Kinetics of the complex formation of chromium(III) with alanine in aqueous medium has been studied at 45, 50, and 55°C, pH 3.3–4.4, and μ = 1 M (KNO3). Under pseudo first-order conditions the observed rate constant (kobs) was found to follow the rate equation: Values of the rate parameters (kan, k, KIP, and K) were calculated. Activation parameters for anation rate constants, ΔH(kan) = 25 ± 1 kJ mol?1, ΔH(k) = 91 ± 3 kJ mol?1, and ΔS(kan) = ?244 ± 3 JK?1 mol?1, ΔS(k) = ?30 ± 10 JK?1 mol?1 are indicative of an (Ia) mechanism for kan and (Id) mechanism for k routes (‥substrate Cr(H2O) is involved in the k route whereas Cr(H2O)5OH2+ is involved in k′ route). Thermodynamic parameters for ion-pair formation constants are found to be ΔH°(KIP) = 12 ± 1 kJ mol?1, ΔH°(K) = ?13 ± 3 kJ mol?1 and ΔS°(KIP) = 47 ± 2 JK?1 mol?1, and ΔS°(K) = 20 ± 9 JK?1 mol?1.  相似文献

The ligands (L) bis (2-pyridyl) methane (BPM) and 6-methyl-bis (2-pyridyl)methane (MBPM) form the three complexes CuL2+, CuL, and Cu2L2H with Cu2+. Stability constants are log K1 = 6.23 ± 0.06, log K2 = 4.83 ± 0.01, and log K (Cu2L2H + 2H2+ ? 2 CuL2+) = ?10.99 ± 0.03 for BPM and 4.56 ± 0.02, 2.64 ± 0.02, and ?11.17 ± 0.03 for MBPM, respectively. In the presence of catalytic amounts of Cu2+, the ligands are oxygenated to the corresponding ketones at room temperature and neutral pH. With BPM and 2,4,6-trimethylpyridine (TMP) as the substrate and the buffer base, respectively, the kinetics of the oxygenation can be described by the rate law with k1 = (5.9 ± 0.2) · 10?13 mol l?1 s?1, k2 = (4.0 ± 0.6) · 10?4 mol?1 ls?1, k3 = (1.1 ± 0.1) · 10?12 mol l?1 s?1, and k4 = (9 ± 2) · 10?14 mol l?1 s?1.  相似文献

The interaction of the palladium(II) complex [Pd(hzpy)(H2O)2]2+, where hzpy is 2‐hydrazinopyridine, with purine nucleoside adenosine 5′‐monophosphate (5′‐AMP) was studied kinetically under pseudo‐first‐order conditions, using stopped‐flow techniques. The reaction was found to take place in two consecutive reaction steps, which are both dependent on the actual 5′‐AMP concentration. The activation parameters for the two reaction steps, i.e. ΔH = 32 ±2 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?168 ±7 J K?1 mol?1, and ΔH = 28 ± 1 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?126 ± 5 J K?1 mol?1, respectively, were evaluated and suggested an associative mode of activation for both substitution processes. The stability constants and the associated speciation diagram of the complexes were also determined potentiometrically. The isolated solid complex was characterized by C, H, and N elemental analyses, IR, magnetic, and molar conductance measurements. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The kinetics of formation and dissociation of [V(H2O)5NCS]2+ have been studied, as a function of excess metal-ion concentration, temperature, and pressure, by the stopped-flow technique. The thermodynamic stability of the complex was also determined spectrophotometrically. The kinetic and equilibrium data were submitted to a combined analysis. The rate constants and activation parameters for the formation (f) and dissociation (r) of the complex are: k/M ?1 · S?1 = 126.4, k/s?1 = 0.82; ΔH /kJ · mol?1 = 49.1, ΔH/kJ · mol?1 = 60.6; ΔS/ J·K?1·mol?1= ?39.8, ΔSJ·K?1·mol?1 = ?43.4; ΔV/cm3·mol?1 = ?9.4, and ΔV/cm3 · mol?1 =?17.9. The equilibrium constant for the formation of the monoisothiocynato complex is K298/M ?1 = 152.9, and the enthalpy and entropy of reaction are ΔH0/kJ · mol?1 = ? 11.4 and ΔS0/J. K?1mol?1 = +3.6. The reaction volume is ΔV0/cm3· mol?1 = +8.5. The activation parameters for the complex-formation step are similar to those for the water exchange on [V(H2O)6]3+ obtained previously by NMR techniques. The activation volumes for the two processes are consistent with an associative interchange, Ia, mechanism.  相似文献

