A new approach based on complex function for solving the SH-wave scattering problem around a circular hole in an anisotropic media is desribed in this paper. It is found that the scattered energy depends on the incident wave number and the hole radius. Finally, some numerical results of scattered energy of a circular hole in an anisotropic media are given. The project has been supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

Summary The propagation of guided waves in anisotropic media has recently become of interest in two fields, viz. in the interpretation of ferromagnetic resonance experiments and in the construction of microwave fourpoles which violate the reciprocity relation. In both cases we are faced with the solution of Maxwell's equations in a volume which is enclosed by perfectly conducting walls and which is completely or partially filled with a medium whose magnetic permeability is described by a second order tensor. An account is given here of some work, both theoretical and experimental, on this subject. Chapter I is an introduction, containing a short survey of the theory of guided waves in isotropic media and of the problems arising in anisotropic media, together with a historical synopsis. Chapter II gives a general formulation of the theory of guided waves in anisotropic media, comprising the existing theories, and also deals with some new applications. In Chapter III a cavity technique for measuring Faraday rotations is described which has several advantages over older techniques. In Chapter IV experimental results obtained for the series of Ferroxcubes IVA, B, C, D, E are collected. Chapter V finally deals with the physical interpretation of these results. In particular the experimental data are compared with Rado's theory of the permeability tensor in non-saturated ferromagnetics.  相似文献

Three topics on recent developments in elastic waves which are of special interest to researchers in experimental mechanics are discussed. They are: (1) the elastic waves in anisotropic media with particular reference to waves in fiber-reinforced composite materials; (2) the coupled thermoelastic waves in isotropic or anisotropic media; and (3) the interaction of elastic waves with magnetic fields in nonferrous metals, polycrystalline ferromagnetic alloys and saturated ferrimagnetic crystals.  相似文献

The integral equation method is presented for elastodynamic problems of inhomogeneous anisotropic bodies. Since fundamental solutions are not available for general inhomogeneous anisotropic media, we employ the fundamental solution for homogeneous elastostatics. The terms induced by material inhomogeneity and inertia force are regarded as body forces in elastostatics, and evaluated in the form of volume integrals. The scattering problems of elastic waves by inhomogeneous anisotropic inclusions are investigated for some test cases. Numerical results show the significant effects of inhomogeneity and anisotropy of materials on wave propagations.  相似文献

The present work concerns the investigation of the two-dimensional direct scattering problem of time-harmonic elastic waves from bounded anisotropic components of isotropic media. We obtain a Fourier series expansion for the elastic field in the interior of the anisotropic inclusion based on a suitable diagonalization applied to the underlying differential system and a plane wave expansion of the sought field, provided that the inclusion exhibits orthotropic symmetry. This expansion is then exploited to acquire a semi-analytical solution to the associated elastic transmission scattering problem. Numerical results for several geometric configurations and varying degree of anisotropy are presented revealing the pronounced effect of the specific anisotropic character on the scattering mechanism.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to study a problem of reflection and refraction of quasi-longitudinal waves under initial stresses at an interface of two anisotropic piezoelectric media with different properties. One of the two media is aluminum nitride, which is considered the down piezoelectric medium and the above medium is chosen as PZT-5H ceramics. The two piezoelectric media welded are assumed to be anisotropic of a type of a transversely isotropic crystals (hexagonal crystal structure, class 6 mm). The equations of motion and constitutive relations for the piezoelectric media have been written. Suitable boundary conditions are used to obtain the reflection and refraction coefficients. For an incidence of quasi-longitudinal plane waves, four independent-type amplitude ratios of elastic displacement components for plane waves, called quasi-longitudinal (qP) and quasi-shear vertical (qSV) waves, are shown to exist. Also, it is observed that there exist four dependent amplitude ratios of electric potential, which are proportional to the previous four types. Finally, it is found that the coefficients of reflection and refraction are functions of angle of incidence, elastic constants, piezoelectric potential parameters and the initial stresses. Numerical computations and the results obtained are depicted graphically. In the end, a particular case has been reduced from the present study. This investigation is considered important because the initial stresses in such practical problems are inevitable and may result in frequency shift, a change in the velocity of surface waves and controlling the selectivity of a filter compensation of the devices.  相似文献

