A pair 〈B,K〉 is a Namioka pair if K is compact and for any separately continuous , there is a dense AB such that f is ( jointly) continuous on A×K. We give an example of a Choquet space B and separately continuous such that the restriction fΔ| to the diagonal does not have a dense set of continuity points. However, for K a compact fragmentable space we have: For any separately continuous and for any Baire subspace F of T×K, the set of points of continuity of is dense in F. We say that 〈B,K〉 is a weak-Namioka pair if K is compact and for any separately continuous and a closed subset F projecting irreducibly onto B, the set of points of continuity of fF| is dense in F. We show that T is a Baire space if the pair 〈T,K〉 is a weak-Namioka pair for every compact K. Under (CH) there is an example of a space B such that 〈B,K〉 is a Namioka pair for every compact K but there is a countably compact C and a separately continuous which has no dense set of continuity points; in fact, f does not even have the Baire property.  相似文献

Let BA be an H-Galois extension, where H is a Hopf algebra over a field K. If M is a Hopf bimodule then , the Hochschild homology of A with coefficients in M, is a right comodule over the coalgebra CH=H/[H,H]. Given an injective left CH-comodule V, our aim is to understand the relationship between and . The roots of this problem can be found in Lorenz (1994) [15], where and are shown to be isomorphic for any centrally G-Galois extension. To approach the above mentioned problem, in the case when A is a faithfully flat B-module and H satisfies some technical conditions, we construct a spectral sequence

We prove that if S is an ω-model of weak weak König’s lemma and , is incomputable, then there exists , such that A and B are Turing incomparable. This extends a recent result of Ku?era and Slaman who proved that if S0 is a Scott set (i.e. an ω-model of weak König’s lemma) and AS0, Aω, is incomputable, then there exists BS0, Bω, such that A and B are Turing incomparable.  相似文献

Let be a surjective continuous map between compact Hausdorff spaces. The map π induces, by composition, an injective morphism C(Y)→C(X) between the corresponding rings of real-valued continuous functions, and this morphism allows us to consider C(Y) as a subring of C(X). This paper deals with algebraic properties of the ring extension C(Y)⊆C(X) in relation to topological properties of the map . We prove that if the extension C(Y)⊆C(X) has a primitive element, i.e., C(X)=C(Y)[f], then it is a finite extension and, consequently, the map π is locally injective. Moreover, for each primitive element f we consider the ideal and prove that, for a connected space Y, If is a principal ideal if and only if is a trivial covering.  相似文献

We describe the structure of d-dimensional sets of lattice points, having a small doubling property. Let K be a finite subset of Zd such that dimK=d?2. If and |K|>3⋅d4, then K lies on d parallel lines. Moreover, for every d-dimensional finite set KZd that lies on d?1 parallel lines, if , then K is contained in d parallel arithmetic progressions with the same common difference, having together no more than terms. These best possible results answer a recent question posed by Freiman and cannot be sharpened by reducing the quantity v or by increasing the upper bounds for |K+K|.  相似文献

Let K denote a field and let V denote a vector space over K with finite positive dimension. We consider a pair of K-linear transformations A:VV and A:VV that satisfy the following conditions: (i) each of A,A is diagonalizable; (ii) there exists an ordering of the eigenspaces of A such that AViVi-1+Vi+Vi+1 for 0?i?d, where V-1=0 and Vd+1=0; (iii) there exists an ordering of the eigenspaces of A such that for 0?i?δ, where and ; (iv) there is no subspace W of V such that AWW,AWW,W≠0,WV.We call such a pair a tridiagonal pair on V. It is known that d=δ and for 0?i?d the dimensions of coincide. In this paper we show that the following (i)-(iv) hold provided that K is algebraically closed: (i) Each of has dimension 1.(ii) There exists a nondegenerate symmetric bilinear form 〈,〉 on V such that 〈Au,v〉=〈u,Av〉 and 〈Au,v〉=〈u,Av〉 for all u,vV.(iii) There exists a unique anti-automorphism of End(V) that fixes each of A,A.(iv) The pair A,A is determined up to isomorphism by the data , where θi (resp.) is the eigenvalue of A (resp.A) on Vi (resp.), and is the split sequence of A,A corresponding to and .  相似文献

In [H. Krause, O. Solberg, Applications of cotorsion pairs, J. London Math. Soc. 68 (2003) 631-650], the Telescope Conjecture was formulated for the module category of an artin algebra R as follows: “If C=(A,B) is a complete hereditary cotorsion pair in with A and B closed under direct limits, then ”. We extend this conjecture to arbitrary rings R, and show that it holds true if and only if the cotorsion pair C is of finite type. Then we prove the conjecture in the case when R is right noetherian and B has bounded injective dimension (thus, in particular, when C is any cotilting cotorsion pair). We also focus on the assumptions that A and B are closed under direct limits and on related closure properties, and detect several asymmetries in the properties of A and B.  相似文献

