We investigated the orbital and antiferromagnetic ordering behaviors of the half-doped bilayer manganite La(2-2x)Sr(1+2x)Mn2O7 (x ? 0.5) by using Mn L(2,3)-edge resonant soft x-ray scattering. Resonant soft x-ray scattering reveals the CE-type orbital order below T(oo) ? 220 K, which shows partial melting behavior below T(m) ? 165 K. We also found coexistence CE- and A-type antiferromagnetic orders. Both orders involve the CE-type orbital order with nearly the same orbital character and are coupled with each other. These results manifest that the ground state with the CE-type antiferromagnetic order is easily susceptible to destabilization into the A-type one even with a small fluctuation of the doping level, as suggested by the extremely narrow magnetic phase boundaries at x ? 0.5±0.005.  相似文献

The nature of electronic states due to strong correlation and geometric frustration on the triangular lattice is investigated in connection to the unconventional insulating state of NaxCoO2 at x=0.5. We study an extended Hubbard model using a spatially unrestricted Gutzwiller approximation. We find a new class of charge and spin ordered states at x=1/3 and x=0.5 where antiferromagnetic (AFM) frustration is alleviated via weak charge inhomogeneity. At x=0.5, we show that the square root of 3a x 2a off-plane Na dopant order induces weak square root of 3a x 1a charge order in the Co layer. The symmetry breaking enables successive square root of 3a x 1a AFM and 2a x 2a charge- or spin-ordering transitions at low temperatures. The Fermi surface is truncated by the 2a x 2a hexagonal zone boundary into small electron and hole pockets. We study the phase structure and compare to recent experiments.  相似文献

We have synthesized polycrystalline samples of Eu(1-x)K(x)Fe2As2 (x = 0-1) and carried out systematic characterization using x-ray diffraction, ac and dc magnetic susceptibility, and electrical resistivity measurements. A clear signature of the coexistence of a superconducting transition (T(c) = 5.5 K) with spin density wave (SDW) ordering is observed in our underdoped sample with x = 0.15. The SDW transition disappears completely for the x = 0.3 sample and superconductivity arises below 20 K. The superconducting transition temperature Tc increases with increase in the K content and a maximum Tc = 33 K is reached for x = 0.5, beyond which it decreases again. The doping dependent Tx phase diagram is extracted from the magnetic and electrical transport data. It is found that magnetic ordering of Eu moments coexists with the superconductivity up to x = 0.6. The isothermal magnetization data taken at 2 K for the doped samples suggest the 2+ valence state of the Eu ions. We also present the temperature dependence of the lower critical field H(c1) of the superconducting polycrystalline samples. The values of H(c1)(0) obtained for x = 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 after taking the demagnetization factor into account are 202, 330, and 212 Oe, respectively. The London penetration depth λ(T) calculated from the lower critical field does not show exponential dependence at low temperature, as would be expected for a fully gapped clean s-wave superconductor. In contrast, it shows a T2 power law feature up to T = 0.3Tc, as observed in Ba(1-x)K(x)Fe2As2 and BaFe(2-x)Co(x)As2.  相似文献

Bi5Fe1-xCoxTi3O15(x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, and 0.8) multiferroic ceramics are synthesized in two steps using the solid state reaction technique. X-ray diffraction patterns show that the samples have four-layer Aurivillius phases. At room temperature (RT), the samples each present a remarkable coexistence of ferromagnetism (FM) and ferroelectricity (FE). The remnant polarization (2P r ) reaches its greatest value of 14 μC/cm 2 at x = 0.6. Remnant magnetization (2M r ) first increases and then decreases, and the greatest 2M r is 7.8 menu/g when x = 0.5. The magnetic properties for x = 0.4 are similar to those for x = 0.6, indicating that the magnetic properties originate mainly from the coupling between Fe 3+ and Co 3+ ions, rather than from their own magnetic moments.  相似文献

Here we report the observation of Fermi surface (FS) pockets via the Shubnikov-de Haas effect in NaxCoO2 for x=0.71 and 0.84, respectively. Our observations indicate that the FS expected for each compound intersects their corresponding Brillouin zones, as defined by the previously reported superlattice structures, leading to small reconstructed FS pockets, but only if a precise number of holes per unit cell is localized. For 0.71< or = x < 0.75 the coexistence of itinerant carriers and localized S=1/2 spins on a paramagnetic triangular superlattice leads at low temperatures to the observation of a deviation from standard Fermi-liquid behavior in the electrical transport and heat capacity properties, suggesting the formation of some kind of quantum spin-liquid ground state.  相似文献