The problem of dynamic interaction of wave phase fronts with anisotropic elastic media interfaces is considered. A technique based on joint use of the ray theory, locally plane approach and theory of stereomechanical impact is elaborated. It is employed for the investigation of discontinuous waves propagation in anisotropic tectonic structures. The cases of interaction of quasi-longitudinal and quasi-shear discontinuous waves with the interfaces separating different anisotropic elastic media are treated. The issues are considered which are associated with the wave front surfaces bifurcations, generation of their singularities and caustics, as well as with stress concentration and formation of zones where the stresses tend to infinity.  相似文献

In this paper, we use the complex function method for solving the problem of interaction of plane SH-waves and circular cavity surfaced with lining in anisotropic media. Anisotropic media can be used to simulate the conditions of the geology. This problem can be handled by using the method similar to that incorporated in Ref. [5] to define the scattering waves in media, added with the given boundary condition of the circular cavity. In this paper, as illustrated in the examples, the results and discussions of numerical studies have been done for the interaction of plane SH-waves and two kinds of circular cavities, surfaced with lining made up of different materials, in anisotropic media.  相似文献

The results of investigation of propagation of elastic waves in anisotropic media are discussed taking into account the two-dimensional problem of a source in an infinite medium and the Lamb problem for a half-plane. The media considered in the investigation are those for which the equations of motion under plane deformation conditions are characterized by four constants.  相似文献

Summary  Within the scope of linear elasticity, the in-plane problem of an anisotropic plate or laminate with a circular hole and an elliptical hole reinforcement is considered. Arbitrary anisotropic elastic stiffnesses are allowed for the base plate and the reinforcement material, and for the reinforcement there is no restriction for its elliptical shape and size. The analysis of the problem is performed by the complex potential method with appropriately chosen series representations inside and outside the reinforcement region. The derived closed-form solution provides all resultant in-plane stresses and deformations within and around the hole reinforcement with little computational effort and at high accuracy. The determined solution allows a proper and effective assessment of hole reinforcements for many technical applications. Received 26 June 2000; accepted for publication 26 September 2000  相似文献

We examine the surface tension-induced stress concentration around an elliptical hole inside an anisotropic half-plane with traction-free surface. Using conformal mapping techniques, the corresponding complex potential in the half-plane is expressed in a series whose unknown coefficients are determined numerically. Our results indicate that the maximum hoop stress around the hole (which appears in the vicinity of the point of maximum curvature) increases rapidly with decreasing distance between the hole and the free surface. In particular, for an elliptical or even circular hole in an anisotropic half-plane we find that, with decreasing distance between the hole and the free surface, the hoop stress can switch from compressive to tensile at certain points on the hole's boundary and from tensile to compressive at others. This phenomenon is absent in the case of an elliptical or even circular hole in the corresponding case of an isotropic half-plane.  相似文献

In this paper we develop a multiple scattering model for elastic waves in random anisotropic media. It relies on a kinetic approach of wave propagation phenomena pertaining to the situation whereby the wavelength is comparable to the correlation length of the weak random inhomogeneities—the so-called weak coupling limit. The waves are described in terms of their associated energy densities in the phase space position  ××  wave vector. They satisfy radiative transfer equations in this scaling, characterized by collision operators depending on the correlation structure of the heterogeneities. The derivation is based on a multi-scale asymptotic analysis using spatio-temporal Wigner transforms and their interpretation in terms of semiclassical operators, along the same lines as Bal (2005). The model accounts for all possible polarizations of waves in anisotropic elastic media and their interactions, as well as for the degeneracy directions of propagation when two phase speeds possibly coincide. Thus it embodies isotropic elasticity which was considered in several previous publications. Some particular anisotropic cases of engineering interest are derived in detail.  相似文献

