We present a method for computing pth roots using a polynomial basis over finite fields of odd characteristic p, p ≥ 5, by taking advantage of a binomial reduction polynomial. For a finite field extension of our method requires p − 1 scalar multiplications of elements in by elements in . In addition, our method requires at most additions in the extension field. In certain cases, these additions are not required. If z is a root of the irreducible reduction polynomial, then the number of terms in the polynomial basis expansion of z 1/p , defined as the Hamming weight of z 1/p or , is directly related to the computational cost of the pth root computation. Using trinomials in characteristic 3, Ahmadi et al. (Discrete Appl Math 155:260–270, 2007) give is greater than 1 in nearly all cases. Using a binomial reduction polynomial over odd characteristic p, p ≥ 5, we find always.   相似文献

Let be a field of characteristic and S 1 the unit circle. We prove that the shc-structure on a cochain algebra (A,d A ) induces an associative product on the negative cyclic homology HC * A. When the cochain algebra (A,d A ) is the algebra of normalized cochains of the simply connected topological space X with coefficients in , then HC * A is isomorphic as a graded algebra to the S 1-equivariant cohomology algebra of LX, the free loop space of X. We use the notion of shc-formality introduced in Topology 41, 85–106 (2002) to compute the S 1-equivariant cohomology algebras of the free loop space of the complex projective space when n + 1 = 0 [p] and of the even spheres S 2n when p = 2.   相似文献

We give a very simple and elementary proof of the existence of a weakly compact family of probability measures {Pθ : θ∈θ} representing an important sublinear expectation- G-expectation E[·]. We consider the solutions of refinement equations written in the form

Inhomogeneous refinement equations appear in the construction of multiwavelets and the constructions of wavelets on a finite interval. The cascade algorithm with mask a, g, and dilation M generates a sequence ϕ n , n = 1, 2, ..., by the iterative process
from a starting vector of function ϕ 0. We characterize the L p -convergence (0 < p < 1) of the cascade algorithm in terms of the p-norm joint spectral radius of a collection of linear operators associated with the refinement mask. We also obtain a smoothness property of the solutions of the refinement equations associated with the homogeneous refinement equation. We show that for any sufficiently homogeneous metrizable compactum X there is a Polish group G acting continuously on the space of rational numbers such that X is its unique G-compactification. Let E be a Galois extension of ℚ of degree l, not necessarily solvable. In this paper we first prove that the L-function L(s, π) attached to an automorphic cuspidal representation π of cannot be factored nontrivially into a product of L-functions over E. Next, we compare the n-level correlation of normalized nontrivial zeros of L(s, π1)…L(s, π k ), where π j , j = 1,…, k, are automorphic cuspidal representations of , with that of L(s,π). We prove a necessary condition for L(s, π) having a factorization into a product of L-functions attached to automorphic cuspidal representations of specific , j = 1,…,k. In particular, if π is not invariant under the action of any nontrivial σ ∈ Gal E/ℚ, then L(s, π) must equal a single L-function attached to a cuspidal representation of and π has an automorphic induction, provided L(s, π) can factored into a product of L-functions over ℚ. As E is not assumed to be solvable over ℚ, our results are beyond the scope of the current theory of base change and automorphic induction. Our results are unconditional when m,m 1,…,m k are small, but are under Hypothesis H and a bound toward the Ramanujan conjecture in other cases. By modifying a construction for Hadamard (Menon) difference sets we construct two infinite families of negative Latin square type partial difference sets in groups of the form where p is any odd prime. One of these families has the well-known Paley parameters, which had previously only been constructed in p-groups. This provides new constructions of Hadamard matrices and implies the existence of many new strongly regular graphs including some that are conference graphs. As a corollary, we are able to construct Paley–Hadamard difference sets of the Stanton-Sprott family in groups of the form when is a prime power. These are new parameters for such difference sets.   相似文献

We explore the relationship between contact forms on defined by Finsler metrics on and the theory developed by H. Hofer, K. Wysocki and E. Zehnder (Hofer etal. Ann. Math. 148, 197–289, 1998; Ann. Math. 157, 125–255, 2003). We show that a Finsler metric on with curvature K ≥ 1 and with all geodesic loops of length > π is dynamically convex and hence it has either two or infinitely many closed geodesics. We also explain how to explicitly construct J-holomorphic embeddings of cylinders asymptotic to Reeb orbits of contact structures arising from Finsler metrics on with K = 1, thus complementing the results obtained in Harris and Wysocki (Trans. Recently the first author presented exact formulas for the number of 2 n -periodic binary sequences with given 1-error linear complexity, and an exact formula for the expected 1-error linear complexity and upper and lower bounds for the expected k-error linear complexity, k ≥ 2, of a random 2 n -periodic binary sequence. A crucial role for the analysis played the Chan–Games algorithm. We use a more sophisticated generalization of the Chan–Games algorithm by Ding et al. to obtain exact formulas for the counting function and the expected value for the 1-error linear complexity for p n -periodic sequences over prime. Additionally we discuss the calculation of lower and upper bounds on the k-error linear complexity of p n -periodic sequences over .   相似文献
