Copper(II) complexes between three 4-formylantipyrine N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones and four copper(II) salts have been prepared and characterized. I.r., electronic and e.s.r. spectra of the complexes, as well as i.r., electronic and 1H and 13C-n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones, have been obtained. Both mononuclear and binuclear complexes have been formed with bridging ligands for the latter, being either chloro or acetato. The stoichiometries of the complexes are dependent on both the steric requirements of the thiosemicarbazone ligands and the electronic effects of their N(4)-substituents.  相似文献

Nickel(II) complexes with five 4-acetamidobenzaldehyde N(4)- substituted thiosemicarbazones have been prepared in EtOH solution and characterized by physical and spectral methods. N.m.r., i.r. and electronic spectra of the thiosemicarbazones and their complexes, along with physical properties of the complexes, have been recorded. These thiosemicarbazones coordinate as anionic ligands via the thiosemicarbazone moiety's azomethine nitrogen and thiolate sulfur [upon loss of the N(2) hydrogen] when reacted with NiCl2 in the presence of Et3N or with Ni(OAc)2.  相似文献

Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of pyruvaldehyde bis{N(3)-methyl-, bis{N(3)-ethyl-, bis{N(3)-dimethyl- and bis{piperidylthiosemicarbazone} have been prepared and studied spectroscopically. The four thiosemicarbazones have been characterized by their melting points, as well as i.r., electronic and n.m.r. (1H,13C) spectra. The four coordinate copper(II) complexes have been studied by e.s.r. spectroscopy, and the copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes by several of the spectroscopic techniques mentioned above. Upon formation of these complexes, loss of protons from each thiosemicarbazone moiety occurs, and the bis(thiosemicarbazones) coordinate to the metal centres as dianionic, tetradentate N2S2 ligands.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes of formylpyrazine N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones coordinated either as neutral or monoanionic ligands, [M(HL)X2] and [M(L)X], respectively, have been prepared and characterized. I.r., electronic and e.s.r spectra of the complexes, as well as 1H-n.m.r. spectra of the thiosemicarbazones, have been obtained. The N(4)-dialkyl and azacyclothiosemicarbazones and their copper(II) complexes show significant growth inhibitory activity against both Aspergillus niger and Paecilomyces variotii.  相似文献

The reaction of Kpmf (pmf = anion of N,N[prime or minute]-bis(pyrimidyl-2-yl)formamidine, Hpmf) with CuSCN afforded the complexes K[Cu4(pmF)3(SCN)2], 1, and Cu(4)(pmf)4, 2. Reaction of 1 with [(n-Bu)4N]PF6 in THF gave the complex [(n-Bu)4N][Cu4(pmf)3(SCN)2], 3. Their structures were characterized by X-ray crystallography. Complexes 1 and 3 are the first linear tetranuclear complexes containing only Cu(I) atoms, while complex 2 is cyclic. The four Cu(I) atoms of complexes 1 and 3 are helically bridged by three tetradentate pmf- ligands. The [Cu4(pmf)3(SCN)2]- anions of 1 show weak interactions with adjacent [K(THF)5]+ cations through the sulfur atoms, forming infinite chains which are subjected to a series of intermolecular pi-pi interactions. In complex 2, the pmf- ligands are coordinated to the copper atoms in bidentate fashion through the two central amine nitrogen atoms, leaving the pyrimidine nitrogen atoms uncoordinated. Unexpected fluxional behaviors were observed for complexes 1 and 3 in solution. By the DNMR analysis, the free energy of activation (DeltaGc(not equal)) for the exchange is 12.8 kcal mol(-1) at 278 K (T(c)), and the rate constant of exchange (K(c)) is 470 s(-1) for 1. The DeltaGc(not equal) and Kc are 12.6 kcal mol(-1) at 273 K and 433 s(-1), respectively, for 3.  相似文献

