This work demonstrates the feasibility of the generation of an RF direct-detection vector signal using optical in-phase/quadrature-phase (I/Q) upconversion. The advantage of the proposed transmitter is that no electrical mixer is needed to generate the RF signal. Therefore, I/Q data of RF signals are processed at baseband at the transmitter, which is independent of the carrier frequency of the generated RF signal. A 10 Gb/s 16 quadrature amplitude modulation signal is experimentally demonstrated. Following transmission over a 50 km single-mode fiber, the power penalty is negligible. Moreover, I/Q imbalance of the proposed transmitter is studied and compensated by digital signal processing, which is both numerically and experimentally verified.  相似文献

提出了应用于光纤无线通信系统中一种改进的双边带调制产生光毫米波方案。在中心站采用强度调制将射频信号调制到光载波上产生一个双边带信号,滤掉中心载波后,利用光交叉复用器把双边带信号的上下边带模分开,将数据速率为2.5Gbit/s的基带信号调制到下边带模后,再与未调信号耦合后产生光毫米波,然后通过单模光纤传输至基站,在基站经过光电转换后产生电毫米波信号。从理论上对该毫米波的色散特性进行了分析,发现毫米波的接收功率不会周期的衰减。同时通过实验研究表明,下行链路信号通过光纤能传输50km而不需要色散补偿,功率代价小于1dBm。因此,该方法产生的光毫米波能有效克服光纤色散引起的信号时延而导致的基带信号退化,适合于远距离传输。  相似文献

A scheme of format conversion from optical 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (16QAM) to quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) signal based on cascaded four-wave mixing (FWM) in semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) is proposed. Theoretical analysis and simulations of the format conversion scheme are conducted to validate the feasibility of the proposal. In this proposal, the phase conjugated of 16QAM signal is generated after the first FWM process in an SOA, and then the QPSK signal is converted due to the second non-degenerate FWM (ND-FWM) process in another SOA. The performance and the optimal design of the 10 Gbit/s format conversion system under various key parameters of SOAs are evaluated and discussed. Simulation results present useful to enable interconnection between backbone network and access network.  相似文献

<正>A novel approach to generate and distribute ultra-wideband(UWB) pulses in optical domain is investigated. In this proposed scheme,a dual-electrode Mach-Zehnder modulator(DE-MZM) is biased at its quadrature point so as to realize the linear response.Then the intensity of output optical field can be assumed to the subtraction of two input Gaussian pulses.If the input Gaussian pulses are with the same sharp parameters but different time delays,a quasi-monocycle-waveform UWB signal can be generated.If the input Gaussian pulses are with different amplitudes and full-width at half-maximum(FWHM),a quasi-doublet-waveform UWB signal can be generated.A transmission of the UWB signals through a 25-km single mode fiber is carried out successfully.The results in both temporal and frequency domains are also presented.  相似文献

A novel photonic-vector modulator architecture for the generation of 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (16 QAM) millimeter-wave carriers using dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulators is proposed. Experimental generation of 5 Gbits/s 4 amplitude shift-keying (4 ASK) and 10 Gbits/s 16 QAM modulated 42 GHz carriers is reported. The multilevel modulated millimeter-wave signals are demodulated using an electrical receiver and its error-vector magnitude (EVM) estimated from the measurements, obtaining EVMs of -21.04 and -18.33 dB for 4 ASK and 16 QAM modulation formats, respectively.  相似文献

A demultiplexing scheme based on semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA)and optical filter for optical time division multiplexing differential quadrature phase shift keying(OTDM-DQPSK)system is proposed and investigated experimentally.With only a common half baudrate electrical clock modulated 33%duty cycle return-to-zero(RZ-33)optical clock signal as pump,this scheme is cost-effective,energy-efficient,and integration-potential.A proof-of-concept experiment is carried out for the demultiplexing of a 2×40-GBd OTDM-DQPSK signal.Error-free performance is demonstrated,and the average power penalty for both channels is about 3 dB.  相似文献

