A novel microwave dielectric powder with composition of Ca2Zn4Ti16O38 was synthesized through a citrate sol-gel process. The development of crystalline phases with heat-treating temperature for the gel derived powders was evaluated by using thermo-gravimetric analysis and X-ray powder diffraction analysis techniques. The pure phase of Ca2Zn4Ti16O38 with crichtonite crystal structure was obtained at relatively low temperature of 1000 °C. The synthesized powder has high reactivity and the dense ceramics with single crystalline phase were obtained at low sintering temperature of 1100 °C. Impedance spectroscopy and microwave dielectric measurements on sintered samples showed the present compound to be a modest dielectric insulator with excellent dielectric properties of εr∼47-49, Qf value ∼27,800-31,600 GHz and τf∼+45 to +50 ppm/°C. It shows comparable microwave dielectric properties to other moderate-permittivity microwave dielectrics, but much lower sintering temperature of 1100 °C.  相似文献

Samples of Bi1−xTbxFeO3, with x=0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 and 0.25, have been synthesised by solid state reaction. The crystal structures of the perovskite phases, characterised via Rietveld analysis of high resolution powder neutron diffraction data, reveal a structural transition from the R3c symmetry of the parent phase BiFeO3 to orthorhombic Pnma symmetry, which is complete for x=0.20. The x=0.10 and 0.15 samples are bi-phasic. The transition from a rhombohedral to orthorhombic unit cell is suggested to be driven by the dilution of the stereochemistry of the Bi3+ lone pair at the A-site. The G-type antiferromagnetic spin structure, the size of the ordered magnetic moment (∼3.8 μB) and the TN (∼375 °C) are relatively insensitive to increasing Tb concentrations at the A-site.  相似文献

The compound CeAu0.28Ge1.72 crystallizes in the ThSi2 structure type in the tetragonal space group I41/amd with lattice parameters a=b=4.2415(6) Å c=14.640(3) Å. CeAu0.28Ge1.72 is a polar intermetallic compound having a three-dimensional Ge/Au polyanion sub-network filled with Ce atoms. The magnetic susceptibility data show Curie-Weiss law behavior above 50 K. The compound orders ferromagnetically at ∼8 K with estimated magnetic moment of 2.48 μB/Ce. The ferromagnetic ordering is confirmed by the heat capacity data which show a rise at ∼8 K. The electronic specific heat coefficient (γ) value obtained from the paramagnetic temperature range 15-25 K is∼124(5) mJ/ mol K2. The entropy change due to the ferromagnetic transition is ∼4.2 J/mol K which is appreciably reduced compared to the value of R ln(2) expected for a crystal-field-split doublet ground state and/or Kondo exchange interactions.  相似文献

We have performed an investigation of the structural, microstructural and magnetic properties of the new compound IrSr2GdCu2O8. The sample was prepared under high temperature (∼1393 K) and high-pressure conditions (∼60 Kbars) in a Belt type apparatus. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that this irido-cuprate is isostructural with the corresponding Ru-1212 phase. Structurally, this material shows an interesting hierarchy of ordering phenomena, whose observation actually depends on the technique used to analyze the material: from a “simple” cell ap×ap×3ap which is supported by XRD, through a “diagonal” one, as seen by SAED, to a microdomain texture of this last one cell supported by HREM. A ferrimagnetic IrIV-GdIII spin ordering is observed below 15 K. The iridium oxidation state seems to be +4.  相似文献

The magnetic structure of the Fe2P-type R6CoTe2 phases (R=Gd-Er, space group P6¯2m) has been investigated through magnetization measurement and neutron powder diffraction. All phases demonstrate high-temperature ferromagnetic and low-temperature transitions: TC=220 K and TCN=180 K for Gd6CoTe2, TC=174 K and TCN=52 K for Tb6CoTe2, TC=125 K and TCN=26 K for Dy6CoTe2, TCN=60 K and TN=22 K for Ho6CoTe2 and TCN∼30 K and TN∼14 K for Er6CoTe2.Between 174 and 52 K Tb6CoTe2 has a collinear magnetic structure with K0=[0, 0, 0] and with magnetic moments along the c-axis, whereas below 52 K it adopts a non-collinear ferromagnetic one.Below 60 K the magnetic structure of Ho6CoTe2 is that of a non-collinear ferromagnet. The holmium magnetic components with a K0=[0, 0, 0] wave vector are aligned ferromagneticaly along the c-axis, whereas the magnetic component with a K1=[1/2, 1/2, 0] wave vector are arranged in the ab plane. The low-temperature magnetic transition at ∼22 K coincides with the reorientation of the Ho magnetic component with the K0 vector from the collinear to the non-collinear state.Below 30 K Er6CoTe2 shows an amplitude-modulate magnetic structure with a collinear arrangement of magnetic components with K0=[0, 0, 0] and K1=[1/2, 1/2, 0]. The low-temperature magnetic transition at ∼14 K corresponds to the variation in the magnitudes of the MErK0 and MErK1 magnetic components. In these phases, no local moment was detected on the cobalt site. The magnetic entropy of Gd6CoTe2 increases from ΔSmag=−4.5 J/kg K at 220 K up to ΔSmag=−6.5 J/kg K at 180 K for the field change Δμ0H=0-5 T.  相似文献

