In this paper, we study the Ranking property for discrete cost sharing methods. In the two-agent model, we characterize the set of methods satisfying this axiom: the symmetry of the flow representing the method is necessary and sufficient for Ranking. In higher dimensions (n ≥ 3), we identify strong implications of the axiom; however, we prove that these conditions are not sufficient to characterize Ranking. For the so-called elementary fixed flows, we derive a necessary and sufficient condition.  相似文献

In this paper we study a quasilinear boundary value problem of Neumann type with discontinuous terms. In particular we consider a problem in which the p–Laplacian is involved. In order to prove the existence of solutions we replace this problem with a multivalued approximation of it and, using a variational approach for locally Lipschitz functionals, we prove two existence results for it.  相似文献

In this paper, we derive some necessary spectral conditions for the existence of graph homomorphisms in which we also consider some parameters related to the corresponding eigenspaces such as nodal domains. In this approach, we consider the combinatorial Laplacian and co-Laplacian as well as the adjacency matrix. Also, we present some applications in graph decompositions where we prove a general version of Fisher’s inequality for G-designs.  相似文献

In this article we get a result on propagation of geometric properties for solutions of the non-homogeneous incompressible Euler system in any dimension N ≥ 2. In particular, we investigate conservation of striated and conormal regularity, which generalize the 2-D structure of vortex patches. The results we get are only local in time, even for N = 2; however, we provide an explicit lower bound for the lifespan of the solution. In the case of physical dimension N = 2 or 3, we investigate also propagation of Hölder regularity in the interior of a bounded domain.  相似文献

In this paper we examine some properties of complete {;k; q};-arcs in projective planes of order q2. In particular, we derive a lower bound for k, and we exhibit a family of arcs having low values of k which exist in every such plane having a Baer subplane. In this paper, we are concerned with epiconvergent sequences of nonsmooth functions. From a general principle of upper set convergence of set-valued maps we derive stability results for various objects in generalized differentiability. In particular, we establish stability results for the Clarke generalized gradient of locally Lipschitz functions, respectively for the generalized Hessian of C 1,1 functions.   相似文献

In the first part we prove an extension of the Chern-Lashof inequality for noncompact immersed manifolds with finitely many ends. For this we give a lower bound of the total absolute curvature in terms of topological invariants of the manifold. In the second part we discuss tightness properties for such immersions. Finally, we give an upper bound for the substantial codimension.

In this paper we consider the eigenvalue problem for a fully nonlinear equation involving Hessian operators. In particular we study some properties of the first eigenvalue and of corresponding eigenfunctions. Using suitable symmetrization arguments, we prove a Faber–Krahn inequality for the first eigenvalue and a Payne–Rayner type inequality for eigenfunctions, which are well known for the p-laplacian operator and the Monge–Ampere operator.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a significant non-Riemannian quantity Ξ-curvature, which is defined by S-curvature. Firstly, we obtain the formula of Ξ-curvature for(α, β)-metrics. Based on it, we show that the Ξ-curvature vanishes for a class of(α, β)-metrics. In the end, we get the relation ofΞ-curvature for conformally related Finsler metrics, and classify conformally flat(α, β)-metrics with almost vanishing Ξ-curvature.  相似文献

In this paper we complete the solution of the electrostatic equilibrium problem for all classical weight functions. In particular we solve this problem for classical generalized Bessel, Jacobi on (0, +∞) and pseudo-Jacobi weights. In addition we present an elementary unified way of dealing with the electrostatic equilibrium problem, which depends on the weights satisfying the Pearson differential equation.  相似文献

In this part of the paper we deal with computational aspects of the bifurcation problem introduced in Part I, cf. [1]. It follows from Section 3 that the bifurcation behaviour is essentially determined by the expression KP(Ω) – ∧β, where β is some constant which was assumed to be nonzero, while P(Ω) is some 2π-periodic function which was implicitly defined in Section 2. In Section 4 we first derive easily computable expressions for P(Ω) and β from the definitions of Section 2. Secondly we offer a direct, although formal, derivation for these quantities. In Section 5 we briefly show how P(Ω). β can actually be computed by means of a high speed computer and discuss a number of examples. In Section 6 finally we give some asymptotic results for systems depending on an additional parameter.  相似文献

In this paper we consider some classes of difference equations, including the well-known Clark model, and study the stability of their solutions. In order to do that we introduce a property, namely semicontractivity, and study relations between ‘semi-contractive’ functions and sufficient conditions for the solution of the difference equation to be globally asymptotically stable. Moreover, we establish new sufficient conditions for the solution to be globally asymptotically stable, and we improve the ‘3/2 criteria’ type stability conditions.   相似文献

It is known that a compact space can fail to be sequentially compact. In this paper we consider the following problem: when does a space admit a sequentially compact T2 compactification? In the first section we develop a method to produce such compactifications, and we apply it in the second section to study the question using coverings.Moreover, we obtain solutions for locally compact T2 spaces, and for metrizable spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we select two tools of investigation of the classical metric regularity of set-valued mappings, namely the Ioffe criterion and the Ekeland Variational Principle, which we adapt to the study of the directional setting. In this way, we obtain in a unitary manner new necessary and/or sufficient conditions for directional metric regularity. As an application, we establish stability of this property at composition and sum of set-valued mappings. In this process, we introduce directional tangent cones and the associated generalized primal differentiation objects and concepts. Moreover, we underline several links between our main assertions by providing alternative proofs for several results.

It is well known that a Monotonicity Condition and a Coerciveness Condition principally lie in the basis of most results of the Theory of PDE's. The necessity of these important assumptions for the validity of a comparison principle and analogues of the Phragmen-Lindelöf theorem for solutions of quasilinear parabolic inequalities is discussed in the paper. In the first part of the work we introduce a new concept of monotonicity for nonlinear differential operators-nonlinear monotonicity concept-and on its basis we obtain new phenomena for solutions, subsolutions and supersolutions of the well-known quasilinear differential equations. In the second part we omit the current coerciveness condition and change it by a weaker one. In spite of this we obtain a series of new qualitative properties of solutions for wide classes of quasilinear parabolic inequalities. Most of these properties are also new for solutions of the well-known equations, which we consider in the paper.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the existence of solutions for impulsive first order ordinary differential inclusions which admitting nonconvex valued right hand side. We present two classes of results. In the first one, we rely on a fixed point theorem for contraction multivalued maps due to Covitz and Nadler, and for the second one, we use Schacfer's fixed point theorem combined with lower semi-continuous multivalued operators with decomposable values under weaker conditions.  相似文献

In this article, we develop the obstruction theory for lifting complexes, up to quasi-isomorphism, to derived categories of flat nilpotent deformations of abelian categories. As a particular case we also obtain the corresponding obstruction theory for lifting of objects in terms of Yoneda Ext-groups.
