Recently, Suzuki [T. Suzuki, A generalized Banach contraction principle that characterizes metric completeness, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 136 (2008), 1861-1869] proved a fixed point theorem that is a generalization of the Banach contraction principle and characterizes the metric completeness. Paesano and Vetro [D. Paesano and P. Vetro, Suzuki's type characterizations of completeness for partial metric spaces and fixed points for partially ordered metric spaces, Topology Appl., 159 (2012), 911-920] proved an analogous fixed point result for a self-mapping on a partial metric space that characterizes the partial metric 0-completeness. In this article, we introduce the notion of partial G-metric spaces and prove a result of Suzuki type in the setting of partial G-metric spaces. We deduce also a result of common fixed point.  相似文献

Recently, Suzuki [T. Suzuki, A generalized Banach contraction principle that characterizes metric completeness, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 136 (2008) 1861-1869] proved a fixed point theorem that is a generalization of the Banach contraction principle and characterizes the metric completeness. In this paper we prove an analogous fixed point result for a self-mapping on a partial metric space or on a partially ordered metric space. Our results on partially ordered metric spaces generalize and extend some recent results of Ran and Reurings [A.C.M. Ran, M.C. Reurings, A fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets and some applications to matrix equations, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 132 (2004) 1435-1443], Nieto and Rodríguez-López [J.J. Nieto, R. Rodríguez-López, Contractive mapping theorems in partially ordered sets and applications to ordinary differential equations, Order 22 (2005) 223-239]. We deduce, also, common fixed point results for two self-mappings. Moreover, using our results, we obtain a characterization of partial metric 0-completeness in terms of fixed point theory. This result extends Suzuki?s characterization of metric completeness.  相似文献

We prove a fixed point theorem that is a very simple generalization of the Banach contraction principle and characterizes the metric completeness of the underlying space. We also discuss the Meir-Keeler fixed point theorem.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of partial b-metric spaces as a generalization of partial metric and b-metric spaces. An analog to Banach contraction principle, as well as a Kannan type fixed point result is proved in such spaces. Some examples are given which illustrate the results.  相似文献

Samet and Vetro [Samet B, Vetro C. Berinde mappings in orbitally complete metric spaces. Chaos Solitons Fract 2011;44:1075–9.] studied a fixed point theorem for a self-mapping satisfying a general contractive condition of integral type in orbitally complete metric spaces. In this paper, we introduce the notion of a generalized ψ-weak contraction mapping and establish some results in orbitally complete metric spaces. Our results generalize several well-known comparable results in the literature. As an application of our results we deduce the result of Samet and Vetro. Some examples are given to illustrate the useability of our results.  相似文献

In S.G. Matthews [S.G. Matthews, Partial metric topology, in: Proc. 8th Summer Conference on General Topology and Applications, in: Ann. New York Acad. Sci., vol. 728, 1994, pp. 183–197], the author introduced and studied the concept of partial metric space, and obtained a Banach type fixed point theorem on complete partial metric spaces. In this work we study fixed point results for new extensions of Banach’s contraction principle to partial metric space, and we give some generalized versions of the fixed point theorem of Matthews. The theory is illustrated by some examples.  相似文献

In this paper a new class of self-mappings on metric spaces, which satisfy the nonexpensive type condition (3) below is introduced and investigated. The main result is that such mappings have a unique fixed point. Also, a remetrization theorem, which is converse to Banach contraction principle is given.27. march 80  相似文献

Some common fixed point results in cone metric spaces of C. Di Bari and P. Vetro [C. Di Bari, P. Vetro, φ-pairs and common fixed points in cone metric spaces, Rend. Cir. Mat. Palermo 57 (2008), 279-285] as well as P. Raja and S.M. Vaezpour [P. Raja, S.M. Vaezpour, Some extensions of Banach’s Contraction Principle in complete metric spaces, Fixed Point Theory Appl. (2008), doi:10.1155/2008/768294] are extended using generalized contractive-type conditions and cones which may be nonnormal. Cone metric versions of several well-known results, such as Boyd-Wong’s theorem [D.W. Boyd, J.S. Wong, On nonlinear contractions, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 20 (1969), 458-464], are obtained as special cases.  相似文献

In this paper, common fixed point theorems for four mappings satisfying a generalized nonlinear contraction type condition on partial metric spaces are proved. Presented theorems extend the very recent results of I. Altun, F. Sola and H. Simsek [Generalized contractions on partial metric spaces, Topology and its applications 157 (18) (2010) 2778-2785]. As application, some homotopy results for operators on a set endowed with a partial metric are given.  相似文献