Large samples (6-8 g) of Yb11Sb10 and Ca11Sb10 have been synthesized using a high-temperature (1275-1375 K) flux method. These compounds are isostructural to Ho11Ge10, crystallizing in the body-centered, tetragonal unit cell, space group I4/mmm, with Z=4. The structure consists of antimony dumbbells and squares, reminiscent of Zn4Sb3 and filled Skutterudite (e.g., LaFe4Sb12) structures. In addition, these structures can be considered Zintl compounds; valence precise semiconductors with ionic contributions to the bonding. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetry (TG), resistivity (ρ), Seebeck coefficient (α), thermal conductivity (κ), and thermoelectric figure of merit (zT) from room temperature to at minimum 975 K are presented for A11Sb10 (A=Yb, Ca). DSC/TG were measured to 1400 K and reveal the stability of these compounds to ∼1200 K. Both A11Sb10 (A=Yb, Ca) materials exhibit remarkably low lattice thermal conductivity (∼10 mW/cm K for both Yb11Sb10 and Ca11Sb10) that can be attributed to the complex crystal structure. Yb11Sb10 is a poor metal with relatively low resistivity (1.4 mΩ cm at 300 K), while Ca11Sb10 is a semiconductor suggesting that a gradual metal-insulator transition may be possible from a Ca11−xYbxSb10 solid solution. The low values and the temperature dependence of the Seebeck coefficients for both compounds suggest that bipolar conduction produces a compensated Seebeck coefficient and consequently a low zT.  相似文献

The phases Bi14MO24 (M=Cr, Mo, W) have been studied using differential scanning calorimetry, variable temperature X-ray powder diffraction and neutron powder diffraction. All three compounds were found to undergo a phase change, on cooling, from the previously reported tetragonal symmetry (I4/m) to monoclinic symmetry (C2/m). Transition temperatures were determined to be ∼306 K (M=W) and ∼295 K (M=Mo), whereas a gradual transition between 275 and 200 K was observed for M=Cr. The high and low temperature structures are very similar, as indicated by the relationship between the monoclinic and tetragonal unit cell parameters: am=√2at, bm=ct, cm=at, β∼135°. High-resolution neutron powder diffraction data, collected at 400 and 4 K, were used to establish the nature of the transition, which was found to involve a reduction in the statistical possibilities for orientation of the MO4 tetrahedra. However, in both tetragonal and monoclinic variants, a degree of orientational disorder of the tetrahedra occurs to give partially occupied sites in the average unit cell.  相似文献

A new pillared perovskite compound La5Mo2.76(4)V1.25(4)O16, has been synthesized by solid-state reaction and its crystal structure has been characterized using powder X-ray and neutron diffraction. The magnetic properties of this compound have been investigated using SQUID magnetometry, and the magnetic structure has been studied using neutron diffraction data. A theoretical calculation of relative strengths of spin interactions among different magnetic ions and through different pathways has been performed using extended Hückel, spin dimer analysis. The crystal structure of this material contains perovskite-type layers that are connected through edge-sharing dimeric units of octahedra. The structure is described in space group C2/m with unit cell parameters a=7.931(2) Å, b=7.913(2) Å, c=10.346(5) Å and β=95.096(5)°. The material shows both short-range ferrimagnetic correlations from ∼200 to 110 K and long-range antiferromagnetic order below Tc∼100 K. The magnetic structure was investigated by neutron diffraction and is described by k=(0 0 ) as for other pillared perovskites. It consists of a ferrimagnetic arrangement of Mo and V within the layers that are coupled antiferromagnetically between layers. This is the first magnetic structure determination for any Mo-based pillared perovskite.  相似文献

