An experimental investigation of the reaction of core pickup from 6He and 11Li two-neutronhalo nuclei is proposed. In such experiments, neutron–neutron correlations in a halo nucleus will be assessed on the basis of the energy of a neutron–neutron quasibound state. A detailed kinematical simulation of the reaction 6He + 2H → 6Li + (nn) →6 Li + n + n is performed. It is shown that the energy of the quasibound state in question can determined from the shape of the energy spectrum of neutrons originating from the breakup of this state. In the proposed exclusive experiment, a beam of 6He (11Li) nuclei with an energy of about 5 to 10 MeV per nucleon interacts with a deuterated-polyethylene target. This will permit detecting charged particles (6Li and 11Be) and a neutron. On the basis of determining the energy of the neutron–neutron quasibound state, it will become possible to estimate the effective attraction between the valence neutrons in the field of the third particle (core).  相似文献

The rotational deformations of two kinds of neutron stars are calculated by using Hartle‘s slow-rotation formulism. The results show that only the faster rotating neutron star gives an obvious deformation. For the slow rotating neutron star with a period larger than hundreds of millisecond, the rotating deformation is very weak.  相似文献

A time-of-flight polarized neutron imaging setup was realized by integrating an in situ pumped polarized 3He spin filter and energy dispersive neutron camera on the neutron technique development beamline(BL-20) of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS). Test experiments were performed with a solenoid with aluminum wire as a sample. These demonstrated that polarized radiography with a field of view in diameter 2.0 cm at different wavelengths can be obtained. The wavelength-dependent...  相似文献

We present the first attempt to extract \(|V_{cb}|\) from the \(\Lambda _b\rightarrow \Lambda _c^+\ell \bar{\nu }_\ell \) decay without relying on \(|V_{ub}|\) inputs from the B meson decays. Meanwhile, the hadronic \(\Lambda _b\rightarrow \Lambda _c M_{(c)}\) decays with \(M=(\pi ^-,K^-)\) and \(M_c=(D^-,D^-_s)\) measured with high precisions are involved in the extraction. Explicitly, we find that \(|V_{cb}|=(44.6\pm 3.2)\times 10^{-3}\), agreeing with the value of \((42.11\pm 0.74)\times 10^{-3}\) from the inclusive \(B\rightarrow X_c\ell \bar{\nu }_\ell \) decays. Furthermore, based on the most recent ratio of \(|V_{ub}|/|V_{cb}|\) from the exclusive modes, we obtain \(|V_{ub}|=(4.3\pm 0.4)\times 10^{-3}\), which is close to the value of \((4.49\pm 0.24)\times 10^{-3}\) from the inclusive \(B\rightarrow X_u\ell \bar{\nu }_\ell \) decays. We conclude that our determinations of \(|V_{cb}|\) and \(|V_{ub}|\) favor the corresponding inclusive extractions in the B decays.  相似文献

We have investigated the possibility of the presence of the deltas in neutron star matter and their effects on neutron stars. Δ-meson couplings of the theoretical predictions are only restricted in a region where the deltas can be present and even a first-order phase transition may take place, making the EOS sorer and the maximum mass of neutron stars smaller. The presence of the deltas leads to the rapid decrease of neutrino mean free paths.  相似文献

Within the spin-dependent Brueckner-Hartree-Fock (BHF) framework, the equation of state of the spinpolarized neutron matter has been investigated by adopting the realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction supplemented with a microscopic three-body force. The three-body force has been turn out to be crucial for reproducing the empirical saturation properties of nuclear matter in a non-relativistic microscopic approach[2] such as BHF. The related physical quantities such as spin-symmetry energy, magnetic susceptibility, have been extracted. The three-body force effects have been studied and discussed with a special attention. It is found that in the whole range of spin-polarization, the cnergy per particle of spin-polarized neutron matter fulfills a quadratic relation versus the spin-polarization parameter. The calculated spin-symmetry energies as a function of densityare shown in Fig.l, where the solid curve is obtained by using the AVis two-body force plus the three-body force and the dashed curve is the result by adopting the pure AVis two-body force.  相似文献

