In accordance with the demands of the so-called local approach to inverse problems, the set of “waves” uf (·, T) is studied, where uf (x,t) is the solution of the initial boundary-value problem utt−Δu=0 in Ω×(0,T), u|t<0=0, u|∂Ω×(0,T)=f, and the (singular) control f runs over the class L2((0,T); H−m (∂Ω)) (m>0). The following result is established. Let ΩT={x ∈ Ω : dist(x, ∂Ω)<T)} be a subdomain of Ω ⊂ ℝn (diam Ω<∞) filled with waves by a final instant of time t=T, let T*=inf{T : ΩT=Ω} be the time of filling the whole domain Ω. We introduce the notation Dm=Dom((−Δ)m/2), where (−Δ) is the Laplace operator, Dom(−Δ)=H2(Ω)∩H 0 1 (Ω);D−m=(Dm)′;D−mT)={y∈D−m:supp y ⋐ ΩT. If T<T., then the reachable set R m T ={ut(·, T): f ∈ L2((0,T), H−m (∂Ω))} (∀m>0), which is dense in D−mT), does not contain the class C 0 T). Examples of a ∈ C 0 , a ∈ R m T , are presented. Consider the Cauchy problem ∂u(x, t)/∂t = ℋu(x, t) (x∈ℤd, t≥ 0) with initial condition u(x, 0) ≡ 1 and with ℋ the Anderson Hamiltonian ℋ = κΔ + ξ. Here Δ is the discrete Laplacian, κ∈ (0, ∞) is a diffusion constant, and ξ = {ξ(x): x∈ℤ d } is an i.i.d.random field taking values in ℝ. G?rtner and Molchanov (1990) have shown that if the law of ξ(0) is nondegenerate, then the solution u is asymptotically intermittent. In the present paper we study the structure of the intermittent peaks for the special case where the law of ξ(0) is (in the vicinity of) the double exponential Prob(ξ(0) > s) = exp[−e s ] (s∈ℝ). Here θ∈ (0, ∞) is a parameter that can be thought of as measuring the degree of disorder in the ξ-field. Our main result is that, for fixed x, y∈ℤ d and t→∈, the correlation coefficient of u(x, t) and u(y, t) converges to ∥w ρ−2 ℓ2Σz ∈ℤd w ρ(x+z)w ρ(y+z). In this expression, ρ = θ/κ while w ρ:ℤd→ℝ+ is given by w ρ = (v ρ) d with v ρ: ℤ→ℝ+ the unique centered ground state (i.e., the solution in ℓ2(ℤ) with minimal l 2-norm) of the 1-dimensional nonlinear equation Δv + 2ρv log v = 0. The uniqueness of the ground state is actually proved only for large ρ, but is conjectured to hold for any ρ∈ (0, ∞). empty It turns out that if the right tail of the law of ξ(0) is thicker (or thinner) than the double exponential, then the correlation coefficient of u(x, t) and u(y, t) converges to δ x, y (resp.the constant function 1). Thus, the double exponential family is the critical class exhibiting a nondegenerate correlation structure. Received: 5 March 1997 / Revised version: 21 September 1998  相似文献

We consider nonlinear elliptic equations of the form −Δu = g(u) in Ω, u = 0 on ∂Ω, and Hamiltonian-type systems of the form −Δu = g(v) in Ω, −Δv = f(u) in Ω, u = 0 and v = 0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain in ℝ2 and f, gC(ℝ) are superlinear nonlinearities. In two dimensions the maximal growth (= critical growth) of f and g (such that the problem can be treated variationally) is of exponential type, given by Pohozaev-Trudinger-type inequalities. We discuss existence and nonexistence results related to the critical growth for the equation and the system. A natural framework for such equations and systems is given by Sobolev spaces, which provide in most cases an adequate answer concerning the maximal growth involved. However, we will see that for the system in dimension 2, the Sobolev embeddings are not sufficiently fine to capture the true maximal growths. We will show that working in Lorentz spaces gives better results. Dedicated to Professor S. Nikol’skii on the occasion of his 100th birthday  相似文献

This paper deals with the strongly coupled parabolic system ut = v^m△u, vt = u^n△v, (x, t) ∈Ω × (0,T) subject to nonlinear boundary conditions 偏du/偏dη = u^αv^p, 偏du/偏dη= u^qv^β, (x, t) ∈ 偏dΩ × (0, T), where Ω 包含 RN is a bounded domain, m, n are positive constants and α,β, p, q are nonnegative constants. Global existence and nonexistence of the positive solution of the above problem are studied and a new criterion is established. It is proved that the positive solution of the above problem exists globally if and only if α 〈 1,β 〈 1 and (m +p)(n + q) ≤ (1 - α)(1 -β).  相似文献

