Both fluoroalkylsilane (FAS) and octadecyltrimethoxysilane (ODS) were coated on oxidized silicon wafers using soaking and CVD method. Smooth coatings with Ra values of less than 1 nm were attained. The slope of the sliding acceleration against the inverse of the droplet mass showed an inflection point. That point shifted to the direction of smaller droplets with decreasing FAS ratio to ODS. The water droplets’ length was increased when the sliding velocity was increased. Fluoroalkylsilane addition to ODS increases the interaction between water and the hydrophobic surface. Results showed that the sliding acceleration of a water droplet depends strongly on the surface ratio of these silanes.  相似文献

Superhydrophobic thin films were prepared on glass by air-brushing the in situ polymerization compositions of D5/SiO2. The wettability and morphology were investigated by contact angle measurement and scanning electron microscopy. The most superhydrophobic samples prepared had a static water contact angle of 157° for a 5 μl droplet and a sliding angle of ∼1° for 10 μl droplet. Thermal stability analysis showed that the surface maintained superhydrophobic at temperature up to 450 °C. Air trapping and capillary force on superhydrophobic behavior were evaluated.  相似文献

Based on the volume of fluid(VOF) method, we conduct a numerical simulation to study the hydrodynamic binary coalescence of droplets under air flow in a hydrophobic rectangular microchannel. Two distinct regimes, coalescence followed by sliding motion and that followed by detaching motion, are identified and discussed. Additionally, the detailed hydrodynamic information behind the binary coalescence is provided, based on which a dynamic mechanical analysis is conducted to reveal the hydrodynamic mechanisms underlying these two regimes. The simulation results indicate that the sliding motion of droplets is driven by the drag force and restrained by the adhesion force induced by the interfacial tension along the main flow direction. The detachment(i.e., upward motion) of the droplet is driven by the lift force associated with an aerodynamic lifting pressure difference imposed on the coalescent droplet, and also restrained by the adhesion force perpendicular to the main flow direction. Especially, the lift force is mainly induced by an aerodynamic lifting pressure difference imposed on the coalescent droplet. Two typical regimes can be quantitatively recognized by a regime diagram depending on Re and We. The higher Re and We respectively lead to relatively larger lift forces and smaller adhesion forces acting on the droplet, both of which are helpful to detachment of the coalesced droplet.  相似文献

Two-dimensional crystal curved lines consisting of the nonlinear optical SmxBi1−xBO3 phase are fabricated at the surface of 8Sm2O3·37Bi2O3·55B2O3 glass by continuous wave Nd:YAG laser (wavelength: 1064 nm) irradiation (samarium atom heat processing) with a power of ∼0.9 W and a laser scanning speed of 5 μm/s. The curved lines with bending angles of 0-90° or with sine-shapes are written by just changing the laser scanning direction. The polarized micro-Raman scattering spectra for the line after bending are the same as those for the line before bending, indicating that the crystal plane of SmxBi1−xBO3 crystals to the crystal growth direction might be maintained even after the change in the laser scanning direction. It is found from laser scanning microscope observations that the crystal lines at the surface are swelled out smoothly, giving a height of about 10 μm.  相似文献

基于固体边缘效应,对碳化硅(SiC)表面激光加工圆环形沟槽的润湿特性进行实验研究,通过分析去离子水在圆环槽上的润湿性能及其在边缘处的铺展行为,获得了环槽深度与环槽宽度对液滴在边缘处最大表观接触角的影响规律.结果表明,SiC圆环槽阻碍液滴铺展,光滑基体表面上接触角为70°,激光加工圆环槽深度为290μm,宽度为1 mm时,接触角可达138.5°.随槽深的增大,接触角呈现先增大后趋于稳定的趋势,临界槽深为80μm.当槽深小于该极值时,接触角随槽深的增大而线性增大;当槽深大于该极值时,液滴处于稳定钉扎状态,接触角趋于稳定,其稳定值符合Gibbs不等式.环槽宽度存在一临界值40μm.当槽宽低于该值时,液滴接触环槽外缘后越过沟槽继续在平面上铺展;当槽宽大于该值时,接触角趋于稳定,液滴沿边缘铺展.  相似文献

