Exact controllability for the wave equation with variable coefficients   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We consider in this paper the evolution systemy″−Ay=0, whereA = i(aijj) anda ijC 1 (ℝ+;W 1,∞ (Ω)) ∩W 1,∞ (Ω × ℝ+), with initial data given by (y 0,y 1) ∈L 2(Ω) ×H −1 (Ω) and the nonhomogeneous conditiony=v on Γ ×]0,T[. Exact controllability means that there exist a timeT>0 and a controlv such thaty(T, v)=y′(T, v)=0. The main result of this paper is to prove that the above system is exactly controllable whenT is “sufficiently large”. Moreover, we obtain sharper estimates onT.  相似文献

We study the existence and the properties of reduced measures for the parabolic equations t u − Δu + g(u) = 0 in Ω × (0, ∞) subject to the conditions (P): u = 0 on Ω × (0, ∞), u(x, 0) = μ and (P′): u = μ′ on Ω × (0, ∞), u(x, 0) = 0, where μ and μ′ are positive Radon measures and g is a continuous nondecreasing function.  相似文献

Let φ be a convex l.s.c. function fromH (Hilbert) into ] - ∞, ∞ ] andD(φ)={uH; φ(u)<+∞}. It is proved that for everyu 0D(φ) the equation − (du/dt)(t ∈ ∂φ(u(t)),u(0)=u 0 has a solution satisfying ÷(du(t)/dt)÷ ≦(c 1/t)+c 2. The behavior ofu(t) in the neighborhood oft=0 andt=+∞ as well as the inhomogeneous equation (du(t)/dt)+∂φ(u(t)) ∈f(t) are then studied. Solutions of some nonlinear boundary value problems are given as applications.   相似文献

In this paper, we first consider a delay difference equation of neutral type of the form: Δ(y n + py n−k + q n y n−l = 0 for n∈ℤ+(0) (1*) and give a different condition from that of Yu and Wang (Funkcial Ekvac, 1994, 37(2): 241–248) to guarantee that every non-oscillatory solution of (1*) with p = 1 tends to zero as n→∞. Moreover, we consider a delay reaction-diffusion difference equation of neutral type of the form: Δ1(u n,m + pu n−k,m ) + q n,m u n−l,m = a 2Δ2 2 u n +1, m−1 for (n,m) ∈ℤ+ (0) ×Ω, (2*) study various cases of p in the neutral term and obtain that if p≥−1 then every non-oscillatory solution of (2*) tends uniformly in m∈Ω to zero as n→∞; if p = −1 then every solution of (2*) oscillates and if p < −1 then every non-oscillatory solution of (2*) goes uniformly in m∈Ω to infinity or minus infinity as n→∞ under some hypotheses. This paper deals with the strongly coupled parabolic system ut = v^m△u, vt = u^n△v, (x, t) ∈Ω × (0,T) subject to nonlinear boundary conditions 偏du/偏dη = u^αv^p, 偏du/偏dη= u^qv^β, (x, t) ∈ 偏dΩ × (0, T), where Ω 包含 RN is a bounded domain, m, n are positive constants and α,β, p, q are nonnegative constants. Global existence and nonexistence of the positive solution of the above problem are studied and a new criterion is established. It is proved that the positive solution of the above problem exists globally if and only if α 〈 1,β 〈 1 and (m +p)(n + q) ≤ (1 - α)(1 -β).  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the global existence, uniqueness and L estimates of weak solutions to quasilinear parabolic equation of m-Laplacian type u t − div(|∇u| m−2u) = u|u| β−1Ω |u| α dx in Ω × (0,∞) with zero Dirichlet boundary condition in tdΩ. Further, we obtain the L estimate of the solution u(t) and ∇u(t) for t > 0 with the initial data u 0L q (Ω) (q > 1), and the case α + β < m − 1.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the heat flow of harmonic maps between two compact Riemannian Manifolds M and N (without boundary) with a free boundary condition. That is, the following initial boundary value problem ∂1,u −Δu = Γ(u)(∇u, ∇u) [tT Tu uN, on M × [0, ∞), u(t, x) ∈ Σ, for x ∈ ∂M, t > 0, ∂u/t6n(t, x) ⊥u Tu(t,x) Σ, for x ∈ ∂M, t > 0, u(o,x) = uo(x), on M, where Σ is a smooth submanifold without boundary in N and n is a unit normal vector field of M along ∂M. Due to the higher nonlinearity of the boundary condition, the estimate near the boundary poses considerable difficulties, even for the case N = ℝn, in which the nonlinear equation reduces to ∂tu-Δu = 0. We proved the local existence and the uniqueness of the regular solution by a localized reflection method and the Leray-Schauder fixed point theorem. We then established the energy monotonicity formula and small energy regularity theorem for the regular solutions. These facts are used in this paper to construct various examples to show that the regular solutions may develop singularities in a finite time. A general blow-up theorem is also proven. Moreover, various a priori estimates are discussed to obtain a lower bound of the blow-up time. We also proved a global existence theorem of regular solutions under some geometrical conditions on N and Σ which are weaker than KN <-0 and Σ is totally geodesic in N.  相似文献

