A cw uv copper hollow cathode laser is described, which could be operated for a longer time duration with an output power of 7 mW in the 260 nm region. A double-cathode configuration with a protection for the mirrors from metal-vapour deposition is presented. Characteristics of the laser output power, the spontaneous emission, and the ion densities in the negative glow were measured as depending on the discharge current, the neon gas pressure, and the size of the cathode slit. The observed saturation of the laser output power at high discharge current (1 A/cm2) and the optimum slot size are discussed.  相似文献

By interferometric investigation data for radial inhomogeneities in excitation and profile of some copper lines and for the population of 4p2p° level of CuI in hollow cathode discharge are obtained. Observed dependence of the line profile width on the radial location of the emitting volume is interpreted through the varying ratio of Lorentz and Gauss components in the line profile emitted from various discharge volumes. The maximum population of 4p2p° level of CuI in the region of applied pressure and discharge current is observed when the copper line is emitted along the cathode axis.  相似文献

Discharge current voltage (IV) curves are directly measured at the target of a high impulse power magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) plasma for the target materials aluminium, chromium, titanium and copper. These discharge IV curves have been correlated with ICCD camera images of the plasma torus. A clear connection between the change in the discharge IV curve slopes at specific currents and the appearance of localized ionization zones, so‐called spokes, in a HiPIMS plasma is identified. These spokes appear above typical target current densities of 2 A/cm2. The slope of the discharge IV curves, at current densities when spokes are formed, depends on the mass of the target atoms with a higher plasma conductivity for higher mass target materials. This is explained by the momentum transfer from the sputter wind to the argon background gas, which leads to higher plasma densities for heavier target materials. The change in the VI curve slope can be used to identify the spokes regime for HiPIMS plasmas, as being mandatory for deposition of good quality materials by HiPIMS. Consequently, the discharge IV curve slope monitoring can be regarded an essential control approach of any industrial HiPIMS process, where discharge IV curves are much easier accessible compared to more complex diagnostics such as time and space resolved ICCD camera measurements. A low pressure electrical discharge for excitation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, PAHs, without fragmentation is described. The discharge characteristics as well as the plasma background spectra are given. The application of the discharge for the excitation of molecular spectra of PAHs is described. Difficulties with correction of the analyte emission spectrum for the background emission spectrum of the gas (He) are mentioned. Analytical use of the discharge for detection of PAH3 introduced by gas chromatography is described and is shown to be of marginal analytical use because of the rather poor detection limits of about 1 μg.

Jurgensen and Winefordner1 have reviewed both reduced pressure and atmospheric pressure nitrogen discharges for detection of atomic and molecular species. The same authors2 have also described an active nitrogen-induced chemiluminescence system for detection of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, PAHs, and achieved detection limits in the range of 0.01 - 2000 ng. The intriguing aspect of the active nitrogen—induced chemiluminescence approach2 for detection of PAHs was that the discharge was gentle resulting in little fragmentation of the PAHs and in the appearance of emission spectra characteristic of the parent molecules. Because of the poor understanding of the mechanism of excitation of the large organic molecules and the minimal fragmentation and because of the lack of control of the direct discharge as opposed to the afterglow in the studies of Jurgensen and Winefordner2, the present authors began a careful study of the physical and analytical characteristics of this discharge in the fall of 1984. The physical characteristics were reported by Yu and Winefordner3 and indicated that the previous workers2, were using the direct discharge plasma as a result of llpoorlv grounding. In addition, the same workers3 showed that the active nitrogen afterglow was not capable of exciting PAHs. In this note, we report on the analytical capabilities of an improved active gas (nitrogen or helium) electrical discharge system for gaseous PAHs.  相似文献

