Diode-pumped passively mode-locked Nd:Lu0.15Y0.85VO4 laser with a single-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber was demonstrated for the first time, to our best knowledge. The laser generated 19-ps pulses with maximum output power of 902 mW for the incident pump power of 6.5 W at the central wavelength of 1064 nm, giving an optical conversion efficiency of 14%. The continuous wave mode-locking conditions of single-walled carbon nanotube saturable absorber were analyzed and discussed.  相似文献

We describe a continuous-wave, low-threshold Tm:YAlO3 (Tm:YAP) laser operating at 1945 nm with incident threshold pump powers in the 10–20 mW range. The z-cavity containing a 2-mm-long Tm:YAP crystal with 4 at.% Tm3+ concentration was end pumped by a continuous-wave Ti:sapphire laser at 795 nm. Tight focusing of the pump and the laser beams enabled low-threshold operation. The power performance of two different cavity configurations with 5-cm radius (R = 5 cm cavity) and 10-cm radius (R = 10 cm cavity) curved mirrors was tested. The best performance was obtained with the R = 10 cm configuration, where, the incident threshold pump power could be lowered to 10 mW after optimizing the polarization direction of the pump beam and by employing double pumping. Theoretical estimation of the threshold power was in good agreement with the experimental observations. The laser could be further tuned from 1842 to 1994 nm.  相似文献

Efficient eye-safe 1.6 μm monolithic laser was realized in a c-cut, 0.7-mm-thick Er3+:Yb3+:YAl3(BO3)4 microchip end-pumped by a quasi-continuous-wave 970 nm diode laser. At incident pump peak power of 20.4 W, a maximum output peak power of 2.6 W with a slope efficiency of 19% was obtained when the waist radius of pump laser beam was 220 μm. The spectra and profiles of output beam of the Er3+:Yb3+:YAl3(BO3)4 monolithic laser were measured. The influences of the waist radius of pump laser beam on the slope efficiency and threshold of the monolithic laser were also investigated.  相似文献

A 1.94 μm Tm-doped fiber laser pumped tunable single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YLF laser with double etalons was reported for the first time. The maximum single-longitudinal-mode output power of 345 mW at 2051.6 nm was achieved at the absorbed pump power of 11.9 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 5.5% and an optical conversion efficiency of 2.9%. By regulating the angle of the F–P etalons, the output wavelength of the laser can be tuned from 2051.6 nm to 2063.3 nm. The single-longitude-mode Ho:YLF laser operating at 2 μm can be used as the seed laser source of coherent Doppler lidar, differential absorption lidar and so on.  相似文献

We report a unidirectional single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YLF ring laser. An acousto-optic modulator and two half-wave plates were used to enforce the Ho:YLF ring laser in a unidirectional operation. The single-longitudinal-mode output power could reach 3.73 W successfully when the incident pump power was 16.4 W. The corresponding slope efficiency was 27.1%. The wavelength of the single-longitudinal-mode Ho:YLF ring laser was 2063.8 nm. The M2 factor was 1.12. The results illustrated that the single-longitudinal-mode output power could be further enhanced by increasing the radio frequency power of the acousto-optic modulator.  相似文献

An LD end-pumped Nd:YAG/SrWO4 continuous-wave 560 nm laser is presented based on intracavity sum-frequency mixing of the fundamental and first-Strokes light. The maximum output power of 330 mW at 559.6 nm was obtained for the diode pump power of 13.7 W and the conversion efficiency was about 2.5%. The intense blue emission was also observed in the SrWO4 crystal when the Raman laser was operating above threshold. This blue emission is centered at 473 nm, which also happened to YVO4.  相似文献

We demonstrate a 980 nm single-mode Yb-doped fiber laser with a 946 nm Q-switched Nd:YAG laser used as the pump source. The experimental arrangement exploited a 36.5 cm length of fiber and used the output from both ends of the cavity, providing a total average output power of 100 mW with a slope efficiency of 38%. In order to increase the coupling efficiency and the practicability of the fiber laser, another experimental setup with single ended output was studied, producing an average output power of 80 mW from a fiber length of 23.5 cm. The pulse duration is 10 ns at a repetition frequency of 16 kHz. The linewidth of the laser is 4 nm, ranging from 977 to 981 nm.  相似文献

A high-power Er,Yb double-clad ribbon fiber laser pumped by a 9-diode-bar pump module is reported. The laser yielded 102 W of continuous-wave output at 1566 nm for a launched pump power of 244 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of ~ 44% with respect to launched pump power. Tunable operation was achieved using a simple external feedback cavity with a diffraction grating and the operating wavelength could be tuned from 1533 nm to 1567 nm. Temperature distribution in the ribbon fiber geometry and prospects of power scaling will be discussed.  相似文献

We report on a LD-end-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG ceramic laser by using a novel single wall carbon nanotube saturable absorber (SWCNT-SA). The SWCNT wafer was fabricated by electric Arc discharge method on quartz substrate with absorption wavelength of 1064 nm. We firstly investigated the continuous wave (CW) laser performance and scattering properties of Nd:YAG ceramic sample. For the case of passively Q-switched operation, a maximum output power of 376 mW was obtained at an incident pump power of 8.68 W at 808 nm, corresponding to an optical–optical conversion efficiency of 4.3%. The repetition rate as the increase of pump power varied from 14 to 95 kHz. The minimum pulse duration of 1.2 μs and maximum pulse energy of 4.5 μJ was generated at a repetition rate of 31.8 kHz.  相似文献

