The reactions π+ p→π+(K + K ? π+ π? p andppp(K + K ? π+ π?)p where the (K + K ? π+ π?) system is centrally produced have been studied at 85 GeV/c. 48% of the final state proceeds through single or double vector meson resonant production i.e.,K *0(890) (37%), ? (4%),ρ 0 (7%). Evidence is found for associatedK *0 (890) \(\bar K\) *o (890) production (6.4±1.1%) with a cross section ten times higher than that found for associated ? ? production in the same experiment.  相似文献

The isospin symmetry-breaking (ISB) decay f 1(1285) → π+π?π0 has been studied at the VES facility. The branching ratio is measured: $\frac{{BR\left( {f_1 \to \pi ^ + \pi ^ - \pi ^0 } \right)}} {{BR\left( {f_1 \to \eta \pi ^ + \pi ^ - } \right)}} = 0.86 \pm 0.16_{ - 0.20}^{ + 0.70} \%Low-energy resonances in 31P(p, α 28Si and 35Cl(p, α)32S were studied directly in order to gain a better understanding of reaction cycling in the Si-Ar region in novae. New resonance strengths at E c.m. = 600 and 622 keV in 31P(p, α)28Si were measured (ωγ p, α = (2.2#x00B1;0.7) × 10?2 eV and ωγ p, α = (0.99±0.08) eV, respectively) as well as the E c.m. = 610 keV resonance in 35Cl(p, α)32S [ωγ p, α = (1.2±0.2) × 10?2 eV], the lowest energy that any resonance in this reaction has been observed, directly or indirectly. The strengths of these resonances were found to be lower than previously determined, resulting in even weaker cycling in the Si-Ar region.  相似文献

In the diffraction dissociation of π? into μ+μ?π? on a Cu nucleus at 50 GeV/c, the cross section \(\sigma _{\mu ^ + \mu ^ - \pi ^ - } \) for the 1+S(ρ0π) wave was measured. The branching ratio of ρ0→μ+μ? could be calculated from the ratio of this and the corresponding cross sections in the diffraction dissociation of π? into π+π?π?. The obtained value \(BR_{\rho ^0 \to \mu ^ + \mu ^ - } = (4.6 \pm 0.2_{stat^ \pm } \pm 0.2_{syst} )10^{ - 5} \) is in good agreement with the branching ratio \(BR_{\rho ^0 \to e^ + e^ - } \) , as expected ifeμ universality holds.  相似文献

The width of the decay τ? → π?π0ντ was calculated in the extended NJL model. Contact interaction of W boson with a pion pair as well as the contribution of the ρ mesons in the ground and first radialexcited states are taken into account. The sum of the contact diagram and diagram with intermediate ρ meson in the ground state leads to the result which coincides with the result of the vector-dominance model. Our results are in satisfactory agreement with experimental data.  相似文献

We analyze the extraction of weak phases from CP-violation in B → π+π- decays. We propose to determine the unitarity triangle by combining the information on mixing-induced CP-violation in B → π+π-, S, with the precision observable sin2β obtained from the CP-asymmetry in B → ψKS. It is then possible to write down exact analytical expressions for and as simple functions of the observables S and sin2β and of the penguin parameters r and ϕ. As an application clean lower bounds on and can be derived as functions of S and sin2β, essentially without hadronic uncertainty. Computing r and ϕ within QCD factorization yields precise determinations of and since the dependence on r and ϕ is rather weak. It is emphasized that the sensitivity to the phase ϕ enters only at second order and is extremely small for moderate values of this phase, predicted in the heavy-quark limit. Transparent analytical formulas are further given and discussed for the parameter C of direct CP-violation in B → π+π-. Predictions and uncertainties for r and ϕ in QCD factorization are examined in detail. It is pointed out that a simultaneous expansion in 1/mb and 1/N leads to interesting simplifications. At first order infrared divergences are absent, while the most important effects are retained. Independent experimental tests of the factorization framework are briefly discussed. The cross section for the process e + e ? → π+π?π0π0 has been measured in an experiment with a spherical neutral detector, with the cross section at energies √s < 920 MeV having been measured for the first time. The model of vector dominance describes well the data obtained if the ρ, ρ′, and ρ″ resonances are taken into account. The probability of the decay ρ → π+π?π0π0 is B(ρ → π+π?π0π0) = (1.60 ± 0.74 ± 0.18) × 10?5. The upper limit for the decay ω → π+π?π0π0 has been improved by two orders of magnitude compared to previous measurements and is B(ω → π+π?π0π0) < 2 × 10?4 at a 90% confidence level.  相似文献