The kinetics of the bromate ion-iodide ion-L-ascorbic acid clock reaction was investigated as a function of temperature and pressure using stopped-flow techniques. Kinetic results were obtained for the uncatalyzed as well as for the Mo(VI) and V(V) catalyzed reactions. While molybdenum catalyzes the BrO-I? reaction, vanadium catalyzes the direct oxidation of ascorbic acid by bromate ion. The corresponding rate laws and kinetic parameters are as follows. Uncatalyzed reaction: r2 = k2[BrO] [I?][H+]2, k2 = 38.6 ± 2.0 dm9 mol?3 s?1, ΔH? = 41.3 ± 4.2 kJmol?1, ΔS? = ?75.9 ± 11.4 Jmol?1 K?1, ΔV? = ?14.2 ± 2.9 cm3 mol?1. Molybdenum-catalyzed reaction: r2 = k2[BrO] [I?] [H+]2 + kMo[BrO] [I?] [ H+]2[M0(VI)], kMo = (2.9 ± 0.3)106 dm12 mol?4 s?1, ΔH? = 27.2 ± 2.5 kJmol?1, ΔS? = ?30.1 ± 4.5 Jmol?1K?1, ΔV? = 14.2 ± 2.1 cm3 mol?1. Vanadium-catalyzed reaction: r1 = kV[BrO] [V(V)], kV = 9.1 ± 0.6 dm3 mol?1 s?1, ΔH? = 61.4 ± 5.4 kJmol?1, ΔS? = ?20.7 ± 3.1 Jmol?1K?1, ΔV? = 5.2 ± 1.5 cm3 mol?1. On the basis of the results, mechanistic details of the BrO-I? reaction and the catalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid by BrO are elaborated. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The equilibrium constants of the reactions MBr2(s) + Al2Br6(sln) ? MAl2Br8(sln) M = Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd have been measured at 298 K in toluene. Ni: 0.017 ± 0.0024, Co: 0.54 ± 0.07, Zn: 1.5 ± 0.2, Mn: 2.1 ± 0, 7, Cr: 2.2 ± 1, Cd: 7 ± 5. They are compared with literature values of the equilibrium constants of analogous reactions in the gas phase MX2(s) + Al2X6(g) ? MAl2X8(g), X = Cl, Br. For CoAl2Br8(sln) the temperature dependence of the equilibrium constant yielded ΔfH = ?9.4 ± 1 kJ mol?1 and ΔfS = ?39.5 ± 3 J mol?1 K?1 while literature values for CoAl2Br8(g) are ΔfH = 42.4 ± 2 kJ mol?1 and ΔfS = 42.9 ± 2 J mol?1 K?1. The solubility of Al2Br6 in toluene as well as its enthalpy of dissolution have been measured in order to evaluate ΔH° and ΔS° of the solvation of Al2Br6(g) and CoAl2Br8(g) in toluene by a thermodynamic cycle. Solvation of Al2Br6(g): ΔH = ?72.7 ± 1 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?139.6 ± 4 J mol?1 K?1, solvation of CoAl2Br8(g): ΔH = ?124.5 ± 4kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?222 ± 9J mol?1 K?1. Thus, CoAl2Br8 interacts more strongly with the solvent toluene than Al2Br6 does.  相似文献

