A recent investigation of the possibility of having a -symmetric periodic potential in an optical lattice stimulated the urge to generalize non-hermitian quantum mechanics beyond the case of commutative space. We thus study non-hermitian quantum systems in non-commutative space as well as a -symmetric deformation of this space. Specifically, a -symmetric harmonic oscillator together with an iC(x 1+x 2) interaction are discussed in this space, and solutions are obtained. We show that in the deformed non-commutative space the Hamiltonian may or may not possess real eigenvalues, depending on the choice of the non-commutative parameters. However, it is shown that in standard non-commutative space, the iC(x 1+x 2) interaction generates only real eigenvalues despite the fact that the Hamiltonian is not -symmetric. A complex interacting anisotropic oscillator system also is discussed.  相似文献

We calculate the masses and the pole residues of the heavy baryons Ω c 0(css) and Ω b (bss) with the QCD sum rules. The numerical values  GeV (or  GeV) and  GeV (or  GeV) are in good agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

Measured ratios of decay rates for , and are presented. These measurements are based on K± decays collected in a dedicated run in 2003 by the NA48/2 experiment at CERN. The results obtained are and . Using the PDG average for the K±→π±π0 normalisation mode, both values are found to be larger than the current values given by the particle data book and lead to a larger magnitude of the |Vus| CKM element than previously accepted. When combined with the latest particle data book value of |Vud|, the result is in agreement with unitarity of the CKM matrix. In addition, a new measured value of is compared to the semi-empirical predictions based on the latest form factor measurements. An erratum to this article can be found at  相似文献

We propose a new method for identifying and isolating events through semileptonic decays of the pair. Employing these decay dileptons to tag the jet in a specific kinematic region provides a clean signature of jets associated with heavy-quark production. The measurement, in both pp and heavy-ion collisions, is essential for addressing heavy-quark fragmentation in vacuum and in a dense medium. We present next-to-leading order calculations of production (leading order in production) in TeV pp collisions at the LHC and discuss the feasibility of the measurement in heavy-ion collisions at TeV.  相似文献

We calculate the important next-to-leading-order (NLO) contributions to the BKK * decays from the vertex corrections, the quark loops, and the magnetic penguins in the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. The pQCD predictions for the CP-averaged branching ratios are , , and Br(B 0K + K *−+K K *+)≈1.3×10−7, which agree well with both the experimental upper limits and the predictions based on the QCD factorization approach. Furthermore, the CP violating asymmetries of the considered decay modes are also evaluated. The NLO pQCD predictions for and decays are and .  相似文献

The ratio is measured by comparing the production rates of the π0 in the two decay channels. The analysis is based on approximately four million hadronic decays of the Z boson recorded by the ALEPH detector in the years 1991 to 1995. The value of is determined to be . A recalculation of the Particle Data Group world average gives rise to a slightly improved error, and moves the world average closer to the theoretical value.  相似文献

We investigate the viability of observing charged Higgs bosons () produced in association with bosons at the CERN large hadron collider, using the leptonic decay and hadronic decay, within different scenarios of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with both real and complex parameters. Performing a parton level study we show how the irreducible standard model background from jets can be controlled by applying appropriate cuts and find that the size of a possible signal depends on the cuts needed to suppress QCD backgrounds and misidentifications. In the standard maximal mixing scenario of the MSSM we find a viable signal for large and intermediate masses () when using softer cuts (,  50 GeV), whereas for harder cuts (, 100 GeV) we only find a viable signal for very large (). We have also investigated a special class of MSSM scenarios with large mass splittings among the heavy Higgs bosons where the cross-section can be resonantly enhanced by factors up to one hundred, with a strong dependence on the -violating phases. Even so we find that the signal after cuts remains small except for small masses () when using the softer cuts. Finally, in all the scenarios we have investigated we have only found small -asymmetries.  相似文献

We study the potential observation at the LHC of CP-violating effects in stop production and subsequent cascade decays, , , , within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We study T-odd asymmetries based on triple products between the different decay products. There may be a large CP asymmetry at the parton level, but there is a significant dilution at the hadronic level after integrating over the parton distribution functions. Consequently, even for scenarios where large CP intrinsic asymmetries are expected, the measurable asymmetry is rather small. High luminosity and precise measurements of masses, branching ratios and CP asymmetries may enable measurements of the CP-violating parameters in cascade decays at the LHC.  相似文献

We have calculated the two-loop strong interaction corrections to the chargino pole masses in the scheme in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with complex parameters. We have performed a detailed numerical analysis for a particular point in the parameter space and found corrections of a few tenths of a percent. We provide a computer program that calculates chargino and neutralino masses with complex parameters up to .  相似文献

We exhibit a finitely generated group whose rational homology is isomorphic to the rational stable homology of the mapping class group. It is defined as a mapping class group associated to a surface of infinite genus, and contains all the pure mapping class groups of compact surfaces of genus g with n boundary components, for any g ≥ 0 and n > 0. We construct a representation of into the restricted symplectic group of the real Hilbert space generated by the homology classes of non-separating circles on , which generalizes the classical symplectic representation of the mapping class groups. Moreover, we show that the first universal Chern class in is the pull-back of the Pressley-Segal class on the restricted linear group via the inclusion . L. For weakly non ergodic systems, the probability density function of a time average observable is where is the value of the observable when the system is in state j=1,…L. p j eq is the probability that a member of an ensemble of systems occupies state j in equilibrium. For a particle undergoing a fractional diffusion process in a binding force field, with thermal detailed balance conditions, p j eq is Boltzmann’s canonical probability. Within the unbiased sub-diffusive continuous time random walk model, the exponent 0<α<1 is the anomalous diffusion exponent 〈x 2〉∼t α found for free boundary conditions. When α→1 ergodic statistical mechanics is recovered . We briefly discuss possible physical applications in single particle experiments.  相似文献

