By introducing the entangled Fresnel operator (EFO) this paper demonstrates that there exists ABCD theorem for two-mode entangled case in quantum optics. The canonical operator method as mapping of ray-transfer ABCD matrix is explicitly shown by EFO's normally ordered expansion through the coherent state representation and the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators.  相似文献

By introducing the entangled state representation and the two-mode Fresnel operator we provide quantum mechanical version for Bessel beam's classical propagation in ABCD optical system. This provides the opportunity of studying various classical Fresnel transformations in the context of quantum optics.  相似文献

In terms of the coherent state evolution in phase space,we present a quantum mechanical version of the classical Liouville theorem. The evolution of the coherent state from |z>to|sz-rz*> corresponds to the motion from a point z(q,p) to another point sz-rz* with |s|2-|r|2=1.The evolution is governed by the so-called Fresnel operator U(s,r) that was recently proposed in quantum optics theory, which classically corresponds to the matrix optics law and the optical Fresnel transformation, and obeys group product rules. In other words,we can recapitulate the Liouville theorem in the context of quantum mechanics by virtue of coherent state evolution in phase space, which seems to be a combination of quantum statistics and quantum optics.  相似文献

By virtue of the new technique of performing integration over Dirac’s ket–bra operators, we explore quantum optical version of classical optical transformations such as optical Fresnel transform, Hankel transform, fractional Fourier transform, Wigner transform, wavelet transform and Fresnel–Hadmard combinatorial transform etc. In this way one may gain benefit for developing classical optics theory from the research in quantum optics, or vice-versa. We cannot only find some new quantum mechanical unitary operators which correspond to the known optical transformations, deriving a new theorem for calculating quantum tomogram of density operators, but also can reveal some new classical optical transformations. For examples, we find the generalized Fresnel operator (GFO) to correspond to the generalized Fresnel transform (GFT) in classical optics. We derive GFO’s normal product form and its canonical coherent state representation and find that GFO is the loyal representation of symplectic group multiplication rule. We show that GFT is just the transformation matrix element of GFO in the coordinate representation such that two successive GFTs is still a GFT. The ABCD rule of the Gaussian beam propagation is directly demonstrated in the context of quantum optics. Especially, the introduction of quantum mechanical entangled state representations opens up a new area in finding new classical optical transformations. The complex wavelet transform and the condition of mother wavelet are studied in the context of quantum optics too. Throughout our discussions, the coherent state, the entangled state representation of the two-mode squeezing operators and the technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators are fully used. All these have confirmed Dirac’s assertion: “...for a quantum dynamic system that has a classical analogue, unitary transformation in the quantum theory is the analogue of contact transformation in the classical theory”.  相似文献

We find that the mapping from classical optical transformations to the optical operator method can be realized by using the coherent state representation and the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators. The optical Fresnel operator derived in (Commun. Theor. Phys. (Beijing, China) 38 (2002) 147) can unify those frequently used optical operators. Various decompositions of Fresnel operator into the exponential canonical operators are obtained.  相似文献

Using the technique of integral within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators we show that the wavelet transform can be recasted to a matrix element of squeezing-displacing operator between the mother wavelet state vector and the state vector to be transformed in the context of quantum mechanics. In this way many quantum optical states' wavelet transform can be easily derived.  相似文献

We analyse the optical four-wave mixing operator S and relate it to the two-mode Fresnel operator. It is shown that the direct product of the two-mode Fresnel operator and the single-mode Fresnel operator has a natural representation on the basis of a three-mode entangled state, which is constructed by S and a beam splitter transform.  相似文献

Starting from the optical fractional Fourier transform (FFT) and using the technique of integration withinan ordered product of operators we establish a formalism of FFT for quantum mechanical wave functions. In doing so, theessence of FFT can be seen more clearly, and the FFT of some wave functions can be derived more directly and concisely. We also point out that different FFT integral kernels correspond to different quantum mechanical representations. Theyare generalized FFT. The relationship between the FFT and the rotated Wigner operator is studied by virtue of theWeyl ordered form of the Wigner operator.  相似文献

In terms of the coherent state evolution in phase space, we present a quantum mechanical version of the classical Liouville theorem. The evolution of coherent state from |z〉to |sz-rz*〉angle corresponds to the motion from a point z(q,p) to another point sz-rz* with |s|2-|r|2=1. The evolution is governed by the so-called Fresnel operator U(s,r) recently proposed in quantum optics theory, which classically corresponds to the matrix optics law and the optical Fresnel transformation and obeys the group product rules. In another word, we can recapitulate the Liouville theorem in the context of quantum mechanics by virtue of coherent state evolution in phase space, which seems to be a combination of quantum statistics and quantum optics.  相似文献