A novel optical architecture based on the random iteration algorithm to decode iterated function system (IFS) codes is presented. The optical part of this system performs the affine transformations of IFS. The code values in the affine transformations of IFS are first translated into the modulation voltages of the electro-optic modulators (EOMS), with a specific probability. Then, the multiplication and addition operations can easily be performed. With the O/E and A/D converters, the light intensity is converted into an electrical signal to address a specific pixel at the display device. A fractal image is then progressively decoded pixel by pixel and superimposed on the display device. The computer simulation and some experimental results for the proposed architecture are provided for verification. The decoding speed is fast, the image quality is high, and the resolution of the generated fractals depends on the resolution of the display device itself.  相似文献

A novel scheme of photonic aided vector millimeter-wave(mm-wave)signal generation without a digital-to-analog converter(DAC)is proposed.Based on our scheme,a 20 Gb/s 4-ary quadrature amplitude modulation(4-QAM)mm-wave signal is generated without using a DAC.The experiment results demonstrate that the bit error rate(BER)of 20 Gb/s 4-QAM mmwave signal can reach below the hard-decision forward-error-correction threshold after a delivery over 1 m wireless distance.Because the DAC is not required,it can reduce the system cost.Besides,by using photonic technology,the system is easily integrated to create large-scale production and application in high-speed optical communication.  相似文献

An approach for photonic generation of a frequency-octupled phase-coded signal based on carrier-suppressed high-order double sideband modulation is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The key component of the scheme is an integrated dual-polarization quadrature phase shift keying modulator, which is used to achieve the carrier-suppressed high-order double sideband modulation. At the output of the modulator, two fourth-order optical sidebands are generated with the optical carrier suppressed. After that, a Sagnac loop incorporating a fiber Bragg grating and a phase modulator is employed to separate the two optical sidebands and phase modulate one sideband with a binary coding signal. The approach features large carrier frequency tuning range for the generated phase-coded signal from several megahertz to beyond the W-band. A proof-of-concept experiment is carried out. The 2 Gbit/s phase-coded signals with frequencies of 16.48, 21.92, and 29.76 GHz are generated.  相似文献

在对预编码、调制和编码过程进行改进的基础上,提出了一种利用一个双臂马赫-曾德尔铌酸锂调制器和一个电信号时延器产生可调占空比和消光比的光暗脉冲归零码二进制信号的新方案。实验证明这种信号能用传统的二进制强度调制-直接检测系统的接收机进行检测。实验得到了在调节电信号时延器时速率为2.5 Gbit/s的光暗脉冲归零码二进制信号的频谱变化规律,以及占空比分别为0.25,0.35,0.60和0.80时光暗脉冲归零码二进制信号的误码率和眼图。此外,利用该方案产生的光暗脉冲归零码二进制信号可以作为标记在光标记交换网络中得到应用。  相似文献

We propose and analyze an instantaneous frequency measurement system by using optical power monitoring technique with improved resolution. The primary component adopted in the proposal is a dual-polarization quadrature phase shift keying (DP-QPSK) modulator which is used to modulate the microwave signal that has a designed time delay and phase shifting. The generated optical signal is sent to polarization beam splitter (PBS) in DP-QPSK modulator. Owing to the complementary transmission nature of polarization interference introduced by PBS, the frequency information is converted into the optical power and the relationship between the amplitude comparison function (ACF) and microwave frequency to be measured is established. Thus, the frequency of the microwave signal can be easily measured through monitoring the optical powers of the two output ports of the PBS. Furthermore, by adjusting the direct current (DC) biases of the DP-QPSK modulator instead of changing the electrical delay, the measurement range and resolution can be switched. In this paper, the basic principle of the instantaneous frequency measurement system is derived in detail, and simulation has been performed to investigate the resolution, the measurement range, and the influence of imperfection devices. The proposed scheme is wavelength-independent and its measurement range is switchable, which can avoid the laser wavelength drifting problem and thus greatly increasing the system flexibility.  相似文献