Copper(I) complexes with tripodal nitrogen-containing neutral ligands such as tris(3,5-diisopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)methane (L1') and tris(3-tertiary-butyl-5-isopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)methane (L3'), and with corresponding anionic ligands such as hydrotris(3,5-diisopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)borate (L1-) and hydrotris(3-tertiary-butyl-5-isopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)borate (L3-) were synthesized and structurally characterized. Copper(I) complexes [Cu(L1')Cl] (1), [Cu(L1')(OClO3)] (2), [Cu(L1')(NCMe)](PF6) (3a), [Cu(L1')(NCMe)](ClO4) (3b), [Cu(L1')(CO)](PF6) (4a), and [Cu(L1')(CO)](ClO4) (4b) were prepared using the ligand L1'. Copper(I) complexes [Cu(L3')Cl] (5) and [Cu(L3')(NCMe)](PF6) (6) with the ligand L3' were also synthesized. Copper(I) complexes [Cu(L1)(NCMe)] (7) and [Cu(L1)(CO)] (8) were prepared using the anionic ligand L1-. Finally, copper(I) complexes with anionic ligand L3- and acetonitrile (9) and carbon monoxide (10) were synthesized. The complexes obtained were fully characterized by IR, far-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The structures of both ligands, L1' and L3', and of complexes 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 5, 6, 7, and 10 were determined by X-ray crystallography. The effects of the differences in (a) the fourth ligand and the counteranion, (b) the steric hindrance at the third position of the pyrazolyl rings, and most importantly, (c) the charge of the N3 type ligands, on the structures, spectroscopic properties, and reactivities of the copper(I) complexes are discussed. The observed differences in the reactivities toward O2 of the copper(I) acetonitrile complexes are traced back to differences in the oxidation potentials determined by cyclic voltammetry. A special focus is set on the carbonyl complexes, where the 13C NMR and vibrational data are presented. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations are used to shed light on the differences in CO bonding in the compounds with neutral and anionic N3 ligands. In correlation with the vibrational and electrochemical data of these complexes, it is demonstrated that the C-O stretching vibration is a sensitive probe for the "electron richness" of copper(I) in these compounds.  相似文献

Copper(I) complexes of tripodal tris(N-methyl-4,5-diphenyl-imidazolyl)methane ligands, N3CR (1a-c, R = OH, OMe, H), have been prepared as models for the Cu(A) site of copper hydroxylase enzymes. In the absence of additional donors, the ligands 1 react with [Cu(CH3CN)4]PF6 (2) to produce dinuclear complexes [(N3CR)2Cu2](PF6)2 (3) in which the tripodal ligands bridge two trigonal Cu centers; the structures of 3b and 3c are established by X-ray diffraction. Mononuclear adducts [(N3CR)CuL]Z are produced with L = acetonitrile (4), carbon monoxide (5), and t-BuNC (6, 7). The carbonyl complexes 5 are in dynamic equilibrium with the dimeric complexes 3, but 5c (R = H) can be isolated. The structures of the isocyanide derivatives depend critically on the tripod methane substituent, R. Thus, the X-ray structures of 6 (R = OMe) and 7 (R = H) show trigonal and tetrahedral geometries, respectively, with bi- or tridentate coordination of the tripod. A trinuclear complex [Cu3(N3COH)2(t-BuNC)2](PF6)3 (8) is formed from N3COH (1a) which features both three-coordinate and two-coordinate Cu atoms and bidentate tripod coordination. Reactions of dioxygen with dinuclear 3c or mononuclear [(N3CR)CuL]Z are sluggish, producing from the latter in acetone [(N3CH)CuII(L)(L')](PF6)2 (9, L = acetone, L' = H2O).  相似文献

Copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of glyoxaldehyde bis{N(3)-methyl-, bis{N(3)-ethyl-, bis{N(3)-dimethyl-, bis{piperidyl- and bis{hexamethyleneiminylthiosemicarbazone} have been prepared and studied spectroscopically. The five bis(thiosemicarbazones) have been characterized by their melting points, as well as i.r., electronic and 1H-n.m.r. spectra. The four-coordinate copper(II) complexes have been studied by e.s.r. spectroscopy, and the copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes by a number of the spectroscopic techniques mentioned above. Upon formation of these complexes, loss of protons from each thiosemicarbazone moiety occurs, and the bis(thiosemicarbazones) coordinate to the metal centres as dianionic, tetradentate N2S2 ligands. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of nickel(II) and zinc-(II) complexes with 4-formylantipyrine N(4)-methyl-, N(4)-dimethyl- and 3-piperidylthiosemicarbazones are reported. Elemental analyses, molar conductivities, magnetic measurements and spectral (i.r., electronic and n.m.r.) studies have been used to characterize the complexes. The i.r. spectra show that the thiosemicarbazones behave as bidentate or tridentate ligands, either in the thione or thiolato form. Stereochemistries are proposed for the complexes on the basis of spectral and magnetic studies.  相似文献

