Let Fk be a mapping from RZ to RZ, satisfying that for xRZ and nZ, Fk(x)(n) is the (k+1)th largest value (median value) of the 2k+1 numbers x(nk),…,x(n),…,x(n+k). In [3] [W.Z. Ye, L. Wang, L.G. Xu, Properties of locally convergent sequences with respect to median filter, Discrete Mathematics 309 (2009) 2775–2781], we conjectured that for k∈{2,3}, if there exists n0Z such that x is locally finitely convergent with respect to Fk on {n0,…,n0+k−1}, then x is finitely convergent with respect to Fk. In this paper, we obtain some sufficient conditions for a sequence finitely converging with respect to median filters. Based on these results, we prove that the conjecture is true.  相似文献

We consider Hill's equation y″+(λq)y=0 where qL1[0,π]. We show that if ln—the length of the n-th instability interval—is of order O(n−(k+2)) then the real Fourier coefficients ank,bnk of q(k)k-th derivative of q—are of order O(n−2), which implies that q(k) is absolutely continuous almost everywhere for k=0,1,2,….  相似文献

We study the long time behavior of solutions for damped wave equations with absorption. These equations are generally accepted as models of wave propagation in heterogeneous media with space-time dependent friction a(t,x)ut and nonlinear absorption |u|p−1u (Ikawa (2000) [17]). We consider 1<p<(n+2)/(n−2) and separable a(t,x)=λ(x)η(t) with λ(x)∼(1+|x|)α and η(t)∼(1+t)β satisfying conditions (A1) or (A2) which are given. The main results are precise decay estimates for the energy, L2 and Lp+1 norms of solutions. We also observe the following behavior: if α∈[0,1), β∈(−1,1) and 0<α+β<1, there are three different regions for the decay of solutions depending on p; if α∈(−,0) and β∈(−1,1), there are only two different regions for the decay of the solutions depending on p.  相似文献

We present several conditions sufficient for global stability of the zero solution of nonautonomous difference equation xn+1=qxn+fn(xn,…,xnk), nZ, when the nonlinearities fn satisfy a sort of negative feedback condition. Moreover, for every kN, we indicate qk such that one of our stability conditions is sharp if q∈(0,qk]. We apply our results to discrete versions of Nicholson's blowflies equation, the Mackey-Glass equations, and the Wazewska and Lasota equation.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of multiple positive solutions to some Hamiltonian elliptic systems −Δv=λu+up+εf(x), −Δu=μv+vq+δg(x) in Ω;u,v>0 in Ω; u=v=0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain in RN (N?3); 0?f, g∈L∞(Ω); 1/(p+1)+1/(q+1)=(N−2)/N, p,q>1; λ,μ>0. Using sub- and supersolution method and based on an adaptation of the dual variational approach, we prove the existence of at least two nontrivial positive solutions for all λ,μ∈(0,λ1) and ε,δ∈(0,δ0), where λ1 is the first eigenvalue of the Laplace operator −Δ with zero Dirichlet boundary conditions and δ0 is a positive number.  相似文献

Let p(x) = ∑k = 0nakxk and let q(x) = ∑j = 0mbjxj, with an ≠ 0, bm ≠ 0, anbm ∈ F, bjF for some j ≥ 1. Suppose that p ∈ K[x], q ∈ K[x]\F[x], p, not constant. Our main result is that p ° q ∉ F[x] and DF(p ° q) = DF(q). With only the assumption that anbm ∈ F, we prove the inequality DF(p ° q) ≥ DF(q). This inequality also holds if F and K are only rings. Similar results are proven for fields of finite characteristic with the additional assumption that the characteristic of the field does not divide the degree of p. Finally we extend our results to polynomials in two variables and compositions of the form p(q(xy)), where p is a polynomial in one variable.  相似文献

Let (a,b)∈Z2, where b≠0 and (a,b)≠(±2,−1). We prove that then there exist two positive relatively prime composite integers x1, x2 such that the sequence given by xn+1=axn+bxn−1, n=2,3,… , consists of composite terms only, i.e., |xn| is a composite integer for each nN. In the proof of this result we use certain covering systems, divisibility sequences and, for some special pairs (a,±1), computer calculations. The paper is motivated by a result of Graham who proved this theorem in the special case of the Fibonacci-like sequence, where (a,b)=(1,1).  相似文献

We prove that the classical model of an infectious disseise, which never kills and which does not induce autoimmunity, is integrable. This model can be written as x=−bxymx+cy+mk, y=bxy−(m+c)y with parameters b,c,k,mR. The odd-order differential equation (−1)nx(2n+1)=f(t,x,…,x(2n)) together with the Lidstone boundary conditions x(2j)(0)=x(2j)(T)=0, 0?j?n−1, and the next condition x(2n)(0)=0 is discussed. Here f satisfying the local Carathéodory conditions can have singularities at the value zero of all its phase variables. We investigate the existence of nonnegative weak solutions to the problem ut=Δ(um)−p|∇u| in Rn×(0,∞) with +(1−2/n)<m<1. It will be proved that: (i) When 1<p<2, if the initial datum u0D(Rn) then there exists a solution; (ii) When 1<p<(2+mn)/(n+1), if the initial datum u0(x) is a bounded and nonnegative measure then the solution exists; (iii) When (2+mn)/(n+1)?p<2, if the initial datum is a Dirac mass then the solution does not exist. The concept of degree distance of a connected graph G is a variation of the well-known Wiener index, in which the degrees of vertices are also involved. It is defined by D(G)=∑xV(G)d(x)∑yV(G)d(x,y), where d(x) and d(x,y) are the degree of x and the distance between x and y, respectively. In this paper it is proved that connected graphs of order n≥4 having the smallest degree distances are K1,n−1,BS(n−3,1) and K1,n−1+e (in this order), where BS(n−3,1) denotes the bistar consisting of vertex disjoint stars K1,n−3 and K1,1 with central vertices joined by an edge.  相似文献

For the nth order differential equation, y(n)=f(x,y,y,…,y(n−1)), we consider uniqueness implies existence results for solutions satisfying certain nonlocal (k+2)-point boundary conditions, 1?k?n−1.
