We analyze the spectrum of excitations around the Gubser-Klebanov-Polyakov (GKP) rotating string in the long string limit and construct a parametric representation for their dispersion relations at any value of the string tension. On the gauge theory side of the AdS/CFT correspondence, i.e., in the planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory, the problem is equivalent to finding the spectrum of scaling dimensions of large spin, single-trace operators. Their scaling dimensions are obtained from the analysis of the Beisert-Staudacher asymptotic Bethe ansatz equations, which are believed to solve the spectral problem of the planar gauge theory. We examine the resulting dispersion relations in various kinematical regimes, both at weak and strong coupling, and detail the matching with the Frolov-Tseytlin spectrum of transverse fluctuations of the long GKP string. At a more dynamical level, we identify the mechanism for the restoration of the SO(6) symmetry, initially broken by the choice of the Berenstein-Maldacena-Nastase vacuum in the Bethe ansatz solution to the mixing problem.  相似文献

Using an exact Bethe ansatz solution, we rigorously study excitation spectra of the spin-1/2 Fermi gas (called Yang–Gaudin model) with an attractive interaction. Elementary excitations of this model involve particle-hole excitation, hole excitation and adding particles in the Fermi seas of pairs and unpaired fermions. The gapped magnon excitations in the spin sector show a ferromagnetic coupling to the Fermi sea of the single fermions. By numerically and analytically solving the Bethe ansatz equations and the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations of this model, we obtain excitation energies for various polarizations in the phase of the Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov-like state. For a small momentum (long-wavelength limit) and in the strong interaction regime, we analytically obtained their linear dispersions with curvature corrections, effective masses as well as velocities in particle-hole excitations of pairs and unpaired fermions. Such a type of particle-hole excitations display a novel separation of collective motions of bosonic modes within paired and unpaired fermions. Finally, we also discuss magnon excitations in the spin sector and the application of Bragg spectroscopy for testing such separated charge excitation modes of pairs and single fermions.  相似文献

We investigate the quantum phase diagram of the exactly solved mixed spin-(1/2,1) ladder via the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA). In the absence of a magnetic field the model exhibits three quantum phases associated with su(2), su(4), and su(6) symmetries. In the presence of a strong magnetic field, there is a third and full saturation magnetization plateaux within the strong antiferromagnetic rung coupling regime. Gapless and gapped phases appear in turn as the magnetic field increases. For weak rung coupling, the fractional magnetization plateau vanishs and the model undergoes new quantum phase transitions. However, in the ferromagnetic coupling regime, the system does not have a third saturation magnetization plateau. The critical behaviour in the vicinity of the critical points is also derived systematically using the TBA.  相似文献

We review the computation of the anomalous dimension of twist operators in the planar limit of ${\mathcal{N}=4}$ SYM using the asymptotic Bethe ansatz and demonstrate how this quantity is obtained at weak, strong and intermediate values of the coupling constant. The anomalous dimension of twist operators in the limit of large Lorentz spin played a major role in the construction as well as in many tests of the asymptotic Bethe equations; this aspect of the story is emphasized.  相似文献

We present the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz as a way to factorize the partition function of a 2d field theory, in particular, a conformal field theory and we compare it with another approach to factorization due to Schoutens which consists of diagonalizing matrix recursion relations between the partition functions at consecutive levels. We prove that both are equivalent, taking as examples the SU(2) spinons and the 3-state Potts model. In the latter case we see that there are two different thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equation systems with the same physical content, of which the second is new and corresponds to a one-quasiparticle representation, as opposed to the usual two-quasiparticle representation. This new thermodynamic Bethe ansatz system leads to a new dilogarithmic formula for the central charge of that model.  相似文献

The crossover from Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer (BCS) superfluid with singlet pairs to Bose–Einstein condensation (BEC) of molecules is studied in one dimension. By use of the nested Bethe ansatz method, the ground state properties of spin-1/2 fermions interacting through attractive δ-function are analyzed explicitly for strong and weak couplings. Based on those results, we confirm a crossover picture, that is, in the BEC regime (strong couplings) the system is described by molecules with weak repulsion while in the BCS regime (weak couplings) it behaves as the weakly attractive fermions.  相似文献

The low-energy properties of the one-dimensional anyon gas with a delta-function interaction are discussed in the context of its Bethe ansatz solution. It is found that the anyonic statistical parameter and the dynamical coupling constant induce Haldane exclusion statistics interpolating between bosons and fermions. Moreover, the anyonic parameter may trigger statistics beyond Fermi statistics for which the exclusion parameter alpha is greater than one. The Tonks-Girardeau and the weak coupling limits are discussed in detail. The results support the universal role of alpha in the dispersion relations.  相似文献

For the Bariev model for correlated hopping in one dimension under open boundary conditions, the Bethe ansatz equations are analyzed for both a repulsive and an attractive interaction in several limiting cases, i.e., the ground state, the weak and strong coupling limits. The contributions of the boundary fields to both the magnetic susceptibility and the specific heat are obtained.  相似文献