A new type of discharge in pure metal vapors like copper or titanium is described. A stable discharge is produced between a heated cathode and the anode which has a melted spot on its surface due to the electron bombardment. The spectral characteristics prove that the discharge take place in the vapors of the anode material continuously evaporated from the melted spot on the anode. 氩气压力对螺旋波放电影响的发射光谱诊断及仿真研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
螺旋波等离子体源以其高电离效率与高密度优势受到多个领域的青睐。螺旋波放电高电离效率的机理或者功率耦合模式,一直是困扰该领域学者的难点之一,对于放电过程与特性的诊断则是揭示其物理机制的重要途径。光谱诊断能够克服介入式诊断手段对等离子体的干扰同时受等离子体烧蚀等弊端,且响应速度快、操作灵活。为研究螺旋波等离子体的放电特性以及气体压力的影响,开展了以氩气为工质气体的光谱实验研究,并针对实验开展了Helic程序数值模拟。通过改变光纤探头焦距调整径向诊断位置,得到谱线强度的径向分布。由氩原子4p-4s能级跃迁产生的谱线主要集中在740~920 nm区间,谱线相对强度较离子激发谱线较强。实验研究发现,在较低氩气压力范围(0.2 Pa<PAr<1.0 Pa),随着压力增加,放电光强迅速增加,但是当压力增加到大于1.0 Pa之后,光强增长的趋势变缓,甚至部分谱线的相对强度不再增长,达到类饱和状态,朗缪尔探针测量得到离子密度变化趋势与其相似。光强分布在靠近径向边界处(r≈4 cm)存在凸起,且随压力增加,该凸起分布更为明显。通过对电子温度的计算发现,压力增加到一定程度将影响放电均匀性。仿真结果显示,增大压力,功率沉积密度的径向分布逐渐向径向边界处积累,与实验观察到的谱线强度径向凸起相一致,螺旋波与TG波的耦合效率增加。随着气体压力的增加,Er的径向边界峰值降低,原因是波所受阻尼增强,TG波被有效地局限于径向较窄的边界处。电流密度轴向分量Jz在等离子体内部和边界处的峰值呈显著的减小趋势,可见,虽然压力增加一定程度上提高了等离子体密度,但却相应的减小了电离率,导致轴向电流密度受限。但是径向电流密度Jr却呈现先减小后增大的趋势,且增长幅度明显,综合来看,放电效率有所提高。可见适当增加气体压力,有助于提高放电的功率耦合效率和强度,增加等离子体密度。光强比值法是针对线性谱线参数计算的典型方法,Helic程序亦是专业领域内认可度很高的计算工具,结果可靠,分析方法具有可借鉴性。实验及仿真结果对于提高氩气工质下的螺旋波放电强度提供了一定的参考价值。  相似文献

A brief review of metal vapour lasers is presented with an emphasis on the recent progress made in advancing metal vapour laser technology and applications. It is anticipated that new types of metal vapour lasers will be developed which take advantage of recently observed behaviours of high pressure copper vapour lasers. For example, collisional excitation energy transfer may make it possible to develop efficient single wavelength copper vapour lasers at high pressures. Also, use of new discharge schemes such as high power microwave discharges may significantly advance the metal vapour laser technology. 在放电间隙较大(d=3.8 mm)的介质阻挡放电(DBD)中,通过减小放电区域(S=1 cm×1 cm),首次观察到了单个新型放电丝。与其他实验小组所观察到的单个放电丝相比,该单个新型放电丝由体放电(VD)和沿面放电(SD)二部分构成,其放电稳定性和持续性极好。利用高速照相机和光谱仪,研究了单个新型放电丝在外加电压半周期单次放电中的放电特征和单个新型放电丝侧面放电柱不同位置的等离子体状态。在高速照相机不同曝光时间条件下拍摄得到了单个新型放电丝端面和侧面放电的瞬时照片,并对其外加电压半周期单次放电的放电特征与辉光放电进行了对比。利用发射光谱法,采集了单个新型放电丝侧面放电柱不同位置的氩原子763.26 nm(2P6→1S5)和772.13 nm(2P2→1S3)发射谱线,并通过两条谱线强度比法,估算出了相应的电子激发温度。实验结果得出:单个新型放电丝由体放电和沿面放电构成,且沿面放电在体放电四周呈枝状扩散;单个新型放电丝在外加电压半周期单次放电中与辉光放电特征相似,且在阴极呈现出漏斗状放电;氩原子谱线强度及其相应的电子激发温度从极板两端到中间均呈减小的变化趋势,表明单个新型放电丝侧面放电柱不同位置的等离子体状态不同。  相似文献