The complex function method is used to solve problems of scattering of plane SH-waves on cylindrical canyon topography of arbitrary shape in anisotropic media. This paper gives the complete function series and general expressions with boundary condition to approach the solution of steady state scattering of plane SH-waves on two-dimensional canyon topography in anisotropic media. The problem to be solved can be reduced to a solution of infinite algebraic equation series by using Hermite function and it's orthogonal conditions. The solution can be obtained directly by using computers. Finally, as an example, computational results of scattering of plane SH-waves on a semi-cylindrical canyon topography are presented. Based on the standard spaces of the physical presentation, both the quasi-static mechanical approximation and the quasi-static electromagnetic approximation of piezoelectric solids are studied here. The complete set of uncoupled elastic wave and electromagnetic wave equations are deduced. The results show that the number and propagation speed of elastic waves and electromagnetic waves in anisotropic piezoelectric solids are determined by both the subspaces of electromagnetically anisotropic media and ones of mechanically anisotropic media. Based on these laws, we discuss the propagation behaviour of elastic waves and electromagnetic waves in the piezoelectric material of class 6 mm.  相似文献

The Stroh formalism is employed to discuss the existence of transient surface waves on a viscoelastic anisotropic hall-space. The compatibility conditions, obtained using the integral formulation of Lothe and Barnett [13, 14], are examined on the basis of an asymptotic expansion of the viscoelastic kernel and a separation of space variables. Some previous results on elastic media are extended to viscoelasticity, exploiting the consequences of the second law of thermodynamics. It is found that all the allowed transient surface modes take the form of inhomogeneous plane waves whose amplitude exponentially decays along the propagation direction on the surface. Special solutions are derived explicitly for one-component surface waves where transient modes are admitted also in those cases in which stationary waves cannot occur. The acoustoelastic stress analysis is based on the fact that an initially isotropic material becomes anisotropic under stress. The birefringent effect for polarized ultrasonic shear waves in the stressed material will then be similar to the photoelastic effect in which a light wave and a transparent model specimen are used. In this paper, the velocity differences of acoustical, perpendicularly polarized waves are measured directly by a ‘sing-around’ method using a 5-MHz shear-type transducer. The residual-stress distribution in a mild-steel circular plate with a concentrically patch-welded joint is measured by this method. The acoustoelastic coefficient is obtained separately by uniaxial testing of the base material. The results show that the acoustical stress measurement, carried out nondestructively, agrees well with those obtained by conventional destructive methods as well as with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to correcting structure of the representation for Rayleigh waves at non-semisimple degeneracy of the fundamental matrix. The incorrect representation was given in a paper “Implicit and explicit secular equations for Rayleigh waves in two-dimensional anisotropic media” by Cerv and Plesek (2013) .  相似文献

The current paper is devoted to the study of traveling waves in diffusive random media, including time and/or space recurrent, almost periodic, quasiperiodic, periodic ones as special cases. It first introduces a notion of traveling waves in general random media, which is a natural extension of the classical notion of traveling waves. Roughly speaking, a solution to a diffusive random equation is a traveling wave solution if both its propagating profile and its propagating speed are random variables. Then by adopting such a point of view that traveling wave solutions are limits of certain wave-like solutions, a general existence theory of traveling waves is established. It shows that the existence of a wave-like solution implies the existence of a critical traveling wave solution, which is the traveling wave solution with minimal propagating speed in many cases. When the media is ergodic, some deterministic \hbox{properties} of average propagating profile and average propagating speed of a traveling wave solution are derived. When the media is compact, certain continuity of the propagating profile of a critical traveling wave solution is obtained. Moreover, if the media is almost periodic, then a critical traveling wave solution is almost automorphic and if the media is periodic, then so is a critical traveling wave solution. Applications of the general theory to a bistable media are discussed. The results obtained in the paper generalize many existing ones on traveling waves.