Water exchange on hexaaquavanadium (III) has been studied as a function of temperature (255 to 413 K) and pressure (up to 250 MPa, at several temperatures) by 17O-NMR spectroscopy at 8.13 and 27.11 MHz. The samples contained V3+ (0.30–1.53 m), H+ (0.19–2.25 m) and 17O-enriched (10–20%) H2O. The trifluoromethanesulfonate was used as counter-ion, and, contrary to the previously used chloride or bromide, CF3SO is shown to be non-coordinating. The following exchange parameters were obtained: k = (5.0 ± 0.3) · 102 s?1, ΔH* = (49.4 ± 0.8) kJ mol?1, ΔS* = ?(28 ± 2) JK?1 mol?1, ΔV* = ?(8.9 ± 0.4) cm3 mol?1 and Δβ* = ?(1.1 ± 0.3) · 10?2 cm3 mol?1 MPa?1. They are in accord with an associative interchange mechanism, Ia. These results for H2O exchange are discussed together with the available data for complex formation reactions on hexaaquavanadium(III). A semi-quantitative analysis of the bound H2O linewidth led to an estimation of the proportions of the different contributions to the relaxation mechanism in the coordinated site: the dipole-dipole interaction hardly contributes to the relaxation (less than 7%); the quadrupolar relaxation, and the scalar coupling mechanism are nearly equally efficient at low temperature (~ 273 K), but the latter becomes more important at higher temperature (75–85% contribution at 360 K).  相似文献

The oxidation of Na4Fe(CN)6 complex by S2O anion was found to follow an outer‐sphere electron transfer mechanism. We firstly carried out the reaction at pH=1. The specific rate constants of the reaction, kox, are (8.1±0.07)×10?2 and (4.3±0.1)×10?2 mol?1·L·s?1 at μ=1.0 mol·L?1 NaClO4, T=298 K for pH=1 (0.1 mol·L?1 HCl04) and 8, respectively. The activation parameters, obtained by measuring the rate constants of oxidation 283–303 K, were ΔH=(69.0±5.6) kJ·mol?1, ΔS=(?0.34±0.041)×102 J·mol?1·K?1 at pH=l and ΔH=(41.3±5.5) kJ·mol?1, ΔS=(?1.27±0.33)×102 J·mol?1·K?1 at pH=8, respectively. The cyclic voltammetry of Fe(CN) shows that the oxidation is a one‐electron reversible redox process with E1/2 values of 0.55 and 0.46 V vs. normal hydrogen electrode at μ=1.0 mol·L?1 LiClO4, for pH=1 and pH=8 (Tris). respectively. The kinetic results were discussed on the basis of Marcus theory.  相似文献

Cyclohexane and piperidine ring reversal in 1-(3-pentyloxyphenylcarbamoyloxy)-2-dialkylaminocyclohexanes was investigated by 13C NMR. An unusually low conformational energy ΔG = 0.59 kJ mol?1 and activation parameters ΔG218 = 43.8 ± 0.4 kJ mol?1, ΔH = 48.9 ± 2.5 kJ mol?1 and ΔS = 23 ± 9 J mol?1 K?1 were found for the diequatorial to diaxial transition of the cyclohexane ring in the trans-pyrrolidinyl derivative. In the trans-piperidinyl derivative, ΔG222 = 44.7 ± 0.5 KJ mol?1, ΔH = 55.7 ± 6.3 kJ mol?1 and ΔS = 51 ± 21 J mol?1 K?1 was found for the piperidine ring reversal from the non-equivalence of the α-carbons.  相似文献

The transverse relaxation rate of H2O in Al(H2O) has been measured as a function of temperature (255 to 417 K) and pressure (up to 220 MPa) using the 17O-NMR line-broadening technique, in the presence of Mn(II) as a relaxation agent. At high temperatures the relaxation rate is governed by chemical exchange with bulk H2O, whereas at low temperatures quadrupolar relaxation is prevailing. Low-temperature fast-injection 17O-NMR was used to extend the accessible kinetic domain. The samples studied contained Al3+ (0.5 m), Mn2+ (0.2–0.5 m), H + (0.2–3.1 m) and 17O-enriched (20–40%) H2O. Non-coordinating perchlorate was used as counter ion. The following H2O exchange parameters were obtained: k = (1.29 ± 0.04) s−1, ΔH* = (84.7 ± 0.3) kJ mol−1, ΔS* = +(41.6 ± 0.9) J K −1 mol−1, and ΔV = +(5.7 ± 0.2) cm3 mol−1, indicating a dissociative interchange, Id, mechanism. These results of H2O exchange on Al(H2O) are discussed together with the available complex-formation rate data and permit also the assignment of Id mechanisms to these latter reactions.  相似文献