The crystal and magnetic structures of the brownmillerite material, Ca2Fe1.039(8)Mn0.962(8)O5 were investigated using powder X-ray and neutron diffraction methods, the latter from 3.8 to 700 K. The compound crystallizes in Pnma space group with unit cell parameters of a=5.3055(5) Å, b=15.322(2) Å, c=5.4587(6) Å at 300 K. The neutron diffraction study revealed the occupancies of Fe3+ and Mn3+ ions in both octahedral and tetrahedral sites and showed some intersite mixing and a small, ∼4%, Fe excess. While bulk magnetization data were inconclusive, variable temperature neutron diffraction measurements showed the magnetic transition temperature to be 407(2) K below which a long range antiferromagnetic ordering of spins occurs with ordering wave vector k=(000). The spins of each ion are coupled antiferromagnetically with the nearest neighbors within the same layer and coupled antiparallel to the closest ions from the neighboring layer. This combination of intra- and inter-layer antiparallel arrangement of spins forms a G-type magnetic structure. The ordered moments on the octahedral and tetrahedral sites at 3.8 K are 3.64(16) and 4.23(16) μB, respectively.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and elementary properties of the Co7Se8−xSx (x=0-8) and Ni7Se8−xSx (x=0-7) solid solutions. Both systems form a NiAs-type structure with metal vacancies. In general, the lattice parameters decrease with increasing x, but in the Ni7Se8−xSx system c increases on going from x=5 to 7. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show that all samples exhibit temperature-independent paramagnetism from 25-250 K. Samples within the Co7Se8−xSx system, as well as Ni7Se8 and Ni7SeS7, were found to be poor metals with resistivities of ∼0.20 and ∼0.06 mΩ cm at 300 K, respectively. The Sommerfeld constant (γ) was determined from specific heat measurements to be ∼13 mJ/molCoK2 and ∼7 mJ/molNiK2 for Co7Se8−xSx and Ni7Se8−xSx, respectively.  相似文献

The isostructural alkali thioferrate compounds CsFe2S3, RbFe2S3 and KFe2S3 have been synthesized by reacting Fe and S with their corresponding AFeS2 (A=K, Rb, Cs) precursors. The crystal structures of these and binary compounds of intermediate composition were determined by Rietveld analysis of laboratory powder X-ray diffraction patterns. All of the synthesized compounds adopt the space group Cmcm (#63), Z=4 with: a=9.5193(8) Å, b=11.5826(10) Å, c=5.4820(4) Å for CsFe2S3; a=9.2202(7) Å, b=11.2429(9) Å, c=5.4450(3) Å for RbFe2S3; and a=9.0415(13) Å, b=11.0298(17) Å, c=5.4177(6) Å for KFe2S3. These mixed valence alkali thioferrates show regular changes in cell dimensions, AS10 (A=K, Rb, Cs) polyhedron volumes, polyhedron distortion parameters, and calculated oxidation state of Fe with respect to increasing size of the alkali element cation. The calculated empirical oxidation state of iron varies from +2.618 (CsFe2S3), through +2.666 (RbFe2S3) to +2.77 (KFe2S3).  相似文献

A monophasic sample of Ag2MnSn3S8 has been prepared by heating stoichiometric amounts of the constituent metals and sulfur in evacuated silica tubes at 670°C. Structural analysis of Ag2MnSn3S8 using Rietveld refinement of powder X-ray diffraction data shows that it crystallizes in the space group with a=10.6984(2) Å. Magnetization measurements in the temperature range 5-300 K indicate paramagnetic behavior with a μeff of 5.80 μB, consistent with the divalent nature of manganese. Electrochemical studies show a coulombic capacity of ∼50 Ah kg−1 for the cell constructed with Ag2MnSn3S8 as the positive electrode.  相似文献

The anion-excess ordered fluorite-related phase Ba4Bi3F17 has been synthesized by a solid state reaction of BaF2 and BiF3 at 873 K. The crystal structure of Ba4Bi3F17 has been studied using electron diffraction and X-ray powder diffraction (a=11.2300(2) Å, c=20.7766(5) Å, S.G. , RI=0.020, RP=0.036). Interstitial fluorine atoms in the Ba4Bi3F17 structure are considered to form isolated cuboctahedral 8 : 12 : 1 clusters. The structural relationship between Ba4Bi3F17 and similar rare-earth-based phases is discussed.  相似文献

