Generalized table algebras were introduced in Arad, Fisman and Muzychuk (Israel J. Math. 114 (1999), 29–60) as an axiomatic closure of some algebraic properties of the Bose-Mesner algebras of association schemes. In this note we show that if all non-trivial degrees of a generalized integral table algebra are even, then the number of real basic elements of the algebra is bounded from below (Theorem 2.2). As a consequence we obtain some interesting facts about association schemes the non-trivial valencies of which are even. For example, we proved that if all non-identical relations of an association scheme have the same valency which is even, then the scheme is symmetric.  相似文献

The character theory of table algebras is not as good as the character theory of finite groups. We introduce the notion of a table algebra with a central-fusion, in which the character theory has better properties. We study conditions under which a table algebra (A,B) has a central-fusion, and its central-fusion is exactly isomorphic to the wreath product of the central-fusion of a quotient table algebra of (A,B) and another table algebra. As a consequence, we obtain a complete characterization of table algebras with exactly one irreducible character whose degree and multiplicity are not equal. Applications to association schemes are also discussed.  相似文献

A table algebra was defined in [1] in order to consider in a uniform way the common properties of conjugacy classes and irreducible characters. Non-commutative table algebras were introduced in [5]. They generalize properties of such well-known objects as coherent and Hecke algebras. Here we extend the main definition of a non-commutative table algebra by letting the ground field be an integral domain. We call these algebrasgeneralized table algebras (GT-algebras, in brief). It is worth mentioning that this class of algebras includes generic Hecke-Iwahori algebras of finite Coxeter groups. We develop the general theory for this type of algebras which includes their representation theory and theory of closed subsets. We also study the properties of primitive integral table algebras. This research was done at the Gelbart and Minerva Foundations through the Emmy Noether Research Institute for Mathematical Science at Bar-Ilan University. We introduce the concept of fusion algebras at algebraic level, as a purely algebraic concept for the fusion algebras which appear in conformal field theory in mathematical physics. We first discuss the connection between fusion algebras at algebraic level and character algebras, a purely algebraic concept for Bose-Mesner algebras of association schemes. Through this correspondence, we establish the condition when the matrix S of a fusion algebra at algebraic level is unitary or symmetric. We construct integral fusion algebras at algebraic level, from association schemes, in particular from group association schemes, whose matrix S is unitary and symmetric. Finally, we consider whether the modular invariance property is satisfied or not, namely whether there exists a diagonal matrix T satisfying the condition (ST)3 = S 2. We prove that this property does not hold for some integral fusion algebras at algebraic level coming from the group association scheme of certain groups of order 64, and we also prove that the (nonintegral) fusion algebra at algebraic level obtained from the Hamming association scheme H(d, q) has the modular invariance property.  相似文献

We study associative graded algebras that have a “complete flag” of cyclic modules with linear free resolutions, i.e., algebras over which there exist cyclic Koszul modules with any possible number of relations (from zero to the number of generators of the algebra). Commutative algebras with this property were studied in several papers by Conca and others. Here we present a noncommutative version of their construction.We introduce and study the notion of Koszul filtration in a noncommutative algebra and examine its connections with Koszul algebras and algebras with quadratic Grobner bases. We consider several examples, including monomial algebras, initially Koszul algebras, generic algebras, and algebras with one quadratic relation. The well-known Cartan–Jacobson theorem claims that the Lie algebra of derivations of a Cayley algebra is central simple if the characteristic is not 2 or 3. In this paper we have studied these two cases, with the following results: if the characteristic is 2, the theorem is also true, but, if the characteristic is 3, the derivation algebra is not simple. We have also proved that in this last case, there is a unique nonzero proper seven-dimensional ideal, which is a central simple Lie algebra of type A2, and the quotient of the derivation algebra modulo this ideal turns out to be isomorphic, as a Lie algebra, to the ideal itself. The original motivation of this work was a series of computer-aided calculations which proved the simplicity of derivation algebras of Cayley algebras in the case of characteristic not 3. These computations also proved the existence of a unique nonzero proper ideal (which turns out to be seven-dimensional) in the algebra of derivations of split Cayley algebras in characteristic 3.  相似文献

We continue to modify and simplify the Ising-Onsager-Zhang procedure for analyzing simple orthorhombic Ising lattices by considering some fractal structures in connection with Jordan and Clifford algebras and by following Jordan-von Neumann-Wigner (JNW) approach. We concentrate on duality of complete and perfect JNW-systems, in particular ternary systems, analyze algebras of complete JNW-systems, and prove that in the case of a composition algebra we have a self-dual perfect JNW-system related to quaternion or octonion algebras. In this context, we are interested in the product table of the sedenion algebra.  相似文献

For any complex 6-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra \mathfrakg,\mathfrak{g}, we compute the strain of all indecomposable 7-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras which contain \mathfrakg\mathfrak{g} by the adjoining a derivation method. We get a new determination of all 7-dimensional complex nilpotent Lie algebras, allowing to check earlier results (some contain errors), along with a cross table intertwining nilpotent 6- and 7-dimensional Lie algebras.  相似文献