An analysis of the former works devoted to the reactions of I(III) in acidic nonbuffered solutions gives new thermodynamic and kinetic information. At low iodide concentrations, the rate law of the reaction IO + I? + 2H+ ? IO2H + IOH is k+B [IO][I?][H+]2k?B [IO2H][IOH] with k+B = 4.5 × 103 M?3s?1 and k?B = 240 M?1s?1 at 25°C and zero ionic strength. The rate law of the reaction IO2H + I? + H+ ? 2IOH is k+C [IO2H][I?][H+] – k?C [IOH]2 with k+C = 1.9 × 1010 M?2s?1 and k?C = 25 M?1s?1. These values lead to a Gibbs free energy of IO2H formation of ?95 kJ mol?1. The pKa of iodous acid should be about 6, leading to a Gibbs free energy of IO formation of about ?61 kJ mol?1. Estimations of the four rate constants at 50°C give, respectively, 1.2 × 104 M?3s?1, 590 M?1s?1, 2 × 109 M?2s?1, and 20 M?1 s?1. Mechanisms of these reactions involving the protonation IO2H + H+ ? IO2H and an explanation of the decrease of the last two rate constants when the temperature increases, are proposed. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 40: 647–652, 2008  相似文献

The haloacetyl ions [XCH2CO+], X = Cl, Br, I, have been produced by the dissociative ionization of selected precursor molecules and identified via their fragmentation characteristics. Their heats of formation, Δ, were 708 ± 8, 750 ± 25 and 784 ± 10 kJ mol?1, respectively, all appreciably above ΔH for [CH3CO+], 653 kJ mol?1. The effect of halogen substitution α to carbonyl is discussed for neutral molecules and their molecular ions.  相似文献