We consider nonlinear elliptic equations of the form −Δu = g(u) in Ω, u = 0 on ∂Ω, and Hamiltonian-type systems of the form −Δu = g(v) in Ω, −Δv = f(u) in Ω, u = 0 and v = 0 on ∂Ω, where Ω is a bounded domain in ℝ2 and f, gC(ℝ) are superlinear nonlinearities. In two dimensions the maximal growth (= critical growth) of f and g (such that the problem can be treated variationally) is of exponential type, given by Pohozaev-Trudinger-type inequalities. We discuss existence and nonexistence results related to the critical growth for the equation and the system. A natural framework for such equations and systems is given by Sobolev spaces, which provide in most cases an adequate answer concerning the maximal growth involved. However, we will see that for the system in dimension 2, the Sobolev embeddings are not sufficiently fine to capture the true maximal growths. We will show that working in Lorentz spaces gives better results. Dedicated to Professor S. Nikol’skii on the occasion of his 100th birthday  相似文献

We consider the two-parameter nonlinear eigenvalue problem?−Δu = μu − λ(u + u p + f(u)), u > 0 in Ω, u = 0 on ∂Ω,?where p>1 is a constant and μ,λ>0 are parameters. We establish the asymptotic formulas for the variational eigencurves λ=λ(μ,α) as μ→∞, where α>0 is a normalizing parameter. We emphasize that the critical case from a viewpoint of the two-term asymptotics of the eigencurve is p=3. Moreover, it is shown that p=5/3 is also a critical exponent from a view point of the three-term asymptotics when Ω is a ball or an annulus. This sort of criticality for two-parameter problems seems to be new. Received: February 9, 2002; in final form: April 3, 2002?Published online: April 14, 2003  相似文献

An Application of a Mountain Pass Theorem   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
We are concerned with the following Dirichlet problem: −Δu(x) = f(x, u), x∈Ω, uH 1 0(Ω), (P) where f(x, t) ∈C (×ℝ), f(x, t)/t is nondecreasing in t∈ℝ and tends to an L -function q(x) uniformly in x∈Ω as t→ + ∞ (i.e., f(x, t) is asymptotically linear in t at infinity). In this case, an Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz-type condition, that is, for some θ > 2, M > 0, 0 > θF(x, s) ≤f(x, s)s, for all |s|≥M and x∈Ω, (AR) is no longer true, where F(x, s) = ∫ s 0 f(x, t)dt. As is well known, (AR) is an important technical condition in applying Mountain Pass Theorem. In this paper, without assuming (AR) we prove, by using a variant version of Mountain Pass Theorem, that problem (P) has a positive solution under suitable conditions on f(x, t) and q(x). Our methods also work for the case where f(x, t) is superlinear in t at infinity, i.e., q(x) ≡ +∞. Received June 24, 1998, Accepted January 14, 2000.  相似文献

Consider the Cauchy problem ∂u(x, t)/∂t = ℋu(x, t) (x∈ℤd, t≥ 0) with initial condition u(x, 0) ≡ 1 and with ℋ the Anderson Hamiltonian ℋ = κΔ + ξ. Here Δ is the discrete Laplacian, κ∈ (0, ∞) is a diffusion constant, and ξ = {ξ(x): x∈ℤ d } is an i.i.d.random field taking values in ℝ. G?rtner and Molchanov (1990) have shown that if the law of ξ(0) is nondegenerate, then the solution u is asymptotically intermittent. In the present paper we study the structure of the intermittent peaks for the special case where the law of ξ(0) is (in the vicinity of) the double exponential Prob(ξ(0) > s) = exp[−e s ] (s∈ℝ). Here θ∈ (0, ∞) is a parameter that can be thought of as measuring the degree of disorder in the ξ-field. Our main result is that, for fixed x, y∈ℤ d and t→∈, the correlation coefficient of u(x, t) and u(y, t) converges to ∥w ρ−2 ℓ2Σz ∈ℤd w ρ(x+z)w ρ(y+z). In this expression, ρ = θ/κ while w ρ:ℤd→ℝ+ is given by w ρ = (v ρ) d with v ρ: ℤ→ℝ+ the unique centered ground state (i.e., the solution in ℓ2(ℤ) with minimal l 2-norm) of the 1-dimensional nonlinear equation Δv + 2ρv log v = 0. The uniqueness of the ground state is actually proved only for large ρ, but is conjectured to hold for any ρ∈ (0, ∞). empty It turns out that if the right tail of the law of ξ(0) is thicker (or thinner) than the double exponential, then the correlation coefficient of u(x, t) and u(y, t) converges to δ x, y (resp.the constant function 1). Thus, the double exponential family is the critical class exhibiting a nondegenerate correlation structure. Received: 5 March 1997 / Revised version: 21 September 1998  相似文献

