We provide a quantum benchmark for teleportation and storage of single-mode squeezed states with zero displacement and a completely unknown degree of squeezing along a given direction. For pure squeezed input states, a fidelity higher than 81.5% has to be attained in order to outperform any classical strategy based on an estimation of the unknown squeezing and repreparation of squeezed states. For squeezed thermal input states, we derive an upper and a lower bound on the classical average fidelity which tighten for moderate degree of mixedness. These results enable a critical discussion of recent experiments with squeezed light.  相似文献

We show that single copy distillation of squeezing from continuous variable non-Gaussian states is possible using linear optics and conditional homodyne detection. A specific non-Gaussian noise source, corresponding to a random linear displacement, is investigated experimentally. Conditioning the signal on a tap measurement, we observe probabilistic recovery of squeezing.  相似文献

We investigate the creation of squeezing via operations subject to noise and losses and ask for the optimal use of such devices when supplemented by noiseless passive operations. Both single and repeated uses of the device are optimized analytically and it is proven that in the latter case the squeezing converges exponentially fast to its asymptotic optimum, which we determine explicitly. For the case of multiple iterations we show that the optimum can be achieved with fixed intermediate passive operations. Finally, we relate the results to the generation of entanglement and derive the maximal two-mode entanglement achievable within the considered scenario.  相似文献

While the quantum metrological advantages of performing non-Gaussian operations on two-mode squeezed vacuum (TMSV) states have been extensively explored, similar studies in the context of two-mode squeezed thermal (TMST) states are severely lacking. This paper explores the potential advantages of performing non-Gaussian operations on TMST state for phase estimation using parity detection-based Mach–Zehnder interferometry and compares it with the TMSV case. To this end, a realistic photon subtraction, addition, and catalysis model is considered. A unified Wigner function of the photon subtracted, photon added, and photon catalyzed TMST state is derived, which is used to obtain the expression for the phase sensitivity. The results show that performing non-Gaussian operations on TMST states can enhance the phase sensitivity for significant squeezing and transmissivity parameter ranges. Because of the probabilistic nature of these operations, it is of utmost importance to consider their success probability. When the success probability is considered, the photon catalysis operation performed using a high transmissivity beam splitter is the optimal non-Gaussian operation. This contrasts with the TMSV case, where photon addition is observed as the most optimal. Further, the derived Wigner function of the non-Gaussian TMST states will be useful for state characterization and various quantum protocols.  相似文献

We study mechanical amplification and noise squeezing in a nonlinear nanomechanical resonator driven by an intense pump near its dynamical bifurcation point, namely, the onset of Duffing bistability. Phase sensitive amplification is achieved by a homodyne detection scheme, where the displacement detector's output, which has a correlated spectrum around the pump frequency, is down-converted by mixing with a local oscillator operating at the pump frequency with an adjustable phase. The down-converted signal at the mixer's output could be either amplified or deamplified, yielding noise squeezing, depending on the local oscillator phase.  相似文献

In scenarios of quantum metrology, the unitary parametrization process often depends on space directions. How to characterize the sensitivity of parameter estimation to space directions is a natural question. We propose the concept of the quantum Fisher information(QFI) width, which is the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the QFI, to quantitatively study the sensitivity. We find that Fock states, the bosonic coherent states, and the displaced Fock states all have zero widths, indicating that QFI is completely inert over all directions, while the width for the spin state with all spins down or up is equal to the number of particles, so this concept will enable us to choose appropriate directions to make unitary transformation to obtain larger QFI.The QFI width of the displaced quantum states is found to be independent of the magnitude of the displacement for both spin and bosonic systems. We also find some relations between the QFI width and squeezing parameters.  相似文献

We study a scheme for quantum teleportation of a single-mode squeezed coherent state using entangled two-mode squeezed vacuum. We establish the analytic expression of displacement gain dependent fidelity in terms of the squeezing coherent parameter \(r\) and quantum channel parameter \(p\) . The dependence of the optimum displacement gain for teleporting a squeezed coherent state upon the EPR entanglement is discussed. It shows that the fidelity of teleportation can be improved by tuning the displacement gain. We find that the fidelity increases with the increase of EPR parameter, while it decreases with the increase of the squeezing coherent parameter of the signal. We get infinite squeezing as a resource is required for an ideal and perfect teleportation of unknown input states. We show that the nonclassical properties of an unknown state to be teleported can be preserved in the teleportation.  相似文献

We report a metrology scheme which measures the magnetic susceptibility of an atomic spin ensemble along the $x$ and $z$ directions and produces parameter estimation with precision beating the standard quantum limit. The atomic ensemble is initialized via one-axis spin squeezing with optimized squeezing time and parameter $\phi$ (to be estimated) assumed as uniformly distributed between 0 and $2\pi$ while fixed in each estimation. One estimation of $\phi$ can be produced with every two magnetic susceptibility data measured along the two axes respectively, which has an imprecision scaling $({1.43\pm0.02})/N^{0.687\pm0.003}$ with respect to the number $N$ of the atomic spins. The measurement scheme is easy to implement and is robust against the measurement fluctuation caused by environment noise and measurement defects.  相似文献

