which helps us to conclude the local-in-time existence and uniqueness of solutions. Second, as for blow-up criterions, we use energy methods, Sobolev inequalities and Gronwall inequality to control and by and . Furthermore, can control by using vorticity transportation equations. At last, can control . Thus, we can find a blow-up criterion in the form of .   相似文献

In this paper we study solvability of the Cauchy problem of the Kawahara equation 偏导dtu + au偏导dzu + β偏导d^3xu +γ偏导d^5xu = 0 with L^2 initial data. By working on the Bourgain space X^r,s(R^2) associated with this equation, we prove that the Cauchy problem of the Kawahara equation is locally solvable if initial data belong to H^r(R) and -1 〈 r ≤ 0. This result combined with the energy conservation law of the Kawahara equation yields that global solutions exist if initial data belong to L^2(R).  相似文献

We consider the solutions of refinement equations written in the form
where the vector of functions ϕ = (ϕ 1, ..., ϕ r ) T is unknown, g is a given vector of compactly supported functions on ℝ s , a is a finitely supported sequence of r × r matrices called the refinement mask, and M is an s × s dilation matrix with m = |detM|. Inhomogeneous refinement equations appear in the construction of multiwavelets and the constructions of wavelets on a finite interval. The cascade algorithm with mask a, g, and dilation M generates a sequence ϕ n , n = 1, 2, ..., by the iterative process
from a starting vector of function ϕ 0. We characterize the L p -convergence (0 < p < 1) of the cascade algorithm in terms of the p-norm joint spectral radius of a collection of linear operators associated with the refinement mask. We also obtain a smoothness property of the solutions of the refinement equations associated with the homogeneous refinement equation. The Cauchy problem of the generalized Korteweg-de Vries-Benjamin-Ono equation is considered, and low regularity and limit behavior of the solutions are obtained. For k = 1, local well- posedness is obtained for data in H^s(R)(s 〉 -3/4). For k = 2, local result for data in H^S(R)(s 〉1/4) is obtained. For k = 3, local result for data in H^S(R)(s 〉 -1/6) is obtained. Moreover, the solutions of generalized Korteweg-de Vries-Benjamin-Ono equation converge to the solutions of KdV equation if the term of Benjamin-Ono equation tends to zero.  相似文献

The scattering problem is studied, which is described by the equation (-Δ x +q(x,x/ɛ)−E)ψ = f(x), where ψ = ψ (x,ɛ) ∈ ℂ, x ℂ ℝ d , ɛ > 0, E > 0, the function q(x,y) is periodic with respect to y, and the function f is compactly supported. The solution satisfying radiation conditions at infinity is considered, and its asymptotic behavior as ɛ → O is described. The asymptotic behavior of the scattering amplitude of a plane wave is also considered. It is shown that in principal order both the solution and the scattering amplitude are described by the homogenized equation with potential
$ \hat q(x) = \frac{1} {{\left| \Omega \right|}}\int_\Omega {q(x,y)dy} . $ \hat q(x) = \frac{1} {{\left| \Omega \right|}}\int_\Omega {q(x,y)dy} .   相似文献

This paper is concerned with multivariate refinement equations of the type where (?) is the unknown function defined on the s-dimensional Euclidean space Rs, a is a finitely supported nonnegative sequence on Zs, and M is an s×s dilation matrix with m := |detM|. We characterize the existence of L2-solution of refinement equation in terms of spectral radius of a certain finite matrix or transition operator associated with refinement mask a and dilation matrix M. For s = 1 and M = 2, the sufficient and necessary conditions are obtained to characterize the existence of continuous solution of this refinement equation.  相似文献

The goal of this paper is to study the multiplicity result of positive solutions of a class of degenerate elliptic equations. On the basis of the mountain pass theorems and the sub- and supersolutions argument for p-Laplacian operators, under suitable conditions on the nonlinearity f(x, s), we show the following problem:-△pu=λu^α-a(x)u^q in Ω,u│δΩ=0 possesses at least two positive solutions for large λ, where Ω is a bounded open subset of R^N, N ≥ 2, with C^2 boundary, λ is a positive parameter, Ap is the p-Laplacian operator with p 〉 1, α, q are given constants such that p - 1 〈α 〈 q, and a(x) is a continuous positive function in Ω^-.  相似文献

Summary Suppose given a quasi-periodic tiling of some Euclidean space E u which is self-similar under the linear expansiong: Eμ→Eμ. It is known that there is an embedding of Eμ into some higher-dimensional space ℝ N and a linear automorphism with integer coefficients such that E u ⊂ ℝ N is invariant under andg is the restriction of to E u . Let E s be the -invariant complement of E u , and . If certain conditions are fulfilled (e.g. must be a lattice automorphism,g * is an expansion), we construct a self-similar tiling of E s whose expansion isg *, using the information contained in the original tiling of Eμ. The term “Galois duality” of tilings is motivated by the fact that the eigenvalues ofg * are Galois conjugates of those ofg. Our method can be applied to find the Galois duals which are given by Thurston, obtained in a somewhat other way for the case that dim Eμ=1, andg is the multiplication by a cubic Pisot unit. Bandt and Gummelt have found fractally shaped tilings which can be considered as strictly self-similar modifications of the kites-and-darts, and the rhombi tilings of Penrose. As one of the examples, we show that these fractal versions can be constructed by dualizing tilings by Penrose triangles.  相似文献

This work is devoted to attractive invariant manifolds for nonautonomous difference equations, occurring in the discretization theory for evolution equations. Such invariant sets provide a discrete counterpart to inertial manifolds of dissipative FDEs and evolutionary PDEs. We discuss their essential properties, like smoothness, the existence of an asymptotic phase, normal hyperbolicity and attractivity in a nonautonomous framework of pullback attraction. As application we show that inertial manifolds of the Allen–Cahn and complex Ginzburg–Landau equation persist under discretization. For the Ginzburg–Landau equation we can also estimate the dimension of the inertial manifold. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

By employing the generalized Riccati transformation technique, we will establish some new oscillation criteria and study the asymptotic behavior of the nonoscillatory solutions of the second-order nonlinear neutral delay dynamic equation
, on a time scale . The results improve some oscillation results for neutral delay dynamic equations and in the special case when = ℝ our results cover and improve the oscillation results for second-order neutral delay differential equations established by Li and Liu [Canad. J. Math., 48 (1996), 871–886]. When = ℕ, our results cover and improve the oscillation results for second order neutral delay difference equations established by Li and Yeh [Comp. Math. Appl., 36 (1998), 123–132]. When =hℕ, = {t: t = q k , k ∈ ℕ, q > 1}, = ℕ2 = {t 2: t ∈ ℕ}, = = {t n = Σ k=1 n , n ∈ ℕ0}, ={t 2: t ∈ ℕ}, = {√n: n ∈ ℕ0} and ={: n ∈ ℕ0} our results are essentially new. Some examples illustrating our main results are given.   相似文献

The purpose of the present paper is to give an elementary method for the computation of the cohomology groups Hq(X,Ω^p X(L)), (0 ≤q ≤ n) of an n-dimensional non-primary Hopf manifold X with arbitrary fundamental group. We use the method of Zhou to generalize the results for primary Hopf manifolds and non-primary Hopf manifold with an Abelian fundamental group.  相似文献
