We use particular fuzzy relation equations for compression/decompression of colour images in the RGB and YUV spaces, by comparing the results of the reconstructed images obtained in both cases. Our tests are made over well known images of 256×256 pixels (8 bits per pixel in each band) extracted from Corel Gallery. After the decomposition of each image in the three bands of the RGB and YUV colour spaces, the compression is performed using fuzzy relation equations of “min - →t” type, where “t” is the Lukasiewicz t-norm and “→t” is its residuum. Any image is subdivided in blocks and each block is compressed by optimizing a parameter inserted in the Gaussian membership functions of the fuzzy sets, used as coders in the fuzzy equations. The decompression process is realized via a fuzzy relation equation of max-t type. In both RGB and YUV spaces we evaluate and compare the root means square error (RMSE) and the consequentpeak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) on the decompressed images with respect to the original image under several compression rates.  相似文献

Oscillations of first-order neutral delay differential equations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Consider the neutral delay differential equation (*) (d/dt)[y(t) + py(t − τ)] + qy(t − σ) = 0, t t0, where τ, q, and σ are positive constants, while p ε (−∞, −1) (0, + ∞). (For the case p ε [−1, 0] see Ladas and Sficas, Oscillations of neutral delay differential equations (to appear)). The following results are then proved. Theorem 1. Assume p < − 1. Then every nonoscillatory solution y(t) of Eq. (*) tends to ± ∞ as t → ∞. Theorem 2. Assume p < − 1, τ > σ, and q(σ − τ)/(1 + p) > (1/e). Then every solution of Eq. (*) oscillates. Theorems 3. Assume p > 0. Then every nonoscillatory solution y(t) of Eq. (*) tends to zero as t → ∞. Theorem 4. Assume p > 0. Then a necessary condition for all solutions of Eq. (*) to oscillate is that σ > τ. Theorem 5. Assume p > 0, σ > τ, andq(σ − τ)/(1 + p) > (1/e). Then every solution of Eq. (*) oscillates. Extensions of these results to equations with variable coefficients are also obtained.  相似文献

Let z(t) Rn be a generalized Poisson process with parameter λ and let A: RnRn be a linear operator. The conditions of existence and limiting properties as λ → ∞ or as λ → 0 of the stationary distribution of the process x(t) Rn which satisfies the equation dx(t) = Ax(t)dt + dz(t) are investigated.  相似文献

Ann-dimensional random vector is said to have anα-symmetric distribution,α>0, if its characteristic function is of the form((|u1|α+…+|un|α)1/α). We study the classesΦn(α) of all admissible functions: [0, ∞)→ . It is known that members ofΦn(2) andΦn(1) are scale mixtures of certain primitivesΩnandωn, respectively, and we show thatωnis obtained fromΩ2n−1byn−1 successive integrations. Consequently, curious relations between 1- and 2- (or spherically) symmetric distributions arise. An analogue of Askey's criterion gives a partial solution to a question of D. St. P. Richards: If(0)=1,is continuous, limt→∞ (t)=0, and(2n−2)(t) is convex, thenΦn(1). The paper closes with various criteria for the unimodality of anα-symmetric distribution.  相似文献

Let f: be a continuous, 2π-periodic function and for each n ε let tn(f; ·) denote the trigonometric polynomial of degree n interpolating f in the points 2kπ/(2n + 1) (k = 0, ±1, …, ±n). It was shown by J. Marcinkiewicz that limn → ∞0¦f(θ) − tn(f θ)¦p dθ = 0 for every p > 0. We consider Lagrange interpolation of non-periodic functions by entire functions of exponential type τ > 0 in the points kπ/τ (k = 0, ± 1, ± 2, …) and obtain a result analogous to that of Marcinkiewicz.  相似文献

We consider the general reaction-diffusion system At = F(A) + ε DM 2A + εg(→x, A), 0 < ε 1, where the small term εg(→x, A) represents the effects of localized impurities. We assume that the system At = F(A) has a stable time-periodic solution. Then we construct stable target pattern solutions of the full system. For typical initial conditions we find that these target patterns will arise only if g(→x, A) 0. Finally, we determine how target patterns interact and show that higher frequency target patterns eventually engulf neighboring lower frequency target patterns.  相似文献

