In this note, we provide basic asymptotic formulas for approximating large g-gonal sequence factorials by using Stirling and Burnside asymptotic approximation formulas for large factorials. More accurate asymptotic approximation formulas for large g-gonal sequence factorials resulting from some recent, more accurate asymptotic formulas for large factorials that have appeared in the literature are presented.  相似文献

Summary Quadrature formulas are obtained for the Fourier and Bessel transforms which correspond to the well-known Gauss-Laguerre formula for the Laplace transform. These formulas provide effective asymptotic approximations, complete with error bounds. By analyzing a system of integro-differential equations of the Volterra-Stieltjes type, for large parameter values, we obtain asymptotic formulas for a linearly independent system of solutions of ordinary differential equations with generalized functions in coefficients. These solutions permit one to construct asymptotic formulas for the eigenvalues of a boundary value problem in the case of regular boundary conditions.  相似文献

The notion of weekly uniform distribution of arithmetical functions was introduced by W. Narckiewicz. For many functions in various papers, the problem of existence of such distribution was solved, and asymptotic formulas for frequency of hits of function values in residue classes coprime with a module were established. These asymptotic formulas contained, as a rule, only principal part of the asymptotics. A similar problem is solved in the present paper for the function which gives the number of square-free divisors of a natural number, but the asymptotic formula is the asymptotic series.

Recently there has been a renewed interest in asymptotic Euler–MacLaurin formulas, because of their applications to spectral theory of differential operators. Using elementary means, we recover such formulas for compactly supported smooth functions on intervals, polygons, and three-dimensional polytopes, where the coefficients in the asymptotic expansion are sums of differential operators involving only derivatives of the function in directions normal to the faces of the polytope. We study the asymptotic behavior of distribution densities arising in stock price models with stochastic volatility. The main objects of our interest in the present paper are the density of time averages of the squared volatility process and the density of the stock price process in the Stein-Stein and the Heston model. We find explicit formulas for leading terms in asymptotic expansions of these densities and give error estimates. As an application of our results, sharp asymptotic formulas for the implied volatility in the Stein-Stein and the Heston model are obtained.  相似文献

General formulas of the asymptotic cumulants of a studentized parameter estimator are given up to the fourth order with the added higher-order asymptotic variance. Using the sample counterparts of the asymptotic cumulants, formulas for the Cornish-Fisher expansions with third-order accuracy are obtained. Some new methods of monotonic transformations of the studentized estimator are presented. In addition, similar transformations of a fixed normal deviate are proposed up to the same order with some asymptotic comparisons to the transformations of the studentized estimator. Applications to a mean and a binomial proportion are shown with simulations for estimation of the proportion.  相似文献
