A hydrogenation of N‐heterocycles mediated by diboronic acid with water as the hydrogen atom source is reported. A variety of N‐heterocycles can be hydrogenated with medium to excellent yields within 10 min. Complete deuterium incorporation from stoichiometric D2O onto substrates further exemplifies the H/D atom sources. Mechanism studies reveal that the reduction proceeds with initial 1,2‐addition, in which diboronic acid synergistically activates substrates and water via a six‐membered ring transition state.  相似文献

In recent years ‘frustrated Lewis pairs’ (FLPs) have been shown to be effective metal‐free catalysts for the hydrogenation of many unsaturated substrates. Even so, limited functional‐group tolerance restricts the range of solvents in which FLP‐mediated reactions can be performed, with all FLP‐mediated hydrogenations reported to date carried out in non‐donor hydrocarbon or chlorinated solvents. Herein we report that the bulky Lewis acids B(C6Cl5)x(C6F5)3?x (x=0–3) are capable of heterolytic H2 activation in the strong‐donor solvent THF, in the absence of any additional Lewis base. This allows metal‐free catalytic hydrogenations to be performed in donor solvent media under mild conditions; these systems are particularly effective for the hydrogenation of weakly basic substrates, including the first examples of metal‐free catalytic hydrogenation of furan heterocycles. The air‐stability of the most effective borane, B(C6Cl5)(C6F5)2, makes this a practically simple reaction method.  相似文献

Cinchonidine (CD) adsorbed onto a platinum metal catalyst leads to rate acceleration and induces strong stereocontrol in the asymmetric hydrogenation of trifluoroacetophenone. Addition of catalytic amounts of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) significantly enhances the enantiomeric excess from 50 to 92 %. The origin of the enantioselectivity bestowed by co‐adsorbed CD and TFA is investigated by using in situ attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy and modulation excitation spectroscopy. Molecular interactions between the chiral modifier (CD), acid additive (TFA) and the trifluoro‐activated substrate at the solid–liquid interface are elucidated under conditions relevant to catalytic hydrogenations, that is, on a technical Pt/Al2O3 catalyst in the presence of H2 and solvent. Monitoring of the unmodified and modified surface during the hydrogenation provides an insight into the phenomenon of rate enhancement and the crucial interactions of CD with the ketone, corresponding product alcohol, and TFA. Comparison of the diastereomeric interactions occurring on the modified surface and in the liquid solution shows a striking difference for the chiral preferences of CD. The spectroscopic data, in combination with calculations of molecular structures and energies, sheds light on the reaction mechanism of the heterogeneous asymmetric hydrogenation of trifluoromethyl ketones and the involvement of TFA in the diastereomeric intermediate surface complex: the quinuclidine N atom of the adsorbed CD forms an N?H?O‐type hydrogen‐bonding interaction not only with the trifluoro‐activated ketone but also with the corresponding alcohol and the acid additive. Strong evidence is provided that it is a monodentate acid/base adduct in which the carboxylate of TFA resides at the quinuclidine N‐atom of CD, which imparts a better stereochemical control.  相似文献

Outer-sphere radical hydrogenation of olefins proceeds via stepwise hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) from transition metal hydride species to the substrate. Typical catalysts exhibit M−H bonds that are either too weak to efficiently activate H2 or too strong to reduce unactivated olefins. This contribution evaluates an alternative approach, that starts from a square-planar cobalt(II) hydride complex. Photoactivation results in Co−H bond homolysis. The three-coordinate cobalt(I) photoproduct binds H2 to give a dihydrogen complex, which is a strong hydrogen atom donor, enabling the stepwise hydrogenation of both styrenes and unactivated aliphatic olefins with H2 via HAT.  相似文献

