A host algebra of a topological group G is a C *-algebra whose representations are in one-to-one correspondence with certain continuous unitary representations of G. In this paper we present an approach to host algebras for infinite dimensional Lie groups which is based on complex involutive semigroups. Any locally bounded absolute value α on such a semigroup S leads in a natural way to a C *-algebra C *(S,α), and we describe a setting which permits us to conclude that this C *-algebra is a host algebra for a Lie group G. We further explain how to attach to any such host algebra an invariant weak-*-closed convex set in the dual of the Lie algebra of G enjoying certain nice convex geometric properties. If G is the additive group of a locally convex space, we describe all host algebras arising this way. The general non-commutative case is left for the future. To K.H. UniversalC*-algebrasC*(A) exist for certain topological *-algebras called algebras with aC*-enveloping algebra. A Frechet *-algebraA has aC*-enveloping algebra if and only if every operator representation ofA mapsA into bounded operators. This is proved by showing that every unbounded operator representation π, continuous in the uniform topology, of a topological *-algebraA, which is an inverse limit of Banach *-algebras, is a direct sum of bounded operator representations, thereby factoring through the enveloping pro-C*-algebraE(A) ofA. Given aC*-dynamical system (G,A,α), any topological *-algebraB containingC c (G,A) as a dense *-subalgebra and contained in the crossed productC*-algebraC*(G,A,α) satisfiesE(B) =C*(G,A,α). IfG = ℝ, ifB is an α-invariant dense Frechet *-subalgebra ofA such thatE(B) =A, and if the action α onB ism-tempered, smooth and by continuous *-automorphisms: then the smooth Schwartz crossed productS(ℝ,B,α) satisfiesE(S(ℝ,B,α)) =C*(ℝ,A,α). WhenG is a Lie group, theC -elementsC (A), the analytic elementsC ω(A) as well as the entire analytic elementsC є(A) carry natural topologies making them algebras with aC*-enveloping algebra. Given a non-unitalC*-algebraA, an inductive system of idealsI α is constructed satisfyingA =C*-ind limI α; and the locally convex inductive limit ind limI α is anm-convex algebra with theC*-enveloping algebraA and containing the Pedersen idealK a ofA. Given generatorsG with weakly Banach admissible relationsR, we construct universal topological *-algebraA(G, R) and show that it has aC*-enveloping algebra if and only if (G, R) isC*-admissible.  相似文献

 We study the local operator space structure of nuclear C * -algebras. It is shown that a C * -algebra is nuclear if and only if it is an 𝒪ℒ∞,λ space for some (and actually for every) λ>6. The 𝒪ℒ constant λ provides an interesting invariant
for nuclear C * -algebras. Indeed, if 𝒜 is a nuclear C * -algebra, then we have 1≤𝒪ℒ(𝒜)≤6, and if 𝒜 is a unital nuclear C * -algebra with , we show that 𝒜 must be stably finite. We also investigate the connection between the rigid 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ structure and the rigid complete order 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ structure on C * -algebras, where the latter structure has been studied by Blackadar and Kirchberg in their characterization of strong NF C * -algebras. Another main result of this paper is to show that these two local structrues are actually equivalent on unital nuclear C * -algebras. We obtain this by showing that if a unital (nuclear) C * -algebra is a rigid 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ space, then it is inner quasi-diagonal, and thus is a strong NF algebra. It is also shown that if a unital (nuclear) C * -algebra is an 𝒪ℒ∞,1+ space, then it is quasi-diagonal, and thus is an NF algebra. We create a method which allows an arbitrary group G with an infrainvariant system ℒ(G) of subgroups to be embedded in a group G* with an infrainvariant system ℒ(G*) of subgroups, so that G α*G ∈ ℒ(G) for every subgroup G α*G ∈ ℒ(G*) and each factor B/A of a jump of subgroups in ℒ(G*) is isomorphic to a factor of a jump in ℒ(G), or to any specified group H. Using this method, we state new results on right-ordered groups. In particular, it is proved that every Conrad right-ordered group is embedded with preservation of order in a Conrad right-ordered group of Hahn type (i.e., a right-ordered group whose factors of jumps of convex subgroups are order isomorphic to the additive group ℝ); every right-ordered Smirnov group is embedded in a right-ordered Smirnov group of Hahn type; a new proof is given for the Holland–McCleary theorem on embedding every linearly ordered group in a linearly ordered group of Hahn type.  相似文献

To obtain the representation (L, R) of Lie algebras over the ring Λ, we construct the lattice of subrepresentations ℒ(L, R). Relations between the algebras L and R and the lattice ℒ(L, R) are studied. It turns out that in some cases the isomorphism of the lattice ℒ(L, R) can be continued so as to obtain a wider sublattice ℒ(LλR) consisting of subalgebras of a semidirect product LλR. __________ Translated from Sovremennaya Matematika i Ee Prilozheniya (Contemporary Mathematics and Its Applications), Vol. 46, Algebra, 2007.  相似文献