Using the identity of operator decomposition we obtain a normal ordered form of the time-evolution operator for cross coupling quantum harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian system in two dimensions, which is just a special two-mode Fresnel operator. The Feynman propagator for the Hamiltonian system is found by a direct calculation by means of the method deriving the matrix element of two-mode Fresnel operator in the entangled state representation. The technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators is employed to derive the matrix elements of the operator in the coherent state and the entangled state representations.  相似文献

Base on our preceding paper [H.Y. Fan, H.L. Lu, Opt. Commun. 258 (2006) 51] we find that there exists ABCD rule involved in the product of general SU(1,1) squeezing operators, which can be considered as the quantum optics countpart of the ABCD rule in classical optics. Both one- and two-mode cases are considered, especially, the ABCD theorem embodied in the Fresnel transformation of two-mode number state is exhibited.  相似文献

Based on the displacement-squeezing related squeezed coherent state representation ≤ft\vert z\right\rangle _{g} and using the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators, this paper finds a generalized Fresnel operator, whose matrix element in the coordinate representation leads to a generalized Collins formula (Huygens--Fresnel integration transformation describing optical diffraction). The generalized Fresnel operator is derived by a quantum mechanical mapping from z to sz-rz^{\ast } in the % ≤ft\vert z\right\rangle _{g} representation, while ≤ft\vert z\right\rangle _{g} in phase space is graphically denoted by an ellipse.  相似文献

When a gauge field interacts with a quantum condensed matter system, at first order of the gauge field it couples to the current operator of the electrons. Higher orders of the gauge field couple to electrons through other operators such as the stress tensor, etc. On the other hand, when one performs a measurement on a quantum system, not only the current operator, but also stress tensor operator of the electrons, etc. are hidden in the measurement, as they contribute to the gauge invariant current. We formulate a general problem of nonlinear optical response of the gauge invariant currents in presence of nonlinear couplings. We show that the new couplings along with new responses arising from field current have a very simple structure which can be formulated as time ordered multi-particle correlation functions. We also obtain their Lehman representation and thereby show that one need not use non-equilibrium formulations to deal with them. These new correlation functions suggest that in nonlinear optical response many new processes are possible. The experimental detection of the new terms in the current operator, and application corresponding multi-photon processes needs further theoretical and experimental investigations.  相似文献

We study optical Fresnel transforms by finding the appropriate quantum mechanical SU(1,1) squeezing operators which are composed of quadratic combination of canonical operators. In one-mode case, the squeezing operator's matrix element in the coordinate basis is just the kernel of one-dimensional generalized Fresnel transform (GFT); while in two-mode case, the matrix element of the squeezing operator in the entangled state basis leads to the two-dimensional GFT kernel. The work links optical transforms in wave optics to generalized squeezing transforms in quantum optics.  相似文献

We discuss the problem of a spin 1/2 impurity immersed in a spin S magnetically ordered background. We show that the problem maps onto a generalization of the dissipative two level system with two independent heat baths, associated with the Goldstone modes of the magnet, that couple to different components of the impurity spin operator. Using analytical perturbative renormalization group methods and accurate numerical renormalization group we show that contrary to other dissipative models there is quantum frustration of decoherence and quasiscaling even in the strong coupling regime. We make predictions for the behavior of the impurity magnetic susceptibility. Our results may also have relevance to quantum computation.  相似文献

The geometrical optics in Fresnel quantum holography for quantum entangled two-photon source and classical thermal light source based on the second-order correlation measurement has been discussed. We theoretically prove that the Fresnel quantum hologram of the detected object can be obtained through second-order correlation measurement and the optical reconstruction process can be accomplished by making use of a point light source.  相似文献

The dual picture of quantum geometry provided by a spin network state is discussed. From this perspective, we introduce a new operator in Loop Quantum Gravity—the length operator. We describe its quantum geometrical meaning and derive some of its properties. In particular we show that the operator has a discrete spectrum and is diagonalized by appropriate superpositions of spin network states. A series of eigenstates and eigenvalues is presented and an explicit check of its semiclassical properties is discussed.  相似文献

The symplectic wavelet transformation proposed in Opt. Lett. 31, 3432 (2006), which is related to the optical Fresnel transform in the quantum optics version, is developed into an entangled symplectic wavelet transformation (ESWT) after pointing out the contrast between the single-mode Fresnel operator and the entangled Fresnel operator. The ESWT possesses well-behaved properties and corresponds to the entangled Fresnel transform [Phys. Lett. A334, 132 (2005)].  相似文献