Quaternary chalcogenides InSn2Bi3Se8 and In0.2Sn6Bi1.8Se9 were synthesized on direct combination of their elements in stoichiometric ratios at T>800 °C under vacuum. Their structures were determined with X-ray diffraction of single crystals. InSn2Bi3Se8 crystallizes in monoclinic space group C2/m (No. 12) with a=13.557(3) Å, b=4.1299(8) Å, c=15.252(3) Å, β=115.73(3)°, V=769.3(3) Å3, Z=2, and R1/wR2/GOF=0.0206/0.0497/1.092; In0.2Sn6Bi1.8Se9 crystallizes in orthorhombic space group Cmc21 (No. 36) with a=4.1810(8) Å, b=13.799(3) Å, c=31.953(6) Å, V=1843.4(6) Å3, Z=4, and R1/wR2/GOF=0.0966/0.2327/1.12. InSn2Bi3Se8 and In0.2Sn6Bi1.8Se9 are isostructural with CuBi5S8 and Bi2Pb6S9 phases, respectively. The structures of InSn2Bi3Se8 and In0.2Sn6Bi1.8Se9 feature a three-dimensional framework containing slabs of NaCl-(311) type with varied thicknesses. Calculations of the electronic structure and measurements of electrical conductivity indicate that these materials are semiconductors with narrow band gaps. Both compounds show n-type semiconducting properties with Seebeck coefficients −270 and −230 μV/K at 300 K for InSn2Bi3Se8 and In0.2Sn6Bi1.8Se9, respectively.  相似文献

The title compounds and their deuterides have been prepared by solid-state and solid-gas reactions from the elements and investigated by X-ray and neutron powder diffraction as a function of temperature. At room temperature they crystallize with an anion-deficient cubic K2PtCl6-type structure (space group ) in which five hydrogen (deuterium) atoms surround iridium randomly on six octahedral sites with average bond distances of Ir-D=169-171 pm. At low temperature they undergo a tetragonal deformation (space group I4/mmm) to the partially ordered Sr2IrD5 (T=4.2K)-type structure in which four hydrogen (deuterium) atoms occupy planar sites with full occupancy (Ir-D=166-170 pm) and two hydrogen (deuterium) atoms axial sites (Ir-D=174-181 pm) with ∼50% occupancy, i.e., the data are consistent with a mixture of square-pyramidal [IrD5]4− complexes pointing in two opposite directions. The transitions occur at ∼240 K (Eu0.5Ca1.5IrD5, Eu0.5Sr1.5IrD5), ∼210 K (EuSrIrD5), ∼200 K (EuCaIrD5, Eu2IrD5), and are presumably of first order.  相似文献

Subsolidus phase relations have been determined for the Bi2O3-Fe2O3-Nb2O5 system in air (900-1075 °C). Three new ternary phases were observed—Bi3Fe0.5Nb1.5O9 with an Aurivillius-type structure, and two phases with approximate stoichiometries Bi17Fe2Nb31O106 and Bi17Fe3Nb30O105 that appear to be structurally related to Bi8Nb18O57. The fourth ternary phase found in this system is pyrochlore (A2B2O6O′), which forms an extensive solid solution region at Bi-deficient stoichiometries (relative to Bi2FeNbO7) suggesting that ≈4-15% of the A-sites are occupied by Fe3+. X-ray powder diffraction data confirmed that all Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlores form with positional displacements, as found for analogous pyrochlores with Zn, Mn, or Co instead of Fe. A structural refinement of the pyrochlore 0.4400:0.2700:0.2900 Bi2O3:Fe2O3:Nb2O5 using neutron powder diffraction data is reported with the A cations displaced (0.43 Å) to 96g sites and O′ displaced (0.29 Å) to 32e sites (Bi1.721Fe0.190(Fe0.866Nb1.134)O7, Fdm (#227), ). This displacive model is somewhat different from that reported for Bi1.5Zn0.92Nb1.5O6.92, which exhibits twice the concentration of small B-type cations on the A-sites as the Fe system. Bi-Fe-Nb-O pyrochlores exhibited overall paramagnetic behavior with large negative Curie-Weiss temperature intercepts, slight superparamagnetic effects, and depressed observed moments compared to high-spin, spin-only values. The single-phase pyrochlore with composition Bi1.657Fe1.092Nb1.150O7 exhibited low-temperature dielectric relaxation similar to that observed for Bi1.5Zn0.92Nb1.5O6.92; at 1 MHz and 200 K the relative permittivity was 125, and above 350 K conductive effects were observed.  相似文献