The transient convective burning of n-octane droplets interacting within single-layer arrays in a hot gas flow perpendicular to the layer is studied numerically, with considerations of droplet surface regression, deceleration due to the drag of the droplets, internal liquid motion, variable properties, non-uniform liquid temperature and surface tension. Infinite periodic arrays, semi-infinite periodic arrays with one row of droplets (linear array) or two rows of droplets, and finite arrays with nine droplets with centers in a plane are investigated. All arrays are aligned orthogonal to the free stream direction. This paper compares the behavior of semi-infinite periodic arrays and finite arrays with the behavior of previously studied infinite periodic arrays. Furthermore, it identifies the critical values of the initial Damköhler number for bifurcations in flame behavior at various initial droplet spacing for all these arrays. The initial flame shape is either an envelope flame or a wake flame as determined by the initial Damköhler number, the array configuration and the initial droplet spacing. The critical initial Damköhler number separating initial wake flames from initial envelope flames decreases with increasing interaction amongst droplets at intermediate droplet spacing (when the number of rows in the array increases or the initial droplet spacing decreases for a specific number of rows in the array). In the transient process, an initial wake flame has a tendency to develop from a wake flame to an envelope flame, with the moment of wake-to-envelope transition advanced for the increasing interaction amongst droplets at intermediate droplet spacing. For the array with nine droplets with centers in a plane, the droplets at different types of positions have different critical initial Damköhler number and different wake-to-envelope transition time for initial wake flame.  相似文献

We investigate experimentally and theoretically the coalescence dynamics of two spreading droplets on a highly wettable substrate. Upon contact, surface tension drives a rapid motion perpendicular to the line of centers that joins the drops and lowers the total surface area. We find that the width of the growing meniscus bridge between the two droplets exhibits power-law behavior, growing at early times as t1/2. Moreover, the growth rate is highly sensitive to both the radii and heights of the droplets at contact, scaling as ho3/2/Ro. This size dependence differs significantly from the behavior of freely suspended droplets, in which the coalescence growth rate depends only weakly on the droplet size. We demonstrate that the scaling behavior is consistent with a model in which the growth of the meniscus bridge is governed by the viscously hindered flux from the droplets.  相似文献

Effect of temperature and surface tension on surface during sedimentation is studied using atomic force microscopy. Effects of surface tension is incorporated by using ∼1 mm radius water droplets. Surface tension of water droplet directed the deposition of dissolved particles around the perimeter of the droplet; leaving almost hollow circle in the middle with light deposition due to the particles being close to the surface. Evaporating shallow water solutions left random salt structures on the surface. Growth exponents are calculated along with the fractal dimension. For sedimentation process in shallow water (depth of ∼2 mm), a transition is observed from continuum model (1.88±0.2) to KPZ (0.406±0.082) universality class around ∼1 μm at room temperature. For droplets evaporation, turbulent (multi-affine) to self-affine transition is observed. Fractal dimensions (FD) for the droplets are found to be between one and two. The FD values are consistent with the fact that competing nonlinear terms are present in the system.  相似文献

在考虑空气阻力影响,确定液滴撞击球面速度的基础上,对较高韦伯数液滴撞击干燥球面动态行为过程进行了实验研究,分析了球面曲率与韦伯数对液滴撞击行为和铺展因子的影响,并与前人撞击平面结果进行了对比.实验表明,靠近撞击球面时,液滴降落速度出现明显波动;球面曲率对液滴撞击后行为影响明显,曲率较大时,液滴撞击后铺展液膜会超出球面直径并滑落,曲率较小时,液滴撞击后在球面上呈现明显的铺展、回缩、震荡、着附动态变化行为,此时最大铺展因子受曲率影响小,随曲率减小,逐渐趋向于撞击平面时的最大铺展因子;韦伯数对液膜铺展速率影响较小,但对液膜回缩时间影响明显,最大铺展因子随韦伯数增加逐渐增大,获得的关联式呈指数变化.  相似文献