Let г denote a connected valued Auslander-Reiten quiver, let ℒ(γ) denote the free abelian group generated by the vertex setγ 0 and let ℒ(Γ) be the universal cover ofг with fundamental groupG. It is proved that whenγ is a finite connected valued Auslander-Reiten quiver,(γ) is a Lie subalgebra of(г), and is just the “orbit” Lie algebra ℒ( )/G, where ℋ (г)1 is the degenerate Hall algebra ofг and ℒ( )/G is the “orbit” Lie algebra induced by .  相似文献

Summary Let Fn, n≧ 1, denote the sequence of generic filiform (connected, simply connected) Lie groups. Here we study, for each Fn, the infinite dimensional simple quotients of the group C*-algebra of (the most obvious) one of its discrete cocompact subgroups Dn. For Dn, the most attractive concrete faithful representations are given in terms of Anzai flows, in analogy with the representations of the discrete Heisenberg group H3 G3 on L2(T) that result from the irrational rotation flows on T; the representations of Dn generate infinite-dimensional simple quotients An of the group C*-algebra C*(Dn). For n>1, there are other infinite-dimensional simple quotients of C*(Dn) arising from non-faithful representations of Dn. Flows for these are determined, and they are also characterized and represented as matrix algebras over simple affine Furstenberg transformation group C*-algebras of the lower dimensional tori.  相似文献

LetG be a group that is given by a free presentationG=F/R, and letγ4 R denote the fourth term of the lower central series of R. We show that ifG has no elements of order 2, then the torsion subgroup of the free central extensionF/[γ4 R,F] can be identified with the homology groupR γ6(G, ℤ/2ℤ). This is a consequence of our main result which refers to the homology ofG with coefficients in Lie powers of relation modules.  相似文献

LetF be a commutative ring with 1, letA, be a primeF-algebra with Martindale extended centroidC and with central closureA c and letR be a noncentral Lie ideal of the algebraA generatingA. Further, letZ(R) be the center ofR, let be the factor Lie algebra and let δ: be a Lie derivation. Suppose that char(A) ≠ 2 andA does not satisfySt 14, the standard identity of degree 14. We show thatR ΩC =Z(R) and there exists a derivation of algebrasD:AA c such that for allxR. Our result solves an old problem of Herstein.  相似文献

The Frattini Subalgebra of Restricted Lie Superalgebras   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
In the present paper, we study the Frattini subalgebra of a restricted Lie superalgebra (L, [p]). We show first that if L = A1 + A2 +… +An, then Фp(L) = Фp(A1) +Фp(A2) +…+Фp(An), where each Ai is a p-ideal of L. We then obtain two results: F(L) = Ф(L) = J(L) = L if and only if L is nilpotent; Fp(L) and F(L) are nilpotent ideals of L if L is solvable. In addition, necessary and sufficient conditions are found for Фp-free restricted Lie superalgebras. Finally, we discuss the relationships of E-p-restricted Lie superalgebras and E-restricted Lie superalgebras.  相似文献

Let G be a simply connected semisimple complex Lie group and fix a maximal unipotent subgroup U- of G. Let q be an indeterminate and let B* denote the dual canonical basis (cf. [19]) of the quantized algebra Cq[U-] of regular functions on U-. Following [20], fix a ZN≧0-parametrization of this basis, where N = dim U-. In [2], A. Berenstein and A. Zelevinsky conjecture that two elements of B* q-commute if and only if they are multiplicative, i.e., their product is an element of B* up to a power of q. To any reduced decomposition w0 of the longest element of the Weyl group of g, we associate a subalgebra Aw0, called adapted algebra, of Cq[U-] such that (1) Aw0 is a q-polynomial algebra which equals Cq[U-] up to localization, (2) Aw0 is spanned by a subset of B*, (3) the Berenstein–Zelevinsky conjecture is true on Aw0. Then we test the conjecture when one element belongs to the q-center of Cq[U-].  相似文献

Every extended affine Lie algebra of type A 1 and nullity ν with extended affine root system R(A 1, S), where S is a semilattice in ℝ ν , can be constructed from a TKK Lie algebra T (J (S)) which is obtained from the Jordan algebra J (S) by the so-called Tits-Kantor-Koecher construction. In this article we consider the ℤ n -graded automorphism group of the TKK Lie algebra T (J (S)), where S is the “smallest” semilattice in Euclidean space ℝ n .  相似文献

