In this paper we establish that the pressure gradient and the flux, for a linear stationary Stokes problem for general periodic two-dimensional channels, are related by a simple formula, the same as that for laminar Poiseuille flows.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of global, periodic and stationary solutions for flows of incompressible viscoelastic fluids for which the extra-stress tensor satisfies a differential constitutive law. More precisely, we prove that the results obtained by C Guillopé and J.C. Saut [5] remain true without any restriction on the smallness of the retardation parameter.  相似文献

We construct a cohomological index of the Fuller type for set-valued flows in normed linear spaces satisfying the properties of existence, excision, additivity, homotopy and topological invariance. In particular, the constructed index detects periodic orbits and stationary points of set-valued dynamical systems, i.e., those generated by differential inclusions. The basic methods to calculate the index are also presented.  相似文献

The study by Yudovich [V.I. Yudovich, Example of the generation of a secondary stationary or periodic flow when there is loss of stability of the laminar flow of a viscous incompressible fluid, J. Math. Mech. 29 (1965) 587-603] on spatially periodic flows forced by a single Fourier mode proved the existence of two-dimensional spectral spaces and each space gives rise to a bifurcating steady-state solution. The investigation discussed herein provides a structure of secondary steady-state flows. It is constructed explicitly by an expansion that when the Reynolds number increases across each of its critical values, a unique steady-state solution bifurcates from the basic flow along each normal vector of the two-dimensional spectral space. Thus, at a single Reynolds number supercritical value, the bifurcating steady-state solutions arising from the basic solution form a circle.  相似文献

Abstract

Vector-valued, asymptotically stationary processes on σ-compact locally compact amenable groups are studied. For such processes, we introduce associated spectral measures. Using an “almost periodic Fourier transform,” one can identify the almost periodic spectrum of the asymptotically stationary covariance, and we construct a natural, consistent estimator for this almost periodic spectrum.  相似文献

Asymptotic-in-time interior feedback control of a panel interacting with an inviscid, subsonic flow is considered. The classical model [8] is given by a clamped nonlinear plate strongly coupled to a convected wave equation on the half space. In the absence of energy dissipation the plate dynamics converge to a compact and finite dimensional set [6, 7]. With a sufficiently large velocity feedback control on the structure we show that the full flow-plate system exhibits strong convergence to the set of stationary states in the natural energy topology. We show a decomposition of the dynamics into “smooth” component and global-in-timeHadamard continuous component, thus permitting approximation by smooth data. That the flows are subsonic is critical for our approach. Our result implies that flutter (a periodic or chaotic end behavior) is not present in subsonic flows with sufficient viscous damping in the structure.  相似文献

In this paper,we use a unified framework to study Poisson stable(including stationary,periodic,quasi-periodic,almost periodic,almost automorphic,Birkhoff recurrent,almost recurrent in the sense of Bebutov,Levitan almost periodic,pseudo-periodic,pseudo-recurrent and Poisson stable)solutions for semilinear stochastic differential equations driven by infinite dimensional L′evy noise with large jumps.Under suitable conditions on drift,diffusion and jump coefficients,we prove that there exist solutions which inherit the Poisson stability of coefficients.Further we show that these solutions are globally asymptotically stable in square-mean sense.Finally,we illustrate our theoretical results by several examples.  相似文献

We state a fundamental correspondence between geodesics on stationary spacetimes and the equations of classical particles on Riemannian manifolds, accelerated by a potential and a magnetic field. By variational methods, we prove some existence and multiplicity theorems for fixed energy solutions (joining two points or periodic) of the above described Riemannian equation. As a consequence, we obtain existence and multiplicity results for geodesics with fixed energy, connecting a point to a line or periodic trajectories, in (standard) stationary spacetimes.  相似文献

A periodic Kolmogorov type flow is implemented in a lattice gas automaton. For given aspect ratios of the automaton universe and within a range of Reynolds number values, the averaged flow evolves towards a stationary two-dimensional ABC type flow. We show the analogy between the streamlines of the flow in the automaton and the phase plane trajectories of a dynamical system. In practice flows are commonly studied by seeding the fluid with suspended particles which play the role of passive tracers. Since an actual flow is time-dependent and has fluctuations, the tracers exhibit interesting intrinsic dynamics. When tracers are implemented in the automaton and their trajectories are followed, we find that the tracers displacements obey a diffusion law, with “super-diffusion” in the direction orthogonal to the direction of the initial forcing.  相似文献