We experimentally investigate a high-linearity analog photonic link based on polarization-modulation in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) intensity-demodulation. In the proposed system, a light wave with its polarization direction oriented at an angle of 45° with respect to the principal axis of the polarization modulator (PolM) is polarization modulated by a drive signal. In the receiver, the polarization-modulated signal is split into two paths using a 50:50 optical coupler (OC). In each path, a polarization beam splitter (PBS) is connected to the PolM via a polarization controller (PC) to realize the in-phase and quadrature signal, respectively. Thanks to the polarization-modulation to intensity-modulation conversion, the fluctuation of the optical phase noise has no impact on the coherent signals. In addition, the use of a single PolM allows the link avoids the matching requirements of dual modulator schemes. The linearization leads to suppression of the third-order intermodulation (IMD3) by more than 40 dB, compared to the quadrature signal. Experimental results show that the link gain is -11.5 dB, noise figure is 26.5 dB, and the third-order limited spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) is 124 dB in a 1 Hz bandwidth.  相似文献

A new optical security system is proposed using a shifted phase-encoded joint transform correlation (JTC) architecture. In the proposed technique, at first, the address code is fed into two channels where one channel is shifted by 180°. The output signals from both the channels are phase-masked and then added with the input image to be encrypted. The joint power spectrum (JPS) obtained from one channel is subtracted from the JPS of the other channel, and the modified JPS is inverse Fourier transformed to yield the encrypted image. For decryption, the received signal is Fourier transformed and multiplied by the phase mask and the address code, which is then inverse Fourier transformed to generate the output signal. The proposed technique does not require complex conjugate of the address code otherwise required in the classical double random phase encryption. Also the decryption result is much more enhanced when compared to the output generated by alternate JTC techniques. Computer simulation results verify that the encryption and decryption are very much secure and efficient in both noise-free and noisy conditions.  相似文献

利用低频光通信波段真空压缩态光场可实现基于光纤的量子精密测量.本文利用简并光学参量振荡器实验制备出1550 nm低频真空压缩态光场.在分析频段10—500 kHz范围内压缩态光场的压缩度均达3 dB.用实验制备的1550 nm真空压缩态光场填补光纤马赫-曾德尔干涉仪的真空通道,实现了量子增强型光纤马赫-曾德尔干涉仪,完成了突破标准量子极限的相位调制频率为500 kHz的低频信号测量.与光纤马赫-曾德尔干涉仪相比,测量信噪比提高了2 dB.  相似文献

An analytically exact method is proposed to extract the signal intensity and the noise variance simultaneously from noisy magnitude MR signals. This method relies on a fixed point formula of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a correction factor. The correction factor, which is a function of SNR, establishes a fundamental link between the variance of the magnitude MR signal and the variance of the underlying Gaussian noise in the two quadrature channels. A more general but very similar method is developed for parallel signal acquisitions with multiple receiver coils. In the context of MR imaging, the proposed method can be carried out on a pixel-by-pixel basis if the mean and the standard deviation of the magnitude signal are available.  相似文献

铯原子D1线的非经典光由于其波长接近于量子点的独特优势,在固态量子信息网络的发展中有着重要的应用前景.在之前的工作中,利用两镜连续简并光学参量振荡器中的参量下转换过程,制备出2.8 d B正交压缩真空态光场.然而,所产生光场的压缩度较低,对于对压缩光具有实用意义的可调谐性能也未做进一步探究.理论分析表明,光学参量振荡器后腔镜对信号光透射率的增加及内腔损耗的减小可以提高压缩度.因此,本文在该研究基础上,通过使用高光洁度腔镜及优化腔镜镀膜参数等方式对光学参量振荡器进行改良,降低了光学参量腔阈值,获得压缩度为3.3 d B的单模正交压缩真空光.当光学参量腔运转为参量反放大状态时,在系统稳定运行的情况下,制备的明亮压缩态光场能够连续调谐80 MHz,为其在量子信息网络中的应用奠定了良好的基础.  相似文献