Three iron(III) complexes (1-3) of 2-benzoylpyridine N(4)-phenyl thiosemicarbazone (HL1) and one iron(III) complex (4) of 2-benzoylpyridine N(4)-cyclohexyl thiosemicarbazone (HL2) were synthesized and characterized by means of different physicochemical techniques viz., molar conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibility studies and electronic, infrared and EPR spectral studies. The analytical data and the molar conductance measurements of the complexes reveal that two molecules of the ligand and the anion are coordinated to the metal atom in all the four complexes. The magnetic moments of the complexes suggest that they are of low spin. From the infrared spectra of the ligands and the complexes it is confirmed that the ligands coordinate to iron(III) as an anion coordinating via the azomethine nitrogen, pyridyl nitrogen, and the thiolate sulphur. The EPR spectra of the complexes in the polycrystalline state at 298 and 110 K and in DMF solution at 110 K were recorded and all the spectra show three g values indicating that these complexes have rhombic distortion. All the iron(III) complexes in DMF solution at 110 K have similar anisotropic spectra with almost the same gav values, indicating that the bonding in all the complexes is similar and is unaffected by the coordination of the anion.  相似文献

Two new Schiff base ligands containing 2,4–disubstituted thiazoles and cyclobutane rings, 4-(1-methyl-1-phenylcyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L1H), 4-(1-methyl-1-p-xylylcyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L2H) and their mononuclear complexes with a 1:2 metal–ligand ratio have been prepared from acetate salts of CoII, CuII, NiII and ZnII in EtOH. The authenticity of the ligands and their complexes have been established by microanalyses, i.r., 13C- and 1H-n.m.r. spectra, and by magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. The complexes are mononuclear. Thermal properties of the ligands and complexes have been studied by t.g.a. and d.s.c. techniques. Antimicrobial activities of the ligands and their complexes have been tested against six different microorganisms; three are yeast and three are bacteria. One of the ligands and many of the complexes were found to be active against some of the microorganisms studied.  相似文献

Metal complexes of general formula [Cu(L)](ClO4)2, [Ru(L)(PPh3)2]Cl2 and [Ru(L)(PPh3)Cl]Cl2[L = 1,4-di- (o-benzylidiminophenoxy/benzylidiminophenylthio)butane] containing N2O2 or N2S2 donor atoms have been prepared and characterised by spectral, magnetic and cyclic voltammetric studies. The rhombic nature of the e.s.r. spectra of the RuIII complexes indicates an asymmetry in the electronic environment around the Ru atom. e.s.r. spectra of the CuII complexes show a typical four-line spectrum with approximate tetrahedral distortion. The observed low A values in the CuII complexes, of the order of 132–160 × 10–4cm–1, indicates a tetrahedrally distorted square planar structure. The influence of modified ligands is reflected in the metal-centered redox potentials. CuII complexes having the N2S2 chromophore, in MeCN on a glassy carbon electrode, undergo quasi-reversible reduction in the 540–680 mV range. A depression in E1/2 values for the open chain N2S2 chromophoric macrocyclic CuII complexes, compared to electronically similar cyclic tetradentate CuII analogues, is due to the increased stabilization of the CuI state by added flexibility provided through the open chain donor sites.  相似文献

