In this paper, we present an approach to calculate the complex dielectric permittivity of a micro-heterogeneous medium composed of non-conductive solid inclusions embedded into the conductive liquid continuous host. To take into account the surface effects, we approximate the inclusion by a layered ellipsoid consisting of a dielectric core and an infinitesimally thin outer shell corresponding to an electrical double layer (EDL). To predict the effective complex dielectric permittivity of materials with a high concentration of inclusions, we have modified the Effective Field Method (EFM) for the layered ellipsoidal particles with complex electrical properties. We present the results of complex permittivity calculations for the composites with randomly and parallel oriented ellipsoidal inclusions. To analyze the influence of surface polarization, we have accomplished modeling in a wide frequency range for different existing physic-chemical models of double electrical layer. The results obtained show that the tensor of effective complex permittivity of a micro-heterogeneous medium with surface effects has complicate dependences on the component electrical properties, spatial material texture, and the inclusion shape (ellipsoid aspect ratio) and size. The dispersion of dielectric permittivity corresponds to the frequency dependence for individual inclusion of given size, and does not depend on the inclusion concentration.  相似文献

By using SO-FDTD method, radiation properties of microstrip patch antenna covered with an anisotropic dielectric layer and a plasma layer are investigated. Simulation results show that the resonant frequency of antenna covered with a plasma layer varies with different plasma parameters. It has been indicated that the frequency offset of antenna is as high as 120 MHz when plasma frequency changes from 1 GHz to 8 GHz. The effect on antenna covered with an anisotropic dielectric layer is analyzed, while altering the dielectric constant or thickness of dielectric layer. Finally, the peak gain of antenna in complex plasma environment is presented in detail.  相似文献

The dielectric dispersion of heterogeneous matrices containing dissimilar cylindrical inclusions is studied. Conditions for the dispersion in multicomponent media are found and explained from the physical standpoint. It is shown that the effective loss factor may have several maxima with their number depending on the number of dissimilar inclusions in the composite. Effective permittivity diagrams in the complex plane are constructed. For media with a low inclusion concentration, an approximate method for finding the frequency of the maxima is suggested.  相似文献

采用等离子体的分段线性电流密度卷积时域有限差分算法研究了横磁波入射时具有单一线缺陷的二维非磁化等离子体光子晶体的缺陷模特性. 从频域角度分析得到微分高斯脉冲的透射系数,并讨论该光子晶体的晶格常数、介质圆柱半径、周期常数、缺陷层参数和等离子体参数对缺陷模特性的影响. 结果表明,改变周期常数、缺陷层位置和等离子体碰撞频率不会改变缺陷模的频率,改变缺陷层介质圆柱的相对介电常数、半径和缺陷层到介质层的中心距离可以在不改变禁带宽度的前提下实现对缺陷模的调节,改变晶格常数、介质圆柱半径和等离子体频率能同时实现对禁带宽度和缺陷模的调节. 关键词: 等离子体 光子晶体 缺陷模 时域有限差分算法  相似文献

An analytic approach to the theory of the optical defect modes in photonic liquid crystals in the case of an active defect layer is developed. The analytic study is facilitated by the choice of the problem parameters related to the dielectric properties of the studied structures. The chosen models allow eliminating polarization mixing at the external surfaces of the studied structures. The dispersion equations determining the relation of the defect mode (DM) frequency to the dielectric characteristics of an isotropic, birefringent and absorbing (amplifying) defect layer and its thickness are obtained. Analytic expressions for the transmission and reflection coefficients of the defect mode structure (DMS) (photonic liquid crystal-active defect layer-photonic liquid crystal) are presented and analyzed. The effect of anomalously strong light absorption at the defect mode frequency for an absorbing defect layer is discussed. It is shown that in a distributed feed-back lasing at the DMS with an amplifying defect layer, adjusting the lasing frequency to the DM frequency results in a significant decrease in the lasing threshold and the threshold gain decreases as the defect layer thickness increases. It is found that, generally speaking, the layer birefringence and dielectric jumps at the interfaces of the defect layer and photonic liquid crystal reduce the DM lifetime in comparison with the DMS with an isotropic defect layer without dielectric jumps at the interfaces. Correspondingly, generally speaking, the effect of anomalously strong light absorption at the defect mode frequency and the decrease in the lasing threshold are not so pronounced as in the case of the DMS with an isotropic defect layer without dielectric jumps at the interfaces. The case of a DMS with a low defect layer birefringence and sufficiently large dielectric jumps are studied in detail. The options of effectively influencing the DM parameters by changing the defect layer dielectric properties, and the birefringence in particular, are discussed.  相似文献

The object of this study is a model of breakdown in a randomly nonhomogeneous dielectric with point-size inclusions uniformly distributed over the volume. Breakdown is assumed to occur along zigzag channels joining the nearest inclusions. Statistical parameters are determined to characterize the number of inclusions within separate breaking-down potential channels. The reduction in dielectric strength due to the presence of conducting inclusions is accounted for in the simplest possible terms. A comparison between theory and test data on the dielectric strength of a model system consisting of paraffin with metal powder indicates a satisfactory agreement.  相似文献