For the purpose of producing high intensity, multiply charged metal ion beams, the dual hollow cathode ion source for metal ions (DUHOCAMIS) was derived from the hot cathode Penning ion source combined with the hollow cathode sputtering experiments in 2007. To investigate the behavior of this discharge geometry in a stronger magnetic bottle-shaped field, a new test bench for DUHOCAMIS with a high magnetic bottle-shaped field up to 0.6 T has been set up at the Peking University. The experiments with magnetic fields from 0.13 T to 0.52 T have indicated that the discharge behavior is very sensitive to the magnetic flux densities. The slope of discharge curves in a very wide range can be controlled by changing the magnetic field as well as regulated by adjusting the cathode heating power; the production of metallic ions would be much greater than gas ions with the increased magnetic flux density; and the magnetic field has a much higher influence on the DHCD mode than on the PIG mode.  相似文献

在长度为20 cm的石英毛细管内利用两个边缘锋利的中空的针型电极之间的氩气放电产生了高电子密度的大气压等离子体。利用发射光谱对所获得的等离子体的几个重要参数进行了诊断。利用计算机谱线拟合法合成了300 nm附近OH(A-X)的(0-0)转动谱带并通过与测量谱线的比较确定了等离子体的气体温度,根据Hβ谱线Stark展宽法计算了等离子体的电子密度,采用玻尔兹曼曲线斜率法依据测得的有关氩的发射光谱估算了等离子体的电子温度。研究结果表明,这种石英毛细管内弧光放电等离子体的气体温度约为(1 100±50)K;电子密度数量级在1014 cm-3;电子温度约为(14 515±500)K。  相似文献

二代加百万千万级核电站严重事故下卸压过程中高温流体流经卸压阀,可能造成流道变形,甚至造成阀杆下落使得排放流道封闭,造成卸压失败。对严重事故专用卸压阀在卸压过程中可能经历的高温流体状态进行谱分析,获得了不同卸压能力下阀门经受的高温流体状态。开展了高温可能引起的阀门流道变形对卸压效果的影响分析。第二类阀门虽然存在阀门流道变形的可能,但能够获得较长严重事故处置时间,从优化严重事故对策的角度,严重事故专用卸压阀推荐采用第二类阀门排放能力450~600 t/h范围。  相似文献

氢能作为一种高热值、无污染的清洁能源日渐受到国内外专家学者的追捧。微波液相放电技术在醇类中制氢具有光明的研究前景,为氢能的研究开发开辟了一条新的途径。通过对乙醇制氢发射光谱分析,有利于分析微波液相放电醇类制氢机理的探讨,为进一步改进微波液相放电制氢技术奠定基础。本文采用2.45 GHz频率微波在液相醇类中放电实现了微波液相等离子体制氢,并借助发射光谱仪对微波液相放电乙醇制氢光谱特性进行了研究。研究结果显示:微波液相放电乙醇制氢过程中,能产生大量的H,O,OH,CH,C2等活性粒子;乙醇放电光谱中OH自由基、H自由基和O自由基的光谱强度要远大于纯水中OH自由基、H自由基和O自由基的光谱强度;高能粒子打开水分子中的O—H键,脱氢制氢的过程较乙醇分子难度要大,因此在微波乙醇放电制氢过程中,氢气的来源主要是乙醇分子的脱氢重组,水分解产氢的贡献度较低;在外界压力与温度一定的条件下,OH,H,O自由基的发射光谱强度随着功率的增加显著增强,而CH和C2活性粒子发射光谱强度则出现减弱趋势,这表明较大的微波功率不仅使产生的高能粒子的能量增加,同时高能粒子的密度也有所增加,导致较多的CH和C2基团被充分碰撞打开。  相似文献

The results of experimental investigations of the action of the volumetric discharge initiated by an avalanche electron beam on the surface of copper specimens are presented. The volumetric (diffuse) discharge in nitrogen and CO2 at atmospheric pressure was initiated by applying high voltage pulses of nanosecond duration to a tubular foil cathode. It has been found that the treatment of a copper surface by this type of discharge increases the hardness of the surface layer due to oxidation.  相似文献

Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge (DCSBD) is a novel type of atmospheric‐pressure plasma source developed for high‐speed large‐area surface plasma treatments. Basic characteristics of DCSBD operated in pure atmospheric‐pressure hydrogen were measured using optical and emission spectroscopy methods, and its potential for the surface treatment application was demonstrated by hydrogen plasma reduction of Cu2O thin layers. The discharge generates a thin layer of diffuse non‐equilibrium plasma with a high power density of 70 Wcm–3. The mean electron density and electron temperature derived from spectroscopic data were 1.3 x 1016cm–3 and 19 x 103K, and the surface Cu2O layers forming a weak boundary were reduced to metallic copper within several seconds. Abstract

This review article focuses on the analytical capabilities of glow discharge optical emission spectrometry (GD‐OES) and mass spectrometry (GD‐MS) to perform compositional depth profiling (GD‐CDP). The properties of the Grimm‐type glow discharge as well as basic processes of sputtering are described and their influence on the GD as a surface and interface analytical tool are discussed. A series of examples from recent literature ranging from computer hard disks to molecular monolayers on copper substrates are presented to illustrate the excellent depth resolution that can be achieved with GD surface analytical techniques. The conditions for obtaining nanometer or even atomic‐layer depth resolution are discussed. Following this introduction is the possibilities of the technique a selection of applications principally chosen from our laboratories, demonstrating that GD‐OES and GD‐MS can be successfully employed as an analytical tool assisting the development of new materials and coatings. The applications cover common industrial tasks such as heat treatments, studies of diffusion processes at interfaces, and electrochemical depositions for biocompatible material. However, limitations and known artifacts are also discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

The influence of anode distance from hollow cathode on the blackening? of spectral lines excited by means of the modified Grimm's lamp was investigated for three representative cathodic materials, i.e. aluminium, copper and graphite using argon as the carrier gas. On the basis of the experimental results as well as voltage-current characteristic curves at distances of 7, 15, 20, 25 and 33 mm, it was possible to conclude that the optimal sets of discharge parameters for all the materials investigated are based on an electrode distance of 20-25 mm. In the case of copper a distance of 33 mm was also found to be highly suitable. An increase in the emission of copper lines at the largest anodic length with increasing pressure of the noble gas was also observed, in contrast with the behavior of the same element at shorter distances. A tentative interpretation of the phenomenon is given.  相似文献

基于电弧放电物理过程,分析气动激励机理,建立用于电弧放电等离子体诱导激波数值模拟的爆炸丝传热模型.主要结论有:电弧放电等离子体气动激励的主要机理是热等离子体的热阻塞效应,热电弧放电对于超声速来流而言就像-个具有-定斜坡角度的虚拟突起;理论分析只适用于纵坐标较小的阶段;当传热的功率设为放电功率的10%时,本文所建立的模型能够用于电弧放电等离子体诱导激波的仿真研究;等离子体虚拟斜坡角度及其诱导激波角都随来流总压和速度的增大而减小,随着放电功率的增大而增大,在总压、速度和放电功率较小的阶段这种变化较明显,在总压、速度和放电功率较大的阶段这种变化较缓慢.  相似文献

A new type of rf excited diffusively cooled all-metal slab waveguide CO2 laser is presented, in which the waveguide channel is constructed by two copper side walls and two copper electrodes, and the discharge is confined in the slab waveguide channel in terms of the voltage division structure. From this type of structure, over 1 kW laser power is obtained with an efficieney of more than 13%.  相似文献

A one-dimensional fluid simulation on argon rf glow discharge with varying linearly gas pressure from 1 Torr to 100 Tort is performed. The model based on mass conservation equations for electron and ion under diffusion and mobility approximation, and the electron energy conservation equation is solved numerically by finite volume method. The numerical results show that a uniform plasma with high density can be obtained from rf glow discharge with varying gas pressure, and the density of plasma becomes higher as the gas pressure varies from 1 Tort to 100 Tort. It is also shown that in the range of the gas pressure from 1 Tort to 100 Tort with the slower rate of varying gas pressure, higher density of plasma can be obtained.  相似文献