We present a novel coherent transceiver for optical differential phase-shift keying/differential quadrature phase-shift keying (DPSK/DQPSK) signals based on heterodyne detection and electrical delay interferometer. A simulation framework is provided to predict a theoretical sensitivity level for the reported scheme. High sensitivity of -45.18 dBm is achieved for 2.5-Gb/s return-to-zero (RZ)-DPSK signal, and high sensitivities of -36.83 dBm (I tributary) and -35.90 dBm (Q tributary) are observed for 2.5-GBaud/s RZ-DQPSK signal in back-to-back configuration. Transmission for both signals over 100 km is also investigated. Experimental results are discussed and analyzed.  相似文献

针对低场磁共振成像系统,该文设计了一种紧凑灵活的信号接收方案,实现对多通道磁共振信号的高速采样与直接数字解调. 系统采用高速模数转换器(A/D)对磁共振信号直接采样;以单片数字下变频器(DDC)--AD6636, 完成4路采样信号的数字解调;以数字信号处理器(DSP)作为控制器,实现对AD6636的配置以及I/Q数据的读取. 信号采样频率可达100 MSPS,适用于1 T以下的系统. 实验证明该设计具有结构紧凑,采样速率高,配置方便快速,滤波器设计丰富灵活等特点,为磁共振成像谱仪的研制提供了一种高性能的信号接收方案.  相似文献

A new modulation scheme that improves the bandwidth efficiency of an optical access link is proposed in this paper. It is implemented using non-orthogonal frequency shift keying (FSK) and quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) simultaneously. We call the proposed technique non-orthogonal frequency quadrature amplitude modulation (NOFQAM). Especially, non-orthogonal FSK based on digital signal processing (DSP) is proposed for the first time. DSP-aided non-orthogonal FSK allows us to select RF carrier frequency irrespective of the channel bandwidth to allocate FSK symbols, unlike the existing orthogonal FSK. The non-orthogonality is implemented using a sequential correlation, where a received NOFQAM signal is correlated with only one RF carrier at a time by using DSP. After the sequential correlation is completed, both the FSK and the QAM symbols are recovered successfully and merged to generate the NOFQAM symbols. For experimental verification, a 20-km optical access link, which can transmit a 64-NOFQAM signal sampled at 10 Gsample/s, is implemented. We observed no increase in occupied channel bandwidth and a power penalty <0.5 dB compared to the 16-QAM scheme. A bit error rate lower than 10?11 was obtained for the frequency spacing considered herein, which corresponds to 3% of the used RF carrier (1.5 GHz) when there are 50 sampling points per 64-NOFQAM symbol.  相似文献

A quadrature digital receiver and associated signal estimation procedure are reported for L-band electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. The approach provides simultaneous acquisition and joint processing of multiple harmonics in both in-phase and out-of-phase channels. The digital receiver, based on a high-speed dual-channel analog-to-digital converter, allows direct digital down-conversion with heterodyne processing using digital capture of the microwave reference signal. Thus, the receiver avoids noise and nonlinearity associated with analog mixers. Also, the architecture allows for low-Q anti-alias filtering and does not require the sampling frequency to be time-locked to the microwave reference. A noise model applicable for arbitrary contributions of oscillator phase noise is presented, and a corresponding maximum-likelihood estimator of unknown parameters is also reported. The signal processing is applicable for Lorentzian lineshape under nonsaturating conditions. The estimation is carried out using a convergent iterative algorithm capable of jointly processing the in-phase and out-of-phase data in the presence of phase noise and unknown microwave phase. Cramér-Rao bound analysis and simulation results demonstrate a significant reduction in linewidth estimation error using quadrature detection, for both low and high values of phase noise. EPR spectroscopic data are also reported for illustration.  相似文献