Tunable metamaterial operating in terahertz (THz) frequency range based on dielectric cubic particles with deposited conducting resonant strip was investigated. The frequency of the first magnetic type Mie resonance depends on the electric length of the strip. It can be changed under photoexcitation or applied voltage. 大气压介质阻挡放电(DBD)可以在常压下产生非平衡等离子体,已经成为热点研究领域.通过脉冲或交变电源激发放电,研究电源输出特性、电源与放电发生器负载间的匹配和外界条件对放电的影响对于理解放电现象和提高放电效率具有重要意义.本文采用Lissajous图形法,分别研究了驱动电压、气流速率等因素影响同轴DBD发生器介质层等效电容及负载幅频特性的规律.结果表明,气流速率和驱动电压等外界条件影响DBD发生器的负载特性:介质层等效电容随气流速率增大而减小,随驱动电压增大而增大;幅频特性曲线均表现出RLC回路谐振现象,谐振频率随气流速率增大而增大,随驱动电压增大而减小.通过对比发现,介质层等效电容随频率的变化曲线与幅频特性曲线具有一致的特征,介质层等效电容是影响电路谐振频率动态变化的主要因素.提出了一种有关介质层等效电容的形成机制.  相似文献

熔石英亚表面缺陷是光学材料低损伤阈值的主要因素之一.本文建立了熔石英亚表面三维球形杂质颗粒模型,采用三维时域有限差分方法对杂质附近的光场进行了数值模拟,分析了杂质的介电常数与尺寸对光强增强因子的影响,结果显示:介电常数小于熔石英的杂质,其光强增强因子不随尺寸、介电常数的改变而改变,均保持为4左右;当介电常数为6.0时,半径为1.5λ,2λ及2.5λ的杂质,相应的光强增强因子分别为50.1588,73.3904及102.9953,即增强因子随杂质尺寸的增大而增大;恰 关键词: 杂质颗粒 三维时域有限差分 数值计算 光强增强因子  相似文献

In this paper, the properties of the omnidirectional photonic band gap (OBG) realized by one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystals (PCs) with a staggered structure which is composed of plasma and isotropic dielectric layer have been theoretically studied by the transfer matrix method (TMM). From the numerical results, it has been shown that such OBG is insensitive to the incident angle and the polarization of electromagnetic wave (EM wave), and the frequency range and central frequency of OBG can be effectively controlled by adjusting the plasma frequency, the average thickness of plasma layer, the average thickness of dielectric layer and staggered parameters, respectively. The frequency range of OBG can be notably enlarged with increasing the plasma frequency, average thickness of plasma layer, respectively. Moreover, the bandwidth of OBG can be narrowed with increasing the average thickness of dielectric layer. Changing staggered parameters of dielectric and plasma layer means that the OBG can be tuned. It is shown that 1D plasma dielectric photonic crystals (PPCs) with such staggered structure have a superior feature in the enhancement of frequency range of OBG compared with the conventional 1D binary PPCs. This kind of OBG has potential applications in filters, microcavities, and fibers, etc.  相似文献

Two frequency selective surface (FSS) configurations with flat topped passband are presented in this paper.One configuration is single layer FSS with λ/4 thickness dielectric loaded on both sides, and the other is double layers FSS. Based on the modal matching method, the frequency response properties including angle effect and polarization effect of both FSS configurations are analyzed, and the plots of the frequency versus transmission coefficient are obtained for different incident angles and polarizations. It is shown that the structure with the single layer FSS embedded centrally in the λ/2 thickness dielectric has a wider flat top bandwidth of 6.8 GHz than that of the double layers FSS of 3 GHz. In addition, the fabrication of single layer is relatively easier than the double layers FSS.  相似文献

The acoustic properties of a periodic rigid frame porous layer with multiple irregularities in the rigid backing and embedded rigid circular inclusions are investigated theoretically and numerically. The theoretical representation of the sound field in the structure is obtained using a combination of multipole method that accounts for the periodic inclusions and multi-modal method that accounts for the multiple irregularities of the rigid backing. The theoretical model is validated against a finite element method. The predictions show that the acoustic response of this structure exhibits quasi-total, high absorption peaks at low frequencies which are below the frequency of the quarter-wavelength resonance typical for a flat homogeneous porous layer backed by a rigid plate. This result is explained by excitation of additional modes in the porous layer and by a complex interaction between various acoustic modes. These modes relate to the resonances associated with the presence of a profiled rigid backing and rigid inclusions in the porous layer.  相似文献

The first measurements of dielectric-permittivity and conductivity spectra of several samples of nano-porous silicon prepared by anodization of low-resistance monocrystalline silicon are performed at room temperature by means of subterahertz and IR spectroscopy in the frequency range 7–4000 cm?1. The obtained spectra are analyzed in terms of the effective-medium theory with a size-dependent dielectric-response function of nanoinclusions and average dielectric parameters of the surronding medium. It is found that the dielectric properties of the inclusions are dependent on nano-size effects such as charge-carrier scattering at the boundaries of the nanocrystallites and increase in the band-gap energy due to the quantum size effect. The geometric and dielectric characteristics of silicon nano-size inclusions are determined. We consider the mechanisms of variation in the wide-band dielectric permittivity and conductivity spectra of monocrystalline silicon during transformation of its structure from monocrystalline to nano-porous.  相似文献