We study the existence and the properties of reduced measures for the parabolic equations t u − Δu + g(u) = 0 in Ω × (0, ∞) subject to the conditions (P): u = 0 on Ω × (0, ∞), u(x, 0) = μ and (P′): u = μ′ on Ω × (0, ∞), u(x, 0) = 0, where μ and μ′ are positive Radon measures and g is a continuous nondecreasing function.  相似文献

We derive W 2,p (Ω)-a priori estimates with arbitrary p ∈(1, ∞), for the solutions of a degenerate oblique derivative problem for linear uniformly elliptic operators with low regular coefficients. The boundary operator is given in terms of directional derivative with respect to a vector field ℓ that is tangent to ∂Ω at the points of a non-empty set ε ⊂ ∂Ω and is of emergent type on ∂Ω.   相似文献

The paper addresses the existence and uniqueness of entropy solutions for the degenerate triply nonlinear problem: b(v) t − div α(v, ▽g(v)) = f on Q:= (0, T) × Ω with the initial condition b(v(0, ·)) = b(v 0) on Ω and the nonhomogeneous boundary condition “v = u” on some part of the boundary (0, T) × ∂Ω”. The function g is continuous locally Lipschitz continuous and has a flat region [A 1, A 2,] with A 1 ≤ 0 ≤ A 2 so that the problem is of parabolic-hyperbolic type.  相似文献

One considers a semilinear parabolic equation u t = Lua(x)f(u) or an elliptic equation u tt + Lua(x)f(u) = 0 in a semi-infinite cylinder Ω × ℝ+ with the nonlinear boundary condition , where L is a uniformly elliptic divergent operator in a bounded domain Ω ∈ ℝn; a(x) and b(x) are nonnegative measurable functions in Ω. One studies the asymptotic behavior of solutions of such boundary-value problems for t → ∞. __________ Translated from Trudy Seminara imeni I. G. Petrovskogo, No. 26, pp. 368–389, 2007.  相似文献

Let Ω= [a, b] × [c, d] and T 1, T 2 be partial integral operators in (Ω): (T 1 f)(x, y) = k 1(x, s, y)f(s, y)ds, (T 2 f)(x, y) = k 2(x, ts, y)f(t, y)dt where k 1 and k 2 are continuous functions on [a, b] × Ω and Ω × [c, d], respectively. In this paper, concepts of determinants and minors of operators EτT 1, τ ∈ ℂ and EτT 2, τ ∈ ℂ are introduced as continuous functions on [a, b] and [c, d], respectively. Here E is the identical operator in C(Ω). In addition, Theorems on the spectra of bounded operators T 1, T 2, and T = T 1 + T 2 are proved.   相似文献

For a given contractionT in a Banach spaceX and 0<α<1, we define the contractionT α j=1 a j T j , where {a j } are the coefficients in the power series expansion (1-t)α=1-Σ j=1 a j t j in the open unit disk, which satisfya j >0 anda j >0 and Σ j=1 a j =1. The operator calculus justifies the notation(I−T) α :=I−T α (e.g., (I−T 1/2)2=I−T). A vectory∈X is called an, α-fractional coboundary for T if there is anx∈X such that(I−T) α x=y, i.e.,y is a coboundary forT α . The fractional Poisson equation forT is the Poisson equation forT α . We show that if(I−T)X is not closed, then(I−T) α X strictly contains(I−T)X (but has the same closure). ForT mean ergodic, we obtain a series solution (converging in norm) to the fractional Poisson equation. We prove thaty∈X is an α-fractional coboundary if and only if Σ k=1 T k y/k 1-α converges in norm, and conclude that lim n ‖(1/n 1-α k=1 n T k y‖=0 for suchy. For a Dunford-Schwartz operatorT onL 1 of a probability space, we consider also a.e. convergence. We prove that iff∈(I−T) α L 1 for some 0<α<1, then the one-sided Hilbert transform Σ k=1 T k f/k converges a.e. For 1<p<∞, we prove that iff∈(I−T) α L p with α>1−1/p=1/q, then Σ k=1 T k f/k 1/p converges a.e., and thus (1/n 1/p ) Σ k=1 n T k f converges a.e. to zero. Whenf∈(I−T) 1/q L p (the case α=1/q), we prove that (1/n 1/p (logn)1/q k=1 n T k f converges a.e. to zero.  相似文献

