We establish a condition that guarantees isolation in the space of composition operators acting between Hp(BN) and Hq(BN), for 0 < p ≤ ∞, 0 < q < ∞, and N ≥ 1. This result will allow us, in certain cases where 0 < q < p ≤ ∞, completely to characterize the component structure of this space of operators.  相似文献

Let H be a complex Hilbert space of dimension greater than 2, and B(H) denote the Banach algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. For A, BB(H), define the binary relation A ≤* B by A*A = A*B and AA* = AB*. Then (B(H), “≤*”) is a partially ordered set and the relation “≤*” is called the star order on B(H). Denote by Bs(H) the set of all self-adjoint operators in B(H). In this paper, we first characterize nonlinear continuous bijective maps on B s (H) which preserve the star order in both directions. We characterize also additive maps (or linear maps) on B(H) (or nest algebras) which are multiplicative at some invertible operator.  相似文献

Let E, F be two Banach spaces, and B(E, F), Φ(E, F), SΦ(E, F) and R(E,F) be the bounded linear, Fredholm, semi-Frdholm and finite rank operators from E into F, respectively. In this paper, using the continuity characteristics of generalized inverses of operators under small perturbations, we prove the following result Let ∑ be any one of the following sets {T ∈ Φ(E, F) IndexT =const, and dim N(T) = const.}, {T ∈ SΦ(E, F) either dim N(T) = const. < ∞ or codim R(T) = const.< ∞} and {T ∈ R(E, F) RankT =const.<∞}. Then ∑ is a smooth submanifold of B(E, F) with the tangent space TA∑ = {B ∈ B(E,F) BN(A) (∪) R(A)} for any A ∈ ∑. The result is available for the further application to Thom's famous results on the transversility and the study of the infinite dimensional geometry.  相似文献

Let B be a Blaschke product with simple zeros in the unit disk, let Λ be the set of its zeros, and let ϕ∈H. It is known that ϕ+BH is a weak* generator of the algebra H/BH if (for B that satisfy the Carleson condition (C)) and only if the sequence ϕ(Λ) is a weak* generator of the algebra l. In this paper, we show that for any Blaschke product B with simple zeros that does not satisfy condition (C), there exists B=B1·…·BN, where N ∈ℕ, and B1, …, BN are Blaschke products satisfying condition (C), there exists a function ϕ∈H such that ϕ(Λ) is a weak* generator of the algebra l, and ϕ+BH is not a weak* generator of the algebra H/BH. The paper studies some bounded operators in the Banach spaces L (B) and L 1(B) over the unit ball B of ℂ n , the range of which are the corresponding holomorphic subspaces A (φ) and A 1(ϕ) depending on a normal pair of weight-functions {φ, ϕ}.  相似文献

Let B be the Brownian motion on a noncompact non Euclidean rank one symmetric space H. A typical examples is an hyperbolic space H n , n > 2. For ν > 0, the Brownian bridge B (ν) of length ν on H is the process B t , 0 ≤t≤ν, conditioned by B 0 = B ν = o, where o is an origin in H. It is proved that the process converges weakly to the Brownian excursion when ν→ + ∞ (the Brownian excursion is the radial part of the Brownian Bridge on ℝ3). The same result holds for the simple random walk on an homogeneous tree. Received: 4 December 1998 / Revised version: 22 January 1999  相似文献

We show that if A is a Hilbert–space operator, then the set of all projections onto hyperinvariant subspaces of A, which is contained in the von Neumann algebra υN(A) that is generated by A, is independent of the representation of υ N(A), thought of as an abstract W*–algebra. We modify a technique of Foias, Ko, Jung and Pearcy to get a method for finding nontrivial hyperinvariant subspaces of certain operators in finite von Neumann algebras. We introduce the B–circular operators as a special case of Speicher's B–Gaussian operators in free probability theory, and we prove several results about a B–circular operator z, including formulas for the B–valued Cauchy– and R–transforms of z*z. We show that a large class of L([0,1])–circular operators in finite von Neumann algebras have nontrivial hyperinvariant subspaces, and that another large class of them can be embedded in the free group factor L(F3). These results generalize some of what is known about the quasinilpotent DT–operator. Supported in part by NSF Grant DMS-0300336. with an Appendix by Gabriel Tucci  相似文献