To develop economical and phosphorus‐free catalysts for hydrogenation of ketones, three new complexes, [Ni(1R,2R‐dpen)2(H2O)Cl]2Cl2· 2Et2O (1), [Ni(1R,2R‐dpen)(phen)(CH3OH)2]Cl2·2CH3OH (2) and [Ni(1,8‐dan)2(DMF)Cl]2Cl2· 3H2O (3), and three reported compounds, [Ni(opda)(phen)Cl2]·CH3OH (4), [Ni(opda)2Cl2] (5) and [Ni(1,2‐dach)2]Cl2 (6), were prepared and the structures of new compounds were determined by single crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis, in which 1R,2R‐dpen, phen, 1,8‐dan, opda and 1,2‐dach denote 1R,2R‐1,2‐diphenylethylenediamine, 1,10‐phenanthroline, 1,8‐diaminonaphthalene, o‐phenylenediamine and 1,2‐diaminocyclohexane, respectively. The catalytic effects for hydrogenation of acetophenone of these compounds were tested. This revealed very poor or no catalytic effects of these complexes in transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone using isopropanol or HCOOH? NEt3 as hydrogen source. However, they presented much better catalytic effects in ionic hydrogenation of acetophenone using H2 gas as hydrogen source with a dependence of the catalytic effects on the base used in the hydrogenation reactions. The complexes represent a kind of green hydrogenation catalyst, although the conversion in the hydrogenation reactions is not as high as expected. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Single‐atom catalysts are emerging as a new frontier in heterogeneous catalysis because of their maximum atom utilization efficiency, but they usually suffer from inferior stability. Herein, we synthesized single‐atom Rh catalysts embedded in MFI ‐type zeolites under hydrothermal conditions and subsequent ligand‐protected direct H2 reduction. Cs‐corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy and extended X‐ray absorption analyses revealed that single Rh atoms were encapsulated within 5‐membered rings and stabilized by zeolite framework oxygen atoms. The resultant catalysts exhibited excellent H2 generation rates from ammonia borane (AB) hydrolysis, up to 699 min?1 at 298 K, representing the top level among heterogeneous catalysts for AB hydrolysis. The catalysts also showed superior catalytic performance in shape‐selective tandem hydrogenation of various nitroarenes by coupling with AB hydrolysis, giving >99 % yield of corresponding amine products.  相似文献

A changeable ligand, which involves in activation of a catalyst or assists a reaction, draws an increasing attention, in contrast to a classical ligand as spectator. Proton‐responsive catalysts, which are capable of undergoing changes of properties on gaining/losing one or more protons, provides interesting features as follows: (i) catalyst activation by electronic effect, (ii) pH‐tuning of water‐solubility, and (iii) second‐coordination‐sphere interaction. On the basis of this catalyst design concept, we developed several highly efficient proton‐responsive catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation as H2 storage, formic acid (FA) dehydrogenation as H2 production, and transfer hydrogenation. The transformable ligands of proton‐responsive catalysts in promoting effective catalysis have aroused our interest. In this account, we summarize our efforts for the development and application of proton‐responsive catalysts. Specifically, the important role of pH‐dependent proton‐responsive complexes will be discussed.  相似文献

The nickel‐promoted Cu‐containing catalysts (CuxNiy‐MgAlO) for furfural (FFR) hydrogenation were prepared from the hydrotalcite‐like precursors, and characterized by X‐ray powder diffraction, inductively‐coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, N2 adsorption‐desorption, UV‐Vis diffuse reflectance spectra and temperature‐programmed reduction with H2 in the present work. The obtained catalysts were observed to exhibit a better catalytic property than the corresponding Cu‐MgAlO or Ni‐MgAlO samples in FFR hydrogenation, and the CuNi‐MgAlO catalyst with the actual Cu and Ni loadings of 12.5 wt% and 4.5 wt%, respectively, could give the highest FFR conversion (93.2%) and furfuryl alcohol selectivity (89.2%). At the same time, Cu0 species from the reduction of Cu2+ ions in spinel phases were deduced to be more active for FFR hydrogenation.  相似文献

The complexes [Ni2(L)2]2 · H2O ( 1 ) and [Cu2(L)2(H2O)] · 2CH3OH ( 2 ) were prepared by reaction of the chiral Schiff base ligand N‐[(1R,2S)‐2‐hydroxy‐1,2‐diphenyl]‐acetylacetonimine (H2L) with NiII and CuII ions, respectively, aiming to develop economically and environmentally‐friendly catalysts for the hydrogenation of ketones. They have a dinuclear skeleton with axial vacant sites. The catalytic effects of the two complexes for hydrogenation of ketones were tested using dihydrogen gas as hydrogen source. They present some catalytic effects in hydrogenation of acetophenone, which has a dependence on the temperature and base used in these reactions. However, no apparent catalytic effects were found for the two complexes in hydrogenation of 4‐nitroacetophenone and 4‐methylacetophenone. Although the catalytic conversion in these hydrogenation reactions is low, they do represent a kind of cheap and environmentally‐friendly hydrogenation catalyst.  相似文献