In this paper, we study the initial-boundary value problem of the porous medium equation u t  = Δu m  + V(x)u p in a cone D = (0, ∞) × Ω, where V(x) ~ (1 + |x|) σ . Let ω 1 denote the smallest Dirichlet eigenvalue for the Laplace–Beltrami operator on Ω and let l denote the positive root of l 2 + (n − 2)l = ω 1. We prove that if m ≤ p ≤ m + (2 + σ)/(n + l), then the problem has no global nonnegative solutions for any nonnegative u 0 unless u 0 = 0; if p > m + (2 + σ)/n, then the problem has global solutions for some u 0 ≥ 0.  相似文献

We prove that the solution u of the equation u t =Δlog u, u>0, in (Ω\{x 0})×(0,T), Ω⊂ℝ2, has removable singularities at {x 0}×(0,T) if and only if for any 0<α<1, 0<a<b<T, there exist constants ρ0, C 1, C 2>0, such that C 1 |xx 0|αu(x,t)≤C 2|xx 0|−α holds for all 0<|xx 0|≤ρ0 and atb. As a consequence we obtain a sufficient condition for removable singularities at {∞}×(0,T) for solutions of the above equation in ℝ2×(0,T) and we prove the existence of infinitely many finite mass solutions for the equation in ℝ2×(0,T) when 0≤u 0L 1 (ℝ2) is radially symmetric and u 0L loc 1(ℝ2). Consider the equation −Δu = 0 in a bounded smooth domain , complemented by the nonlinear Neumann boundary condition ∂ν u = f(x, u) − u on ∂Ω. We show that any very weak solution of this problem belongs to L (Ω) provided f satisfies the growth condition |f(x, s)| ≤ C(1 + |s| p ) for some p ∈ (1, p*), where . If, in addition, f(x, s) ≥ −C + λs for some λ > 1, then all positive very weak solutions are uniformly a priori bounded. We also show by means of examples that p* is a sharp critical exponent. In particular, using variational methods we prove the following multiplicity result: if N ∈ {3, 4} and f(x, s) =  s p then there exists a domain Ω and such that our problem possesses at least two positive, unbounded, very weak solutions blowing up at a prescribed point of ∂Ω provided . Our regularity results and a priori bounds for positive very weak solutions remain true if the right-hand side in the differential equation is of the form h(x, u) with h satisfying suitable growth conditions.  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet problem for positive solutions of the equation −Δm (u) = f(u) in a bounded smooth domain Ω, with f positive and locally Lipschitz continuous. We prove a Harnack type inequality for the solutions of the linearized operator, a Harnack type comparison inequality for the solutions, and exploit them to prove a Strong Comparison Principle for solutions of the equation, as well as a Strong Maximum Principle for the solutions of the linearized operator. We then apply these results, together with monotonicity results recently obtained by the authors, to get regularity results for the solutions. In particular we prove that in convex and symmetric domains, the only point where the gradient of a solution u vanishes is the center of symmetry (i.e. Z≡{x∈ Ω ∨ D(u)(x) = 0 = {0} assuming that 0 is the center of symmetry). This is crucial in the study of m-Laplace equations, since Z is exactly the set of points where the m-Laplace operator is degenerate elliptic. As a corollary uC2(Ω∖{0}). Let Ω be an open bounded set in ℝN, N≥3, with connected Lipschitz boundary ∂Ω and let a(x,ξ) be an operator of Leray–Lions type (a(⋅,∇u) is of the same type as the operator |∇u|p−2u, 1<p<N). If τ is the trace operator on ∂Ω, [φ] the jump across ∂Ω of a function φ defined on both sides of ∂Ω, the normal derivative ∂/∂νa related to the operator a is defined in some sense as 〈a(⋅,∇u),ν〉, the inner product in ℝN, of the trace of a(⋅,∇u) on ∂Ω with the outward normal vector field ν on ∂Ω.