Multipulse pulsed laser polymerization coupled with size exclusion chromatography (MP‐PLP‐SEC) has been employed to study the depropagation kinetics of the sterically demanding 1,1‐disubstituted monomer di(4‐tert‐butylcyclohexyl) itaconate (DBCHI). The effective rate coefficient of propagation, k, was determined for a solution of monomer in anisole at concentrations, c, 0.72 and 0.88 mol L?1 in the temperature range 0 ≤ T ≤ 70 °C. The resulting Arrhenius plot (i.e., ln k vs. 1/RT) displayed a subtle curvature in the higher temperature regime and was analyzed in the linear part to yield the activation parameters of the forward reaction. In the temperature region where no depropagation was observed (0 ≤ T ≤ 50 °C), the following Arrhenius parameters for kp were obtained (DBCHI, Ep = 35.5 ± 1.2 kJ mol?1, ln Ap = 14.8 ± 0.5 L mol?1 s?1). In addition, the k data was analyzed in the depropagatation regime for DBCHI, resulting in estimates for the associated entropy (?ΔS = 150 J mol?1 K?1) of polymerization. With decreasing monomer concentration and increasing temperature, it is increasingly more difficult to obtain well structured molecular weight distributions. The Mark Houwink Kuhn Sakurada (MHKS) parameters for di‐n‐butyl itaconate (DBI) and DBCHI were determined using a triple detection GPC system incorporating online viscometry and multi‐angle laser light scattering in THF at 40 °C. The MHKS for poly‐DBI and poly‐DBCHI in the molecular weight range 35–256 kDa and 36.5–250 kDa, respectively, were determined to be KDBI = 24.9 (103 mL g?1), αDBI = 0.58, KDBCHI = 12.8 (103 mL g?1), and αDBCHI = 0.63. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The thermal unimolecular decomposition of hex-1-ene-3-yne (HEY) has been investigated over the temperature range 949–1230 K using the technique of very low-pressure pyrolysis (VLPP). One reaction pathway is the expected C5? C6 bond fission to form the resonance-stabilized 3-ethenylpropargyl radical. There is a concurrent process producing molecular hydrogen which probably occurs via the intermediate formation of hexatrienes and cyclohexa-1,3-diene. RRKM calculations yield the extrapolated high-pressure rate parameters at 1100 K given by the expressions 1016.0±0.3 exp(?300.4 ± 12.6 kJ mol?1/RT) s?1 for bond fission and 1013.2+0.4 exp(?247.7 ± 8.4 kJ mol?1/RT) for the overall formation of hydrogen. The A factors were assigned from the results of previous studies of related alkynes, alkenes, and alkadienes. The activation energy for the bond fission reaction leads to ΔH [H2CCHCC?H2] = 391.9, DH [H2CCHCCCH2? H] = 363.3, and a resonance stabilization energy of 56.9 ± 14.0 kJ mol?1 for the 3-ethenylpropargyl radical, based on a value of 420.2 kJ mol?1 for the primary C? H bond dissociation energy in alkanes. Comparison with the revised value of 46.6 kJ mol?1 for the resonance energy of the unsubstituted propargyl radical indicates that the ethenyl substituent (CH2?CH) on the terminal carbon atom has only a small effect on the propargyl resonance energy. © John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The enthalpy of formation of tris(methylidene)-cyclopropane (“[3]radialene”, 1 ) has been determined as ΔH = 396 ± 12 kJ mol?1 from three fragmentation reactions of its molecular ion 1 + formed from 1 by photoionisation using synchrotron radiation. Comparative electron impact measurements using conventional mass spectrometry were also performed. A treatment of the latter data is described which leads to satisfactory agreement with the photoionization data. The experimental value of ΔH( 1 ) is compared with various theoretical estimates. The strain energy of 1 is calculated to be 226.3 kJ mol?1. Linear extrapolation of this quantity from the increase of strain in passing from cyclopropane to methylidenecyclopropane yields 282.4 kJ mol?1. The discrepancy between these values, already predicted by Dewar and Baird ten years ago from theoretical calculations, is discussed on the basis of maximum overlap considerations. The enthalpy of formation of bis(methylidene)cyclopropane is predicted to be ΔH= 309 kJ mol?1.  相似文献

The effect of temperature on the dimethylformamide exchange on Mn(DMF) and Fe(DMF) has been studied by 13C- and 17O-NMR, respectively, yielding the following kinetic parameters: k298 equals; (2.2±0.2). 106 S?1, ΔH = 34.6 ± 1.3 kJ mol?1, ΔS = ?7.4 ± 4.8 J K?1mol?1 for Mn2+ and K298 = (9.7 ± 0.2).105 S?1, Delta;H = 43.0 ± 0.9 kJ mol?1, ΔS = + 13.8 ± 2.8 J K?1mol?1 for Fe2+. The volumes of activation, ΔV in cm3mol?1, derived from high-pressure NMR on these metal ions, together with the previously published activation volumes for Co2+ and Ni2+ (+2.4 ± 0.2 (Mn2+), +8.5 ± 0.4 (Fe2+) +9.2 ± 0.3 (Co2+), + 9.1 ± 0.3 (Ni2+)) give evidence for a dissociative activation mode for DMF exchange on these high-spin first-row transition-metal divalent ions. The small positive ΔV value observed for DMF exchange on Mn2+ seems to indicate that a mechanistic changeover also occurs along the series, (probably from Id to D), as for the other solvents previously studied (Ia to Id, for H2O, MeOH, MeCN). This changeover is shifted to the earlier elements of the series, due to more pronounced steric crowding for dimethylformamide hexasolvates.  相似文献

