We establish a geometric lemma giving a list of equivalent conditions for some subsets of the plane. As its application, we get that various contractive conditions using the so-called altering distance functions coincide with classical ones. We consider several classes of mappings both on metric spaces and ordered metric spaces. In particular, we show that unexpectedly, some very recent fixed point theorems for generalized contractions on ordered metric spaces obtained by Harjani and Sadarangani [J. Harjani, K. Sadarangani, Generalized contractions in partially ordered metric spaces and applications to ordinary differential equations, Nonlinear Anal. 72 (2010) 1188-1197], and Amini-Harandi and Emami [A. Amini-Harandi, H. Emami A fixed point theorem for contraction type maps in partially ordered metric spaces and application to ordinary differential equations, Nonlinear Anal. 72 (2010) 2238-2242] do follow from an earlier result of O’Regan and Petru?el [D. O’Regan and A. Petru?el, Fixed point theorems for generalized contractions in ordered metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341 (2008) 1241-1252].  相似文献

Recently, Suzuki [T. Suzuki, A generalized Banach contraction principle that characterizes metric completeness, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 136 (2008) 1861-1869] proved a fixed point theorem that is a generalization of the Banach contraction principle and characterizes the metric completeness. In this paper we prove an analogous fixed point result for a self-mapping on a partial metric space or on a partially ordered metric space. Our results on partially ordered metric spaces generalize and extend some recent results of Ran and Reurings [A.C.M. Ran, M.C. Reurings, A fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets and some applications to matrix equations, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (2004) 1435-1443], Nieto and Rodríguez-López [J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Contractive mapping theorems in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Order 22 (2005) 223-239]. We deduce, also, common fixed point results for two self-mappings. Moreover, using our results, we obtain a characterization of partial metric 0-completeness in terms of fixed point theory. This result extends Suzuki?s characterization of metric completeness.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove some coupled fixed point theorems for mappings having a mixed monotone property in partially ordered metric spaces. The main results of this paper are generalizations of the main results of Bhaskar and Lakshmikantham [T. Gnana Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 65 (2006) 1379-1393]. As an application, we discuss the existence and uniqueness for a solution of a nonlinear integral equation.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a notion of coincidence point between mappings in any number of variables and we prove some existence and uniqueness fixed point theorems for nonlinear mappings verifying different kinds of contractive conditions and defined on partially ordered metric spaces. These theorems extend and clarify very recent results that can be found in [T. Gnana-Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications, Nonlinear Anal. 65 (7)(2006) 1379–1393], [V. Berinde, M. Borcut, Tripled fixed point theorems for contractive type mappings in partially ordered metric spaces, Nonlinear Anal. 74 (2011) 4889–4897] and [M. Berzig, B. Samet, An extension of coupled fixed point’s concept in higher dimension and applications, Comput. Math. Appl. 63 (8) (2012) 1319–1334].  相似文献