Highest weight representations of a Lie algebra of Block type   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
For a field F of characteristic zero and an additive subgroup G of F, a Lie algebra B(G) of the Block type is defined with the basis {Lα,i, c|α∈G, -1≤i∈Z} and the relations [Lα,i,Lβ,j] = ((i 1)β- (j 1)α)Lα β,i j αδα,-βδi j,-2c,[c, Lα,i] = 0. Given a total order (?) on G compatible with its group structure, and anyα∈B(G)0*, a Verma B(G)-module M(A, (?)) is defined, and the irreducibility of M(A,(?)) is completely determined. Furthermore, it is proved that an irreducible highest weight B(Z )-module is quasifinite if and only if it is a proper quotient of a Verma module.  相似文献

LetG be a Lie group with Lie algebraL(G) and let Ω be a non-empty subset ofL(G). If Ω is interpreted as the set of controls, then the set of elements attainable from the identity for the system Ω is a subsemigroup ofG. A system Ω is called anon-overlapping control system if any element attainable for Ω is only attainable at one time. In this paper, we show that a compact convex generating nonoverlapping control systems on a connected Lie group must be contained inX+E for someXL(G)\E, where E is a subspace of codimension one containing the commutator, and the homomorphism from the attainable semigroup intoR + extends continuously to the whole group in the case of solvable Lie groups. This work is done under the support of TGRC-KOSEF.  相似文献

Given anm-tempered strongly continuous action α of ℝ by continuous*-automorphisms of a Frechet*-algebraA, it is shown that the enveloping ↡-C *-algebraE(S(ℝ, A, α)) of the smooth Schwartz crossed productS(ℝ,A , α) of the Frechet algebra A of C-elements ofA is isomorphic to the Σ-C *-crossed productC *(ℝ,E(A), α) of the enveloping Σ-C *-algebraE(A) ofA by the induced action. WhenA is a hermitianQ-algebra, one getsK-theory isomorphismRK *(S(ℝ, A, α)) =K *(C *(ℝ,E(A), α) for the representableK-theory of Frechet algebras. An application to the differential structure of aC *-algebra defined by densely defined differential seminorms is given.  相似文献

Given a C*-normed algebra A which is either a Banach *-algebra or a Frechet *-algebra, we study the algebras Ω A and Ωε A obtained by taking respectively the projective limit and the inductive limit of Banach *-algebras obtained by completing the universal graded differential algebra Ω*A of abstract non-commutative differential forms over A. Various quantized integrals on Ω A induced by a K-cycle on A are considered. The GNS-representation of Ω A defined by a d-dimensional non-commutative volume integral on a d +-summable K-cycle on A is realized as the representation induced by the left action of A on Ω*A. This supplements the representation A on the space of forms discussed by Connes (Ch. VI.1, Prop. 5, p. 550 of [C]).  相似文献

For any field 𝕂 and integer n ≥ 2, we consider the Leavitt algebra L 𝕂(n); for any integer d ≥ 1, we form the matrix ring S = M d (L 𝕂(n)). S is an associative algebra, but we view S as a Lie algebra using the bracket [a, b] = ab ? ba for a, b ∈ S. We denote this Lie algebra as S ?, and consider its Lie subalgebra [S ?, S ?]. In our main result, we show that [S ?, S ?] is a simple Lie algebra if and only if char(𝕂) divides n ? 1 and char(𝕂) does not divide d. In particular, when d = 1, we get that [L 𝕂(n)?, L 𝕂(n)?] is a simple Lie algebra if and only if char(𝕂) divides n ? 1.  相似文献

Let (G, I, N, S) be an affine topological Tits system, and let Γ be a torsion-free cocompact lattice in G. This article studies the coinvariants H 0(Γ; C(Ω,Z)), where Ω is the Furstenberg boundary of G. It is shown that the class [1] of the identity function in H 0(Γ; C(Ω, Z)) has finite order, with explicit bounds for the order. A similar statement applies to the K 0 group of the boundary crossed product C *-algebra C(Ω)Γ. If the Tits system has type ? 2, exact computations are given, both for the crossed product algebra and for the reduced group C *-algebra.  相似文献

Let W n ( \mathbb K {\mathbb K} ) be the Lie algebra of derivations of the polynomial algebra \mathbb K {\mathbb K} [X] := \mathbb K {\mathbb K} [x 1,…,x n ]over an algebraically closed field \mathbb K {\mathbb K} of characteristic zero. A subalgebra L í Wn(\mathbbK) L \subseteq {W_n}(\mathbb{K}) is called polynomial if it is a submodule of the \mathbb K {\mathbb K} [X]-module W n ( \mathbb K {\mathbb K} ). We prove that the centralizer of every nonzero element in L is abelian, provided that L is of rank one. This fact allows one to classify finite-dimensional subalgebras in polynomial Lie algebras of rank one.  相似文献