The thickness dependence of the real and imaginary parts of the dynamical dielectric susceptibility is investigated phenomenologically for a multilayer structure consisting of alternating ferroelectric and paraelectric layers. It is shown that the frequency dependence of the linear dielectric response can be closely approximated by that of a damped harmonic oscillator, with the static susceptibility, relaxation time, and soft-mode frequency depending on the layer thickness and temperature. When the layer thickness and temperature are equal to their critical values corresponding to the onset of a size-driven ferroelectric phase transition, the static susceptibility and the relaxation time become anomalously large and then decrease with further increasing layer thickness. A spectrum of natural polarization oscillations is predicted to exist with thickness-dependent frequencies. This spectrum includes a soft-mode frequency which vanishes at the critical thickness and at the critical temperature. The frequency spectrum lies below the soft-mode frequency of a thick film (in which the gradient of polarization is negligible). The calculations are compared with experimentally measured dispersion of the dielectric response of a PbTiO3-Pb0.72La0.28TiO3 multilayer structure. The agreement between the theory and experiment is found to be good.  相似文献

A formula for the effective permittivity for two-dimensional particles embedded in a host matrix is derived and a method for its numerical evaluation is described. The method is applied to specific cases of circular, square, rectangular and triangular particles. Shapes are assumed for the inclusion particles. Data for obtaining the effective permittivity is provided for a wide range of filling fractions, geometries and dielectric contrasts between the particles and the matrix under the assumption of the quasi-static approximation, that is, the wavelength of the electric field is assumed to be much larger than the particle size. Metallic particles with complex and frequency-dependent dielectric constants are treated, as well as no-loss dielectric inclusions. Calculations are validated by comparing the results of the reflectivity obtained for a composite layer using the transfer-matrix method, assuming the layer to be an effective medium, to those using the finite-element method and accounting for the heterogeneous material. By using the Fourier components of dielectric tensor elements of cold collisionless degenerate plasmas, the dispersion relation of electromagnetic waves in a cylindrical metallic waveguide with a degenerate plasma column protected by an annular dielectric layer are obtained. The permissible frequency regions for slow and fast waves in E-mode (TM) are presented. Furthermore, the graph of cutoff frequency versus the radius of plasma column for the fast waves is investigated. In addition, the time growth rate for excitation of symmetric slow E-modes (TM) by a thin annular relativistic electron beam (TAREB) is studied. 太赫兹超材料吸波器作为一类重要的超材料功能器件,除了可以实现对入射太赫兹波的完美吸收外,还可以作为折射率传感器实现对周围环境信息变化的捕捉与监测.通常从优化表面金属谐振单元结构和改变介质层材料和形态两个方面出发,改善太赫兹超材料吸波器的传感特性.为深入研究中间介质层对太赫兹超材料吸波器传感特性的影响,本文基于金属开口谐振环阵列设计实现了具有连续介质层、非连续介质层和微腔结构的3款太赫兹超材料吸波器,并对其传感特性与传感机理进行了深入研究.结果表明,为了提高太赫兹超材料吸波器的折射率灵敏度、最大探测范围等传感特性,除了可以选用相对介电常数较小的材料作为中间介质层外,还可以改变中间介质层的形态,进而减小中间介质层对谐振场的束缚,增强谐振场与被测分析物之间的耦合.与传统的具有连续介质层的太赫兹超材料吸波器相比,具有非连续介质层和微腔结构的超材料吸波器具有更优越的传感特性,可应用于对待测分析物的高灵敏度、快速检测,在未来的传感领域具有更加广阔的应用前景.  相似文献

The method of integral equations, which is based on the Green function of periodically arranged sources, is used for analyzing periodic metamaterials (photonic crystals) in the form of the simplest metallic and dielectric inclusions into a rectangular cubic lattice in a dielectric medium (matrix). Dielectric inclusions in the form of parallelepipeds and cubes are considered, as well as similar metallic inclusions (perfectly conducting metal rods) and 1D nanosized structures with metallic layers. Metal inclusions are investigated in the case of ideal conduction and in the case of penetration of a field into the metal, which is simulated as an electron plasma. The results are applicable from microwave of optical frequencies.  相似文献

The dielectric behavior of polyvinylidene fluoride/nanoquasicrystalline Al–Cu–Fe composites has been investigated over a broad frequency range. High effective dielectric constant (3800) at 100 Hz is observed near the percolation threshold. The dielectric behavior has been explained on the basis of boundary layer capacitor effect, Maxwell Wagner Sillars interfacial polarization and percolation theory while the dielectric anomalies are attributed to process of fabrication leading to thick insulating layer between the filler particles forming a gap in effective tunneling range of two filler particles, inhibiting the probability of higher order tunneling. The mechanical/electronic properties of these composites will make them suitable for multifunctional applications.  相似文献