Continuity in G
For a discrete group G, we consider βG, the Stone– ech compactification of G, as a right topological semigroup, and G*GG as a subsemigroup of βG. We study the mappings λp* :G*G*and μ* :G*G*, the restrictions to G* of the mappings λpG→βG and μ :βG→βG, defined by the rules λp(q)=pq, μ(q)=qq. Under some assumptions, we prove that the continuity of λp* or μ* at some point of G* implies the existence of a P-point in ω*.  相似文献

The behavior of the posterior for a large observation is considered. Two basic situations are discussed; location vectors and natural parameters.Let X = (X1, X2, …, Xn) be an observation from a multivariate exponential distribution with that natural parameter Θ = (Θ1, Θ2, …, Θn). Let θx* be the posterior mode. Sufficient conditions are presented for the distribution of Θ − θx* given X = x to converge to a multivariate normal with mean vector 0 as |x| tends to infinity. These same conditions imply that E(Θ | X = x) − θx* converges to the zero vector as |x| tends to infinity. The posterior for an observation X = (X1, X2, …, Xn is considered for a location vector Θ = (Θ1, Θ2, …, Θn) as x gets large along a path, γ, in Rn. Sufficient conditions are given for the distribution of γ(t) − Θ given X = γ(t) to converge in law as t → ∞. Slightly stronger conditions ensure that γ(t) − E(Θ | X = γ(t)) converges to the mean of the limiting distribution. These basic results about the posterior mean are extended to cover other estimators. Loss functions which are convex functions of absolute error are considered. Let δ be a Bayes estimator for a loss function of this type. Generally, if the distribution of Θ − E(Θ | X = γ(t)) given X = γ(t) converges in law to a symmetric distribution as t → ∞, it is shown that δ(γ(t)) − E(Θ | X = γ(t)) → 0 as t → ∞.  相似文献

Denote by (t)=∑n1e−λnt, t>0, the spectral function related to the Dirichlet Laplacian for the typical cell of a standard Poisson–Voronoi tessellation in . We show that the expectation E(t), t>0, is a functional of the convex hull of a standard d-dimensional Brownian bridge. This enables us to study the asymptotic behaviour of E(t), when t→0+,+∞. In particular, we prove that the law of the first eigenvalue λ1 of satisfies the asymptotic relation lnP1t}−2dωdj(d−2)/2d·td/2 when t→0+, where ωd and j(d−2)/2 are respectively the Lebesgue measure of the unit ball in and the first zero of the Bessel function J(d−2)/2.  相似文献

We investigate the large-time behaviour of solutions to the nonlinear heat-conduction equation with absorption ut = Δ(uσ + 1) − uβ in Q = RN × (0, ∞) (E) with N 1, σ > 0 and critical absorption exponent β = σ + 1 + 2/N; the initial function u(x, 0) = 0 is assumed to be integrable, nonnegative and compactly supported. We prove that u converges as t → ∞ to a unique self-similar function which is a contracted version of one of the asymptotic profiles of the nonabsorptive problem ut = Δ(uσ + 1), the same for any initial data. The cornerstone of the proof is a result about ω-limits of (infinite-dimensional) asymptotical dynamical systems. Combining this result with an asymptotic evaluation of the mass function as well as typical PDE estimates gives the behaviour of (E) for large times.Similar unusual asymptotic behaviour is obtained for the equation ut = div(¦Du¦σ Du) − uβ with same conditions on σ and u(x, 0) and critical value for β = σ + 1 + (σ + 2)/N.  相似文献