59Co NMR measurements on La1-xSrxCoO3 reported here establish unequivocally, for the first time, the coexistence of ferromagnetic regions, spin-glass regions, and hole-poor low spin regions at all x values from 0.1 to 0.5. A zero external field NMR spectrum, which is assigned to the ferromagnetic regions, has a spectral shape that is nearly x independent at 1.9 K, as are the relaxation times, T1 and T2. The integrated spectral area increases rapidly with x up to x = 0.2 and then decreases slightly for larger x. In a field of 9.97 T, a narrow NMR line is observed at 102 MHz, identical to that found in x = 0 samples in previous work. The integrated intensity of this spectrum decreases rapidly with increasing x, and is ascribed to hole-poor low spin regions. Beneath this spectrum, a third broad line, with a peak at 100 MHz, is assigned to a spin- or cluster-glass-like phase.  相似文献

Abstract

With increasing X on Ca1-xSrxF2 mixed crystals doped with Eu2+ (4f65d) ions, the absorption peak shifted linearly to that of SrF2:Eu, while the luminescence one moved parabolically with a minimum at around x=0.5. The linewidth broadened nearly twice as large as that of CaF2 in the vicinity of x=0.5 and subsequently renarrowed for x > 0.5. The temperature dependences of the luminescence intensity and life time revealed that the nonradiative activation energy has a minimum of 0.40 eV around x=0.5. From the calculated result of the lineshape, these non-linear behaviors against x were explained by adjusting the electron-phonon coupling strength.  相似文献

(Bi0.5Na0.5)0.94Ba0.06TiO3 (BNBT-6) with simultaneous addition of 0.5 mol% CeO2 and 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75 mol% La2O3, respectively, was prepared by a conventional ceramic fabrication technique. An addition of 0.5 mol% CeO2 together with 0.5 mol% La2O3 enhanced the piezoelectric and dielectric constant of BNBT-6 ceramics significantly. At room temperature, this composition exhibits a high piezoelectric constant (d33=162×10-12 C/N) and relatively low dielectric loss (cos=2.0%) at 1 kHz. X-ray diffraction pattern shows that the coexistence of tetragonal and rhombohedral phases in the BNBT-6 composition was not changed by adding CeO2+La2O3, and they diffused into the BNBT lattice during sintering. The series of non-stochiometric strontium substituted lanthanium manganites La 1 m x Sr x MnO 3 m i i ( i = 0.1, x = 0.2-0.5) has been studied and show the effect of oxygen deficiency on the structural transition, magnetic and electrical properties of these compounds. Polycrystalline samples La 1 m x Sr x MnO 3 m i i were synthesised by a new method at atmospheric pressure. In this series of manganites, the Mn 4+ content is systematically decreased due to increase in the non-stoichiometry. X-ray diffraction analysis shows a phase transition from orthorhombic to rhombohedral systems for 0.2 h x h 0.5. The material is ferromagnetic for 0.3 h x h 0.5 and antiferromagnetic for x = 0.2. The Curie temperature T C increases with increasing x . The resistivity as a function of temperature shows that samples with x = 0.3 and ferromagnetic metal between T CF and T P becomes ferromagnetic insulators below T CF where charge-ordering seems to appear.  相似文献

The coexistence of cluster glass with long-range antiferromagnetic order in the relaxor ferroelectric PbFe 0.5 Nb 0.5 O3 is elucidated. While the transition at T(N) = 153 K on the infinite antiferromagnetic cluster induces 3m symmetry with large EH2 magnetoelectric response, the disconnected subspace of isolated Fe3+ ions and finite clusters accommodates the cluster glass below T(g) = 10.6 K with field-induced m' symmetry and EH-type magnetoelectric response. Critical slowing-down, memory and rejuvenation after aging, occurrence of a de Almeida-Thouless phase line, and stretched exponential relaxation of remanence corroborate the glass nature.  相似文献