By using methods of the Markov renewal theory, we find conditions for the existence of a stationary mode for multichannel networks with semi-Markov input stream. As a tool of stationary distribution analysis, we introduce multivariate binomial moments and investigate their asymptotic properties. For a multichannel queuing system with periodic input stream, we construct the generating function of the stationary distribution in explicit form in terms of the parameters of the system under consideration.  相似文献

We suggest an approach to the stabilization of unstable periodic solutions of autonomous systems of partial differential equations based on the introduction of a derivative system in which each periodic solution of the original system is stationary. By using the introduction of an additional space into the derivative system, we suggest to stabilize its stationary solution corresponding to a periodic solution of the original system. This approach permits effectively obtaining a complete ordered set of functions corresponding to an unstable cycle of the original system. We consider an example of stabilization of an unstable cycle in the Kuramoto-Tsuzuki system.  相似文献

This paper studies stationary customer flows in an open queueing network. The flows are the processes counting customers flowing from one queue to another or out of the network. We establish the existence of unique stationary flows in generalized Jackson networks and convergence to the stationary flows as time increases. We establish heavy-traffic limits for the stationary flows, allowing an arbitrary subset of the queues to be critically loaded. The heavy-traffic limit with a single bottleneck queue is especially tractable because it yields limit processes involving one-dimensional reflected Brownian motion. That limit plays an important role in our new nonparametric decomposition approximation of the steady-state performance using indices of dispersion and robust optimization.

We consider a system of nonlinear differential equations which describes the spatial motion of an ideal incompressible fluid on a rotating plane in the shallow water approximation and a more general system of the theory of long waves which takes into account the specifics of shear flows. Using the group analysis methods, we calculate the 9-dimensional Lie algebras of infinitesimal operators admissible by the models. We establish an isomorphism of these Lie algebras with a known Lie algebra of operators admissible by the system of equations for the two-dimensional isentropic motions of a polytropic gas with the adiabatic exponent γ = 2. The nontrivial symmetries of the models under consideration enable us to carry out the group generation of the solutions. The class of stationary solutions to the equations of rotating shallow water transforms into a new class of periodic solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we give the equivalent definitions of topological pressure for flows by using spanning sets, weakly spanning sets, strongly separated sets and tracing sets, respectively. We get an inequality between the topological pressures of Lipschitz conjugate flows, and prove that the topological pressure of expansive flows with tracing property can be described by its periodic orbits.  相似文献

We study the rich structure of periodic stationary solutions of Nagumo reaction diffusion equation on lattices. By exploring the relationship with Nagumo equations on cyclic graphs we are able to divide these periodic solutions into equivalence classes that can be partially ordered and counted. For such processes, we introduce a stationary spectral measure and show that it is discrete if and only if the asymptotically stationary covariance function is almost periodic. The main result of the paper concerns the existence of nontrivial exponentially decaying solutions to periodic stationary discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equations with saturable nonlinearities, provided that zero belongs to a spectral gap of the linear part. The proof is based on the critical point theory in combination with periodic approximations of solutions. As a preliminary step, we prove also the existence of nontrivial periodic solutions with arbitrarily large periods.  相似文献

In this paper, two stochastic predator–prey models with general functional response and higher-order perturbation are proposed and investigated. For the nonautonomous periodic case of the system, by using Khasminskii’s theory of periodic solution, we show that the system admits a nontrivial positive T-periodic solution. For the system disturbed by both white and telegraph noises, sufficient conditions for positive recurrence and the existence of an ergodic stationary distribution to the solutions are established. The existence of stationary distribution implies stochastic weak stability to some extent.  相似文献

A numerical study is made on the stability of multiple steady flows and heat transfer in tightly coiled ducts by examining their responses to finite random disturbances. It is found that possible physically realizable fully developed flows evolve, as the Dean number increases, from a stable steady symmetric 2-cell flow at lower Dean numbers to a temporal periodic oscillation, a temporal intermittent oscillation, another temporal periodic oscillation, the co-existence of stable steady symmetric 2-cell flow and temporal oscillating flows (either periodic or aperiodic), and the co-existence of three stable steady 2-cell flows (either symmetric or asymmetric) and aperiodic oscillating flows.  相似文献