Titanium silicalite (TS) and TiO2 nanocomposites were prepared by mixing TS and TiO2 with different ratios in ethanol. They were impregnated with 15 wt% Co loading to afford Co‐based catalysts. Fischer–Tropsch synthesis (FTS) performance of these TS–TiO2 nanocomposite‐supported Co‐based catalysts was studied in a fixed‐bed tubular reactor. The results reveal that the Co/TS–TiO2 catalysts have better catalytic performance than Co/TS or Co/TiO2 each with a single support, showing the synergistic effect of the binary TS–TiO2 support. Among the TS–TiO2 nanocomposite‐supported Co‐based catalysts, Co/TS–TiO2‐1 presents the highest activity. These catalysts were characterized using N2 adsorption–desorption measurements, X‐ray diffraction, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, H2 temperature‐programmed reduction, H2 temperature‐programmed desorption and transmission electron microscopy. It was found that the position of the active component has a significant effect on the catalytic activity. In the TS–TiO2 nanocomposites, cobalt oxides located at the new pores developed between TS and TiO2 can exhibit better catalytic activity. Also, a positive relationship is observed between Co dispersion and FTS catalytic performance for all catalysts. The catalytic activity is improved on increasing the dispersion of Co.  相似文献

Ruthenium complexes [RuCl2L2] were prepared by treating [RuCl2(p‐cymene)]2 with structurally similar N‐(2‐(diphenylphosphino)benzylidene)‐3‐methylpyridin‐2‐amine, 4‐(2‐(diphenylphosphino)benzylideneamino)‐3‐methylphenol and 4‐(2‐(2‐(diphenylphosphino)benzylideneamino)ethyl)phenol refluxed in toluene. These complexes were used as catalysts for the transfer hydrogenation of acetophenones in 2‐propanol and for the direct hydrogenation of styrenes under hydrogen pressure. The results of the catalytic studies provide evidence that these complexes function as excellent catalysts for hydrogenation and transfer hydrogenation. The stereoselective hydrogenation of alkynes to alkenes is an extremely useful transformation in synthetic chemistry. Despite numerous reports for the synthesis of Z‐alkenes, the hydrogenation of alkynes to give E‐alkenes is still not well resolved. In particular, selective preparation of both Z‐ and E‐alkenes by the same catalytic hydrogenation system using molecular H2 has rarely been reported. In this paper, a novel strategy of using simple alkenes as promoters for the HB(C6F5)2‐catalyzed metal‐free hydrogenation of alkynes was adopted. Significantly, both Z‐ and E‐alkenes can be furnished by hydrogenation with molecular H2 in high yields with excellent stereoselectivities. Further experimental and theoretical mechanistic studies suggest that interactions between H and F atoms of the alkene promoter, borane intermediate, and H2 play an essential role in promoting the hydrogenolysis reaction.  相似文献

The hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde in the presence of supported platinum nanoparticles was used to determine how the interaction between the metal particles and their support can control catalytic performance. Using gas‐phase catalytic reaction studies and in situ sum‐frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy (SFG) to study Pt/TiO2 and Pt/SiO2 catalysts, a unique reaction pathway was identified for Pt/TiO2, which selectively produces alcohol products. The catalytic and spectroscopic data obtained for the Pt/SiO2 catalyst shows that SiO2 has no active role in this reaction. SFG spectra obtained for the Pt/TiO2 catalyst indicate the presence of a crotyl‐oxy surface intermediate. By adsorption through the aldehyde oxygen atom to an O‐vacancy site on the TiO2 surface, the C?O bond of crotonaldehyde is activated, by charge transfer, for hydrogenation. This intermediate reacts with spillover H provided by the Pt to produce crotyl alcohol.  相似文献

Co‐B amorphous alloy catalysts supported on three kinds of mesoporous silica (common SiO2, MCM‐41 and SBA‐15) have been systematically studied focusing on the effect of pore structure on the catalytic properties in liquid‐phase hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde to cinnamyl alcohol (CMO). Structural characterization of a series of different catalysts was performed by means of N2 adsorption, X‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, hydrogen chemisorption, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Various characterizations revealed that the pore structure of supports profoundly influenced the particle size, location and dispersion degree of Co‐B amorphous alloys. Co‐B/SBA‐15 was found more active and selective to CMO than either Co‐B/SiO2 or Co‐B/MCM‐41. The superior catalytic activity could be attributed to the higher active surface area, because most of Co‐B nanoparticles in Co‐B/SBA‐15 were located in the ordered pore channels of SBA‐15 rather than on the external surface as found in Co‐B/SiO2 and Co‐B/MCM‐41. Meanwhile, the geometrical confinement effect of the ordered mesoporous structure of SBA‐15 was considered to be responsible for the enhanced selectivity to CMO on Co‐B/SBA‐15, inhibiting the further hydrogenation of CMO to hydrocinnamyl alcohol.  相似文献

