We study the blow-up and/or global existence of the following p-Laplacian evolution equation with variable source power
$${s_j} = {\beta _j} + \overline {{\beta _{n - j}}}p$$
where Ω is either a bounded domain or the whole space ? N , q(x) is a positive and continuous function defined in Ω with 0 < q ? = inf q(x) ? q(x) ? sup q(x) = q+ < ∞. It is demonstrated that the equation with variable source power has much richer dynamics with interesting phenomena which depends on the interplay of q(x) and the structure of spatial domain Ω, compared with the case of constant source power. For the case that Ω is a bounded domain, the exponent p ? 1 plays a crucial role. If q+ > p ? 1, there exist blow-up solutions, while if q + < p ? 1, all the solutions are global. If q ? > p ? 1, there exist global solutions, while for given q ? < p ? 1 < q +, there exist some function q(x) and Ω such that all nontrivial solutions will blow up, which is called the Fujita phenomenon. For the case Ω = ? N , the Fujita phenomenon occurs if 1 < q ? ? q + ? p ? 1 + p/N, while if q ? > p ? 1 + p/N, there exist global solutions.

This paper studies heat equation with variable exponent u t = Δu + up(x) + u q in ? N × (0, T), where p(x) is a nonnegative continuous, bounded function, 0 < p? = inf p(x) ≤ p(x) ≤ sup p(x) = p+. It is easy to understand for the problem that all nontrivial nonnegative solutions must be global if and only if max {p+, q} ≤ 1. Based on the interaction between the two sources with fixed and variable exponents in the model, some Fujita type conditions are determined that that all nontrivial nonnegative solutions blow up in finite time if 0 < q ≤ 1 with p+ > 1, or 1 < q < 1 + \(\frac{2}{N}\). In addition, if q > 1 + \(\frac{2}{N}\), then (i) all solutions blow up in finite time with 0 < p?p+ ≤ 1 + \(\frac{2}{N}\); (ii) there are both global and nonglobal solutions for p? > 1 + \(\frac{2}{N}\); and (iii) there are functions p(x) such that all solutions blow up in finite time, and also functions p(x) such that the problem possesses global solutions when p? < 1 + \(\frac{2}{N}\) < p+.  相似文献

The sharp inequality of different metrics (Nikol’skii’s inequality) for algebraic polynomials in the interval [?1, 1] between the uniform norm and the norm of the space L q (α,β) , 1 ≤ q < ∞, with Jacobi weight ?(α,β)(x) = (1 ? x)α(1 + x)β α ≥ β > ?1, is investigated. The study uses the generalized translation operator generated by the Jacobi weight. A set of functions is described for which the norm of this operator in the space L q (α,β) , 1 ≤ q < ∞, \(\alpha > \beta \geqslant - \frac{1}{2}\), is attained.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation-?u +(λa(x) + 1)u = |u|~(p-1) u on a locally finite graph G =(V, E). We prove via the Nehari method that if a(x) satisfies certain assumptions, for any λ 1, the equation admits a ground state solution uλ. Moreover, as λ→∞, the solution uλconverges to a solution of the Dirichlet problem-?u + u = |u|~(p-1) u which is defined on the potential well ?. We also provide a numerical experiment which solves the equation on a finite graph to illustrate our results.  相似文献

A k-total coloring of a graph G is a mapping ?: V (G) ? E(G) → {1; 2,..., k} such that no two adjacent or incident elements in V (G) ? E(G) receive the same color. Let f(v) denote the sum of the color on the vertex v and the colors on all edges incident with v: We say that ? is a k-neighbor sum distinguishing total coloring of G if f(u) 6 ≠ f(v) for each edge uvE(G): Denote χ Σ (G) the smallest value k in such a coloring of G: Pil?niak and Wo?niak conjectured that for any simple graph with maximum degree Δ(G), χ Σ ≤ Δ(G)+3. In this paper, by using the famous Combinatorial Nullstellensatz, we prove that for K 4-minor free graph G with Δ(G) > 5; χ Σ = Δ(G) + 1 if G contains no two adjacent Δ-vertices, otherwise, χ Σ (G) = Δ(G) + 2.  相似文献

We study the existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic behavior of blow-up solutions for a general quasilinear elliptic equation of the type ?Δ p u = a(x)u m ?b(x)f(u) with p >  1 and 0 <  mp?1. The main technical tool is a new comparison principle that enables us to extend arguments for semilinear equations to quasilinear ones. Indeed, this paper is an attempt to generalize all available results for the semilinear case with p =  2 to the quasilinear case with p >  1.  相似文献

For the system of root functions of an operator defined by the differential operation ?u″ + p(x)u′ + q(x)u, xG = (0, 1), with complex-valued singular coefficients, sufficient conditions for the Bessel property in the space L2(G) are obtained and a theorem on the unconditional basis property is proved. It is assumed that the functions p(x) and q(x) locally belong to the spaces L2 and W2?1, respectively, and may have singularities at the endpoints of G such that q(x) = qR(x) +qS(x) and the functions qS(x), p(x), q 2 S (x)w(x), p2(x)w(x), and qR(x)w(x) are integrable on the whole interval G, where w(x) = x(1 ? x).  相似文献