We give a decomposition of the Hardy space Hz^1(Ω) into "div-curl" quantities for Lipschitz domains in R^n. We also prove a decomposition of Hz^1(Ω) into Jacobians det Du, u ∈ W0^1,2 (Ω,R^2) for Ω in R^2. This partially answers a well-known open problem.  相似文献

Let P(D) be a partial differential operator with constant coefficients which is surjective on the space A(Ω) of real analytic functions on a covex open set Ω⊂ℝ n . Let L(P m ) denote the localizations at ∞ (in the sense of H?rmander) of the principal part P m . Then Q(x+iτN)≠ 0 for (x,τ)∈ℝ n ×(ℝ\{ 0}) for any QL(P m ) if N is a normal to δΩ which is noncharacteristic for Q. Under additional assumptions this implies that P m must be locally hyperbolic. An Application of a Mountain Pass Theorem   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
We are concerned with the following Dirichlet problem: −Δu(x) = f(x, u), x∈Ω, uH 1 0(Ω), (P) where f(x, t) ∈C (×ℝ), f(x, t)/t is nondecreasing in t∈ℝ and tends to an L -function q(x) uniformly in x∈Ω as t→ + ∞ (i.e., f(x, t) is asymptotically linear in t at infinity). In this case, an Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz-type condition, that is, for some θ > 2, M > 0, 0 > θF(x, s) ≤f(x, s)s, for all |s|≥M and x∈Ω, (AR) is no longer true, where F(x, s) = ∫ s 0 f(x, t)dt. As is well known, (AR) is an important technical condition in applying Mountain Pass Theorem. In this paper, without assuming (AR) we prove, by using a variant version of Mountain Pass Theorem, that problem (P) has a positive solution under suitable conditions on f(x, t) and q(x). Our methods also work for the case where f(x, t) is superlinear in t at infinity, i.e., q(x) ≡ +∞. Received June 24, 1998, Accepted January 14, 2000.  相似文献

We continue the study of generalized tractability initiated in our previous paper “Generalized tractability for multivariate problems, Part I: Linear tensor product problems and linear information”, J. Complex. 23:262–295, 2007. We study linear tensor product problems for which we can compute linear information which is given by arbitrary continuous linear functionals. We want to approximate an operator S d given as the d-fold tensor product of a compact linear operator S 1 for d=1,2,…, with ‖S 1‖=1 and S 1 having at least two positive singular values. Let n(ε,S d ) be the minimal number of information evaluations needed to approximate S d to within ε∈[0,1]. We study generalized tractability by verifying when n(ε,S d ) can be bounded by a multiple of a power of T(ε −1,d) for all (ε −1,d)∈Ω⊆[1,∞)×ℕ. Here, T is a tractability function which is non-decreasing in both variables and grows slower than exponentially to infinity. We study the exponent of tractability which is the smallest power of T(ε −1,d) whose multiple bounds n(ε,S d ). We also study weak tractability, i.e., when . In our previous paper, we studied generalized tractability for proper subsets Ω of [1,∞)×ℕ, whereas in this paper we take the unrestricted domain Ω unr=[1,∞)×ℕ. We consider the three cases for which we have only finitely many positive singular values of S 1, or they decay exponentially or polynomially fast. Weak tractability holds for these three cases, and for all linear tensor product problems for which the singular values of S 1 decay slightly faster than logarithmically. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions on the function T such that generalized tractability holds. These conditions are obtained in terms of the singular values of S 1 and mostly asymptotic properties of T. The tractability conditions tell us how fast T must go to infinity. It is known that T must go to infinity faster than polynomially. We show that generalized tractability is obtained for T(x,y)=x 1+ln y . We also study tractability functions T of product form, T(x,y)=f 1(x)f 2(x). Assume that a i =lim inf  x→∞(ln ln f i (x))/(ln ln x) is finite for i=1,2. Then generalized tractability takes place iff
and if (a 1−1)(a 2−1)=1 then we need to assume one more condition given in the paper. If (a 1−1)(a 2−1)>1 then the exponent of tractability is zero, and if (a 1−1)(a 2−1)=1 then the exponent of tractability is finite. It is interesting to add that for T being of the product form, the tractability conditions as well as the exponent of tractability depend only on the second singular eigenvalue of S 1 and they do not depend on the rate of their decay. Finally, we compare the results obtained in this paper for the unrestricted domain Ω unr with the results from our previous paper obtained for the restricted domain Ω res=[1,∞)×{1,2,…,d *}∪[1,ε 0−1)×ℕ with d *≥1 and ε 0∈(0,1). In general, the tractability results are quite different. We may have generalized tractability for the restricted domain and no generalized tractability for the unrestricted domain which is the case, for instance, for polynomial tractability T(x,y)=xy. We may also have generalized tractability for both domains with different or with the same exponents of tractability.   相似文献

