根据N×N多模干涉耦合器的基本原理 ,确定了多模干涉耦合器的结构参数。通过分析多模干涉耦合器的输入光场与其映像间的相位关系 ,提出了模传输矩阵的分析方法 ,并用此方法分析了N×N普通干涉多模干涉耦合器、N×N相移器以及N×N普通干涉多模干涉马赫 曾德尔光开关 ,得到了它们的模场传输方程 ,分析了光开关在光场从任一输入端输入 ,从任一输出端输出时开关的驱动条件。用上面的方法分析了 4× 4光开关的结构及驱动条件  相似文献

Optically controlled two-way optical switches are useful for high-speed photonic switches and rapidly reconfigurable optical interconnection networks. A directional coupler forms such a switch because the field can be switched from one waveguide to the other by altering the optical length of the waveguide. Nonlinear materials are incorporated in the waveguide so that the optical path length may be altered by using an optical control beam to vary the intensity of light. A finite element method is described that enables the modelling of the non-linear dual waveguide structure for arbitrary waveguide shapes. Spurious modes are avoided in the transverse magnetic field method and non-linearity is handled by iteration and assuming an equivalent non-linear relative permittivity.  相似文献

The dynamical evolution and stability of bright dissipative holographic solitons in biased photorefractive materials in which the self-trapping beam obtains a gain from the pump beam via two-wave mixing has been investigated numerically. Results show that these solitons are stable relative to small perturbations. Adjusting some system parameters, such as the bias field and the angle between beams, can easily control the generation of such solitons. Potential applications in optical switches or repeaters are discussed.  相似文献

The characteristics of InGaAsP/InP total internal reflection optical switches were improved by adopting Oxygen ion implantation in forming electrical isolation, which can confine injected carriers successfully and obtain good perpendicular reflective 'wall” whose transparency is controlled by injected carriers. Operating at 1.3-μm wavelength, the extinction ratio at the reflected port of the optical switch is 18.5 dB at a low injection current of 26 mA and the off-state crosstalk is -18.8 dB.  相似文献

Semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is used for different successful frequency based switching operations. In this paper the authors describe the simulation study of the performances of SOA in various optical switches like frequency conversion, add-drop multiplexer and frequency encoded optical NOR gate, which is one the most important gates in logic family as it is known as one of the universal logic gates. Again, the controlled optical NOR logic operation with semiconductor optical amplifier is also proposed in this paper.  相似文献

This paper presents, in the form of a review, some of the results of our study addressing the advantages and disadvantages of the nonlinear effects in optical fibers for their use in high-speed, high capacity, all-optical telecommunication applications. Nonlinear effects that we cover include: self-phase modulation (SPM), cross-phase modulation (CPM), stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), and stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). We have found that nonlinear effects can play useful and important roles in enhancing the fiber performances and creating new functions by way of fiber lasers, amplifiers, switches, logic devices, demultiplexers, signal format conversion and wavelength conversion devices. But we also have found that they can play degenerative roles limiting the performances of optical fiber communication. Trade-off between the advantages and the disadvantages of the nonlinear effects should be carefully examined in order to utilize their effects to the fullest extent.  相似文献

从部分相干光的传输理论出发,研究了高斯-谢尔模型光束通过光阑像散透镜聚焦的光谱异变和光谱开关。研究表明,在考虑像散的情况下,聚焦场轴上也会出现光谱异变和光谱开关。光谱异变和光谱开关不仅与空间相关性、截断参量、菲涅耳数和源光谱谱宽有关,透镜像散对光谱异变和光谱开关也会产生影响。通过数值计算结果,重点对透镜像散对光谱移动和光谱开关的影响进行了分析。与无像散情况相比,像散会使出现光谱开关的临界位置发生变化,当像散较大时出现光谱开关的临界位置明显向几何焦面移动,特别是当像散增加到一定数值时,光谱开关会消失。  相似文献