The construction of the sum of a direct (semilattice ordered) system of algebras introduced by J. Plonka – later known as the Plonka sum – is one of the most important methods of composition in universal algebra, having a number of applications in different algebraic theories, such as semigroup theory, semiring theory, etc. In this paper we present a more general way for constructing algebras with involution, that is, algebraic systems equipped with a unary involutorial operation which is at the same time an antiautomorphism of the underlying algebra. It is the sum – involutorial Plonka sum, as we call it – of an involution semilattice ordered system of algebras. We investigate its basic properties, as well as the problem of its subdirect decomposition.  相似文献

The motivation of this paper is to study the natural quiver of an artinian algebra, a new kind of quivers, as a tool independing upon the associated basic algebra. In Li (J Aust Math Soc 83:385–416, 2007), the notion of the natural quiver of an artinian algebra was introduced and then was used to generalize the Gabriel theorem for non-basic artinian algebras splitting over radicals and non-basic finite dimensional algebras with 2-nilpotent radicals via pseudo path algebras and generalized path algebras respectively. In this paper, firstly we consider the relationship between the natural quiver and the ordinary quiver of a finite dimensional algebra. Secondly, the generalized Gabriel theorem is obtained for radical-graded artinian algebras. Moreover, Gabriel-type algebras are introduced to outline those artinian algebras satisfying the generalized Gabriel theorem here and in Li (J Aust Math Soc 83:385–416, 2007). For such algebras, the uniqueness of the related generalized path algebra and quiver holds up to isomorphism in the case when the ideal is admissible. For an artinian algebra, there are two basic algebras, the first is that associated to the algebra itself; the second is that associated to the correspondent generalized path algebra. In the final part, it is shown that for a Gabriel-type artinian algebra, the first basic algebra is a quotient of the second basic algebra. In the end, we give an example of a skew group algebra in which the relation between the natural quiver and the ordinary quiver is discussed.  相似文献

Lattice congruences, fans and Hopf algebras   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We give a unified explanation of the geometric and algebraic properties of two well-known maps, one from permutations to triangulations, and another from permutations to subsets. Furthermore we give a broad generalization of the maps. Specifically, for any lattice congruence of the weak order on a Coxeter group we construct a complete fan of convex cones with strong properties relative to the corresponding lattice quotient of the weak order. We show that if a family of lattice congruences on the symmetric groups satisfies certain compatibility conditions then the family defines a sub Hopf algebra of the Malvenuto–Reutenauer Hopf algebra of permutations. Such a sub Hopf algebra has a basis which is described by a type of pattern avoidance. Applying these results, we build the Malvenuto–Reutenauer algebra as the limit of an infinite sequence of smaller algebras, where the second algebra in the sequence is the Hopf algebra of non-commutative symmetric functions. We also associate both a fan and a Hopf algebra to a set of permutations which appears to be equinumerous with the Baxter permutations.  相似文献

In a previous paper (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris Sér. I 333 (2001) 763–768), the author introduced a notion of compatibility between a Poisson structure and a pseudo-Riemannian metric. In this paper, we introduce a new class of Lie algebras called pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebras. The two notions are closely related: we prove that the dual of a Lie algebra endowed with its canonical linear Poisson structure carries a compatible pseudo-Riemannian metric if and only if the Lie algebra is a pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebra. Moreover, the Lie algebra obtained by linearizing at a point a Poisson manifold with a compatible pseudo-Riemannian metric is a pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebra. We also give some properties of the symplectic leaves of such manifolds, and we prove that every Poisson manifold with a compatible Riemannian metric is unimodular. Finally, we study Poisson Lie groups endowed with a compatible pseudo-Riemannian metric, and we give the classification of all pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebras of dimension 2 and 3.  相似文献

Double Frobenius algebras (or dF-algebras) were recently introduced by the author. The concept generalizes finite-dimensional Hopf algebras, adjacency algebras of (non-commutative) association schemes, and C-algebras (or character algebras). In this paper we define a dualization construction of a dF-algebra, the so-called linear dual. We show that in the case of a Hopf algebra the linear dual gives the usual dual Hopf algebra and in the case of a C-algebra it essentially gives the usual Kawada’s dual.  相似文献

Weak effect algebras were introduced by the author as a generalization of effect algebras and pseudoeffect algebras. It was shown that having a basic algebra, we can restrict its binary operation to orthogonal elements only and what we get is just a weak effect algebra. However, the converse construction is impossible due to the fact that the underlying poset of a basic algebra is a lattice which need not be true for weak effect algebras. Hence, we found a weaker structure than a basic algebra which can serve as a representation of a weak effect algebra.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to present several techniques of constructing a lattice-ordered effect algebra from a given family of lattice-ordered effect algebras, and to study the structure of finite lattice-ordered effect algebras. Firstly, we prove that any finite MV-effect algebra can be obtained by substituting the atoms of some Boolean algebra by linear MV-effect algebras. Then some conditions which can guarantee that the pasting of a family of effect algebras is an effect algebra are provided. At last, we prove that any finite lattice-ordered effect algebra E without atoms of type 2 can be obtained by substituting the atoms of some orthomodular lattice by linear MV-effect algebras. Furthermore, we give a way how to paste a lattice-ordered effect algebra from the family of MV-effect algebras.  相似文献