Let Ω be an open bounded set in ℝN, N≥3, with connected Lipschitz boundary ∂Ω and let a(x,ξ) be an operator of Leray–Lions type (a(⋅,∇u) is of the same type as the operator |∇u|p−2u, 1<p<N). If τ is the trace operator on ∂Ω, [φ] the jump across ∂Ω of a function φ defined on both sides of ∂Ω, the normal derivative ∂/∂νa related to the operator a is defined in some sense as 〈a(⋅,∇u),ν〉, the inner product in ℝN, of the trace of a(⋅,∇u) on ∂Ω with the outward normal vector field ν on ∂Ω. If β and γ are two nondecreasing continuous real functions everywhere defined in ℝ, with β(0)=γ(0)=0, fL1(ℝN), gL1(∂Ω), we prove the existence and the uniqueness of an entropy solution u for the following problem,

We derive a Carleson type estimate for positive solutions of non-divergence second order elliptic equations Lu = a ij D ij u + b i D i u = 0 in a bounded domain Ω ⊂ ℝ n . We assume that b i L n (Ω) and Ω is a twisted H?lder domain of order α ∈ (1/2, 1] which satisfies a weak regularity condition.  We prove that the solution u of the equation u t =Δlog u, u>0, in (Ω\{x 0})×(0,T), Ω⊂ℝ2, has removable singularities at {x 0}×(0,T) if and only if for any 0<α<1, 0<a<b<T, there exist constants ρ0, C 1, C 2>0, such that C 1 |xx 0|αu(x,t)≤C 2|xx 0|−α holds for all 0<|xx 0|≤ρ0 and atb. As a consequence we obtain a sufficient condition for removable singularities at {∞}×(0,T) for solutions of the above equation in ℝ2×(0,T) and we prove the existence of infinitely many finite mass solutions for the equation in ℝ2×(0,T) when 0≤u 0L 1 (ℝ2) is radially symmetric and u 0L loc 1(ℝ2). In this paper, we first consider a delay difference equation of neutral type of the form: Δ(y n + py n−k + q n y n−l = 0 for n∈ℤ+(0) (1*) and give a different condition from that of Yu and Wang (Funkcial Ekvac, 1994, 37(2): 241–248) to guarantee that every non-oscillatory solution of (1*) with p = 1 tends to zero as n→∞. Moreover, we consider a delay reaction-diffusion difference equation of neutral type of the form: Δ1(u n,m + pu n−k,m ) + q n,m u n−l,m = a 2Δ2 2 u n +1, m−1 for (n,m) ∈ℤ+ (0) ×Ω, (2*) study various cases of p in the neutral term and obtain that if p≥−1 then every non-oscillatory solution of (2*) tends uniformly in m∈Ω to zero as n→∞; if p = −1 then every solution of (2*) oscillates and if p < −1 then every non-oscillatory solution of (2*) goes uniformly in m∈Ω to infinity or minus infinity as n→∞ under some hypotheses. In this paper, we present a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of solutions in a Sobolev space Wpk(ℝs) (1≤p≤∞) to a vector refinement equation with a general dilation matrix. The criterion is constructive and can be implemented. Rate of convergence of vector cascade algorithms in a Sobolev space Wpk(ℝs) will be investigated. When the dilation matrix is isotropic, a characterization will be given for the Lp (1≤p≤∞) critical smoothness exponent of a refinable function vector without the assumption of stability on the refinable function vector. As a consequence, we show that if a compactly supported function vector φ∈Lp(ℝs) (φ∈C(ℝs) when p=∞) satisfies a refinement equation with a finitely supported matrix mask, then all the components of φ must belong to a Lipschitz space Lip(ν,Lp(ℝs)) for some ν>0. This paper generalizes the results in R.Q. Jia, K.S. Lau and D.X. Zhou (J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 7 (2001) 143–167) in the univariate setting to the multivariate setting.