We explore connections between Krein's spectral shift function ζ(λ,H 0, H) associated with the pair of self-adjoint operators (H 0, H),H=H 0+V, in a Hilbert spaceH and the recently introduced concept of a spectral shift operator Ξ(J+K *(H 0−λ−i0)−1 K) associated with the operator-valued Herglotz functionJ+K *(H 0−z)−1 K, Im(z)>0 inH, whereV=KJK * andJ=sgn(V). Our principal results include a new representation for ζ(λ,H 0,H) in terms of an averaged index for the Fredholm pair of self-adjoint spectral projections (E J+A(λ)+tB(λ)(−∞, 0)),E J((−∞, 0))), ℝ, whereA(λ)=Re(K *(H 0−λ−i0−1 K),B(λ)=Im(K *(H 0−λ-i0)−1 K) a.e. Moreover, introducing the new concept of a trindex for a pair of operators (A, P) inH, whereA is bounded andP is an orthogonal projection, we prove that ζ(λ,H 0, H) coincides with the trindex associated with the pair (Ξ(J+K *(H 0−λ−i0)K), Ξ(J)). In addition, we discuss a variant of the Birman-Krein formula relating the trindex of a pair of Ξ operators and the Fredholm determinant of the abstract scattering matrix. We also provide a generalization of the classical Birman—Schwinger principle, replacing the traditional eigenvalue counting functions by appropriate spectral shift functions.  相似文献

LetH be a complex Hilbert space and letB be the space of all bounded linear operators fromH intoH with the strong operator topology. We will give a boundedness result for the solutions of the differential equationx′=A(t)x+f(t,x) whereA: I=[t 0, ∞)→B is continuous,f: I×H→H is also continuous and for every bounded setS⊂I×H there exists a constantM(S)>0 such that |f(t,x)−f(t,y)|≤M(S)|x−y|,(t,x), (t,y)∈S.

Let H be an infinite dimensional complex Hilbert space. Denote by B(H) the algebra of all bounded linear operators on H, and by I(H) the set of all idempotents in B(H). Suppose that Φ is a surjective map from B(H) onto itself. If for every λ ∈ -1,1,2,3, and A, B ∈ B(H),ABI(H) ⇔ Φ(A) -λΦ(B) ∈I(H, then Φ is a Jordan ring automorphism, i.e. there exists a continuous invertible linear or conjugate linear operator T on H such that Φ(A) = TAT -1 for all AB(H), or Φ(A) = TA*T -1 for all AB(H); if, in addition, A-iB ∈I(H)⇔ Φ(A)-iΦ(B) ∈I(H), here i is the imaginary unit, then Φ is either an automorphism or an anti-automorphism.  相似文献

Let X be an RD-space, i.e., a space of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss, which has the reverse doubling property. Assume that X has a dimension n. For α∈ (0, ∞) denote by Hαp(X ), Hdp(X ), and H?,p(X ) the corresponding Hardy spaces on X defined by the nontangential maximal function, the dyadic maximal function and the grand maximal function, respectively. Using a new inhomogeneous Calder′on reproducing formula, it is shown that all these Hardy spaces coincide with Lp(X ) when p ∈ (1, ∞] a...  相似文献

In this paper we study the classical problem in turbulence for the magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) equations: whether the solutions (u (v),B (v)) of the viscous MHD equations tend to the solutions (u (0),B (v)) of the inviscid MHD equations as the Reynolds numbersRe, Rm → ∞. As a preparation we first derive bounds for ||(u (0),B (0)(t)||H m) (m ≥3) in terms of deformation tensor related quantities (0.1) {ie251-1} We then show that asRe → ∞ andRm → ∞, the difference {ie-251-2} {ie-251-3} converges to zero uniformly int as long as the quantities in (0.1) remain finite. The convergence rates are explicit. Supported by the NSF grant DMS 9304580 at IAS.  相似文献