The integrable open-boundary conditions for the model of three coupled one-dimensional XY spin chains are considered in the framework of the quantum inverse scattering method. The diagonal boundary K-matrices are found and a class of integrable boundary terms is determined. The boundary model Hamiltonian is solved by using the coordinate space Bethe ansatz technique and Bethe ansatz equations are derived.  相似文献

We investigate the ground-state properties of a one-dimensional spin-1/2 fermionic atoms interacting through the attractive δ-function potential in an external magnetic field. By the thermal Bethe ansatz method, the integral equations for the dressed energies are formulated. Those integral equations at zero-temperature are solved in the power series forms of rapidity and momentum for both strong and weak coupling cases. The magnetization as a function of the coupling constant and the external field is also obtained explicitly. Based on the analytic results, quantum phase transitions are identified among three phases, an unpolarized fully paired state, a fully polarized normal ferromagnetic state and a mixed state of paired and unpaired atoms.  相似文献

We solve the gl(1|2) generalized model by means of the algebraic Bethe ansatz. The resulting eigenvalue of the transfer matrix and the Bethe ansatz equations depend on three complex functions, called the parameters of the generalized model. Specifying the parameters appropriately, we obtain the Bethe ansatz equations of the supersymmetric t-J model, the Hubbard model, or of Yang's model of electrons with delta interaction. This means that the Bethe ansatz equations of these (and many other) models can be obtained from a common algebraic source, namely from the Yang–Baxter algebra generated by the gl(1|2) invariant R-matrix.  相似文献

The semi-classical limit of the algebraic Bethe ansatz method is used to solve the theory of Gaudin models. Via off-shell Bethe ansatz method we find the spectra and eigenvectors of the N−1 independents Gaudin Hamiltonians with symmetry osp(2∣1). We also show how the off-shell Gaudin equation solves the trigonometric Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equation.  相似文献

We investigate the algebraic structure of a recently proposed integrable t-J model with impurities. Three forms of the Bethe ansatz equations are presented corresponding to the three choices for the grading. We prove that the Bethe ansatz states are highest weight vectors of the underlying gl(2′1) supersymmetry algebra. By acting with the gl(2′1) generators we construct a complete set of states for the model.  相似文献

We analyse the Bethe ansatz equations of the XXZ model in the antiferromagnetic region, without assuming a priori the existence of strings. Excited states are described by a finite number of parameters. These parameters satisfy a closed system of equations, which we obtain by eliminating the parameters of the vacuum from the original Bethe ansatz equations. Strings are only particular solutions of these equations.  相似文献

An integrable Kondo problem in the one-dimensional supersymmetric t-J model is studied by means of the boundary supersymmetric quantum inverse scattering method. the boundary K matrices depending on the local moments of the impurities are presented as a nontrivial realization of the graded reflection equation algebras in a two-dimensional impurity Hilbert space. Further, the model is solved by using the algebraic Bethe ansatz method and the Bethe ansatz equations are obtained.  相似文献

The integrable open-boundary conditions for the Bariev model of three coupled one-dimensional XY spin chains are studied in the framework of the boundary quantum inverse scattering method. Three kinds of diagonal boundary K-matrices leading to nine classes of possible choices of boundary fields are found and the corresponding integrable boundary terms are presented explicitly. The boundary Hamiltonian is solved by using the coordinate Bethe ansatz technique and the Bethe ansatz equations are derived.  相似文献

The statistical properties of a two-dimensional lattice of elastic lines in a random medium are studied using the Bethe ansatz. We present a novel mapping of the dilute random line lattice onto the weak coupling limit of a pure Bose gas with delta-function interactions. Using this mapping, we calculate the cumulants of the free energy in the dilute limit exactly. The relation between density and displacement correlation functions in the two models is examined and compared with existing results from renormalization group and variational ansätze.  相似文献

The low-energy physics of a spin- Kondo impurity in a gapless host, in which the density of band states ρ0(ε)=|ε|r/(|ε|rr) vanishes at the Fermi level ε=0, is studied by the Bethe ansatz. It is shown that the growth of the parameter Γr=βg−1/r (where g is an exchange coupling constant) drives the ground state of the system from the Kondo regime with a screened impurity spin to the Anderson regime, where the impurity spin is unscreened. However, in a weak magnetic field H, the impurity spin exceeds its free value, , due to a strong coupling to a band.  相似文献

We consider the algebraic Bethe ansatz solution of the integrable and isotropic XXX-S Heisenberg chain with non-diagonal open boundaries. We show that the corresponding K-matrices are similar to diagonal matrices with the help of suitable transformations independent of the spectral parameter. When the boundary parameters satisfy certain constraints we are able to formulate the diagonalization of the associated double-row transfer matrix by means of the quantum inverse scattering method. This allows us to derive explicit expressions for the eigenvalues and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations. We also present evidences that the eigenvectors can be build up in terms of multiparticle states for arbitrary S.  相似文献
