For any punctured category, a definition of a semidirect product and its dual counterpart, a semidirect sum, is given. Several examples are studied, among which are semidirect products of commutative Banach algebras and locally compact topological groups, and semidirect sums of compact Hausdorff spaces with basepoint. Let E be a symmetric space on [0,1]. Let (,E) be the space of measurable functions f such that fg E for every almost everywhere convergent series g=b n r n E, where (r n) are the Rademacher functions. It was shown that, for a broad class of spaces E, the space (,E) is not order isomorphic to a symmetric space, and we study the conditions under which such an isomorphism exists. We give conditions on E for (,E) to be order isomorphic to L . This includes some classes of Lorentz and Marcinkiewicz spaces. We also study the conditions under which (,E) is order isomorphic to a symmetric space that differs from L . The answer is positive for the Orlicz spaces E=L q with q(t)=exp|t|q-1 and 0相似文献

In the mid-1980s an equivalence was established between the simple closed geodesics on the Riemann surfaces obtained as quotients of the upper half plane H by any of the following subgroups of the modular group (1) : , (3), and 3. An axis of a hyperbolic element of (1) projects to a simple closed geodesic on one of these surfaces if and only if it does so on the other two.This equivalence was used to obtain a variety of Diophantine and geometric results. In subsequent related investigations, the role of (1) was assumed by the Hecke triangle group Gq for q 3. (For q = 3, we have (1) = G3.) These works employed the analog of 3, denoted q.In the context of the Gq, the present paper gives the analog of , which we denote q. As in the case q = 3, we have [q:q] = 2. A rather full discussion of geometry of q\ H is given. In particular, we demonstrate that the equivalence of simple closed geodesics on q\ H and q\ H does not hold for q 7.As of this writing, we have not been able to obtain an appropriate analog of (3).  相似文献

In 1987, Teirlinckproved that if t and are two integers such that v t(mod(t + 1)!(2t+1) and v t + 1 >0, then there exists a t - (v, t + 1, (t + 1)!(2t+1)) design. We prove that if there exists a (t+1)-(v,k,)design and a t-(v-1,k-2, (k-t-1)/(v-k+1))design with t 2, then there exists a t-(v+1,k, (v-t+1)(v-t)/ (v-k+1)(k-t))design. Using this recursive construction, we prove that forany pair (t,n) of integers (t 2and n 0), there exists a simple non trivial t-(v,k,) design having an automorphism groupisomorphic to n 2.  相似文献

Motivated by the known characterizations of equicontinuity in the dual of a Schwartz space, a nuclear space, or a strongly nuclear space,we introduce the concepts of a -sequence and of a ()-sequence in the dual of an arbitrary lcs [E,], and we investigate the corresponding topologies and () on E of uniform convergence on these sequences. Here is a normal sequence space such that . Under favorable enough conditions on , including the nuclearity of its normal topology , [,] acts as a universal generator for those lcs [E,] which satisfy =. Under somewhat weaker assumptions on , [,()] is a universal generator for the lcs [E,] with =(). These results cover e.g. the cases of -nuclear spaces and of nuclear spaces known from the recent literature. As an application we show that every non-trivial ultrabornological lcs is representable as an inductive limit of isomorphic copies of [, ( , )], where is any nuclear power series space of infinite type with stable exponent sequence.  相似文献

The difference sequence spaces (), c(), and c 0() were studied by Kzmaz. The main purpose of the present paper is to introduce the space bv p consisting of all sequences whose differences are in the space p , and to fill up the gap in the existing literature. Moreover, it is proved that the space bv p is the BK-space including the space p . We also show that the spaces bv p and p are linearly isomorphic for 1 p . Furthermore, the basis and the -, -, and -duals of the space bv p are determined and some inclusion relations are given. The last section of the paper is devoted to theorems on the characterization of the matrix classes (bv p : ), (bv : p ), and (bv p : 1), and the characterizations of some other matrix classes are obtained by means of a suitable relation.  相似文献

With a convex surface in space of constant curvature, we associate four numbers (,M,), where is the radius of a largerst sphere freely rolling over the interior side of , is the inradius of , M is the outradius of , and is the radius of a sphere over whose interior may roll freely. Let be a Cayley graph of a finitely generated group G. Subgraphs which contain all vertices of , have no cycles, and no finite connected components are called essential spanning forests. The set of all such subgraphs can be endowed with a compact topology, and G acts on by translations. We define a uniform G-invariant probability measure on show that is mixing, and give a sufficient condition for directional tail triviality. For non-cocompact Fuchsian groups we show how can be computed on cylinder sets. We obtain as a corollary, that the tail -algebra is trivial, and that the rate of convergence to mixing is exponential. The transfer-current function (an analogue to the Green function), is computed explicitly for the Modular and Hecke groups.  相似文献
