 Starting from a locally convex metrisable topological space and from any asymptotic scale, we construct a generalized extension of this space. To those extensions, we associate Hausdorff topologies. We introduce the notion of a temperate map, with respect to a given asymptotic scale, between two locally convex metrisable semi-normed spaces. We show that such mappings extend in a canonical way to mappings between the respective generalized extensions. We give an application to nonlinear Dirichlet boundary value problems with singular data in the framework of generalized extensions. We present the geometric method for detecting periodic solutions of time periodic nonautonomous differential equations in interior of convex subset of euclidean space. The method is based on the Lefschetz fixed point theorem and the topological principle of Waewski. The aim of this article is to formalize definition of chaos (in terms of topological entropy) for dynamics of processes described by nonautonomous differential equations. A simple natural proof of van de Vel's selection theorem for topological convex structures is given. In this paper we give sufficient conditions for solvability of a singular initial problem formulated for Carathéodory systems of ordinary differential equations. The existence of solutions is proved by the supposition that corresponding auxiliary lower and upper singular problems have solutions. The proof technique uses a notion of a regular polyfacial subset which is developed for Carathéodory systems of ordinary differential equations and a modification of the topological method for such systems given by Palamides, Sficas and Staikos. An application concerning the existence of positive solutions for a special class of singular problems is given as well.  相似文献

In this paper we will introduce two other topologies, coarser than the so-called strong topology, on a class of Šerstnev probabilistic normed spaces, and obtain some important properties of these topologies. We will show that under the first topology, denoted by τ0, our probabilistic normed space is decomposable into the topological direct sum of a normable subspace and the subspace of probably null elements. Under the second topology, which is in fact the inductive limit topology of a family of locally convex topologies, the dual space becomes a locally convex topological vector space.  相似文献

Fréchet-Urysohn (briefly F-U) property for topological spaces is known to be highly non-multiplicative; for instance, the square of a compact F-U space is not in general Fréchet-Urysohn [P. Simon, A compact Fréchet space whose square is not Fréchet, Comment. Math. Univ. Carolin. 21 (1980) 749-753. [27]]. Van Douwen proved that the product of a metrizable space by a Fréchet-Urysohn space may not be (even) sequential. If the second factor is a topological group this behaviour improves significantly: we have obtained (Theorem 1.6(c)) that the product of a first countable space by a F-U topological group is a F-U space. We draw some important consequences by interacting this fact with Pontryagin duality theory. The main results are the following:
(1)
If the dual group of a metrizable Abelian group is F-U, then it must be metrizable and locally compact.
(2)
Leaning on (1) we point out a big class of hemicompact sequential non-Fréchet-Urysohn groups, namely: the dual groups of metrizable separable locally quasi-convex non-locally precompact groups. The members of this class are furthermore complete, strictly angelic and locally quasi-convex.
(3)
Similar results are also obtained in the framework of locally convex spaces.
Another class of sequential non-Fréchet-Urysohn complete topological Abelian groups very different from ours is given in [E.G. Zelenyuk, I.V. Protasov, Topologies of Abelian groups, Math. USSR Izv. 37 (2) (1991) 445-460. [32]].  相似文献

In this paper we apply the equivariant degree method to study Hopf bifurcations in a system of differential equations describing a symmetric predator-prey-mutualist model with diffusive migration between interacting communities. A topological classification (according to symmetry types), of symmetric Hopf bifurcation in configurations of populations with D8, D12, A4 and S4 symmetries, is presented with estimation on minimal number of bifurcating branches of periodic solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the problem when a Volterra space is Baire. It is shown that every stratifiable Volterra space is Baire. This answers affirmatively a question of Gruenhage and Lutzer in [G. Gruenhage, D. Lutzer, Baire and Volterra spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 128 (2000) 3115-3124]. Further, it is established that a locally convex topological vector space is Volterra if and only if it is Baire; and the weak topology of a topological vector space fails to be Baire if the dual of the space contains an infinite linearly independent pointwise bounded subset.  相似文献

We study convex programs that involve the minimization of a convex function over a convex subset of a topological vector space, subject to a finite number of linear inequalities. We develop the notion of the quasi relative interior of a convex set, an extension of the relative interior in finite dimensions. We use this idea in a constraint qualification for a fundamental Fenchel duality result, and then deduce duality results for these problems despite the almost invariable failure of the standard Slater condition. Part II of this work studies applications to more concrete models, whose dual problems are often finite-dimensional and computationally tractable.  相似文献

We study the controllability problem for a system governed by a semilinear differential inclusion in a Banach space not assuming that the semigroup generated by the linear part of inclusion is compact. Instead we suppose that the multivalued nonlinearity satisfies the regularity condition expressed in terms of the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness. It allows us to apply the topological degree theory for condensing operators and to obtain the controllability results for both upper Carathéodory and almost lower semicontinuous types of nonlinearity. As application we consider the controllability for a system governed by a perturbed wave equation.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the existence of solutions as well as the topological and geometric structure of solution sets for first-order impulsive differential inclusions in some Fréchet spaces. Both the initial and terminal problems are considered. Using ingredients from topology and homology, the topological structures of solution sets (closedness and compactness) as well as some geometric properties (contractibility, acyclicity, AR and Rδ) are investigated. Some of our existence results are obtained via the method of taking the inverse system limit on noncompact intervals.  相似文献