Superconductivity below 0.3 K and a charge-density-wave-like(CDW-like) anomaly at 280 K were observed in EuBiS_2F recently.Here we report a systematic study of structural and transport properties in Eu_(0.5)Ln_(0.5)BiS_2F(Ln=La,Ce,Pr,Nd,Sm) by electrical resistivity,magnetization,and specific heat measurements.The lattice constants have a significant change upon rare earth substitution for Eu,suggesting an effective doping.As Ln is changed from Sm to La,the superconducting transition temperature T_c increases from 1.55 K to 2.8 K.In contrast to the metallic parent compound,the temperature dependence of electrical resistivity displays semiconductinglike behavior for all the Eu_(0.5)Ln_(0.5)BiS_2F samples.Meanwhile,the CDW-like anomaly observed in EuBiS2F is completely suppressed.Unlike the mixed valence state in the undoped compound,Eu ions in these rareearth-doped samples are mainly divalent.A specific anomaly at 1.3 K resembling that in EuBiS2F suggests the coexistence of superconductivity and spin glass state for Eu_(0.5)La_(0.5)BiS_2F.Coexistence of ferromagnetic order and superconductivity is found below 2.2 K in Eu_(0.5)Ce_(0.5)BiS_2F samples.Our results supplies a rich diagram showing that many interesting properties can be induced in BiS_2-based compounds.  相似文献

X-ray and neutron-diffraction, dc magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, and specific-heat measurements are reported for FexCo(1-x)Ta2O6 mixed oxides. X-ray refinement indicates homogeneous samples for all the reported concentrations. The neutron-diffraction measurements reveal magnetic structures with double propagation vectors (+/-1/4,1/4,1/4) for CoTa2O6, and (1/2,0,1/2) and (0,1/2,1/2) for FeTa2O6. The latter remain unchanged in the Fe-rich samples, for 0.46< or =x<1.00, while the Co-rich samples show propagation vectors (+/-1/4,1/4,0) for 0.09< or =x<0.46. The temperature vs x phase diagram exhibits a bicritical point at about T=4.9 K and x=0.46. For this concentration, and at low temperatures, the system shows coexistence of both magnetic structures. This novel bicritical behavior is interpreted as induced by competition between the different magnetic and crystallographic structures.  相似文献

The recently reported coexistence of an oscillatory magnetic order with wave vector Q = 0.241−1 and superconductivity in TmNi2B2C is analyzed theoretically. It is shown that the oscillatory magnetic order and superconductivity interact predominantly via the exchange interaction between localized moments (LMs) and conduction electrons, while the electromagnetic interaction between them is negligible. In the coexistence phase of the clean TmNi2B2C the quasiparticle spectrum should have a line of zeros at the Fermi surface, giving rise to the power-law behavior of thermodynamic and transport properties. Two scenarios of the origin of the oscillatory magnetic order in TmNi2B2C are analyzed: (a) due to superconductivity and (b) independently of superconductivity. Experiments in a magnetic field are proposed in order to choose between them.  相似文献

We study the surface tension and the phenomenon of phase coexistence for the Ising model on with ferromagnetic but random couplings. We prove the convergence in probability (with respect to random couplings) of surface tension and analyze its large deviations: upper deviations occur at volume order while lower deviations occur at surface order. We study the asymptotics of surface tension at low temperatures and relate the quenched value τ q of surface tension to maximal flows (first passage times if d =  2). For a broad class of distributions of the couplings we show that the inequality –where τ a is the surface tension under the averaged Gibbs measure – is strict at low temperatures. We also describe the phenomenon of phase coexistence in the dilute Ising model and discuss some of the consequences of the media randomness. All of our results hold as well for the dilute Potts and random cluster models.  相似文献

The hole-concentration (x) dependence of the three-dimensional energy-momentum dispersion in (Bi, Pb)2(Sr, La)2CuO(6+delta) has been investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. For a heavily overdoped sample of T(c) < or = 0.5 K, an energy dispersion of approximately 10 meV in width is observed in the vicinity of the (pi, 0) point with varying momentum along the c axis (k(z)). This k(z) dispersion is zero for underdoped, optimally doped, and slightly overdoped samples up to a doping level corresponding to T(c) = 22 k. At higher doping levels we observe significant dispersion of the order of 10 meV (sample with T(c) < or = 0.5 K). This is clear evidence that at a doping value corresponding to T(c) = 22 K, a crossover from two- to three-dimensional electronic structure occurs.  相似文献

The magnetic behavior of the pseudo-binary system Fe2(Nb1-xMnx) is investigated by means of the experimental techniques of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Mössbauer Spectroscopy (MS) and magnetization studies. The XRD results indicate that, up to x=0.3, all samples are single phase with hcp structure. This corresponds to the solubility limit of manganese in this phase. Above x=0.3, all prepared samples present the coexistence of three phases, two with hcp structure and one fcc. The magnetization measurements at low temperatures indicate that the transition temperature increases with the addition of Mn atoms in the Fe2Nb host (TN=10 K) up to 58 K for x=0.1. The Mössbauer spectra were fitted with a quadrupole splitting distribution, which indicates that the average quadrupolar splitting increases slightly with the increase of the manganese concentration.  相似文献