In [Aghajani A, Abbas M, Roshan JR. Common fixed point of generalized weak contractive mappings in partially ordered Gb-metric spaces. Filomat, 2013, in press], using the concepts of G-metric and b-metric Aghajani et al. defined a new type of metric which is called generalized b-metric or Gb-metric. In this paper, we prove a common fixed point theorem for three mappings in Gb-metric space which is not continuous. An example is presented to verify the effectiveness and applicability of our main result.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove some fixed point theorems for generalized contractions in the setting of G-metric spaces. Our results extend a result of Edelstein [M. Edelstein, On fixed and periodic points under contractive mappings, J. London Math. Soc., 37 (1962), 74–79] and a result of Suzuki [T. Suzuki, A new type of fixed point theorem in metric spaces, Nonlinear Anal., 71 (2009), 5313–5317]. We prove, also, a fixed point theorem in the setting of G-cone metric spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, the famous Banach contraction principle and Caristi's fixed point theorem are generalized to the case of multi-valued mappings. Our results are extensions of the well-known Nadler's fixed point theorem [S.B. Nadler Jr., Multi-valued contraction mappings, Pacific J. Math. 30 (1969) 475-487], as well as of some Caristi type theorems for multi-valued operators, see [N. Mizoguchi, W. Takahashi, Fixed point theorems for multivalued mappings on complete metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 141 (1989) 177-188; J.P. Aubin, Optima and Equilibria. A new condition for mappings, called condition (C), which is more general than nonexpansiveness, was recently introduced by Suzuki [T. Suzuki, Fixed point theorems and convergence theorems for some generalized nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2008) 1088-1095]. Following the idea of Kirk and Massa Theorem in [W.A. Kirk, S. Massa, Remarks on asymptotic and Chebyshev centers, Houston J. Math. 16 (1990) 364-375], we prove a fixed point theorem for mappings with condition (C) on a Banach space such that its asymptotic center in a bounded closed and convex subset of each bounded sequence is nonempty and compact. This covers a result obtained by Suzuki [T. Suzuki, Fixed point theorems and convergence theorems for some generalized nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2008) 1088-1095]. We also present fixed point theorems for this class of mappings defined on weakly compact convex subsets of Banach spaces satisfying property (D). Consequently, we extend the results in [T. Suzuki, Fixed point theorems and convergence theorems for some generalized nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2008) 1088-1095] to many other Banach spaces.  相似文献

The fixed point theory of set-valued contractions which was initiated by Nadler [S.B. Nadler Jr., Multi-valued contraction mappings, Pacific J. Math. 30 (1969) 475-488] was developed in different directions by many authors, in particular, by [S. Reich, Fixed points of contractive functions, Boll. Unione Mat. Ital. 5 (1972) 26-42; N. Mizoguchi, W. Takahashi, Fixed point theorems for multivalued mappings on complete metric spaces, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 141 (1989) 177-188; Y. Feng, S. Liu, Fixed point theorems for multi-valued contractive mappings and multi-valued Caristi type mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 317 (2006) 103-112]. In the present paper, the concept of contraction for set-valued maps in metric spaces is introduced and the conditions guaranteeing the existence of a fixed point for such a contraction are established. One of our results essentially generalizes the Nadler and Feng-Liu theorems and is different from the Mizoguchi-Takahashi result. The second result is different from the Reich and Mizoguchi-Takahashi results. The method used in the proofs of our results is inspired by Mizoguchi-Takahashi and Feng-Liu's ideas. Comparisons and examples are given.  相似文献

The probabilistic version of the classical Banach Contraction Principle was proved in 1972 by Sehgal and Bharucha-Reid [V.M. Sehgal, A.T. Bharucha-Reid, Fixed points of contraction mappings on PM spaces. Math. Syst. Theory 6, 97–102]. Their fixed point theorem is further generalized by many authors. In the intervening years many others have proved the probabilistic versions of the other known metric fixed point theorems. However, the problem to prove the probabilistic versions of the very important generalization of the Banach Contraction Principle, obtained in 1969 by Boyd and Wong [D.W. Boyd, J.S.W. Wong, On nonlinear contractions, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 20 (1969) 458–464], who proved the fixed point theorem for a self-mapping of a metric space, satisfying the very general nonlinear contractive condition, is unsolved in these days. Similarly, as in the metric space case, to prove a fixed point theorem for a mapping, satisfying the general probabilistic nonlinear contractive condition, it was necessary to find a new approach, substantially different from the previous technique for cases where a mapping satisfies the probabilistic linear contraction condition, introduced by Sehgal and Bharucha-Reid and further used by many authors. So, the problem to obtain a truthful probabilistic version of the Banach fixed point principle for general nonlinear contractions existed unsolved for over 35 years. We have solved this problem in this paper.  相似文献

A note on cone metric fixed point theory and its equivalence   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The main aim of this paper is to investigate the equivalence of vectorial versions of fixed point theorems in generalized cone metric spaces and scalar versions of fixed point theorems in (general) metric spaces (in usual sense). We show that the Banach contraction principles in general metric spaces and in TVS-cone metric spaces are equivalent. Our theorems also extend some results in Huang and Zhang (2007) [L.-G. Huang, X. Zhang, Cone metric spaces and fixed point theorems of contractive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 332 (2007) 1468-1476], Rezapour and Hamlbarani (2008) [Sh. Rezapour, R. Hamlbarani, Some notes on the paper Cone metric spaces and fixed point theorems of contractive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 345 (2008) 719-724] and others.  相似文献