Reactions of diphenyllead(IV) chloride with benzil bis(thiosemicarbazone) (L1H6) and benzil bis(4-methyl-3-thiosemicarbazone) (L1Me2H4) afforded the first complexes containing the diphenyllead(IV) moiety with bis(thiosemicarbazone) ligands. The new complexes show diverse structural characteristics depending on the ligand and the working conditions. Complexes [PbPh2Cl(L1H5)].3H2O (1) and [PbPh2Cl(L1Me2H3)] (3) are mononuclear species in which the ligands are partially deprotonated and the lead atom has a C2N2S2Cl environment in a distorted pentagonal bipyramid coordination geometry. Complex [PbPh(L1Me2H2)](2).2H2O (4) was also obtained, which contains two lead atoms in a binuclear structure with a C2N2S3 coordination sphere for each lead atom, since both dideprotonated ligands act as N2S2 chelate and as sulfur bridge. Reaction from L1H6, in the same conditions in which complex 4 was prepared, gave a mixture of products: the lead (II) complex [Pb(L1H4)]2 (2) and [PbPh3Cl]n. Reactions with the cyclic molecules 5-methoxy-5,6-diphenyl-4,5-dihydro-2H-[1,2,4]-triazine-3-thione (L2H2OCH3) and 5-methoxy-4-methyl-5,6-diphenyl-4,5-dihydro-2H-[1,2,4]-triazine-3-thione (L2MeHOCH3) were also explored. In all the complexes, the ligands are deprotonated. The complexes [PbPh2(L2)2] (5) and [PbPh2(L2MeOCH3)2] (7) present the same characteristics. The X-ray structure of 5 shows a distorted octahedral geometry around the lead atom, with the ligand molecules acting as NS chelates, but the nitrogen bonded to the metal is different; one of the triazines shows a novel behavior, since the nitrogen atom of the new imine group formed is the one that is bonded to the lead center, being a good example of linkage isomerism. The complex [PbPh2Cl(L2)] (6), which was also isolated, could not be crystallized. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, IR and 1H, 13C, and 207Pb NMR spectroscopy and some of them by X-ray diffraction studies.  相似文献

Cobalt(II) complexes of five 4-acetamidobenzaldehyde N(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazones have been prepared in EtOH solution and characterized by i.r., electronic and n.m.r. spectra, and by magnetic susceptibilities and molar conductivity measurements. The thiosemicarbazones coordinate as monoanionic or neutral ligands via the thiosemicarbazone azomethine nitrogen and thione/thiolato sulfur, the latter by loss of the thioamide hydrogen, N(2)H. The resulting cobalt(II) complexes exhibit a varied stereochemistry.  相似文献

A series of Cu(I) complexes formulated as [Cu(2)(mu-X)(2)(PPh(3))(L)(n)] were prepared with various mono- and bidentate N-heteroaromatic ligands (X = Br, I; L = 4,4'-bipyridine, pyrazine, pyrimidine, 1,5-naphthyridine, 1,6-naphthyridine, quinazoline, N,N-dimethyl-4-aminopyridine, 3-benzoylpyridine, 4-benzoylpyridine; n = 1, 2). Single-crystal structure analyses revealed that all the complexes have planar {Cu(2)X(2)} units. Whereas those with monodentate N-heteroaromatic ligands afforded discrete dinuclear complexes, bidentate ligands formed infinite chain complexes with the ligands bridging the dimeric units. The long Cu...Cu distances (2.872-3.303 A) observed in these complexes indicated no substantial interaction between the two Cu(I) ions. The complexes showed strong emission at room temperature as well as at 80 K in the solid state. The emission spectra and lifetimes in the microsecond range were measured at room temperature and at 80 K. The emissions of the complexes varied from red to blue by the systematic selection of the N-heteroaromatic ligands (lambda(em)(max): 450 nm (L = N,N-dimethyl-4-aminopyridine) to 707 nm (L = pyrazine)), and were assigned to metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) excited states with some mixing of the halide-to-ligand (XL) CT characters. The emission energies were successfully correlated with the reduction potentials of the coordinated N-heteroaromatic ligands, which were estimated by applying a simple modification based on the calculated stabilization energies of the ligands by protonation.  相似文献