The synthesis, structure and microstructure of the IrSr2TbCu2O8 cuprate showing metamagnetic properties are described. The sample was prepared at high temperatures and pressures up to 9.2 GPa. The structure is tetragonal, showing a 1212 type structure, that derives from the classical YBaCuO superconductor structure, replacing the tetracoordinated square planar copper [Cu-O4] in the “chains” by octahedral [Ir-O6] groups that form a perovskite-like layer in the basal plane of the unit cell. A “simple” cell, ∼ap×ap×3ap, where ap is the basic perovskite unit cell parameter (ap∼3.8 Å), is supported by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and a so-called “diagonal” one, ∼√2ap×√2ap×3ap, by SAED; a microdomain texture of latter cell and a series of very interesting extended defects have been observed by HREM. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show a magnetic transition, TN∼6 K, with negative Weiss temperature, that indicates antiferromagnetic interactions among the Tb moments. The magnetic structure has been determined by neutron diffraction. A detailed magnetic study has revealed a metamagnetic behavior, something not previously observed in this type of cuprates. Specific heat and resistivity measurements have also been performed to characterize the transition.  相似文献

Two non-stoichiometric Gd compounds, GdCu5−xTrx (Tr=Al, Ga) have been synthesized from the corresponding elements by high temperature reactions in sealed tantalum containers. They crystallize in the hexagonal CaCu5-type (Pearson's symbol hP6, space group P6/mmm, No. 191) with lattice parameters determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction at room temperature as follows: a=5.0831(10) Å; c=4.156(2) Å for GdCu3.98(4)Al1.02(4), and a=5.1025(10) Å; c=4.155(2) Å for GdCu3.9(1)Ga1.1(1), respectively. Structure refinements from single crystal X-ray diffraction data reveal that substitution of Cu for Al or Ga takes place preferably on one of the two transition metal sites with site symmetry mmm (3g). Both compounds order antiferromagnetically below ∼40 K and ∼36 K, respectively, as determined from temperature dependent dc-magnetization, resistivity and heat-capacity measurements.  相似文献

The partial substitution of Al by Fe atoms in SrAl2O4 allowed to stabilize four stuffed tridymite derivative structures SrAl1.5Fe0.5O4. The different phases have been characterized by TEM and XRPD techniques. Two are isotypes of those observed for the undoped oxides, namely the hexagonal phase with A×A×C (with A and C being the tridymite unit cell parameters) and space group P63 and the monoclinic one with A×A×C, β≈93° and space group P21, with a synthesis temperature lower than the one required for SrAl2O4. By annealing, two original phases, denoted O1 and O2, are obtained; they are metrically similar (3A×A×C and β≈90°) and only differ by their space groups. The TEM study showed that the transitions between the different phases follow topotactic mechanisms, through the formation of twinning boundaries, antiphase boundaries and planar defects. The annealed sample exhibits a mesomorph state and a reversible transition from this semi-ordered state to a crystalline phase. This dynamic transition takes place over a very wide temperature range from 620 to 1120 °C. The reversibility of the transition has been studied by DSC measurements. The crystallization energy of the orthorhombic phases is of the order of 10 J/g, at T≈622 °C as T decreases. The variation of the peak height observed as the annealing temperature increases is explained by the complex microstructures, which create an ill-defined energy barrier. Structural models related to the stuffed tridymite derivative structures are proposed for the new forms of the ferri-aluminate.  相似文献

Li2CoTi3O8 has an ordered Li2BB′3O8 spinel structure, space group P4332, at room temperature with 3:1 ordering of Ti and Li on the octahedral sites, and Li, Co disordered over the tetrahedral site. Rietveld refinement of variable temperature neutron powder diffraction data has shown an order-disorder phase transition in Li2CoTi3O8 which commences at ∼500 °C with Li and Co mixing on the tetrahedral and 4-fold octahedral sites and is complete at a first order structural discontinuity at ∼915 °C. The fraction of Ti on the 12-fold octahedral site exhibits a small decrease with increasing temperature, which may suggest that the disordering involves all three cations. Above 930 °C, the structure, space group Fdm, has Li, Co and Ti sharing a single-octahedral site and Li, Co sharing a tetrahedral site, although Co still exhibits a preference for tetrahedral coordination. A labelling scheme for ordered and partially ordered 3:1 spinels is devised which focuses on the occupancy of the Li,B cations.  相似文献