We present a 2.09 μm single-longitudinal-mode sandwich-type YAG/Ho:YAG/YAG ceramic laser pumped by a Tm-doped fiber laser for the first time. A pair of F-P etalons was used to achieve tunable single-longitudinal-mode operation. The maximum single-longitudinal-mode output power of 530 mW at 2091.4 nm was obtained with an absorbed pump power of 8.06 W, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 6.6% and a slope efficiency of 12.7%. Wavelength tunable was achieved by tuning the angle of etalons and the wavelength could be tuned from 2091.1 nm to 2092.1 nm, corresponding to a tuning frequency of 68 GHz. The M2 factor was measured to be 1.23.  相似文献

A LuAG shaped rod crystal, doped with Yb3+, has been grown by μ-PD technique. The crystal diameter was about 3 mm and the length around 130 mm. A complete spectroscopic investigation in the temperature range 10–300 K is reported and data has been utilized to model the laser behavior. In the laser experiment the Yb:LuAG sample was placed in an X cavity and pumped longitudinally obtaining an efficient CW laser emission. The Yb:LuAG laser yielded a maximum output power of 23 mW with a slope efficiency of 32% and a threshold around 35 mW, at lasing wavelength of 1030 nm. No significant depolarization effects were observed, indicating a crystal growth with negligible stress. The output beam profile was investigated, yielding M2  1.0 in both directions, further confirming the good optical quality of the sample.  相似文献

We demonstrate the first quasi-CW (ms-long pulses, pump duty cycle of 10%) end-diode pumped solid state laser generating eye-safe radiation via intracavity Raman conversion. The output power at the first Stokes wavelength (1524 nm) was 250 mW. A theoretical model was applied to analyze the laser system and provide routes for optimization. The possibility of true CW operation was discussed.  相似文献

A low threshold Cr:LiSAF laser pumped with an inexpensive single-mode laser diode emitting 120 mW was passively mode-locked with a novel ultrafast saturable absorber mirror based on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT-SAM). Pulses as short as 122 fs were achieved, tunable across 14 nm. A second pump diode coupled in polarization allowed to shorten the pulse duration to 106 fs, with up to 24-mW output power.  相似文献

A passively Q-switched a-cut Nd:GdVO4 self-Raman solid-state laser with Cr:YAG saturable absorber was firstly demonstrated. The first Stokes at 1173 nm was successfully obtained. At the maximum incident pump power, the pulse width was about 1.8 ns and the repetition rate was 27.5 kHz. 586.5 nm yellow laser output was also realized by use of an LBO frequency doubling crystal.  相似文献

A mini eye-safe KTiAsO4 intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO) employing the shared cavity configuration and driven by a diode-end-pumped composite Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG laser is demonstrated in this paper. Under an incident laser diode power of 11 W, a maximum average output power of 424 mW at 1534 nm was obtained. The corresponding signal pulse width and repetition rate were 1.2 ns and 16.7 kHz, respectively. The fluctuation of the average signal output power over long-term operation was found to be ±3.0%. A theoretical model for the compact IOPO was also presented in this paper.  相似文献

We demonstrate graphene mode-locked nanosecond erbium-doped fiber laser in an all-fiber ring cavity. The clean and robust pulse train was generated at 27 mW pump power. Resultant central wavelength, repetition rate and pulse width was 1560 nm, 388 kHz and 6 ns, respectively. With two stage fiber amplifier, the output power was 553 mW, corresponding to single pulse energy of 1.4 μJ. In addition, the pulse-width can be varied ranging from 3 ns to 20 ns at repetition rate between 200 kHz and 1.54 MHz by changing the length of the laser cavity.  相似文献

In this work, we experimentally demonstrate an efficient cw second harmonic generation (SHG) at 780 nm wavelength with a first-order type-I phase matching periodically poled KTP (PPKTP) crystal in a ring cavity, the wavelength corresponds to the D2 line of Rb atom transition. The fundamental laser used is a grating-stabilized external cavity diode laser and its frequency is precisely locked to Rb atom transition frequency using the saturated absorption technique. About maximal 6.9 mW UV radiation of 390 nm with a net conversion of 9.5% at an input mode-matched power of 73 mW is generated with one crystal, and about maximal 8.8 mW with the net conversion of 12% is obtained with another crystal; the powers in stable operation are about 1.7 mW and 3.4 mW, respectively. This is, to our best knowledge, the first SHG experiment at 780 nm wavelength with the PPKTP in a ring cavity.  相似文献

We demonstrate the first Cr4+:YAG passively Q-switched c-cut Nd:YVO4 self-Raman laser at 1168.6 nm based on the Stokes shift of 816 cm−1. At the pump power of 4.7 W, the maximum output power of the Stokes line at 1168.6 nm is 270.5 mW, corresponding to an optical conversion efficiency of 5.8%. The pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power are 8.8 ns, 35.8 kHz, 7.6 μJ and 0.86 kW, respectively. At the pump of 5.0 W, the Stokes line at 1097.2 nm based on Raman shift of 259 cm−1 also appears.  相似文献

A compact erbium-doped ring-shaped fiber laser suitable for fiber-optic sensing applications has been developed. The fiber laser utilized a tunable fiber Fabry–Perot filter as the tuning element and had a moderate milli-Watt level power output over almost the whole tuning range from 1530 to 1595 nm with a power fluctuation of 0.15 dB. High repetition rate scanning of laser operation over the whole tuning range was achieved at rates of up to 200 Hz. Moreover, the performance of the ring-shaped fiber laser configured with a high-concentration erbium-doped fiber was investigated for its larger wavelength tunability of over 100 nm. Output power characteristics of this ring-shaped fiber laser were also investigated when it worked in a scanning mode. A distorted power wavelength dependence, as well as some pulsing phenomenon were observed in scanning mode.  相似文献