We introduce the coordinate-dependent one- and two-mode squeezing transformations and discuss the properties of the corresponding one-and two-mode squeezed states. We show that the coordinate-dependent one-and two-mode squeezing transformations can be constructed by the combination of two transformations, a coordinate-dependent displacement followed by the standard squeezed transformation. Such a decomposition turns a nonlinear problem into a linear one because all the calculations involving the nonlinear one- and two-mode squeezed transformation have been shown to be able to reduce to those only concerning the standard one- and two-mode squeezed states.  相似文献

The distribution of a modulated squeezed state over a quantum channel is the basis for quantum key distribution(QKD) with a squeezed state. In this Letter, a modulated squeezed state is distributed over a lossy channel. The Wigner function of the distributed state is measured to observe the evolution of the quantum state over a lossy channel, which shows that the squeezing level and the displacement amplitude of the quantum state are decreased along with the increase of the channel loss. We also measure the squeezing level in the frequency domain by the frequency shift technique. The squeezing of the modulated squeezed state at the modulation frequency is observed in this way. The presented results supply a reference for a QKD with a squeezed state.  相似文献

From the normally ordered form of the density operator of a squeezed coherent state(SCS),we directly derive the compact expression of the SCS’s photon-number distribution(PND).Besides the known oscillation characteristics,we find that the PND is a periodic function with a period of π and extremely sensitive to phase.If the squeezing is strong enough,and the compound phase which is relevant to the complex squeezing and displacement parameters are assigned appropriate values,different oscillation behaviours in PND for even and odd photon numbers appear,respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate an unconditional high-fidelity teleporter capable of preserving the broadband entanglement in an optical squeezed state. In particular, we teleport a squeezed state of light and observe -0.8+/-0.2 dB of squeezing in the teleported (output) state. We show that the squeezing criterion translates directly into a sufficient criterion for entanglement of the upper and lower sidebands of the optical field. Thus, this result demonstrates the first unconditional teleportation of broadband entanglement. Our teleporter achieves sufficiently high fidelity to allow the teleportation to be cascaded, enabling, in principle, the construction of deterministic non-Gaussian operations.  相似文献

We show that a universal set of gates for quantum computation with optics can be quantum teleported through the use of EPR entangled states, homodyne detection, and linear optics and squeezing operations conditioned on measurement outcomes. This scheme may be used for fault-tolerant quantum computation in any optical scheme (qubit or continuous-variable). The teleportation of nondeterministic nonlinear gates employed in linear optics quantum computation is discussed.  相似文献

The performance of adding or subtracting photons on two-mode squeezed thermal states via examining the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) correlation, the Hillery–Zubairy (HZ) correlation, the fidelity of teleportation, and the negativity of Wigner function is theoretically investigated. The normalization factors and the teleportation fidelity are related to Jacobi polynomials, and the (evolved) Wigner functions are simply associated with two-variable Hermite polynomials. Compared with the original squeezed thermal states, the EPR correlation and the teleportation fidelity can be enhanced by photon subtraction and basically weakened by photon addition symmetric operations, but they cannot be enhanced for both photon addition and subtraction asymmetric cases. Also, HZ correlation can provide a better option relative to the EPR correlation in detecting the entanglement, and the fidelity for teleporting a squeezed state with a large squeezing can also be enhanced via photon addition symmetric operations, in contrast to teleporting a coherent state. Additionally, the nonclassicality is discussed in terms of the negativity of the (evolved) Wigner functions, which shows that photon addition and subtraction and the squeezing cannot restrain the deteriorate of nonclassicality, and the evolved Wigner functions become Gaussian (corresponding to vacuum) with long decay times as a result of amplitude decay.  相似文献

A novel scheme is proposed to estimate three environmental parameters, the detuning, the temperature and the squeezing strength with one-qubit or two-qubit probes. Quantum Fisher information and the fidelity of the atom probes are calculated. When the detuning between the frequency of cavity field and the atomic transition frequency is estimated, the dynamics of quantum Fisher information shows oscillatory and rising behaviors. To estimate the temperature of the thermal reservoir, the one-qubit probe with the superposition initial state is more favorable than the two-qubit probe with the entangled initial state. When the squeezing strength of the squeezed vacuum reservoir is estimated, we find that the estimation precision is significantly improved by utilizing the two-qubit probe with the maximal entangled initial state. Our work provides a potential application in the open quantum system and quantum information processing.  相似文献

Starting from the classical equation of motion for a mesoscopic capacitancecoupling circuit, we study the quantum fluctuations of charge and current of themesoscopic capacitance coupling circuit in a displaced squeezed Fock state. 准静态弹性成像技术是基于组织压缩前和压缩后超声回波射频信号进行组织运动重构的弹性成像技术。提出了一种基于先验估计的自适应窗函数算法,在位移估计过程中,使用已估计的临近窗的时延值作为先验信息,自动调整截取压缩后射频信号段的截取窗函数,提高了互相关运算所需的压缩前和压缩后信号段之间的相关性。仿真实验结果表明,该算法不仅大大提高了成像速度,而且提高了信噪比较低时的成像质量,同时该算法具有更宽的应变通带。   相似文献
