This paper presents the results of a study of the frictional forces associated with the tangential harmonic displacements of a slider in the frequency range from 20 to 1000 Hz.On the basis of our experiments, we establish that the frictional interaction creates a normal periodic force which, in turn, creates normal vibrations leading to a change in the actual load and hence in the peak value of the force of friction.A change in the force of friction with the frequency of the tangential displacements has also been noted elsewhere [1]; however, the causes of this behavior have not previously been ascertained.We show that the force of friction depends significantly not only on the amplitude of the normal vibrations but also on the phase-frequency-relations between the vibrations in the normal and tangential directions.  相似文献

采用离散元模拟研究成分无序颗粒体系中切向力的几率分布.将切向力分为主切向力和次切向力分别进行统计,结果表明主切向力与次切向力服从不同的分布.随着缺陷率的增加,主切向力由近似的正态分布变为双峰状的分布,最后变为单峰状的分布;而次切向力总是指数型分布.通过理论计算和模拟讨论了切向力分布,说明缺陷率较大的成分无序体系与结构无序体系有类似的力分布规律.  相似文献

The dynamic response of a homogeneous isotropic micropolar half-space with voids subjected to a set of normal point sources is investigated. The integral transforms have been inverted by using a numerical technique to obtain the normal force stress, normal displacement, tangential force stress, tangential couple stress and volume fraction field in the physical domain for the two different sources. The results of these quantities for a magnesium crystal-like material are given and illustrated.  相似文献

The method of dimensionality reduction is applied to the tangential contact between an elastomer and a rotationally symmetric indenter. A dynamic multiscale simulation based on quasicontinuum method (QC) has been conducted to study the effect of tool geometry in nanometric cutting process of single crystal copper. In the simulation, the many-body EAM potential is used for the interactions between copper atoms in of the workpiece. The simulation captures the atomistic behaviors of material removal mechanisms from the free surface and the mobility of dislocations and their interactions with the computational cost of local atomistic simulation method. Simulations are performed on single crystal copper to study the atomistic details of material removal, chip formation, sub-surface deformation, and machining mechanism. The simulation results demonstrate that tool edge radius has significant effect on chip formation and subsurface deformation, because the effective rake angle varies with the tool edge radius. In addition, different effective rake angles result in different stress states and smoother surface can be obtained under bigger clearance angle. The variations of tangential force, normal force as well as the ratio of normal force to tangential force are obtained to analyze the effects of tool edge radius, rake angle and clearance angle in quantitative way.  相似文献

The collision of frictional granular particles may be described by an interaction force whose normal component is that of viscoelastic spheres while the tangential part is described by the model by Cundall and Strack (Géotechnique 29, 47 (1979)) being the most popular tangential collision model in Molecular Dynamics simulations. Albeit being a rather complicated model, governed by 5 phenomenological parameters and 2 independent initial conditions, we find that it is described by 3 independent parameters only. Surprisingly, in a wide range of parameters the corresponding coefficient of tangential restitution, epsilont, is well described by the simple Coulomb law with a cut-off at epsilont = 0. A more complex behavior of the coefficient of restitution as a function on the normal and tangential components of the impact velocity, gn and gt, including negative values of epsilont, is found only for very small ratio gt/gn. For the analysis presented here we neglect dissipation of the interaction in normal direction.  相似文献

We examine frictional shakedown of a three dimensional elastic rolling contact. Slight oscillatory rolling of one contacting body varies the normal pressure distribution. In turn this causes incremental sliding processes and a macroscopic rigid body motion. We consider two settings: tangential force and rolling direction aligned parallel and perpendicular to each other. In both cases, the slip ceases after the first few periods and a safe shakedown occurs if the oscillation is sufficiently small. Otherwise ratcheting occurs and the accumulated slip leads to a continuing rigid body motion.Numerical simulations with Kalker’s and Vollebregt’s software CONTACT show that the rolling direction leads to differences in the contact region and the traction distribution. Using the method of dimensionality reduction we derive the analytical shakedown limits for the tangential load and the oscillation amplitude. The results show strong agreement with experimental data and allow the accurate prediction of the shakedown displacement and the maximum tangential load capacity in the shakedown state. It shows that a perpendicular alignment of force and rolling direction increases the final displacement in case of shakedown as well as the incremental shift in case of ratcheting.  相似文献

波浪与风载的共同作用下,海上风电机组平台存在多自由度运动,同时伴随着海上复杂的风况,其气动特性变化较为复杂。以NREL5MW风电机组为研究对象,在风剪切来流下,依据波浪和风载的作用规律,研究平台纵摇和纵荡运动对机组气动特性和绕流场细节的影响。结果表明:平台运动会造成风电机组气动性能的周期性波动,而风剪切作用使得风电机组平均发电量降低并加剧功率和推力的波动。风剪切会增大纵摇运动过程中展向截面的法向载荷幅值且波动加剧,但会降低与功率输出有关的切向受力;风剪切作用推迟了纵荡运动过程中展向截面法向和切向载荷峰值出现时刻,加剧载荷的波动。外叶展截面的法向和切向力系数曲线出现平台,加剧了叶片疲劳载荷,减小了功率输出。  相似文献