The Unimolecular mass spectrometric fragmentations of the molecular ions of 1,3-diphenylpropane, 1-(7-cycloheptatrienyl)-2-phenylethane and the 1-phenyl-2-tolylethanes and their [d5]phenyl analogues have been investigated by metastable ion techniques and measurements of ionization and appearance energies. By comparing the formation of [C7H7]+, [C7H8]+?, [C8H8]+? and [C8H9]+ it is shown that the molecular ions of the four diaryl isomers do not undergo ring expansion reactions of the aromatic nuclei prior to these fragmentations. Conversely, the molecular ions of the cycloheptatrienyl isomer suffer in part a contraction of the 7-membered ring. From these results and from the measured ionization and appearance energies lower limits to the activation energies of these skeletal isomerizations have been estimated yielding E > 33±5 kcal mol?1 formonoalkylbenzene, E > 20 2±5 kc mol?1 for 7-alkylcycloheptatriene and E > 40±5 kcal mol?1 for dialkylvbenzene positive radical ions. Upper limits can be deduced from literature evidence yielding E < 45 kcal mol?1 for monoalkylbenzene and E < 53 kcal 4mol?1 for dialkylbenzene positive radical ions. The activation energy thus estimated for monoalkylbenzene is in excellent agreement with the recently calculated value(s) for the toluene ion.  相似文献

The kinetics of O2-uptake of five-coordinated Co2+/tren complexes (tren = 2,2′, 2″-tris(2-aminoethyl)amine) have been studied extensively. The kinetics of formation of (tren)Co(O2, OH)Co(tren)3+ exhibits two steps. The rate law of O2-addition, the first step, was of the form: rate = (k[H+] + kKa)/([H+] + Ka) [Co(tren)2+][O2]. Second-order rate constants k = 220 ± 19 M ?1s?1 and k = 1.8 ± .035 · 103M ?1s?1 agreed well from O2-uptake and (stopped-flow) spectrophotometric measurements. The protonation constant of the hydroxo complex obtained by equlibrium measurements (spectrophotometric and by pH-titration) in anaerobic conditions (pKa = 10.03) agreed well with that derived from kinetic data (p Ka = 9.93); k and k are about a factor 100 smaller than those for the pseudooctahedral Co(trien) (H2O). This and the fact that several other Co(II) complexes with five-coordinated geometry do not exhibit oxygen affinity led to the proposal that the oxygenation mechanism for Co2+/tren complexes involves fast preequilibria between Co(tren) (H2O)2+ and Co(tren) (H2O) and only the latter is assumed to be reactive. The enhanced rate at high pH is explained by rate determining H2O-exchange in the O2-addition step and the ability of coordinated OH? to labilize the neighbouring H2O. This mechanism is furthermore supported by the formation of one kinetically preferred isomer of the peroxo-bridged dicobalt(III) complex (O2 cis to the tertiary N-atom) and the large negative activation entropy (?30 eu). The second step is the intramolecular bridging reaction: is independent of [Co(tren)2+] and [O2] but exhibits a pH-dependence of the form k3 = k3[H + ]/(Ka + [H+]); k?3 ( = 5 · 10?5 s?1) was determined independently and from the two rate constants the equilibrium constant was calculated as ≈ 105. The ligand combination as in Co(tren)2+ was shown to provide an excellent balance to form a reversible oxygen carrier; possible reasons for this are discussed.  相似文献

The very low pressure reactor (VLPR) technique has been used to measure the bimolecular rate constant of the title reaction at 300 K. The rate constant is given by log k1 (1/mol s) = (11.6 ± 0.4) ? (5.9 ± 0.6)/θ the equilibrium constant has also been measured at the same temperature and is given by K1 = (5.6 ± 1) × 10?3 and hence log k?1 (1/mol s) = 9.5 ± 0.1. The results show that the reaction Br + t? C4H9 → HBr + i? C4H8 is unimportant under the present experimental conditions. Assigning the entropy of t-butyl radical to be 74 ± 2 eu which is in the possible range, the value of K1 gives ΔH (t-butyl) = 9.1 ± 0.6 kcal/mol?1. This yields for the bond dissociation, DH° (t-butyl-H) = 93.4 ± 0.6 kcal/mol. Both of these values are found to be in good agreement with recent VLPP studies.  相似文献