为了能够同时检测多个开关的状态,提出了一种基于光反馈半导体激光器的多开关状态检测系统.该系统由半导体激光器、多开关传感网络和数据采集与处理单元组成.多开关传感网络包括多个反馈光路,每个光路由耦合器、光纤和强度反射式光开关构成.所有开关都闭合时,系统没有反馈,激光器输出连续光.当有开关被打开时,光反馈使系统工作在混沌状态.根据系统输出信号的自相关曲线中与各开关位置对应处的峰值是否大于预设阈值来判断开关的状态,通过编程令其它位置处的峰值为零来消除干扰峰.搭建了3个开关的实验系统,分别对不同开关状态下的系统进行检测,结果表明该系统可以准确检测单个或多个开关的状态.  相似文献

Multi-degree implementations of the reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer (ROADM) are analyzed in terms of in-band crosstalk performance with an emphasis on the reduction in the number of wavelength selective switches used in the module. It is shown experimentally that an 8-degree ROADM using the wavelength selective switches for channel adding and optical splitters for channel dropping performs closely to one that uses switches for both operations. A new modular architecture based on the wavelength selective switches is proposed for implementations applicable to large degree nodes. Performance analysis of this architecture indicates node scalability to 256 degree with crosstalk-induced power penalties below 0.5 dB.  相似文献

In this paper, the performance of a digital optical switch, operating at the infrared communications wavelength of 1550 nm and based on the thermo-optic effect in amorphous silicon, are investigated. We prove that the strong thermo-optic effect of amorphous silicon, combined with the possibility of realising micrometric integrated structures, allow the design of promising integrated switches. The device, designed for low-cost photonic applications, could be easily integrated in silicon optoelectronic circuits.  相似文献

从部分相干光的传输理论出发,研究了被光阑衍射扭曲高斯-谢尔模型光束远场的光谱变化规律。结果表明,扭曲高斯-谢尔模型光束在远场也会出现光谱移动和光谱开关效应。与衍射高斯-谢尔模型光束情况相比,光谱移动和光谱开关效应不仅与光束空间相关性、截断参量和源光谱谱宽有关,光束的扭曲因子也会对衍射扭曲高斯-谢尔模型光束远场的光谱移动和光谱开关效应产生影响。通过数值计算结果详细讨论了光束扭曲因子影响衍射扭曲高斯-谢尔模型远场光谱的规律。  相似文献

In this paper, we describe the design principles of serpentine springs with high reliability for the micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) optical switches with large mirror mass. The most often seen failure mode of the MEMS optical switches under reliability tests is the breaking of these springs, which provide the restoring force for the MEMS actuators. The breaking points are usually at the turning corner of the serpentine springs when the MEMS optical switches are under a high G shock test or a vibration test. In order to overcome the difficulties, we redesigned the corner shapes of the springs with careful consideration. We will discuss the theoretical analysis and simulation modeling for the corner shapes of serpentine springs. MEMS optical switches with redesigned serpentine springs are fabricated and tested to prove the proposed design. The results show that the MEMS optical switches with new serpentine springs can pass rigorous reliability tests.  相似文献

推导出多色高斯光束和高斯-谢尔模型光束通过杨氏实验双缝传输的谱强度公式.对完全空间相干光和部分空间相干光照明杨氏实验装置出现的光谱开关作了详细研究,并判断其是否属于奇点光学效应. 结果表明:多色场奇点光学效应的判据应当是光谱开关出现时的谱强度极小值Smin=0,而不是总光强极小值Imin=0. 当用多色高斯-谢尔模型光束照明杨氏实验装置时,在近场和远场产生的光谱开关都不属于奇点光学效应. 当用多色高斯光束照明杨氏实验装置时,只有远场产 关键词: 光谱开关 奇点光学效应 完全相干和部分相干 多色光场  相似文献

In this letter, a novel optical switch based on vanadium dioxide (VO2) thin film on substrates of silicon (100) has been fabricated. The vanadium dioxide thin films were deposited by reactive ion beam sputtering followed by a post-annealing. The testing result shows the insertion loss of the optical switches is about 1–2 dB, and the extinction ratio is up to 26 dB. The speed of the switches is as fast as 60 ns.  相似文献