A class of piecewise linear paths, as a generalization of Littelmann’s paths, are introduced, and some operators, acting on the above paths with fixed parametrization, are defined. These operators induce the ordinary Littelmann’s root operators’ action on the equi-alence classes of paths. With these induced operators, an explicit realization of B(∞) is given in terms of equivalence classes of paths, where B(∞) is the crystal base of the negative part of a quantum group U q (g). Furthermore, we conjecture that there is a complete set of representatives for the above model by fixing a parametrization, and we prove the case when g is of finite type.  相似文献

LetB be the unit ball ofC n , I give necessary conditions on sequenceS of points inB to beH (B) interpolating in term of aC n valued holomorphic function zero onS (a substitute for the interpolating Blaschke product). These conditions are sufficient to prove that the sequenceS is interpolating for ∩ p>1 (B) and is also interpolating forH p (B) for 1≤p<∞.  相似文献

For a locally compact group G, L^1 (G) is its group algebra and L^∞(G) is the dual of L^1 (G).Lau has studied the bounded linear operators T:L^∞(G)→L^∞(G) which commute with convolutions and translations. For a subspace H of L^∞(G), we know that M(L^∞(G),H), the Banach algebra of all bounded linear operators on L^∞(G) into H which commute with convolutions, has been studied by Pyre and Lau. In this paper, we generalize these problems to L(K)^*, the dual of a hypergroup algebra L(K) in a very general setting, i.e. we do not assume that K admits a Haar measure. It should be noted that these algebras include not only the group algebra L^1(G) but also most of the semigroup algebras.Compact hypergroups have a Haar measure, however, in general it is not known that every hypergroup has a Haar measure. The lack of the Haar measure and involution presents many difficulties; however,we succeed in getting some interesting results.  相似文献

Let H p, p ∈ (0, ∞], BMOA and B a, a ∈ (0, ∞) be the classical p-Hardy, analytic BMO(∂) (bounded mean oscillation on the unit circle) and a-Bloch space on the unit disk. In this paper, we prove that the Cesàro-type operator: C α, α ∈ (−1, ∞) is bounded on H p, p ∈ (0, ∞) and on B a, a ∈ (1, ∞), but, unbounded on H , BMOA and B a, a ∈ (0, 1]. In particular, we give an answer to the Stempak’s open problem.  相似文献

By considering all surfaces and their mapping class groups at once, it is shown that the classifying space of the stable mapping class group after plus construction, BΓ +, has the homotopy type of an infinite loop space. The main new tool is a generalized group completion theorem for simplicial categories. The first deloop of BΓ + coincides with that of Miller [M] induced by the pairs of pants multiplication. The classical representation of the mapping class group onto Siegel's modular group is shown to induce a map of infinite loop spaces from BΓ + to K-theory. It is then a direct consequence of a theorem by Charney and Cohen [CC] that there is a space Y such that BΓ +≃Im J (1/2)×Y, where Im J (1/2) is the image of J localized away from the prime 2. As is known, some results used for improving constants in the Lieb–Thirring inequalities for Schr?dinger operators in L 2(−∞, ∞) can be translated to discrete Schr?dinger operators and, more generally, to Jacobi matrices. We improve constants obtained earlier for Lieb–Thirring inequalities for the moments of eigenvalues larger than or equal to one. Bibliography: 9 titles.  相似文献

We study linear systems, described by operators A, B, C for which the state space X is a Banach space. We suppose that − A generates a bounded analytic semigroup and give conditions for admissibility of B and C corresponding to those in G. Weiss’ conjecture. The crucial assumptions on A are boundedness of an H-calculus or suitable square function estimates, allowing to use techniques recently developed by N. Kalton and L. Weis. For observation spaces Y or control spaces U that are not Hilbert spaces we are led to a notion of admissibility extending previous considerations by C. Le Merdy. We also obtain a characterisation of wellposedness for the full system. We give several examples for admissible operators including point observation and point control. At the end we study a heat equation in X = Lp(Ω), 1 < p < ∞, with boundary observation and control and prove its wellposedness for several function spaces Y and U on the boundary ∂Ω.  相似文献