A novel ZnS hierarchical structure composed of nanorod arrays with branched nanosheets and nanowires grown on their upside walls, was synthesized over Au-coated silicon substrate via chemical vapor deposition technique. Contact angle and sliding angle of this hierarchical film with no surface modification were measured to be about 153.8° and 9.1° for 5 μl water droplets. Self-cleaning behavior and dynamic water-repelling performance were clearly demonstrated. In addition, electrowetting transition phenomenon from superhydrophobic to hydrophilic state happened when a critical bias ∼7.0 V was applied. Below this threshold voltage, the contact angle change is little. This work for the first time reports the creation of ZnS superhydrophobic surface and could enrich its research field as surface functional materials.  相似文献

采用基于Shan-Chen伪势模型的格子Boltzmann方法,对液滴在存在润湿梯度的倾斜表面上克服重力、自下而上运动的过程进行模拟。探究润湿梯度、液滴尺寸、Bond数以及表面倾斜角度对液滴运动的影响。计算结果表明:液滴在运动过程中,内部会出现沿斜面向上的速度矢量,润湿梯度越大,液滴运动速度越快,润湿长度也越长,且动态接触角减小速率越快。液滴尺寸和Bond数对液滴运动的影响较小,但存在临界Bond数,超过该临界Bond数时,液滴将沿梯度润湿表面向下运动。表面倾角对液滴运动有显著影响,倾角增大,液滴运动速度和润湿长度都明显减小。  相似文献

The present paper describes the room temperature synthesis of dip coated water repellent silica coatings onto stainless steel substrates using 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexamethyldisilazane as a surface modifying agent. The hydrophobic property of the silica coating was enhanced by increasing its surface roughness, which was achieved by a proper control over the MeOH/TMOS molar ratio (S) during the synthesis. The contact angle of a water droplet (10 μl) increased from 72° to 145° with an increase in the S value from 9.1 to 36.4. The silica coating showed a minimum sliding angle of 15° for a water droplet of 10 μl. The water repellent silica coatings are thermally stable up to a temperature of 340 °C. The results have been discussed by taking into consideration the contact angle measurements, surface morphology and sol-gel parameters.  相似文献

When a nonvolatile liquid film dewets from a partly compatible liquid substrate, the advancing dewetting front leaves behind droplets formed through a Rayleigh instability mechanism at its rim. We have found that these droplets continue to move in the direction of the dewetting front for extended periods (of order one day) with an initial droplet velocity varying linearly with the droplet size, and a displacement varying logarithmically with time. We attribute this persistent motion to a transient surface tension gradient on the substrate liquid surface trailing the dewetting front.  相似文献

基于液滴的转移方法可实现微操作任务中微对象的拾取,锥形操作探针则常作为一种毛细力微操作执行工具。主要研究在空气冷凝模式下锥形探针端面的液滴形成。建立了微液滴形成的数学模型,主要包括初始液滴的形成、液滴的合并和液滴的移动,研究了影响操作液滴的关键参数,分析表明:过冷度决定最小液滴半径。对单液滴的生长机制进行理论分析,并通过数值求解的方法模拟了锥形操作探针端面的液滴形成。搭建实验测试平台,实验研究了微尺度下锥形微操作探针端面的液滴形成。实验结果表明:在空气冷凝模式下,操作探针端面能够形成微液滴。经过初始液滴的形成,液滴的合并和移动等过程最终可形成稳定的微液滴,且不同锥顶角下液滴的形成呈现多样化。  相似文献