Heavy-flavor semileptonic decays are expected to dominate the spectrum of non-photonic electrons produced from collisions at the energies of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The non-photonic electron yield is suppressed by approximately a factor of 5 in central Au + Au events at  GeV relative to p+p events with the same collision energy. Most theoretical models predict less non-photonic-electron suppression than is observed experimentally. We present a preliminary measurement of the yield of non-photonic electrons in Cu + Cu events at  GeV, as well as the nuclear modification factor.  相似文献

We perform a systematic study of the possible molecular states composed of a pair of heavy mesons such as , , in the framework of the meson exchange model. The exchanged mesons include the pseudoscalar, scalar and vector mesons. Through our investigation, we find the following results. (1) The structure X(3764) is not a molecular state. (2) There exists strong attraction in the range r<1 fm for the system with J=0,1. If future experiments confirm Z +(4051) as a loosely bound molecular state, its quantum number is probably J P =0+. Its partner state Φ **0 may be searched for in the π 0 χ c1 channel. (3) Vector meson exchange provides strong attraction in the channel together with pion exchange. A bound state solution may exist with a reasonable cutoff parameter Λ∼1.4 GeV. X(3872) may be accommodated as a molecular state dynamically although drawing a very definite conclusion needs further investigation. (4) The molecular state may exist.  相似文献

The energy evolution of average multiplicities and multiplicity fluctuations in jets produced in heavy-ion collisions is investigated from a toy QCD-inspired model. In this model, we use modified splitting functions accounting for medium-enhanced radiation of gluons by a fast parton which propagates through the quark–gluon plasma. The leading contribution of the standard production of soft hadrons is enhanced by a factor while next-to-leading order (NLO) corrections are suppressed by , where the parameter N s >1 accounts for the induced soft gluons in the medium. Our results for such global observables are cross-checked and compared with their limits in the vacuum.  相似文献

We present measurements of azimuthal correlations between photons (from π0 decay) and charged hadrons in d+Au collisions at  =200 GeV. We use di-hadron correlations to study parton fragmentation in d+Au collisions at RHIC. Specifically, the near-side and away-side peaks of the azimuthal angular difference distribution are used to measure the root-mean-squared (RMS) fragmentation transverse momentum and the mean intrinsic parton transverse momentum . The measurements with leading photons are compared to results using leading charged particles. PACS  25.75.-q  相似文献

We propose a mechanism for the spontaneous (gauge-invariant) reduction of noncommutative gauge theories down to SU(n). This can be achieved through the condensation of composite gauge invariant fields that involve half-infinite Wilson lines in the trace-U(1) noninvariant and SU(n) preserving direction. Based on this mechanism, we discuss an anomaly-free fully gauge invariant noncommutative standard model based on the minimal gauge group , previously proposed, and show how it can be consistently reduced to the standard model with the usual particle spectrum. Charge quantization for quarks and leptons naturally follows from the model.  相似文献

In this paper we present a model for the spontaneous breaking of parity with two Higgs doublets and two neutral Higgs singlets which are even and odd under -parity. The condition can be satisfied without introducing bidoublets, and it is induced by the breaking of -parity through the vacuum expectation value of the odd Higgs singlet. Examples of left–right symmetric and mirror fermions models in grand unified theories are presented. PACS 12.60.Cn; 14.80.Cp; 12.10.Dm  相似文献

First measurements of mesons production properties and their spin alignment in charged current (CC) and neutral current (NC) interactions are presented. The analysis of the full data sample of the NOMAD experiment is performed in different kinematic regions. For and mesons produced in CC interactions and decaying into we have found the following yields per event: and respectively, while for the and mesons produced in interactions the corresponding yields per event are: and . The results obtained for the parameter, and for and produced in CC interactions, are compared to theoretical predictions tuned on LEP measurements in annihilation at the pole. For mesons produced in interactions the measured parameter is . PACS 13.15.+g, 13.60.Le, 13.87.Fh, 13.88.+e, 14.40.Ev  相似文献

For a (co)monad T l on a category , an object X in , and a functor , there is a (co)simplex in . The aim of this paper is to find criteria for para-(co)cyclicity of Z *. Our construction is built on a distributive law of T l with a second (co)monad T r on , a natural transformation , and a morphism in . The (symmetrical) relations i and w need to satisfy are categorical versions of Kaygun’s axioms of a transposition map. Motivation comes from the observation that a (co)ring T over an algebra R determines a distributive law of two (co)monads and on the category of R-bimodules. The functor Π can be chosen such that is the cyclic R-module tensor product. A natural transformation is given by the flip map and a morphism is constructed whenever T is a (co)module algebra or coring of an R-bialgebroid. The notion of a stable anti-Yetter-Drinfel’d module over certain bialgebroids, the so-called  ×  R -Hopf algebras, is introduced. In the particular example when T is a module coring of a  ×  R -Hopf algebra and X is a stable anti-Yetter-Drinfel’d -module, the para-cyclic object Z * is shown to project to a cyclic structure on . For a -Galois extension , a stable anti-Yetter-Drinfel’d -module T S is constructed, such that the cyclic objects and are isomorphic. This extends a theorem by Jara and Ştefan for Hopf Galois extensions. As an application, we compute Hochschild and cyclic homologies of a groupoid with coefficients in a stable anti-Yetter-Drinfel’d module, by tracing it back to the group case. In particular, we obtain explicit expressions for (coinciding relative and ordinary) Hochschild and cyclic homologies of a groupoid. The latter extends results of Burghelea on cyclic homology of groups.  相似文献