We consider a GI/G/1 queue in which the service time distribution and/or the interarrival time distribution has a heavy tail, i.e., a tail behaviour like t −ν with 1 < ν ⩽ 2 , so that the mean is finite but the variance is infinite. We prove a heavy-traffic limit theorem for the distribution of the stationary actual waiting time W. If the tail of the service time distribution is heavier than that of the interarrival time distribution, and the traffic load a → 1, then W, multiplied by an appropriate ‘coefficient of contraction’ that is a function of a, converges in distribution to the Kovalenko distribution. If the tail of the interarrival time distribution is heavier than that of the service time distribution, and the traffic load a → 1, then W, multiplied by another appropriate ‘coefficient of contraction’ that is a function of a, converges in distribution to the negative exponential distribution. We show for the M/G/1 processor sharing queue that the service time distribution is regularly varying of index -ν, ν non-integer, iff the sojourn time distribution is regularly varying of index -ν. This result is derived from a new expression for the Laplace–Stieltjes transform of the sojourn time distribution. That expression also leads to other new properties for the sojourn time distribution. We show how the moments of the sojourn time can be calculated recursively and prove that the kth moment of the sojourn time is finite iff the kth moment of the service time is finite. In addition, we give a short proof of a heavy traffic theorem for the sojourn time distribution, prove a heavy traffic theorem for the moments of the sojourn time, and study the properties of the heavy traffic limiting sojourn time distribution when the service time distribution is regularly varying. Explicit formulas and multiterm expansions are provided for the case that the service time has a Pareto distribution. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The main objective of this article is to study the oscillatory behavior of the solutions of the following nonlinear functional differential equations (a(t)x'(t))' δ1p(t)x'(t) δ2q(t)f(x(g(t))) = 0,for 0 ≤ t0 ≤ t, where δ1 = ±1 and δ2 = ±1. The functions p,q,g : [t0, ∞) → R, f :R → R are continuous, a(t) > 0, p(t) ≥ 0,q(t) ≥ 0 for t ≥ t0, limt→∞ g(t) = ∞, and q is not identically zero on any subinterval of [t0, ∞). Moreover, the functions q(t),g(t), and a(t) are continuously differentiable.  相似文献

The main result of this paper characterizes generalizationsof Zolotarev polynomials as extremal functions in the Kolmogorov–Landauproblem

whereω(t) is a concave modulus of continuity,r, m: 1mr,are integers, andBB0(r, m, ω). We show that theextremal functionsZBhaver+1 points of alternance andthe full modulus of continuity ofZ(r)B: ω(Z(r)B; t)=ω(t) for allt[0, 1]. A T-space U of degree k is a (k + 1)-dimensional vector space over (the real line) of real-valued functions defined on a linearly ordered set, satisfying the condition: for every nonzero u ε U, Z(u), the number of distinct zeros of u and -(u), the number of alternations in sign of u(t) with increasing t, each do not exceed k. It is demonstrated that given a T-space U of degree k > 0 on an arbitrary linearly ordered set T, there is a subset T′ of the real line and a nonsingular linear map L:UC(T′), the set of continuous functions on T′, such that the following hold: L(U) is a T-space of degree k; for u ε U, Z(u) = Z(L(u)), S−(u) = S−(L(u); and for some order-preserving bijection Θ:TT′, u(t) = O if and only if L(u)(Θ(t) = 0. It is also shown that a T-space on a subset T can be extended to a T-space on the closure of T in ]inf T, sup T], provided that there are no “interval gaps” in T. Examples show that, in general, a T-space cannot be extended across an “interval gap” in its domain, and cannot be extended to both the infimum and supremum of its domain. Conditions for a T-space to be Markov, and to admit an adjoined function are derived.  相似文献

We study a large class of infinite variance time series that display long memory. They can be represented as linear processes (infinite order moving averages) with coefficients that decay slowly to zero and with innovations that are in the domain of attraction of a stable distribution with index 1 < α < 2 (stable fractional ARIMA is a particular example). Assume that the coefficients of the linear process depend on an unknown parameter vector β which is to be estimated from a series of length n. We show that a Whittle-type estimator βn for β is consistent (βn converges to the true value β0 in probability as n → ∞), and, under some additional conditions, we characterize the limiting distribution of the rescaled differences (n/logn)1/gan − β0).  相似文献

Let ga(t) and gb(t) be two positive, strictly convex and continuously differentiable functions on an interval (a, b) (−∞ a < b ∞), and let {Ln} be a sequence of linear positive operators, each with domain containing 1, t, ga(t), and gb(t). If Ln(ƒ; x) converges to ƒ(x) uniformly on a compact subset of (a, b) for the test functions ƒ(t) = 1, t, ga(t), gb(t), then so does every ƒ ε C(a, b) satisfying ƒ(t) = O(ga(t)) (ta+) and ƒ(t) = O(gb(t)) (tb). We estimate the convergence rate of Lnƒ in terms of the rates for the test functions and the moduli of continuity of ƒ and ƒ′.  相似文献

The main purpose of this article is to establish nearly optimal results concerning the rate of almost everywhere convergence of the Gauss–Weierstrass, Abel–Poisson, and Bochner–Riesz means of the one-dimensional Fourier integral. A typical result for these means is the following: If the function f belongs to the Besov spaceBsp, p, 1<p<∞, 0<s<1, thenTmtf (x)−f(x)=ox(ts) a.e. ast→0+.  相似文献