We define the Haagerup property for C?-algebras A and extend this to a notion of relative Haagerup property for the inclusion BA, where B is a C?-subalgebra of A. Let Γ be a discrete group and Λ a normal subgroup of Γ, we show that the inclusion A?α,rΛA?α,rΓ has the relative Haagerup property if and only if the quotient group Γ/Λ has the Haagerup property. In particular, the inclusion has the relative Haagerup property if and only if Γ/Λ has the Haagerup property; has the Haagerup property if and only if Γ has the Haagerup property. We also characterize the Haagerup property for Γ in terms of its Fourier algebra A(Γ).  相似文献

Generalizing the work of Doi and of Idrissi, we define a coHochschild homology theory for chain coalgebras over any commutative ring and prove its naturality with respect to morphisms of chain coalgebras up to strong homotopy. As a consequence we obtain that if the comultiplication of a chain coalgebra C is itself a morphism of chain coalgebras up to strong homotopy, then the coHochschild complex admits a natural comultiplicative structure. In particular, if K is a reduced simplicial set and CK is its normalized chain complex, then is naturally a homotopy-coassociative chain coalgebra. We provide a simple, explicit formula for the comultiplication on when K is a simplicial suspension. The coHochschild complex construction is topologically relevant. Given two simplicial maps g,h:KL, where K and L are reduced, the homology of the coHochschild complex of CL with coefficients in CK is isomorphic to the homology of the homotopy coincidence space of the geometric realizations of g and h, and this isomorphism respects comultiplicative structure. In particular, there is an isomorphism, respecting comultiplicative structure, from the homology of to HL|K|, the homology of the free loops on the geometric realization of K.  相似文献

Let be a prime. Let a,bZ with p?a(a2+b2). In the paper we mainly determine by assuming p=c2+d2 or p=Ax2+2Bxy+Cy2 with ACB2=a2+b2. As an application we obtain simple criteria for εD to be a quadratic residue , where D>1 is a squarefree integer such that D is a quadratic residue of p, εD is the fundamental unit of the quadratic field with negative norm. We also establish the congruences for and obtain a general criterion for p|U(p−1)/4, where {Un} is the Lucas sequence defined by U0=0, U1=1 and Un+1=bUn+k2Un−1(n?1).  相似文献

Let F denote a field and let V denote a vector space over F with finite positive dimension. We consider a pair of linear transformations A:VV and A:VV that satisfy the following conditions: (i) each of A,A is diagonalizable; (ii) there exists an ordering of the eigenspaces of A such that AViVi-1+Vi+Vi+1 for 0?i?d, where V-1=0 and Vd+1=0; (iii) there exists an ordering of the eigenspaces of A such that for 0?i?δ, where and ; (iv) there is no subspace W of V such that AWW, AWW, W≠0, WV. We call such a pair a tridiagonal pair on V. It is known that d=δ and for 0?i?d the dimensions of coincide. The pair A,A is called sharp whenever . It is known that if F is algebraically closed then A,A is sharp. In this paper we classify up to isomorphism the sharp tridiagonal pairs. As a corollary, we classify up to isomorphism the tridiagonal pairs over an algebraically closed field. We obtain these classifications by proving the μ-conjecture.  相似文献

We generalize the main theorem of Rieffel for Morita equivalence of W-algebras to the case of unital dual operator algebras: two unital dual operator algebras A,B have completely isometric normal representations α,β such that α(A)=[Mβ(B)M]w and β(B)=[Mα(A)M]w for a ternary ring of operators M (i.e. a linear space M such that MMMM) if and only if there exists an equivalence functor which “extends” to a ∗-functor implementing an equivalence between the categories and . By we denote the category of normal representations of A and by the category with the same objects as and Δ(A)-module maps as morphisms (Δ(A)=AA). We prove that this functor is equivalent to a functor “generated” by a B,A bimodule, and that it is normal and completely isometric.  相似文献

Let be the absolute Galois group of Q and let A=C(G,C) be the Banach algebra of all continuous functions defined on G with values in C. Let be the conjugation automorphism of C and let B be the R-Banach subalgebra of A consisting of continuous functions f such that for all σG. Let ‖x‖=sup{|σ(x)|:σG} be the spectral norm on and let be the spectral completion of . Using a canonical isometry between and B we study the structure of the group of R-algebras automorphisms of and the structure of its subgroup of all automorphisms of which when restricted to give rise to elements of G. We introduce a topology on and prove that this last one is homeomorphic and group isomorphic to G.  相似文献

A general notion of depth two for ring homomorphism NM is introduced. The step two centralizers A=EndNMN and in the Jones tower above NM are shown in a natural way via H-equivalence to be dual bimodules for Morita equivalent endomorphism rings, the step one and three centralizers, R=CM(N) and C=EndN-M(MNM). We show A and B to possess dual left and right R-bialgebroid structures which generalize Lu's fundamental bialgebroids over an algebra. There are actions of A and B on M and with Galois properties. If M|N is depth two and Frobenius with R a separable algebra, we show that A and B are dual weak Hopf algebras fitting into a duality-for-actions tower extending previous results in this area for subfactors and Frobenius extensions.  相似文献