A definite relationship is shown to exist between the external friction force and elastoplastic deformation. Maximum elastoplastic deformation arises in the contact zone when static friction is replaced by moving friction. In a nonsliding tangential contact, vectors of tangential force and tangential displacement are related by the tensor of tangential stiffness. Using the boundary element method, we calculate the principal values of the tensor of tangential stiffness for a number of contact shapes. Of special interest for applications is that the anisotropy of the tensor of tangential stiffness is generally relatively small, even for extremely anisotropic contact shapes.  相似文献

The dynamic tangential contact of rough surfaces of frictional elements of a stick-slip microdrive is theoretically investigated. By applying the method of dimensionality reduction, the contact areas of the frictional partners are modeled such that the physical properties of the contact can be fully considered and the influence of the roughness is taken into account. The dynamics of the microscopic rough contact is combined with a macroscopic movement of the drive’s runner in a hybrid dynamic simulation. The numerical results show a good agreement with experimental data. Furthermore, an analytical relation between maximal tangential contact displacement and normal force applied to the contact is analyzed, allowing the contact behavior to be theoretically predicted.  相似文献

A dynamic model of the nanostructuring burnishing of a surface of metallic details taking into consideration plastic deformations has been suggested. To describe the plasticity, the ideology of dimension reduction method supplemented with the plasticity criterion is used. The model considers the action of the normal burnishing force and the tangential friction force. The characteristic of radiated sound field excitated within a non-ferromagnetic aluminum by an electromagnetic acoustic transducer consisting of circle-spiral coil and vertical bias magnetic field is studied.This article presents an improved force source model according to the principle of electromagnetic induction.Then the analytic displacement solution of sound field produced by that force source model is deduced.The tangential and normal directivities of shear and longitudinal sounds are calculated numerically and compared with experimental results.Experimental results conform well to the theoretical prediction,which not only shows that the electromagnetic acoustic transducer of this conformation has a good directivity of vertical shear-wave radiation,but also confirms the given force source model is effective to describe the actual physical behavior of the probe.Theoretical and experimental study lays a foundation for optimization design and engineering application of the electromagnetic acoustic probe.  相似文献

The cup-shaped transverse magnetic field (TMF) contacts contain radial components and tangential components in the TMF generated when the current is interrupted. The tangential force generated by the radial magnetic field component drives the vacuum arc to rotate, and the tangential magnetic field component generates a radial force that causes the vacuum arc to move radially outward. In this paper, in order to study the influence of the arc force direction on the arc characteristics, the influence of the contact structure parameters such as the inclination of the inner wall on the arc force direction is simulated, and the breaking tests of different levels of current are carried out on the contact with different structure parameters. It is found that the direction of the Lorentz force has a significant effect on the breaking characteristics of the current, and the tangential and radial force components have varying degrees of influence on the motion characteristics of the arc during the start process and the metal droplet splashing.  相似文献

A rigid-glass prism (square or rectangular base, rectangular cross-section) is sheared off a thin film of silicone elastomer bonded to a glass plate by applying a tangential force at various distances above the prism/elastomer interface. At a given tangential force, the prism starts to slide on the elastomeric film. As the sliding velocity, thus the frictional force, is progressively increased, an elastic instability develops at the interface that results in the formation of numerous bubbles. These bubbles, the lateral dimension of which is comparable to the thickness of the film, move across the interface with speeds 1000 times faster than the overall sliding speed of the glass prism against the PDMS film. It is found that the glass prism continues to slide on the elastomeric film as long as the applied shear stress is less than a critical value. During sliding, however, a normal stress is developed at the interface that decays from the front (i.e. where the force is applied) to the rear end of the prism. When the normal stress reaches a critical value, the prism comes off the film. The critical shear stress of fracture increases with the modulus of the film, but decreases with the thickness following a square root relationship, as is the case with the removal of rigid punches from thin elastomeric films by normal pull-off forces.  相似文献

The problem concerning the fluctuation electromagnetic interaction of a neutral particle moving parallel to the boundary of a semi-infinite homogeneous isotropic medium characterized by a permittivity and permeability dependent on the frequency is considered in terms of the fluctuation electrodynamic theory within the relativistic formalism. It is assumed that, in the general case, the particle and the medium have different temperatures. Within the proposed approach, general expressions are derived both for conservative (normal to the boundary of the medium) and nonconservative (tangential) forces of the interaction between the particle and the medium and for the thermal heating (cooling) rate of the particle. In the nonrelativistic limit (c → ∞), the derived relationships coincide with nonrelativistic analogs available in the literature. It is demonstrated that the tangential force acting on the particle can be either accelerating or decelerating. There can occur a situation when the hot moving particle will be heated and the cold medium will be cooled. The interaction of the high-conductivity medium with a high-conductivity particle is analyzed numerically. The asymptotics of the radiative contributions to the heat flux and the tangential force is investigated. It is shown that the inclusion of the relativistic effects leads to a substantial increase in the tangential force and the heat flux at distances greater than 1 μm (as compared to the nonrelativistic case); however, the corresponding dependences exhibit a monotonic decreasing behavior over the entire range of studied distances (from zero to several hundreds of microns). __________ Translated from Fizika Tverdogo Tela, Vol. 45, No. 10, 2003, pp. 1729–1741. Within the framework of the nonrelativistic fluctuation electromagnetic theory, relationships for the quadrupole-quadrupole contribution to the tangential and normal components of the force acting on a particle moving parallel to the polarizing surface are derived for the first time.