In the title compound, [Co(C5H3N2O4)2(H2O)2]·C10H8N2, the Co atom is trans‐coordinated by two pairs of N and O atoms from two monoanionic 4,5‐dicarboxyimidazole ligands, and by two O atoms from two coordinated water molecules, in a distorted octahedral geometry. The 4,4′‐bipyridine solvent molecule is not involved in coordination but is linked by an N—H⋯N hydrogen bond to the neutral [Co(C5H3N2O4)2(H2O)2] molecule. Both molecules are located on inversion centers. The crystal packing is stabilized by N—H⋯N and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which produce a three‐dimensional hydrogen‐bonded network. Offset π–π stacking interactions between the pyridine rings of adjacent 4,4′‐bipyridine molecules were observed, with a face‐to‐face distance of 3.345 (1) Å.  相似文献

A series of Pd and Pd‐Ga bimetallic catalysts were prepared by a co‐impregnation method for 2‐ethylanthraquinone (EAQ) hydrogenation to produce hydrogen peroxide. Compared with 0.6Pd catalyst, the hydrogenation efficiency of 0.6Pd1.2Ga catalyst (11.9 g L?1) increases by 32.2%, and the stability of 0.6Pd1.2Ga catalyst is also higher than that of 0.6Pd catalyst. The structures of the samples were determined by N2 adsorption–desorption, ICP, XRD, CO chemisorption, TEM, H2‐TPR, in situ CO‐DRIFTS and XPS. The results suggest that incorporation of Ga species improves Pd dispersion and generates a strong interaction between Ga2O3 and Pd interface or between Pd and support. DFT calculation results indicate that the strong adsorption of carbonyl group on Ga2O3/Pd interface facilitates the activation of EAQ and promotes the hydrogenation efficiency.  相似文献

Asymmetric reduction of 2‐chloro‐3‐oxo esters was achieved by catalytic transfer hydrogenation using [RuCl2(p‐cymene)](S,S)‐TsDPEN as the chiral catalyst and HCOOH‐Et3N as the hydrogen source. Moderate to good yields (up to 85%) and good enantioselectivities (up to 98% ee) were obtained.  相似文献

In the search for alternative materials to current expensive catalysts, Ni has been addressed as one of the most promising and, on this trail, its corresponding nitride. However, nickel nitride is a thermally unstable compound, and therefore not easy to prepare especially as nanoparticles. In the present work, a sol–gel‐based process (the urea glass route) is applied to prepare well‐defined and homogeneous Ni3N and Ni nanoparticles. In both cases, the prepared crystalline nanoparticles (~25 nm) are dispersed in a carbon matrix forming interesting Ni3N‐ and Ni‐based composites. These nanocomposites were characterised by means of several techniques, such as XRD, HR‐TEM, EELS, and the reaction mechanism was investigated by TGA and IR and herein discussed. The catalytic activity of Ni3N is investigated for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, for hydrogenation reactions involving H2, and here compared to the one of Ni. Both materials show good catalytic activities but, interestingly, give a different selectivity between different functional groups (namely, nitro, alkene and nitrile groups).  相似文献

The title compound, [Co(C6H9O4)2(C12H12N2)(H2O)2]n, crystallizes in the space group P. The Co atom is on a center of symmetry and the 1,2‐di‐4‐pyridylethane (bpe) ligand also sits across a crystallographic inversion center. The Co atom is octahedrally coordinated by two aqua ligands, two carboxylate O atoms and two pyridyl N atoms, and is bridged by the anti‐bpe ligands to generate one‐dimensional {[Co(Hadip)2(H2O)2](bpe)2/2} chains (Hadip is 5‐carboxypentanoate), which are further interlinked by O—H⋯O and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds into two‐dimensional layers.  相似文献

The preparation of dinuclear rhodium clusters and their use as catalysts is challenging because these clusters are unstable, evolving readily into species with higher nuclearities. We now present a novel synthetic route to generate rhodium dimers on the surface of MgO by a stoichiometrically simple surface‐mediated reaction involving [Rh(C2H4)2] species and H2. X‐ray absorption and IR spectra were used to characterize the changes in the nuclearity of the essentially molecular surface species as they formed, including the ligands on the rhodium and the metal‐support interactions. The support plays a key role in stabilizing the dinuclear rhodium species, allowing the incorporation of small ligands (ethyl, hydride, and/or CO) and enabling a characterization of the catalytic performance of the supported species for the hydrogenation of ethylene as a function of the metal nuclearity and ligand environment. A change in the nuclearity from one to two Rh atoms leads to a 58‐fold increase in the catalytic activity for ethylene hydrogenation, a reaction involving unsaturated, but stable, dimeric rhodium species.  相似文献