We study the Nikol’skii inequality for algebraic polynomials on the interval [?1, 1] between the uniform norm and the norm of the space L q (α,β) , 1 ≤ q < ∞, with the Jacobi weight ?(α,β)(x) = (1 ? x) α (1 + x) β , αβ > ?1. We prove that, in the case α > β ≥ ?1/2, the polynomial with unit leading coefficient that deviates least from zero in the space L q (α+1,,β) with the Jacobi weight ? (α+1,β)(x) = (1?x) α+1(1+x) β is the unique extremal polynomial in the Nikol’skii inequality. To prove this result, we use the generalized translation operator associated with the Jacobi weight. We describe the set of all functions at which the norm of this operator in the space L q (α,β) for 1 ≤ q < ∞ and α > β ≥ ?1/2 is attained.  相似文献

It is known that, if the minimal eigenvalue of a graph is ?2, then the graph satisfies Hoffman’s condition: for any generated complete bipartite subgraph K 1,3 (a 3-claw) with parts {p} and {q 1, q 2, q 3}, any vertex distinct from p and adjacent to the vertices q 1 and q 2 is adjacent to p but not adjacent to q 3. For any operator defined by the differential operation Lu = ?u″ + q(x)u on the interval G = (0, 1) with complex-valued potential q(x) locally integrable on G and satisfying the inequalities \(\int_{{x_1}}^{{x_2}} {\zeta |(q(\zeta ))|d\zeta \leqslant ln({x_1}/{x_2})} \) and \(\int_{{x_1}}^{{x_2}} {\zeta |(q(1 - \zeta ))|d\zeta \leqslant \gamma ln({x_1}/{x_2})} \) with some constant γ for all sufficiently small 0 < x1 < x2, we estimate the norms of root functions in the Lebesgue spaces L p (G), 1 ≤ p < ∞. We show that for sufficiently small γ these norms satisfy the same estimates asymptotic in the spectral parameter as in the unperturbed case.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. The main result of this paper is as follows: If G is a finite group, such that Γ(G) = Γ(2G2(q)), where q = 32n+1 for some n ≥ 1, then G has a (unique) nonabelian composition factor isomorphic to 2 G 2(q). We infer that if G is a finite group satisfying |G| = |2 G 2(q)| and Γ(G) = Γ (2 G 2(q)) then G ? = 2 G 2(q). This enables us to give new proofs for some theorems; e.g., a conjecture of W. Shi and J. Bi. Some applications of this result are also considered to the problem of recognition by element orders of finite groups.  相似文献

Let u =(uh, u3) be a smooth solution of the 3-D Navier-Stokes equations in R3× [0, T). It was proved that if u3 ∈ L∞(0, T;˙B-1+3/p p,q(R3)) for 3 p, q ∞ and uh∈ L∞(0, T; BMO-1(R3)) with uh(T) ∈ VMO-1(R3), then u can be extended beyond T. This result generalizes the recent result proved by Gallagher et al.(2016), which requires u ∈ L∞(0, T;˙B-1+3/pp,q(R3)). Our proof is based on a new interior regularity criterion in terms of one velocity component, which is independent of interest.  相似文献

Consider the set of all proper edge-colourings of a graph G with n colours. Among all such colourings, the minimum length of a longest two-coloured cycle is denoted L(n, G). The problem of understanding L(n, G) was posed by Häggkvist in 1978 and, specifically, L(n, K n,n ) has received recent attention. Here we construct, for each prime power q ≥ 8, an edge-colouring of K n,n with n colours having all two-coloured cycles of length ≤ 2q 2, for integers n in a set of density 1 ? 3/(q ? 1). One consequence is that L(n, K n,n ) is bounded above by a polylogarithmic function of n, whereas the best known general upper bound was previously 2n ? 4.  相似文献

We investigate the problem (P λ) ?Δu = λb(x)|u| q?2 u + a(x)|u| p?2 u in Ω, ?u/?n = 0 on ?Ω, where Ω is a bounded smooth domain in R N (N ≥ 2), 1 < q < 2 < p, λ ∈ R, and a, b\({C^\alpha }\left( {\overline \Omega } \right)\) with 0 < α < 1. Under certain indefinite type conditions on a and b, we prove the existence of two nontrivial nonnegative solutions for small |λ|. We then characterize the asymptotic profiles of these solutions as λ → 0, which in some cases implies the positivity and ordering of these solutions. In addition, this asymptotic analysis suggests the existence of a loop type component in the non-negative solutions set. We prove the existence of such a component in certain cases, via a bifurcation and a topological analysis of a regularized version of (P λ).  相似文献