The Schiff bases of N(2)O(2) dibasic ligands, H(2)La and H(2)Lb are prepared by the condensation of ethylenediamine (a) and trimethylenediamine (b) with 6-formyl-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzopyran-4-one. Also tetra basic ligands, H(4)La and H(4)Lb are prepared by the condensation of aliphatic amines (a) and (b) with 6-formyl-5,7-dihydroxy-2-methylbenzopyran-4-one. New complexes of H(4)La and H(4)Lb with metal ions Mn(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) are synthesized, in addition Mn(II) complexes with ligands H(2)La and H(2)Lb are also synthesized. Elemental and thermal analyses, infrared, ultraviolet-visible as well as conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements are used to elucidate the structure of the newly prepared metal complexes. The structures of copper(II) complexes are also assigned based upon ESR spectra study. All the complexes separated with the stoichiometric ratio (1:1) (M:L) except Mn-H(4)La and Mn-H(4)Lb with (2:1) (M:L) molar ratio. In metal chelates of the type 1:1 (M:L), the Schiff bases behave as a dinegative N(2)O(2) tetradentate ligands. Moreover in 2:1 (M:L) complexes, the Schiff base molecules act as mono negative bidentate ligand and binuclear complex is then formed. The Schiff bases were assayed by the disc diffusion method for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The antifungal activity of the Schiff bases was also evaluated against the fungi Aspergillus flavus and Candida albicans.  相似文献

The coordination chemistries of the potential tetradentate ligands N,N'-bis(3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)ethylenediamine, H4[L1], the unsaturated analogue glyoxal-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylanil), H2[L2], and N,N'-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)-2,2-dimethylpropylenediamine, H4[L3], have been investigated with nickel(II), palladium(II), and copper(II). The complexes prepared and characterized are [Ni(II)(H3L1)2] (1), [Ni(II)(HL2)2].5/8CH2Cl2 (2), [Ni(II)(L3**)] (3), [Pd(II)(L3**)][Pd(II)(H2L3) (4), and [Cu(II)(H2O)(L4)] (5), where (L4)2- is the oxidized diimine form of (L3)4- and (L3**)2- is the bis(o-iminosemiquinonate) diradical form of (L3)4-. The structures of compounds 1-5 have been determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography. In complexes 1 and 2, the ligands (H3L1)- and (HL2)- are tridentate and the nickel ions are in an octahedral ligand environment. The oxidation level of the ligands is that of an aromatic o-aminophenol. 1 and 2 are paramagnetic (mu(eff) approximately 3.2 mu(B) at 300 K), indicating an S = 1 ground state. The diamagnetic, square planar, four-coordinate complexes 3 and [Pd(II)(L3**)] in 4 each contain two antiferromagnetically coupled o-iminobenzosemiquinonate(1-) pi radicals. Diamagnetic [Pd(II)(H2L3)] in 4 forms an eclipsed dimer via four N-H.O hydrogen bonding contacts which yields a nonbonding Pd.Pd contact of 3.0846(4) A. Complex 5 contains a five-coordinate Cu(II) ion and two o-aminophenolate(1-) halves in (L4)2-. The electrochemistries of complexes 3 and 4a ([Pd(II)(L3**)] of 4) have been investigated, and the EPR spectra of the monocations and -anions are reported.  相似文献

The variable chelating behavior of 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde-4(N)-substituted thiosemicarbazones was observed in equimolar reactions with [PdCl(2)(PPh(3))(2)]. The new complexes were characterized by various analytical, spectroscopic techniques (mass, (1)H-NMR, absorption, IR). All the new complexes were structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Crystallographic results showed that the ligands H(2)L(1) and H(2)L(4) are coordinated as binegative tridentate ONS donor ligands in the complexes 1 and 4 by forming six and five member rings. However, the ligands H(2)L(2) and H(2)L(3) bound to palladium in 2 and 3 as uninegative bidentate NS donors by forming a five member chelate ring. From this study, it was found that the substitution on terminal 4(N)-nitrogen may have an influence on the chelating ability of thiosemicarbazone. The presence of hydrogen bonding in 2 and 3 might be responsible for preventing the coordination of phenolic oxygen to the metal ion. The interaction of the complexes with calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) has been explored by absorption and emission titration methods. Based on the observations, an electrostatic binding mode of DNA has been proposed. The protein binding studies were monitored by quenching of tryptophan and tyrosine residues in the presence of complexes using Lysozyme as model protein. Antibacterial activity studies of the complexes have been screened against pathogenic bacteria such as Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. MIC50 values of the complexes showed that they exhibited significant activity against the pathogens and among them, 3 exhibited higher activity. Further, anticancer activity of the complexes on the lung cancer cell line A549 has also been studied.  相似文献