The observation potential of the decay B+ K+K+ with the ATLAS detector at LHC is described in this paper. In the Standard Model this decay mode is highly suppressed, while in models beyond the Standard Model it could be significantly enhanced. To improve the selection of the K+K+ final state, a charged hadron identification using Time-over-Threshold measurements in the ATLAS Transition Radiation Tracker was developed and used.  相似文献

The cross section of the process e + e ? → π+π? was measured in the spherical neutral detector experiment at the VEPP-2M collider in the energy region $400 < \sqrt s < 1000 MeV$ . This measurement was based on about 12.4 × 106 selected collinear events, which include 7.4 × 106 e + e ?e + e ?, 4.5 × 106 e + e ? → π+π?, and 0.5 × 106 e + e ? → μ+μ? selected events. The systematic uncertainty of cross section determination is 1.3%. The ρ-meson parameters were determined as m ρ = 774.9±0.4±0.5 MeV, Γ ρ = 146.5±0.8±1.5 MeV, and σ(ρ → π+π?) = 1220 ± 7 ± 16 nb and the parameters of the G-parity suppressed decay ω → π+π? as σ(ω → π+π?) = 29.9 ± 1.4 ± 1.0 nb and φρω = 113.5±1.3±1.7°.  相似文献

Using scattering data, the integrated cross-section for p¯p+, and unitarity, we derive upper bounds to the differential cross-section for p¯p+ . The isospin-violating decay f 1(1285) → π+π-π0 has been studied at the VES facility. This study is based on the statistics acquired in π- Be interactions at 27, 36.6 and 41 GeV/c in the diffractive reaction π- N → (f 1π-)N . The f 1(1285) → π+π-π0 decay is observed. The preliminary ratio of decay probabilities BR(f 1(1285) → π+π-π0) to BR(f 1(1285) → ηπ+π-). BR(η → γγ) is ∼ 2% . Original article based on material presented at HADRON 2007.  相似文献

TheK S 0 0 l + l andK L 0 0 l + l decays are considered within the framework of the Standard model in the one-photon exchange approximation, i.e.K S,L 0 0+ *0 +l + l . To evaluate the low-energy matrix elements of theK 0(¯K 0)0+ * transitions, the constituentquark-loop approximation, based on the extended Nambu-Jona-Lasino (NJL) model, is used. We relate the asymmetries in the charged pions energy in the decay into π+π?π0 ofK L and of the tagged neutral kaons. The former asymmetry is a given combination of $\Re (\varepsilon ), \Im (\varepsilon )$ , and üε'ü. Moreover, the non-violating CP asymmetry allows a test for theχ PT predictions within the Zel'dovich approach for the final state interaction.  相似文献

Data are presented for the exclusive reaction pp → pp π+ π? at \(\sqrt s = 62GeV\) with two leading protons at large Feynman-x and a centrally produced π+;π? system. In this kinematical configuration one expects a substantial contribution from Double Pomeron Exchange, which is a potential source of glueballs. The experiment was performed at the CERN ISR using the Split Field Magnet spectrometer. In the mass range between 1,000 and 1,700 MeV/c2 the invariant mass distribution for the central π+;π? system exhibits a very significant signal for thef 0(1270) and no other obvious resonant states.  相似文献

The e + e ? → ω, ρ → π0 e + e ? processes have been investigated in the experiments with Spherical Neutral Detector at the VEPP-2M e + e ? collider. The measurements provide the probability ?(ω → π0 e + e ?) = (0.761 ± 0.053 ± 0.064) × 10?3 of the ω → π0 e + e g- conversion decay and the upper limit ?(ρ → π0 e + e ?) < 1.2 × 10?5 (at 90% CL) for the ρ → π0 e + e ? decay. Fermilab data for the angular distribution measurements of the reaction p 0n are investigated and it is shown that a good fit with experiment is obtained by using a simple Regge pole model with phenomenological residue functions.