Many theoretical methods, such as the non-relativistic Brueckner approach, relativistic Brueckner approach, variational many body, the relativistic mean field theory, non-relativistic many body theory and the quarkmeson coupling model, have been used to explore the properties of neutron stars. In the present work, we shall study the properties of neutron stars within the framework of Hartree-Fock theory using the extended Skyrme effective interaction[1]. Many theoretical studies indicate that the relation between the single nucleon energy and the relative neutron excess satisfies the parabolic law approximately when δ and density p is not too high, the δ^4 and higher-order terms of δ are negligible, we shall show the higher-order terms of symmetry energy are important in studying neutron stars.  相似文献

We investigate the kinetic energy of expanding plasma of a solid target heated by a ultra-short and ultra-intense laser pulse and the efllciency of energy coupling between the ultra-intense laser pulse and the solid target, in order to increase the utilization ratio of laser energy and to raise the neutron generation farther. Some new ideas about improving the energy utilization by head-on collision~, between the expanding plasmas are proposed. The significance is the raise of generation of shorter duration neutron, of the order of picoseconds, which allows for an increase of energy resolution in time-of-flight experiments and also for the investigation of the dynamics of nuclear processes with high temporal resolution.  相似文献

The Skyrme energy density functional is applied to study the ground state properties of a series of finite nuclei. The charge rms radii, neutron rms radii, and the neutron skin thickness for some nuclei are calculated and compared with the experimental data. The constraint on the effective interactions, especially, the density dependence of the isospin-dependent. part of Skyrme interactions is extracted by the data of neutron skin thicknesses of ^208Pb and isotopes of Sn.  相似文献

Neutron activation analysis with -ray spectrometry was used to measure the concentrations of various elements in lipsticks of popular Indian and foreign brands. The aim of the present work was to study the possibility of existence of trace elements in samples of lipsticks (the ingredients of which are mostly organic in nature) and to see whether trace elements could distinguish lipsticks of different Indian and foreign brands from the forensic point of view apart from their inter-se differentiation. In the different samples of lipsticks that were analysed the following elements were detected: Au, Ba, Br, Ca, Cs, Fe, Na, Ru, Sb, Sc, Ta, Yt, Zn, Rb, and Se. It was found that inter-se differentiation of lipsticks was possible on the basis of concentrations of trace elements and their profile. Concentration of bromine in samples of lipsticks identified lipsticks of different Indian brands. Samples of lipsticks of Indian and foreign brands could be differentiated on the basis of concentrations of cesium, antimony and scandium which were found to be higher in foreign brands as compared to those in Indian brands.  相似文献

Considering the mass, parity and \(D^0 p\) decay mode, we tentatively assign the \(\Lambda _c(2940)\) as the \(P-\)wave states with one radial excitation. Then, via studying the strong decay behavior of the \(\Lambda _c(2940)\) within the \(^3P_0\) model, we obtain that the total decay widths of the \(\Lambda _{c1}(\frac{1}{2}^-,2P)\) and \(\Lambda _{c1}(\frac{3}{2}^-,2P)\) states are 16.27 and 25.39 MeV, respectively. Compared with the experimental total width \(27.7^{+8.2}_{-6.0}\pm 0.9^{+5.2}_{-10.4}~\mathrm {MeV}\) measured by LHCb Collaboration, both assignments are allowed, and the \(J^P=\frac{3}{2}^-\) assignment is more favorable. Other \(\lambda \)-mode \(\Sigma _c(2P)\) states are also investigated, which are most likely to be narrow states and have good potential to be observed in future experiments.  相似文献

We show that the Fu–Kane–Mele invariant of the 2d time-reversal invariant crystalline insulators is equal to the properly normalized Wess–Zumino action of the so-called sewing-matrix field defined on the Brillouin torus. Applied to 3d, the result permits a direct proof of the known relation between the strong Fu–Kane–Mele invariant and the Chern–Simons action of the non-Abelian Berry connection on the bundle of valence states.  相似文献

Phenomena of electron, neutron, atomic and molecular diffraction have been studied in many experiments, and these experiments are explained by many theoretical works. We study neutron single-slit diffraction with a quantum mechanical approach. It is found that the obvious diffraction patterns can be obtained when the single- slit width a is in the range of 3λ - 60λ. We also lind a new quantum effect of the thickness of single-slit which can make a large impact on the diffraction pattern. The new quantum effect predicted in our work can be tested by the neutron single-slit diffraction experiment.  相似文献