This study measured sliding acceleration of water droplets on hydrophobic solid surfaces and used expanding and contracting method to compare that value with dynamic contact angles. Sliding action of the droplet was classified into three motion categories: constant accelerated motion, constant velocity and stasis. Differences exist in the dependencies of contact radius and the injection-suction rate in dynamic contact angle hysteresis according to these categories. This method is an effective indicator of water droplets’ sliding acceleration.  相似文献

Static and dynamic hydrophobicities of water droplet on a patterned surface prepared using fluoroalkylsilanes with different molecular chain lengths were investigated. Contact angles on the patterned surfaces well agreed with values predicted using Cassie’s theory. On the same line width ratio, total retention force was governed by the fluoroalkylsilane with slow-sliding acceleration. The total retention force decreased with the decreasing width ratio of silane with slow-sliding acceleration on the surface. These results imply that the sliding acceleration of water droplets on a hydrophobic surface depends both on chemical composition and patterning structure.  相似文献

Hydrogen permeation measurements of 1.5-10 μm thick Pd/Ag23 wt% membranes before and after thermal treatments at 300 °C in air (both sides) or in the temperature range 300-450 °C in N2 (feed side) and Ar (permeate side) were performed. Accompanying changes in surface topography and chemical composition were subsequently investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) depth profiling. For a 2 μm thick membrane, the surface roughness increased for all annealing temperatures applied, while a temperature of 450 °C was required for an increase in roughness of both membrane surfaces to occur for the 5 μm membrane. The thickest membrane, of 10 μm, showed changed surface roughness on one side of the membrane only and a slight decrease in hydrogen permeance after all heat treatments in N2/Ar. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy investigations performed after treatment and subsequent permeation measurements revealed segregation of silver to the membrane surfaces for all annealing temperatures applied. In comparison, heat treatment at 300 °C in air resulted in significantly increased hydrogen permeance accompanied by increasing surface roughness. Upon exposure to oxygen, Pd segregates to the surface to form a 2-3 nm thick oxide layer (PdO), with more complex segregation behavior after subsequent reduction and permeance measurements in pure hydrogen. The available permeance data for the Pd/Ag23 wt% membranes after heat treatment in air at 300 °C is found to depend linearly on the inverse membrane thickness, implying bulk limited hydrogen permeation for thicknesses down to 1.5-2.0 μm.  相似文献

We study the impact and subsequent retraction dynamics of aqueous liquid droplets upon high-speed impact on hydrophobic surfaces. Often a spectacular "rebound" of the droplet can be observed: after the impact and expansion, the drop retracts rapidly, leading to ejection of part of the material from the surface. We show how non-Newtonian flow properties can be used to slow down the retraction sufficiently to completely inhibit rebound. The slowing down is due to non-Newtonian normal stresses generated near the moving contact line of the droplet. We provide a quantitative theory for the slowing down, and show that the non-Newtonian effects profoundly change the contact line dynamics.  相似文献

The diabatic approach to dissipative collective nuclear motion is reformulated in the local-density approximation in order to treat the normal modes of a spherical nuclear droplet analytically. In a first application the adiabatic isoscalar modes are studied and results for the eigenvalues of compressional (bulk) and pure surface modes are presented as function of density and temperature inside the droplet, as well as for different mass numbers and for soft and stiff equations of state. We find that the region of bulk instabilities (spinodal regime) is substantially smaller for nuclear droplets than for infinite nuclear matter. For small densities below 30% of normal nuclear matter density and for temperatures below 5 MeV all relevant bulk modes become unstable with similar growth rates. The surface modes have a larger spinodal region, reaching out to densities and temperatures way beyond the spinodal line for bulk instabilities. Essential experimental features of multifragmentation, like fragmentation temperatures and fragment-mass distributions (in particular the power-law behavior) are consistent with the instability properties of an expanding nuclear droplet, and hence with a dynamical fragmentation process within the spinodal regime of bulk and surface modes (spinodal decomposition).