We develop the Hutchinson-Barnsley theory for finite families of mappings on a metric space endowed with a directed graph. In particular, our results subsume a classical theorem of J.E. Hutchinson [J.E. Hutchinson, Fractals and self-similarity, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 30 (1981) 713-747] on the existence of an invariant set for an iterated function system of Banach contractions, and a theorem of L. Máté [L. Máté, The Hutchinson-Barnsley theory for certain non-contraction mappings, Period. Math. Hungar. 27 (1993) 21-33] concerning finite families of locally uniformly contractions introduced by Edelstein. Also, they generalize recent fixed point theorems of A.C.M. Ran and M.C.B. Reurings [A.C.M. Ran, M.C.B. Reurings, A fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets and some applications to matrix equations, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (2004) 1435-1443], J.J. Nieto and R. Rodríguez-López [J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Contractive mapping theorems in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Order 22 (2005) 223-239; J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Existence and uniqueness of fixed point in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Acta Math. Sin. (Engl. Ser.) 23 (2007) 2205-2212], and A. Petru?el and I.A. Rus [A. Petru?el, I.A. Rus, Fixed point theorems in ordered L-spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 134 (2006) 411-418] for contractive mappings on an ordered metric space. As an application, we obtain a theorem on the convergence of infinite products of linear operators on an arbitrary Banach space. This result yields new generalizations of the Kelisky-Rivlin theorem on iterates of the Bernstein operators on the space C[0,1] as well as its extensions given recently by H. Oruç and N. Tuncer [H. Oruç, N. Tuncer, On the convergence and iterates of q-Bernstein polynomials, J. Approx. Theory 117 (2002) 301-313], and H. Gonska and P. Pi?ul [H. Gonska, P. Pi?ul, Remarks on an article of J.P. A note on cone metric fixed point theory and its equivalence   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The main aim of this paper is to investigate the equivalence of vectorial versions of fixed point theorems in generalized cone metric spaces and scalar versions of fixed point theorems in (general) metric spaces (in usual sense). We show that the Banach contraction principles in general metric spaces and in TVS-cone metric spaces are equivalent. Our theorems also extend some results in Huang and Zhang (2007) [L.-G. Huang, X. Zhang, Cone metric spaces and fixed point theorems of contractive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 332 (2007) 1468-1476], Rezapour and Hamlbarani (2008) [Sh. Rezapour, R. Hamlbarani, Some notes on the paper Cone metric spaces and fixed point theorems of contractive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 345 (2008) 719-724] and others.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the concept of tripled fixed point for nonlinear mappings in partially ordered complete metric spaces and obtain existence, and existence and uniqueness theorems for contractive type mappings. Our results generalize and extend recent coupled fixed point theorems established by Gnana Bhaskar and Lakshmikantham [T. Gnana Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications, Nonlinear Anal. 65 (7) (2006) 1379-1393]. Examples to support our new results are given.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to establish some common fixed point theorems under strict contractive conditions for mappings satisfying the property (E.A) in Menger probabilistic metric spaces. As applications, we obtain the corresponding common fixed point theorems under strict contractive in metric spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish two coupled fixed point theorems for multi-valued nonlinear contraction mappings in partially ordered metric spaces. The theorems presented extend some results due to ?iri? (2009) [3]. An example is given to illustrate the usability of our results.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the notion of compatibility of mappings in a partially ordered metric space and use this notion to establish a coupled coincidence point result. Our work extends the work of Bhaskar and Lakshmikantham [T. Gnana Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 65 (2006) 1379-1393]. An example is also given.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of a mixed g-monotone mapping and prove coupled coincidence and coupled common fixed point theorems for such nonlinear contractive mappings in partially ordered complete metric spaces. Presented theorems are generalizations of the recent fixed point theorems due to Bhaskar and Lakshmikantham [T.G. Bhaskar, V. Lakshmikantham, Fixed point theorems in partially ordered metric spaces and applications, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 65 (2006) 1379–1393] and include several recent developments.  相似文献

We derive some new coincidence and common fixed point theorems for self-mappings satisfying a generalized contractive condition in partially ordered metric spaces. As applications of the presented theorems, we obtain fixed point results for generalized contraction of integral type and we prove an existence theorem for solutions of a system of integral equations.  相似文献

We introduce some notions of generalized nonlinear contractive maps and prove some fixed point results for such maps. Consequently, several known fixed point results are either improved or generalized including the corresponding recent fixed point results of Ciric [L.B. Ciric, Multivalued nonlinear contraction mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 71 (2009) 2716-2723], Klim and Wardowski [D. Klim, D. Wardowski, Fixed point theorems for set-valued contractions in complete metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl.

In this paper, an existence result for perturbed abstract measure differential equations is proved via hybrid fixed point theorems of Dhage [B.C. Dhage, On some nonlinear alternatives of Leray-Schauder type and functional integral equations, Arch. Math. (Brno) 42 (2006) 11-23] under the mixed generalized Lipschitz and Carathéodory conditions. The existence of the extremal solutions is also proved under certain monotonicity conditions and using a hybrid fixed point theorem of Dhage given in the above-mentioned reference, on ordered Banach spaces. Our existence results include the existence results of Sharma [R.R. Sharma, An abstract measure differential equation, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 32 (1972) 503-510], Joshi [S.R. Joshi, A system of abstract measure delay differential equations, J. Math. Phy. Sci. 13 (1979) 497-506] and Shendge and Joshi [G.R. Shendge, S.R. Joshi, Abstract measure differential inequalities and applications, Acta Math. Hung. 41 (1983) 53-54] as special cases under weaker continuity condition.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove some coupled coincidence point theorems for such nonlinear contraction mappings having a mixed monotone property in partially ordered metric spaces by dropping the condition of commutative. We also prove coupled common fixed point theorem for w-compatible mappings. An example of a nonlinear contraction mapping which is not applied by Lakshmikantham and ?iri?’s theorem [1] but applied by our result is given. Further, we apply our results to the existence theorem for solution of nonlinear integral equations.  相似文献
