Suppose that A is a presheaf of categories enriched in simplicial sets on a small Grothendieck site. It is shown that the homotopy theory of enriched A-diagrams of equivalences taking values in simplicial sets can be identified with the homotopy theory of simplicial presheaves fibred over the diagonalized nerve dBA of A. The set [*,dBA] of morphisms in the simplicial presheaf homotopy category is identified with the set of path components of a category of A-torsors, for a suitable definition of A-torsor. These statements are special cases of localized results which hold when the corresponding localized model structures are proper. Examples of the latter include the motivic homotopy category, and so these results lead to a theory of motivic A-torsors which is classifiable up to equivalence by a family of morphisms in the motivic homotopy category. For fields of characteristic zero, we show that the homotopy category of modules over the motivic ring spectrum representing motivic cohomology is equivalent to Voevodsky's big category of motives. The proof makes use of some highly structured models for motivic stable homotopy theory, motivic Spanier-Whitehead duality, the homotopy theories of motivic functors and of motivic spaces with transfers as introduced from ground up in this paper. Working with rational coefficients, we extend the equivalence for fields of characteristic zero to all perfect fields by employing the techniques of alterations and homotopy purity in motivic homotopy theory.  相似文献

The motivic homotopy categories can be defined with respect to different topologies and different underlying categories of schemes. For a number of reasons (mainly because of the Gluing Theorem) the motivic homotopy category of smooth schemes with respect to the Nisnevich topology plays a distinguished role but in some cases it is desirable to be able to work with all schemes instead of the smooth ones. In this paper we prove that, under the resolution of singularities assumption, the unstable motivic homotopy category of all schemes over a field with respect to the cdh-topology is almost equivalent to the unstable motivic homotopy category of smooth schemes over the same field with respect to the Nisnevich topology.  相似文献

Given any model category, or more generally any category with weak equivalences, its simplicial localization is a simplicial category which can rightfully be called the “homotopy theory” of the model category. There is a model category structure on the category of simplicial categories, so taking its simplicial localization yields a “homotopy theory of homotopy theories”. In this paper we show that there are two different categories of diagrams of simplicial sets, each equipped with an appropriate definition of weak equivalence, such that the resulting homotopy theories are each equivalent to the homotopy theory arising from the model category structure on simplicial categories. Thus, any of these three categories with the respective weak equivalences could be considered a model for the homotopy theory of homotopy theories. One of them in particular, Rezk’s complete Segal space model category structure on the category of simplicial spaces, is much more convenient from the perspective of making calculations and therefore obtaining information about a given homotopy theory.  相似文献

For any prime q and positive integer t, we construct a spectrum k(t) in the stable homotopy category of schemes over a field k equipped with an embedding k↪ℂ. In classical homotopy theory, the ℂ realization of k(t) is known as Morava K-theory. The algebraic content lies in the fact that these spectra are defined as the homotopy limit of a tower whose cofibers are appropriate suspensions of the motivic Eilenberg-MacLane spectra, which are known to represent motivic cohomology in the stable homotopy category of schemes. Quillen showed that simplicial sets form a model category (with appropriate choices of three classes of morphisms), which organized the homotopy theory of simplicial sets. His proof is very difficult and uses even the classification theory of principal bundles. Thus, Goerss–Jardine appealed to topological methods for the verification. In this paper we give a new proof of this organizing theorem of simplicial homotopy theory which is elementary in the sense that it does not use the classifying theory of principal bundles or appeal to topological methods.  相似文献

In this paper we prove two theorems which resemble the classical cohomological and homological Brown representability theorems. The main difference is that our results classify contravariant functors from spaces to spaces up to weak equivalence of functors. In more detail, we show that every contravariant functor from spaces to spaces which takes coproducts to products up to homotopy, and takes homotopy pushouts to homotopy pullbacks is naturally weakly equivalent to a representable functor. The second representability theorem states: every contravariant continuous functor from the category of finite simplicial sets to simplicial sets taking homotopy pushouts to homotopy pullbacks is equivalent to the restriction of a representable functor. This theorem may be considered as a contravariant analog of Goodwillie’s classification of linear functors [14].  相似文献

It is now well known that the K-theory of a Waldhausen category depends on more than just its (triangulated) homotopy category (Invent. Math. 150 (2002) 111). The purpose of this note is to show that the K-theory spectrum of a (good) Waldhausen category is completely determined by its Dwyer-Kan simplicial localization, without any additional structure. As the simplicial localization is a refined version of the homotopy category which also determines the triangulated structure, our result is a possible answer to the general question: “To which extent K-theory is not an invariant of triangulated derived categories? ”  相似文献

It is usual to use algebraic models for homotopy types. Simplicial groupoids provide such a model. Other partial models include the crossed complexes of Brown and Higgins. In this paper, the simplicial groupoids that correspond to crossed complexes are shown to form a variety within the category of all simplicial groupoids and the corresponding verbal subgroupoid is identified.  相似文献

We say that a model category is left-determined if the weak equivalences are generated (in a sense specified below) by the cofibrations. While the model category of simplicial sets is not left-determined, we show that its non-oriented variant, the category of symmetric simplicial sets (in the sense of Lawvere and Grandis) carries a natural left-determined model category structure. This is used to give another and, as we believe simpler, proof of a recent result of D. Dugger about universal homotopy theories.

In this Note we summarize the main results and techniques in our homotopical algebraic approach to motives. A major part of this work relies on highly structured models for motivic stable homotopy theory. For any noetherian and separated base scheme of finite Krull dimension these frameworks give rise to a homotopy theoretic meaningful study of modules over motivic cohomology. When the base scheme is Spec(k), for k a field of characteristic zero, the corresponding homotopy category is equivalent to Voevodsky's big category of motives. To cite this article: O. Röndigs, P.A. The settings for homotopical algebra—categories such as simplicial groups, simplicial rings, AA spaces, EE ring spectra, etc.—are often equivalent to categories of algebras over some monad or triple T. In such cases, T is acting on a nice simplicial model category in such a way that T descends to a monad on the homotopy category and defines a category of homotopy T-algebras. Suppose that M is a simplicial model category and that F is a contravariant simplicial functor defined on M which takes values in pointed simplicial sets. This note displays conditions on the simplicial model category M and the functor F such that F is representable up to weak equivalence. The conditions on F are homotopy coherent versions of the classical conditions for Brown representability, while M should have the fundamental properties of the stable model structure for presheaves of spectra on a Grothendieck site.  相似文献

The notion of a differential module with homotopy simplicial faces is introduced, which is a homotopy analog of the notion of a differential module with simplicial faces. The homotopy invariance of the structure of a differential module with homotopy simplicial faces is proved. Relationships between the construction of a differential module with homotopy simplicial faces and the theories of A -algebras and D -differential modules are found. Applications of the method of homotopy simplicial faces to describing the homology of realizations of simplicial topological spaces are presented.  相似文献
